The nurses that work at reception at station B are some of the rudest people I have ever encountered. They truly do not act like they want to be working there nor do I think they shoul... People often mention appointment, doctor, time, doctors, hours, people, times, call, care, horrible,

It would be in the best interest of the entire center to just hire new employees.

Rude reception, some staff can be nice, but every visit always feels very rushed. If you ever decide to go here for a check up or if you're sick, be prepared to wait a long time before being called and possibly being told to reschedule for another day. Also, be prepared to be misdiagnosed a bunch of times because the doctors don't want to take the time to actually exam you. This happened to me too many times to count. Luckily, knowing this, I saved myself the trouble to take unnecessary drugs. Just keep that in mind, if you think their diagnosis makes no sense, trust your gut.

Yes, the phone experience can be awful. Long wait times and no call backs. Yes, appointment dates can be months away. If you come in without an appointment for an emergency visit it's like any other ER experience, you're going to be there awhile. Make the ER appointment the day before if you can to significantly reduce your wait time. But, I've been a member with Union Health for 9 years now and my overall experience has been positive. My best recommendation is to avoid calling and go to the facility if possible. Or call at 8am. As far as appointments, people cancel all the time. Check back daily/ weekly and inquire about any cancellations and move your appointment date up. Union health has satellite locations where you may be able to avoid long wait times for service. I think their medical benefits are above average and prescription prices good. The staff has always been helpful and friendly and the quality of doctors is on a par with any other HMO I've been associated with. My biggest gripe is the ever increasing premiums year after year.

Just repeating what everyone else is saying...This place is ridiculous. They change your appointments and mess with your prescription doses without notifying you. When you need to see a doctor urgently, you CAN'T. Hour(s) on hold waiting to talk to someone and then they just take a message anyway and who knows when they'll call back? Then you get an "unscheduled" appointment, but end up sitting there waiting around for hours to be seen. And, yes, they hang up on you when you call, after you've waited tirelessly for an answer! Craziness. My partner had the same doctor for over a decade, then suddenly he decided to move to the Evanston clinic and go into semi-retirement without telling anyone. Good luck trying to get a new doctor. The reason we go to Polk street is because it can be reached by CTA from home/work. Evanston is ridiculous. My partner doesn't drive, how is he supposed to get to EVANSTON to see his doctor? Especially if he has a physical ailment? It's cool you can go to any doctor in this building and not have to shell out a copay or anything, but they also don't really know what they're doing either, you get passed around to "specialists" and sent out to other facilities anyway. What a waste of time!

It's sad that we are obligated as a union member to this service. The people who answer the phone are mean and rude, the doctors don't care about you, I have been waiting for a prescription to be sent to my pharmacy for 2 weeks and I suppose to take it every day. I had called many times about that and they always just ignore. The only good doctor is the neurologist, she is very professional and always sends me the prescriptions before I run out. The endocrinologist Sofia is the worst. I wish I could go to another network and not been forced to assist these UHS clinics. 😢

I’m glad my insurance will be ending soon with this clinic. Everytime i call they send me to voicemail why is it so hard to answer when its not even busy and the menu for calling has no options for ob/gyne or to talk with a nurse. Then they call you back in 5 hours i don’t understand how this is a clinic if noone answers the phone. The nurses don’t even want to give out their extension number everyone here just gave up on helping people.

Service is ridiculous. Been on hold for over an hour and all I’m trying to do is schedule an appointment with my doctor. Would give 0 stars if I could. I didn’t want to have to go to the ER but I have no choice.

Rude appointment setters, The doctors are a hit or miss with some having great bed side manners and others scratching her head and armpits with a dirty smock. My elderly parents and other elderly patients need better treatment.

Horrible! I am grateful for my insurance, but I can’t wait to get better insurance. The providers here care somewhat about their patients but not really. Psychiatrist Aida S. Mihajlovic , MD is horrible. She talks extremely fast you really can’t understand her. I called several times, I was dealing with a crisis and she ignored me for days. She hates people of color, and claims mental health is important. She cares more about the medical card information, for the entire visit she took pictures of my insurance card sent it to other provides and gave them clientele. She is horrible. Stay away from this lady she only cares about her fashion and designer clothes not patient care. She rush everything

I have seen Endocrinology and Orthopaedics. Both seemed as if I was wasting their time. Endocrinology made my thyroid levels so out of whack that it has taken me over $7,000 out of pocket with a private health care company to get the levels back within normal range. Orthopaedics wouldn't even discuss anything and said the imaging reports I had were useless, he needed the scans..... I am so thankful for my health insurance, but then these doctors are horrible! I wouldn't send my worst enemy here. It takes over 6 months to be seen, and they change appointment dates and times and notify you of the change by mail. I have never received such impersonal, cold and unkind care in my life.

Am a patient at this medical sender for only about 6 months now. So far am extremely satisfied with my eye doctor, Dr. Valentino. He treats me with patience, respect, and explain my care thoroughly and listens to my questions patiently. Also his assistant I cannot remember his name but he is an older guy) is very polite and professional.

I like my primary care doctor and one or two others but everyone is sure right about station B. They are awful, really awful. I once was on hold long enough to wear my battery completely down and use all $24.00 I had on my phone. I was still on hold when my phone quit. Today I once again got treated as if I am less than human or rather I am just human NOT an MD. I just spent 4 hours trying to see my doctor, I had an appointment and still was turned away. I was 25 minutes late because I couldn't leave my house on time, my IBS was acting up. Then I just missed a red line train and then a pink line. But no one cared to hear me out. Hell one nurse walked around saying I was 45 minutes late, how does she take pulse if she can't tell time?? I don't think I've ever seen a doctor in under 45 minutes and that is a rarity. I have quite often sat at station B for 2, 3 hours, hell once 5hours.To add to this stupid day I work nights I normally go to bed at noon and sleep until 8pm. I did not make today's appointment a station B crouch did without consulting me. She just handed me the appointment slip. I never would have made an appointment for 2:40 pm. I gave up trying to change it because Monday is my day off so I could live with going to bed late.. I once was in an emergency room for 7 hours before they put me in a cubicle. A nurse woke me up 5 hours later, she said they had forgotten about me.

I had an appointment at 9:00am on 12/05/23, but I arrived at approximately 8:25am. I mistakenly went to Station B when I was supposed to go to Station C. I handed the young Hispanic woman my slip. She then yelled at me in front of other people waiting to be called, "You're supposed to be at Station C, not B!!" I asked her, "Where is station C?" She quickly waved her arm in a horizontal fashion and yelled again, "OVER THERE!" I asked, over where? She then yelled, "IN THE BACK!! I'm not sure if she was just having a bad morning, didn't want to be at work, or something else, but no patient deserves to be yelled at and talked to with such vile and venom. You can almost hear hate tainted in her voice. I don't come to this place often, but it's the Union Clinic associated with my job, and I had an appointment. I hope someone read this review and figure out who the young lady was. She sat in the chair closest to the plants. I hope someone reminds her that when she comes to work, she must "wear a different hat." she must leave her personal feelings at home, and maybe even do a little acting if she's not in a good mood. It can actually help her out in the long run if she makes this a common practice. I held my tongue, and checked my anger, because I never look at a day like this as a "Bad Day." I look at a day like this as a "Character-building Day."
