Design-focused review: Excited to try this new coffee shop that moved into the trendy Avondale neighborhood. Small space with much of the focus dedicated to a roasting area that is displayed proudly and prominently to customers. There are about 8 barstool seats by the window and a couple sit down tables, about half with outlets. The design is very much focused on black, gold, golden wood and greys - statement wallpaper, gold letter board menu on black and solid black walls. Especially like the light fixtures that hover over the counter, front and center. Their espresso beans are delicious, fresh and trend towards darker flavors/roasts. Pastries are gorgeous and feature Latin American favorites such as Pan De Bono and guava-filled pastries. Overall a beautiful coffee-focused shop with a unique flair. Highly recommend!

Awesome new cafe! The people running Magnifico are skilled and lovely. Coffee is delicious- they have clearly put great effort into sourcing the best beans from deserving farmers and how to roast the raw beans to get superb flavor. They roast small batches in house so the coffee is extremely fresh. Pastries were great as well. Come find out for yourself. I’ll be back often.

Was looking for a new coffee shop to top by this morning and came across this place. Got to talk to one of the owners who was great. Super friendly and helpful. Gave us an overview of the shop. They focus on single origin coffee from Colombia and roast there. The third Sunday of the month they have a dj come in. I got a lavender iced latte which was delicious but next time will come get a regular brew. Will definitely be back!

Coffee was great, and the place looks fantastic. I met two of the owners, Adam and Ricardo and they are both delightful. Looking forward to having this be a regular neighborhood staple for me

The espresso is seriously…magnifico :) Smooth and robust. I’m no expert but I’ll absolutely say it’s some of the best I’ve had in Chicago. On top of the quality roasting and brewing, the business is family-owned. All around an awesome addition to the neighborhood!

Brand new. Drip coffee was medium light—Colombian—excellent. They have a roasting machine in house and are direct importing from woman owned farms. Plus a hand painted Owl themed wall mural!

Unbelievable that I’ve been going here almost daily for 6+ months and have yet to post a full review, but it’s only because it almost feels wrong to try and “review” a place that makes you feel so at home. I’ll get to the most important aspect for most people who are trying to decide whether to come here: the coffee. It’s second-to-none. I can’t get into the coffee bean selection and roasting process because frankly I don’t know a damned thing about it, but I do know that I’ve never seen someone as knowledgeable and passionate about it as Ricardo, and the results are right there in the various delicious, smooth, and unique coffee and espresso offerings that are served. Magnifico’s baristas are both true artists and mad scientists (who create some truly unique concoctions such as iced coffee lemonade or marshmallow foam cold brews) who clearly love what they do. It’s not uncommon to stroll into Magnifico and see their baristas smiling and dancing to whatever vibrant music they have playing on their sound system. In terms of the space itself, Magnifico is a great spot to quietly work or meet a friend or colleague for a coffee and delicious pastry. Hell, I bet it’s even a good first date spot! There’s ample seating, and the vibe is lively, clean, modern, and comforting. But what makes this family-owned and operated coffee shop truly stand out is their personal touch: you’re guaranteed to be greeted with a warm smile by their owners (or any one of their amazing team members), and if you return for a second visit you’ll almost certainly be remembered and welcomed back. Their casual kindness and authentic passion for their neighboring community makes Magnifico a truly special place. I hope they are in Avondale for decades to come!

Magnifico is a new coffee shop in the neighborhood. When my partner and I first walked in, we were greeted by one of the owners who talked us through their roasting process. I got an iced coffee and my partner a cappuccino; both were delicious and ready quickly. The pastries were fresh, buttery, and warm, and the environment is cozy and inviting. Definitely stop in if you're in Avondale.

What a wonderful addition to the neighborhood! I had the pleasure of meeting Adam and Ricardo today and they are nothing but warm and welcoming. The coffee is great and I love that roast in house and source from women-owned farms. I look forward to many more visits in the future!

This is the best coffee I've had in a really long time. I got a latte and my partner got a lavender latte and they were both amazing and strong. They are so kind and personable as well. I'm so excited about this new business in my neighborhood! Also love that they gave me a second coffee because the barista wanted to give me better latte art, a really cute surprise.

I saw that this coffee shop opened on some website, and I wanted to come here, given the coffee is Colombia-inspired. The ambiance is unlike other coffee shops. Music in Spanish will play in the background, not your classic Lofi or English music, which I thoroughly enjoyed. The staff is amicable. I ordered their lavender coffee, and I think it’s the best one I’ve had in the city thus far. I thought the price was a little too high for the amount I received, BUT they are a family-owned business, and I’m all for supporting family-owned businesses. I will be back.

Amazing new family-owned coffee shop! We tried the salted caramel latte and Colombian medium roast- both were delicious. The owners are extremely kind and also very knowledgeable and passionate about their business. Magnifico is a great addition to the neighborhood.

My chocolate latte was a bit too sweet, but overall very delicious freshly roasted coffee and several Columbian pastries. The I got a bag of beans to brew at home, delicious.

People at this shop are simply the best! Everyone is always friendly and caring when you come in. Pastries are delicious (though I did get my order wrong a few times, especially when I got Pan de bono with Guava and get the one without instead). You can order to go online too, which is super convenient. Did I also mention they are dog-friendly? I brought my pup in and every time they gave her a treat. Loveee 🥰

This place is a small treasure. My son (the coffee guy) pronounced their Colombian coffee 'very solid'. I'm a tea person and my green tea was very nice. We also had pastries that were quite good. It's clearly a neighborhood place where they know their customers. While we were there, a couple stopped by with their week old baby. An appropriate fuss was made over the little dude and they all had a nice chat. This is the kind of place where you should be a regular. My son tells me that the beans were fresh roasted using the machine in the store (see picture). He also thought their espresso technique was quite good.

We have been long time friends of the Magnifico Family owners and were excited when our friends Angelica and Adam - a super driven, inspiring, creative powerhouse couple said they were going to open a cafe in Avondale with their family. From the first step in there you are greeted with the most kind, welcoming, friendly and beautiful atmosphere. The design of the cafe is gorgeous with hand painted and handmade touches. But most importantly the coffee is AMAZING! Magnifico Coffee Roasters directly sources its single-origin specialty coffee from farms in Colombia and is roasting weekly at their in-house facility in Avondale, Chicago by their talented and knowledgeable Brother Ricardo (their Master Roaster and Co-Owner) Our lattes are always delicious and we are able to bring home fresh beans for our own coffee/espresso machines, or they will ship to you! Their Colombian and locally baked goods are super delicious too! Definitely must visit for people who love family, amazing coffee and treats, and a comforting inspiring environment.

Just the best. Adam is literally the greatest. This is a beautiful family business that celebrates Colombian culture. The coffee is phenomenal, roasted on site. The pastries are spectacular- particularly fond of the churro donut filled with caramel. The design and vibe is just straight up cool. This is the best new coffee shop I’ve been to in a long time.

The best coffee, tastiest pastries, and kindest people! Their oat milk lattes are perfect every time (and I go here almost every day). From the lattes to the freshly roasted beans to the decaf drip, the coffee is fantastic all around. The pan de bonos (Colombian pastries, pictured) are so delicious, and luckily for me, they are naturally gluten free! Every person on the Magnífico team is incredibly kind and friendly. Avondale is so lucky to have them!!

Great shop with bright floor-to-ceiling windows and modern decor, where they roast the coffee on premise first thing every morning and personally know the Columbian farmers who grow the fresh beans. Super friendly owner-baristas playing Columbian music and softly singing along — the theme from Narcos was actually playing at one point! The authenticity of this place is heartwarming and the coffee is strong and smooth and awesome. Wonderful place.

If you’ve been looking for a coffee shop that really cares about quality, this is the place for you. Just an amazing addition to the neighborhood with knowledgeable staff and ownership. From their pour overs to lattes, I have not had a bad drink yet.
