Really had a great time during my few days of drop-ins. The programming and coaching staff are really good. The members were also very welcoming.

I’ve never been able to commit to a gym before finding this amazing group of coaches and people. The coaches are very knowledgeable and want each person to excel in their own ways. Come try it out!!!

It's hard to imagine this place exists! It's a beautiful yet rustic space immediately recognizable as a great crossfit gym but it'l located in the middle of a great neighborhood in Chicago. The coaching is top notch and there are a wide range of athletic levels from beginner to elite. This is the place to be in South Loop!

The best strength and conditioning gym in Chicago. Adaptable for any age and top tier instruction. They are as interested in the individual as much as they are the experience. Whether it's for a group class or personal training I wouldn't go anywhere else.

Been training here for about a year now. The group classes are motivating, fun, full of energy & high intensity. It truly has helped me become healthier and stronger. Ryan, Taylor, ash, Marcos, Kelcey, and Vicky are amazing

I’ve been a member for about a year and a half now. The coaches are great. In class you will always get a few good tips you haven’t heard before. The community is great too. It is easy to make friends and meet new people, which keeps me coming back to the gym. It’s more fun working out when you know everyone. It is a good gym to join if you want to do CrossFit. There’s also quite a few weightlifters and powerlifters too.

One of the most fun and hardcore boxes I have ever experienced. Came in for a drop-in and was very happy with the WOD and instructor. Despite the fact the Saturday class was huge, there was plenty of equipment and space without overcrowding. Being in downtown Chicago, you will always have a large variety of drop-in's from all over the world, which makes things very interesting and unique.

Clean and centrally located. That's really all i'm looking for in a gym these days. They have pretty much every machine you would need.

I was teaching a summer program at UChicago and decided to venture into the city to try out South Loop. The facility is spacious, well organized, and the staff/members are extremely warm and welcoming. The coaching staff was knowledgeable and clear. Truly enjoyed my drop-ins there!

The coaches and people are friendly, highly motivated, and great to workout with. Gym is very open and well circulated with high quality equipment. Classes are taught well with efficiency and push you harder than you ever would if you were to work out alone.

Best gym in midtown/edgewater. High energy and busy but never too packed that you can’t get a great workout in.

I always try to find a good gym when I'm travelling to work off all my calories. If you are staying nearby in Chicago I highly recommend here. Work outs were what's, staff friendly and knowledgeable.

While attending the 2022 American Geophysical Union Meeting in Chicago, I was fortunate enough to have this facility available to work on my Weightlifting. The facility is clean, well-stocked, and well-run. Moreover, the people I met, particularly Kris, Mike, and Taylor, were welcoming, kind and encouraging. Though an outsider, I felt right at home. Is CrossFit or Weightlifting your shtick? Are you looking for a place to get a quick workout during open gym hours? In that case, I cannot recommend South Loop Strength & Conditioning enough.

We dropped in with my girlfriend last week. You have a great facility but when I drop in at least I hope for the coach to meet and introduce to us and to the class, but when the first words that you receive are “did you pay the drop in?”, I know the class will not be good. 25$ for a drop in where the coach don’t explain the class, don’t correct people and make you feel like you are losing the time, is a place which I will not recommend to anyone

Great spot, open 24 hours, always clean and usually not overly crowded, never have to wait for machines or treadmills

I have been going to SLSC for about a month for personal training and I look forward to it every week! My personal training sessions with Kacey are challenging, fun, and have made me feel so confident, mentally and physically. Everyone working out there and the staff are so friendly and create a comfortable and welcoming environment. Thank you for a great experience and a convenient location for folks in the South Loop!

Dropped in one of the classes. Staff were friendly and welcoming and it was also really nice that they had a shower and locker room to change. After the workout of the day, I was able to use the rest of the gym to do my own workout which was really nice!

South Loop strength and conditioning is a great gym! I was looking for a gym near me that offered both CrossFit classes and personal training, as I wanted some individual attention as well as the group experience. Great gym, supportive coaches, friendly atmosphere and great community!

At age 42 and not having worked out seriously in a few years, I was a little intimidated to start. I’m so glad I did. Coach Ryan walked me through elements and all of the coaching staff has been very welcoming and helpful. Coach Vickie usually gets me through the lunch break at noon. The other members are always supportive and great to work out with.

If you're apprehensive about starting something new, this is a great place to be. If you're a crossfitter looking for a drop in, this is a legit spot that will scratch that wod itch while you're traveling. If you're looking for specialized help with personal training or nutrition, you'll also be in talented, highly educated hands. The facility is well maintained and there is a diverse array of equipment to keep exercise interesting. The classes are humbling and challenging and soon become so fulfilling. This gym has an exceptional community of coaches and members that make something hard welcoming and accessible. The staff has always gone above and beyond to know their craft, learn to be better coaches and teachers, and meet every individual where they are at in whatever journey they are on. They genuinely want to be better at what they do for their members, including taking feedback seriously, adapting to what members need, and regularly continuing their education and certifications in both crossfit and weightlifting. Another huge perk that I appreciated was the flexibility for member access outside of class times. Other gyms I have been a member of have had limiting hours on Thursdays, Fridays, and weekends that made it really challenging with my work schedule. I was able to truly fit exercise into my busy schedule, which was a game changer. 11/10 highly recommend.

I've been a member at SLSC for ~3 years and love it. I joined for Crossfit with relatively little experience and enjoyed the classes, coaches, and community. The coaches do a great job modifying workouts to make them challenging but accessible. The olympic weightlifting classes and coaches are also wonderful. This gym does a fantastic job at facilitating a strong and welcoming community and I am very grateful to have found it.

I’m so thankful I joined this gym in 2022 as the community is incredibly welcoming and supportive. All of the coaches are very knowledgeable and bring their all to make it fun, always helpful in figuring out how to make a workout work for you. Everyone encourages each other and has a sense of humor, which makes helps me keep striving even when a workout feels challenging. I appreciate how I can accomplish several different goals within the same community - I attend olympic weightlifting classes with very detailed coaching and programming, attend CrossFit classes that are challenging yet scalable, and then come in pretty much anytime for open gym time when I want to move at my own pace. I’m also very thankful that my teenage daughter feels at home in this community and has benefited from personal training, customized workouts, and classes that have met her evolving needs as an athlete.
