I went on a tour of this house and was blown away by how many of the things in this house are original to it when the Glessners, the only residents of the house, lived there. It is highly unusual for a historic home to have so many of the original furnishings and decorations, but it is much appreciated by me. The house is lovingly cared for and the tour guide was fantastic, knowing a great deal of information on the house and various pieces that are on display in it. They still have a couple of rooms to restore still, but that in no way should discourage you from visiting this architectural jewel in the revitalized Prairie Avenue District of Chicago.

The Glessner House is an amazing location to host a wedding or an event. The courtyard is a great setting for an afternoon or evening reception and guest are just in awe of the space. The staff is easy to work with and the nicest bunch of people I have had the pleasure to work a wedding with. You wont regret hosting your wedding here.

Glessner house guided tour is amazing. The guide showed the group all the house and told us about Glessner family. It's a very nice opportunity to learn a bit more about how wealthy people used to live decades ago.

Good golly! This may be one of the most amazing tours one can take in Chicago. A National Historic Landmark on what used to be Millionaire's Row, this 135+ year-old Guilded Age Chicago home is full of original furnishings and a staff that knows so much about the family that once lived there and the era in which so much around the home developed then changed. Top notch!

This house is out of this world. Architecturally significant (Henry Hobson Richardson ❤️❤️❤️), and filled with original furnishings and decor. Including some gorgeous William Morris prints.

A Prarie Avenue gem!... The meticulously restored Richardson house and the wonderful educational programming are the perfect setting for fans of the Gilded Age. If you haven't been for a visit, you should go...you will find plenty of Chicago history and exciting collections in this landmark home.

This house is amazing. It has been impeccably restored and has an astonishing amount of the original furnishings, thanks to William Tyre & staff's recovery work. If you can get a full private tour, you will not be disappointed.

I visited this museum during my stay in Chicago in Spring 2022. If you like the unique atmosphere of old houses, you should definitely visit it. The tour guide was amazing, he told us so many interesting things about the house and history of the family. We really enjoyed it! Just check their schedule before going since they are open on specific days only.

My wife and I visited for the Christmas tour. We loved it so much that we are coming back for the full tour! Docent Steve Scott was the real reason we decided to return again. He gave us a very informative preview into what we would be getting with the full tour. We will be back at Glessner house within a week.

Such a pretty place in the South Loop. The summer concert series is pretty cool... sort of like a small Ravinia where you can bring a picnic and listen to live music. The house is in great condition and the docents are very knowledgeable. Check out this hidden gem when you have a chance!

Enjoyed the tour and learned so much. Highly recommend visiting--I took away more than what I anticipated. The docent was very knowledgeable and able to respond to my questions.

Delighted to be back to the Glessner House, this time with my son, Henry. We had an OUTSTANDING docent for our visit to one of Richardson's masterpieces. What a great experience!

Thé house tour was amazing! Thank you to the Glessner family who sent back several items to restore the house to as close as its originality. Thank you to the lady who gave a 2:30PM tour on 8/27! You’re amazing! You delivered like you knew them all your life! You made the house tour superb!

We had an event at the Glessner House and the venue managers were making it difficult to host our event. Kathy is okay to deal with but the other staff members on site definitely need a lot of training. The catering company that they use, D'Absolute, is absolutely difficult to work with--- the owner of the company has a poor attitude and reacted to challenges very negatively. Not the best place to host an event through I am sure they are great for other reasons.

Attended a wedding in Glessner House's outdoor courtyard. Beautiful location and atmosphere. We had the option to take shortened 15 minute tours of the interior of the house, which provided a wonderful yet quick summary of the building and it's history. Overall a great experience!

Amazing piece of history, preserved at museum level quality, and presented with passion and experience. Great tour for architecture students, or those who want to see a stillframe of Chicago's past.

Over the past year, we have hosted multiple events at Glessner House. Every time we are blown away by the staff's dedication, flexibility and service. Not only is the venue gorgeous, the staff goes out of their way to ensure the success of each event. We love working with them!

The Glessner House is a great location to host an event. I've planned two events at the Glessner House Courtyard for 30+ people including meals and bar service. The courtyard is a great setting for an afternoon or evening event - attendees love being here. Staff is responsive and easy to work with. We'll definitely be back.
