I quit shopping there. I spend a lot of money there. A few days ago I took a clearance bag of dog food for a price check the cashier and manager asked me if I'm putting clearance stickers on it. Where would I get them from? The store is constantly dirty and worn down. Avoid this place if possible. You lost a customer that was there since day one. This cash paying customer is done!

Self wash station was a filthy mess. Water and hair everywhere. The air dryer hose was damaged and blowing cold air. There was no clean towels yet 2 bins full of used towels that had a stench. The aprons were in poor condition and dirty. Staff doesn't care and plays on their phone while whole store in dissaray. The store used to be very clean and organized. I live nearby and been coming since it had opened. Somewhere down the road it just started to decay. I hope that things can get reversed.

I’m so disappointed with the self wash experience. Their equipment broken and tubs are filthy.. the smell that comes out the pipes is horrendous -mold!!! Also I went in around 5pm , it was very quiet and a slow night with maybe 4 employees, you would think one of them would look after their self wash. 🧼 all the employees look unbothered.

Love the pet wash.... They are usually crowded... But bring back the 25 dollar card....

We came here for a self service dog bath. The bath went well and easy. All tools worked just fine. Only the staff here is the least friendly I have ever seen in any pet services. No staff was there after we paid for the bath. No size guidance on the sinks or no staff were there to provide clean towels. We tried to use the samller sink as no big ones were available. My dog was able to fit in the smaller lot then I started to shower her as I noticed more people were coming and a line was formed. In the middle of the bath, there is a woman coming from the grooming salon and told us we can not use that pool because my dog is a middle size dog. We said okay and stopped even though my dog has been soaked and no clean towels were available anywhere in the salon. We politely asked another staff if we can get clean towels and he came back with what we need. Just after that while we were waiting for the next available sink, the same woman showed up again and told us the line started in another place and we are behind all the other guests who came after us. Luckily the next guest explained the situation to her so we can use the sink. I don't understand why she treated us this way. We have paid and obeyed all rules (there is no size criteria sign in the store). I don't think I will ever come back again.

For a smaller store, they have a good selection. If you’re looking for a specific brand, you might want to call and see if they carry it. I don’t have a dog, but I often see people buying the doggie bakery items they carry. They also have a good selection of fresh and freeze dried foods, more for dogs than cats but that’s everywhere.

This has historically been a great store, but in more recent times I have found this store with stock in the isles all over the place and some of the stock in shambles, I bought a bag of cat food about 20 or so dollars only to find it had holes in it and could not figure why my cats would not eat it, found that the bag was moldy inside, and this mold had been present for a long time like before I bought it. Wake up things will send customers running in other directions.

Every time I shop here it has been such a pleasant experience. This time around, Antonio (manager) and Esmeralda were incredibly helpful. Antonio was being pulled in a million different directions between customers and he had such a calm and professional manner throughout it all. He quickly and kindly resolved an issue regarding my Pet Supplies Plus account. Excellent and consistent customer service!

I went there to purchase turtle food. I called before i went there. A male answer the phone . He was kind and helpful. He offered to have at the register different selections of food I can purchase. I was gladly surprised . Most workers wouldn't have done that. When I got there the different foods were at the counter for my convenience. I still needed help because he picked the food for a baby turtle not an adult. He came back with the correct food with kindness.

Via Phone Today When I Called In To Inquire About Goats Milk He Also Explained To Me That They Can Assist Me In Setting Up Delivery When I Come Back In Store To Pick Up Milk (I’m Not Internet Savy) So That Way I Can Start Getting Shipments Of All My Pet Needs As Well. He’s Understanding Of My Situation, Makes Every Effort To Find A Solution & Is Very Effective At Meeting My Request & Inquires. Came on to use the Doggie wash. Even though we just needed to do something simple, the staff was very friendly and helpful. The wash tub area was clean as well. Sometimes at some other places, there's dog hairs everywhere. It was nice and clear of that.

I shop at this 31st Ashland location regularly because this pet store is one of the only places in the city that carries my pet's kibble. While I'm glad for some of the selections and options here, I am sad to say that the customer service at the cash wrap/ register is very unfriendly and is as if most, not all of the cashiers can care less if you shop here. This is what MY experience has been every single time except once. Having an extensive retail background, I can sympathize with "having a bad day" and having to deal with the public when folks sometimes may not be pleasant, but that is not the case for me as a "customer" when I shop. I'm pleasant and compassionate but I also know the deep importance of being personable, exuding customer service and at least "pretending" to care about folks that patronize your store because it fosters customer retention and LOYALTY... I also every time I shop have to "pry" any information about any specials and discounts even when there is signage displayed on products on the store shelves and if I have a coupon I received via mail or email. There seems to be hesitancy to honor my coupons and inquiry to "show" the cashiers that there is signage promotions within the store. It is a disservice to make any customer "feel" unwelcomed while patronizing your store and if it were not for my pet's diet choice and the location convenience I would take my business elsewhere. Pet Supplies Plus can do better than this. Such a shame.... disappointed...😞 Update- I revisited this location Friday, February 2,2024 and I must say the staff was available, greeted upon entering, I asked for assistance and was given it professionally and politely. While shopping, another customer in another aisle sneezed and a sales associate in my aisle was attentive and offered Blessings to that guest. When reaching the cash wrap I was greeted and serviced and thanked for coming. I had never seen or was ever serviced by any of these employees but it was a much better experience compared to the many other times I've shopped at this location. I cannot express the importance of good , welcoming customer service as it fosters customer retention and LOYALTY and I appreciated the experience I had on this day. To the employees working this evening, I thank you for such personable customer service , IT MATTERS. I hope this continues.

Great selection and customer service. One on the baby ferrets did look to have an eye infection, but this can commonly happen when housed together. But otherwise, all the animals seemed healthy.

The workers at the Ashland store in Chicago are always helpful and very helpful when assistance is needed. Always a really great shopping experience.

Don’t be fooled by Hours of operations to them it means finish early yet remain open. The dog washing station was closed 2hrs early. They turned us away from traveling in the snow 30 mins to arrive at the store 2 hrs before it closed to give our dog a bath. When we got there, the manager said the self bath station was closed for the evening... A whole 2 hrs before the store closed. My hunch is that they just didnt want to clean the bathing stations anymore for the evening. I am very disappointed with the service or lack of service from this location.

Excellent store... we purchase everything for our two dogs here. They carry Fromm, and that is all we have fed them for over 7 years. Their delivery service is also excellent for our neighborhood.

I like the selection of pet food, some of the deals were sold out of would've been great if they had restocks the deals displayed. But overall not a bad pet store.

Gotten worse in the past 6 months . No one fixes the dog wash there always broken. Drains flood hoses broken never any rowels. Today went in for a dog wash and the girl put me at wash one but that one floods and then when you try to get someone's attention no one's there no towels available and then all they said was oh well that one's broken well will never go there again please don't go here would not recommend they don't care about ur pets

Very nice selection of pet supplies. The employees are very helpful when it comes to finding specific items for certain pets. Their toys selection is nice and is very large.

My Yorkie Sweet little Mitch was there for his first time grooming. He was elsewhere before, but I choose not to trash, and when I went to pick him up, he looked like a SHOW DOG! I almost didn't recognize him. Nisa is the groomer at Ashland & Archer. Such a fun and loving pet store. It's like going to a street fair. You'll never know who you will meet or what you'll find to buy for your furry babies.

It's not huge but it's well-stocked. They have pet birthday cake supplies when I couldn't even find any at a large Petco. And they had a brake/slow feed bowl for my kibble gobbler. Last year fleas sort of hit the neighborhood and they had all the supplies and advice to help me through. Friendly staff. I walked by the groomers the other day and they were cooing to a fluffy brown dog they were working on, such a handsome boy, what a good boy. Employees seem to really like pets and enjoy working there. Mariano's receipts have coupons for the place. Overall a really nice local store.

I had my first delivery from Pet Supplies Plus (PSP) on Monday, and it was terrific. The products were correct and packaged well, and the delivery was fast! I love the selection and products at PSP; the in-store teams are so helpful, too😄 Keep up the great work!! Nia

Just got a new dog and took him for his nails to get trimmed. They did a great job of keeping him still and calm. I’ve also used there self wash regularly and love this option. It can get busy so it’s best to call first to see what openings they have.

Love coming to this location ! I was greeted by team member Joki when I first walked into the store .She was friendly and help us find our kitten product .Throughout check out she was recommending stuff to get for him and was super friendly .overall I had a great trip here ! Thank you joki

I like this store and Pet Supplies Plus in general. They have better prices, coupons, and I earn frequent rewards for buying food I need anyways. The employees here are nice to my dog and service is better than Petco or PetSmart.
