It's a real vibe. Beautifully curated experience. I even walked up on a crane standing in the water that gently flew away as footsteps disturbed its concentration. Make a visit and get educated on its origins and plans.

This place is really beautiful and as soon as you step in, your soul will be filled with positive energy. I do not know to express myself... You just have to go and try it yourself and I can assure you that you will not regret it. Also, if you are lucky, you will also be able to see a few Herons eating fish! Well, what are you waiting for? Go before the Summer ends!

I have been to this place many years ago. It doesn't get old going back. Very peaceful. I like how the bridge looks in pictures but not so much walking off of it. 😂 So be very careful when you get on the bridge and especially when walking off that cute little bridge. I like the sound of the water. I saw lots of fishies in the water. Too bad it's a little murky. Before coming to this place, there was a bridge on the other side of that park but it was not open. I thought we could walk to this place from the park but it seemed like it had been closed for a while. Oh well. I just drove around to the other side and parked on a side street then walked to what used to be called Osaka Garden. The name "Garden of the Phoenix" just doesn't sit right with me. 🤔 I guess it's one of those things that just sticks with you like how I still call the Sears Tower, the "Sears Tower"! 😂🤣 I'll always call this place, Osaka Garden. 😁😊

Really nice place to visit. It is super small so there is not much exploring to do. There are a lot of people that plan events there, like a gender reveal, a proposal, a birthday ohotoshoot etc, so just something to be mindful of. There is seating space under the pergola so that is an option too to just relax for a bit and enjoy the nature. There is a portapotty right outside of it next to the fence on the south side.

Nice place to take a break from the busy city. They don't have much seating in the park but there is plenty of walking space. The water feature here is neat as well.

A beautiful, peaceful and serene way to spend an hour or a day. The heron makes a wonderful and exciting addition to the scores of pads in the Lily pond. Watch your step on the very steeply arched bridge. Enjoy the tranquility of the waterfall and relax under the meditation-like structure that allows you a shaded reprieve on a very sunny day. The brushed steel structure, "SkyLanding, by Yoko Ono, greets you on the path into the garden. This is a hidden gem on the city's South side that doesn't get enough attention in my opinion. A great find for nature lovers and novices to visit over and over again.

Breathtaking beautiful Japanese Garden! Small but a must see. Street Parking is a must! Parking lot was a no go since the bridge is blocked off.

Very nice. This pristine hidden gem is nestled in the middle of the northern side of Jackson Park. It is full of history. In a pond happens to be several big beautiful koi fish.

This place absolutely serene. Very beautiful and very well maintained. Loved to go there the first time as it was a little bit cold and that's why not a lot of people were there. It was all just nature and us. I suggest going there in first 2 weeks of May as all the flowers would be bloomed to there peak during that time period.

This is a little quaint area perfect for relaxation and sneaking up on birds as they perch. There are usually at least one or two other people around here though they are reasonably quiet. This is a convenient location from the science museum and is very easy to approach.

The best entrance is from the 63rd Street east parking lot nearest to Cornell intersection. Otherwise, there is a long trail from the parking lot on Science (off LSD) which takes you through the butterfly and flower conservatory. It's a beautiful trail. The garden is beautifully manicured and clean.

A beautiful Japanese style garden with a koi pond, pavilion, and stone pathways. An ideal place for tranquil meditation or a scenic stroll.

I loved walking through this garden, it’s a hidden gem in the city. Peaceful, serene and isolated on a Tuesday afternoon. I only saw 2 other people there. Great place to sit and meditate. The pond has really pretty koi in it, too. Not dog or bike friendly so make sure to keep those out.

We frequent this peaceful garden to see fish and birds. My son loves adventuring across the bridge and stone pathways past the waterfall. It's thoughtfully manicured and rarely uncomfortably busy.

Tourist … so not sure if this Garden was of the Pheonix or Osaka Japanese Garden. But maybe it’s one in the same. But … the Osaka Japanese Garden was so amazing. Peaceful, Beautiful … just so relaxing. We even made a few friends.

If a relaxing break from the hustle and bustle of the downtown you are in luck. This treasure is just south of the Museum of Science and Industry. The remnants of the Columbian Exposition are on full display. A nature lovers delight with a waterfall and koi pond. Definitely a place of solitude and therapy. Also close to the University of Chicago campus.

Great hidden respite. Go early when there aren't lots of small children around. The resident adolescent egret was sweet to watch.

It was a very delightful experience. Although the weather was cold, the greenery took over it. The garden was well maintained and full of colorful flowers, plants and 🌳. Really enjoyed my visit 😊. M so excited for the summer and I'll definitely pay another round.

Beautiful small Japanese garden on the Wooded Island in the lake in Jackson Park. Uncrowded, in part because it is a long walk from any of the parking lots. The docent at the entrance was very helpful and informative.

I was the only person in the Japanese garden and it was very peaceful. Walking through the garden lets you unwind from a stressful week and gives some peaceful energy in a chaotic environment like Chicago. I will be back for sure and I recommend anyone who likes art and beauty to check this place out.

Hidden gem located on the south side off of 63rd/Hayes. Garden of the Phoenix is in the park, it's charming. We saw an owl in the trees and a crane in the pond!

A peaceful respite from the bustling urban life. This well kept garden sits in the middle of an island near the MSI. Catch a glimpse of wildlife on your stroll.

This is a great place for yoga, or to find a nice tree facing the beautiful lake to lean against as you enjoy a good book. If your a fan of fishing pack a lawn chair and bring your fishing gear and head towards the bridge. Or perhaps have a nice picnic under the pavilion. Or a inexpensive date for two, simple and cheap it can be a great way to try to get to know someone. From the breath taking scenery, to the beautiful walk down the path through nature. This place will remind you all over again why nature can be so relaxing!! The perfect place that's not easily spotted, and for that I love it!

If you're looking unique location for an engagement session or proposal this is the place! The park thrives in spring & Summer, but is the perfect spot year round! Would recommend making a visit!
