A botanical park in the heart of the city. A virtual oasis... The rating used to be a five, but... The park is lately being overrun by a virtual parade of city tow trucks taking a shortcut to the impound lot. Note, the following pics of the tow trucks were all taken within a three hour period - perhaps the 13 trucks should be called, "the baker's dirty dozen!" Is this a park or a thoroughfare? Access to the park is through narrow one-way streets. Parents with children have to cross to get to the park - some trucks don't even stop to let people cross; the trucks create congestion, not to mention they are dangerous to pedestrians. They are supposed to use an alternate route but it takes two minutes longer. I wonder if this is just laziness on their part or if it is a way to generate more revenue?

We enjoyed the quieter environs of Lakeshore East Park compared to nearby Maggie Daley and Millennium Parks. There are curved, paved walking paths and nicely landscaped grounds with trees and planted flower beds which were full of tulips in full bloom during our recent visit. These were beautiful to see at this time of year. You'll also find traditional children's playground, dog friendly areas and park benches to sit and enjoy the park.

Definitely such a beautiful and relaxing place. When I was passing through on the way to Navy Pier I stopped in here for a quick break and to relax.

I just love this place. I’m so grateful to people who built and maintaining it. Spring, summer and autumn there are flowers: tulips, magnolias, roses, etc. I am so lucky to live near with this park.

We are here for the Jazz Institute's concert featuring Julius Tucker Trio. An urban oasis park!

Such a lovely park. Well cared for. I just live to come here for walks with my fur baby. Popular with families and children its a paradise amidst the concrete towers. These days check out a million Tulips in bloom here . I must have taken a 100 pics at least. Sharing just a few.😊

I stopped by this park this morning for my dog's walk since Millennium Park is not pet-friendly (I'm glad this exists!). It is central to all the high-rise apartments and condos, and the surrounding area has coffee shops and restaurants, which are also within walking distance. The park is small and has a designated gated dog park where your dogs can run off-leash with other dogs. The pet owners are responsible and monitor their dogs to make sure they are friendly to other dogs. While I only stayed here for less than twenty minutes due to the high wind and chill, I enjoyed my time with my dog! I highly recommend this city park for those with pets.

Beautiful little park, a hidden gem in the heart of the concrete jungle, where you can enjoy some green, trees, flowers and even a dog park! Free parking at Marinos.

This park is great. Many places to seat, lots of shade during the summer sunny days and many corners to hang out and paths to walk along.

What a beautiful place to visit. The surrounding buildings cut off all the sounds from the city. Lovely

Another "not my first time here, but first Google Review" for this place! Stumbled upon this clean park/neighborhood years ago when parking at The Tides. Many tall buildings - businesses, or living areas, surrounding the park. There are many families and kids but very quiet from the hustle and bustle of the city and has a hidden gem, private-feel. Cute shops, restaurants, and a Mariano's within the quarters. Will be around!

Very breathtaking view of the surroundings. I’m from Dallas and it’s nothing like what we have. Would come definitely during summer or after it drizzles, the rain compliments the flowers and nearby trees, the shrubbery glows under passing clouds. Dogs and people running doing recreational activities. Fantastic city design Chicago gotta give it to River North.

Amazing park! Very well maintained! You can go there at any time (day and night) it's super safe! They usually have events during the summer (concerts, movies, fair). There's also a small dog park.

I learned about Lake Shore East Park through a friend of mine. Upon visiting it for myself, I was in awe at this little hidden gem! Such a lovely and welcoming place for every soul; the young, the old, the romantic, the nature lover, picture-takers (me!), and even for our furry little friends. This park is surround by marvelously colored flowers, and at a time nearing, such as springtime, there is no better time to begin one's visit. This beautiful park has multiple little water fountains sitting around that can lull anyone to sleep. It has a wide space for children to run free, and still within sights of mommy and daddy. It has a little park for them to play as well. For those of you who have a child in your furry little friends, there is a small park in the midst of Lake Shore Park that is specifically for dogs and its very well kept. The people that the furry ones take there :-) are as friendly ad they are and the dogs all seem to be well trained to socialize with their counterparts. One can take a romantic walk there as well. There plenty of shaded and unshaded spots for individuals and small groups to chill. If you are into getting fully relaxed it is nice spot to spread and blanket and take a wondrous nap at Lake Shore East Park. And reading a simple book makes for home for my book lovers. It is only 10 minutes walk from Maggie Daley Park if you are interested in getting the children to a less crowded place than Maggie Daley Park. Even if it is for a break from the noise of kids play, the kids can continue their play here until all is ready to return to Maggie Daley. Because it is close to Mariano's and a few more restaurants, Lake Shore Park is the perfect place for lunching :-) if there is such a word for it. He he. Please visit whether you are a tourist or Chicago resident. You will not be disappointed!!!

Amazing little gem in the city. It's quiet with beautiful landscaping and water features. Reminds me of walking through the Botanic Gardens. My kids loved the playground. There's an area for the big kids and littles, shade and seating for parents/caregivers. Also, a sprinkler for those hot summer days. Everyone is friendly.

LSE Park is a lush 6 acre garden in the middle of the New Eastside neighborhood feels like you are walking in a fairytale. Has a medium-sized dog park, child's playground, fountains, and two large open areas for picnics or recreation.

I honestly believe Lakeshore East park is the most beautiful park in the city. The landscaping is top notch and always so beautiful with so many different colors of flowers. This park is pretty big with plenty of benches, fountains, and even a dog park. Great place for a picnic or to just read a book or meditate.

Slice of heaven in downtown Chicago! Hidden Gem! Incredibly clean and beautiful. This is my favorite spot in Chicago to take my dog or relax and read a book on a Sunday. Dog park available but you can also have your dog in the open grass area (I recommend on leash). There are spots in the shade and in the sun for people who prefer either. Water fountains as well. 100/10.

A hidden gem in the center of lake shore east, surrounded by nice condo buildings and St. Regis hotel

Love this park! Somewhat precarious to get to yet certainly worth the excursion. Love the remainder of the cafés close by. Individuals there are truly cordial as well! My canine loves it here!

Been a Chicago resident since a kid and have never been to this park. It's calm and quiet. Must be a great place for pics since we saw teens in their prom gowns and people walking their dogs. Defitnetly feels like a hidden gem.

I love this place. I want to live here and my dog agrees. It is the best looking area in downtown Chicago. There are a couple restaurants around, Mariano's grocery store (which also serves food, with a view of the park), a big CVS right there, av international school, and the best localized walk ups(if you have a couple millions to spare). There's a dog park and a kids park. And in between areas of grass, water fountains, and beautiful, well taken care gardens. Perfect place to bring the kids, walk the dogs, have a meal outside or just read a book with the sound of the water running on the fountains.

Boujee park but one of the nicest that I have visited in the city. A great place to read is under the hemlock trees on the south side.

Love this park! A little tricky to get to but definitely worth the trip. Love the rest of the restaurants nearby. People there are really friendly too! My dog loves it here!
