I went here and was incredibly disappointed by the experience. Namely, the waiter said that the owner didn’t want to hire a dishwasher. So we were served our water in red solo cups and all of our food was on paper plates with plastic spoons and forks. It really took away from the experience.

It was my first time visiting this place and I was happy I did. I was craving grilled veggies and they had plenty of options to choose from. Each dish my group ordered was delicious. The portions were great and they had plenty of indoor seating. I don’t have a big sweet tooth but they had some delicious sweets in the front as well. I’d for sure go back.

Thai salad was basically romaine, cucumber, tomato with ketchup. Pretty bad experience. The server was a nice person who supplied additional mayo and peanut sauce. But the taste was really poor. Would not recommend.

4 stars because of the great customer service even though the waiter was completely alone running the entire dining area. They were clearly understaffed and he was clearly struggling but still did a great job. We ordered some sushi rolls but they were mediocre. One set was too spicy, the other one just plain. We will perhaps give this place another chance in the future but as of now there are certainly better vegan places in San Diego.

This was the worst vegan food (we are vegan FYI) we’ve ever had, by far. We had the appetizer sampler which featured a variety of completely tasteless and super greasy finger foods. It was clear that nothing was freshly made, just put into a fryer from a freezer. The peanut sauce it came with tasted exactly like caramel. There was nothing peanut tasting about it. Syrupy sweet, super thick and a disturbing dark brown. The sweet potato fries it came with were the best part. The Chinese bbq bao buns were like no bao bun I’ve ever had. The dough was super dense, thick and tasted almost raw. There was almost no filling in this giant ball of gooey dough and what was in there did not taste of bbq, but like old smart dogs. The wine bottles were all sitting on top of the counter near the door and in the sunlight. My wife, who enjoys a good inexpensive wine, said what she got was undrinkable. Trust me, that’s saying a lot. Drinks were all served in plastic disposable cups. Utensils were plastic. Paper plates. Food was served in plastic clamshells even though we dined in. Weird and wasteful. But the worst part? They don’t follow COVID precautions. Our seats could see right into the kitchen where we could see one cook with her mask below her chin and the others all wore it below their noses. Another employee worked on signage completely unmasked in the dining area the entire time we were there. The only one properly masked was the host/server. But when he went on break, he took off his mask in the dining area and handed to the person who was making the signage and she PUT HIS USED MASK ON. I kid you not. At that point we’d had enough and paid our check and left. Gross.

When I walked in, I was so confused. The vibe felt post-apocalyptic. I sat down on the seating against the wall and immediately sunk straight through the cushion into the hard wood beneath. There was a pile of boxes and random restaurant supplies sitting in the corner near my table. Drinks were served in red solo cups and food in plastic clam shell to go containers which meant every dish came out very soggy. Paper plates didn’t do much to help. Everything tasted very mediocre. Nothing was terrible but my friend and I both left more than half of our food uneaten.

One of my favorite restaurant in San Diego! Great selection of vegan dishes and the service is always amazing 👌 My partner and I really enjoyed this place. This is a must place to check out if you happen to be in the area. I like the Salt & Pepper dish and the Drunken noodles. They also have some great desserts to finish your meal. Highly recommended!!

THE BEST! I was in San Diego only for 4 days and went to Sipz twice. I have never had better asian vegan food... it was so crazy delicious! The staff was super nice as well. Sushi is to die for and the portions very generous as well. I would definitely be a regular if I lived in San Diego. Can't wait to visit again 💜

The food is good. Most everything is vegan or can be made vegan. The server was very nice, helpful, friendly and attentive. I am only giving four stars though because I think they should hire more staff. The environment is very nice.

I've been a customer since 2014. In that time, I've found a staple in my orange chicken & hair in my chow mein. At the time, I thought it was no biggie, I'm not a little princess. Today they served me cold, uncooked BBQ chicken, and that was the last straw. Eat at Sipz at your own risk.

Their vegan pastries (Ube cupcake) and vegan sushi were delicious! Additionally, they follow strict Covid-19 regulations to ensure the safety of their customers and employees. (Shout out to Tim!).

I really enjoyed the staff and food at Sipz! Their vegan food is hearty and comforting but while dining inside I was sadly disappointed by their excessive use of disposable utensils and plastic, paper containers. I understand it's for COVID purposes but I think it's time to bring back that enhanced dine in experience without so much disposal waste. We'll definitely be back though.

From the super friendly service (thanks Faith and Pablo!) to the incredibly delicious, healthful food, we are definitely coming back soon! PORTIONS ARE MASSIVE! And that's a commitment cause we are from Temecula, West Hollywood and D.C. Tom Yum hot and sour soup, Vietnamese sweet and sour Soup, Kung Pao veggies w tofu and brown rice (add $1), Thai Curry (7 spicy spot on Thai scale) and Spicy Basil all veggies, no rice. YUMMYYYYYY! If you check out the menu and anything looks good, COME EAT HERE!

Really a great place. Menu is big but ask staff and use most popular items as benchmark! Lots of vegan meats that are clearly different based on the dish— chicken in stir fry is deliciously fried v sautéed in a noodle dish. Really friendly staff and lots of deserts thought we didn’t get to try. Flavors/textures are great.

This place is not one with great ambience, but has delicious food and good service. Our waiter was very helpful. Portions are really large and shareable.

Sipz is a great little vegetarian restaurant in Downtown San Diego. It is small but worth the trip. The food is good and full of flavor. The rice however needed some work. The plates and utensils that are currently being used are throw away, dine out plates, due to the old Covid policy’s. Not a big deal, the food still tastes good. The restaurant could use some updating, it’s a bit run down. The bathroom could use some cleaning, the restaurant also. Lastly the customer service was on point. Very friendly and helpful staff. I would still recommend this restaurant for good vegetarian food. 4stars for the food.

The food was even better than I expected. we ended up ordering a lot so we could try a lot of it and it was all delicious. it even tasted good regretted the next day. the Kung Pao chicken was the best, tasted just like the real thing. the dynamite roll was fantastic as well.

There is an extensive menu and the pho dish I ordered had no flavor, and on top of that they had AC at full blast so my soup was cold in seconds. The waitress was great but other than that no bueno!!

The number of options is incredible. Great spot for vegan and vegetarians. My only complaint is that I asked for a 9 level spicy and got like maybe a 2.

They forgot to include all the items that I had ordered twice! understand they are busy but this is just unacceptable. And if I call them to complain, they advise me to contact DoorDash for a refund. Really? I don’t have that kind of time to call, if I order something, I expect it to be delivered. Never doing business with them again. And I have been a loyal customer for over 10 yrs.

Life-changing! I don’t even know where to begin. Absolutely every item we bought, for a rather larger than normal family, was so delicious! No strange before or after tastes, nothing like that. This has become my number one restaurant, and I shall visit here every time I visit California, periodt.

Very, very good. I liked the jalapeño garlic fries. They were PERFECT. Just wish the forks were bigger. The cheap, small plastic forks made it hard to eat the other food. But the food was excellent 👌

This is one of my favorite restaurants because of the Salt & Pepper Breaded Shrimp. Rarely dissatisfied by this dish as it’s easily my most ordered. Sadly, the operating times can’t be trusted. There have been multiple occasions where they aren’t open at the hours posted.

I want to preface my review by saying the Clairmont location is 5 stars always great! I've been a customer since 2013 and this location was always hit or miss. Usually always ordered the same dishes and they would be either good or just meh. However the last two times I've ordered from doordash the food came from this location and it's been really bad. I got pad Thai that has no sauce and barely any other ingredients, just noodles. My roommates food was the same. No sauce! No flavor! Reading some of the other reviews here and on Yelp and it's seems to be an ongoing thing. The owner must not read these because it seems nothing has changed for the better. I wish you could pick what location your food comes from on doordash. If you want the good Sipz avoid this location.

Food is overall pretty good and comforting but all the dishes have a similar taste so I don't go here often. I would recommend using something other than red pepper flakes to add spice as it can get a bit crunchy

I’m obsessed with their coconut cream cake. I discovered Sipz 7 months ago while visiting SD. I went back every day after for more cake. My family came to LA to see Chris Rock perform and planned to spend a week in CA. I insisted that we spend the rest of the time SD because of Sipz (and I love this area). We ordered a whole coconut cream cake for my mom’s birthday and my brother has already warned me that I’m only entitled to the half of the cake I paid for. The texture, the taste, the moistness of the fresh cake is everything. I’ll be taking some cake back on the plane and exercising my willpower to save at least one slice in the freezer to eat on my birthday in 3.5 weeks.

Great vegetarian and vegan options. I got the beef and broccoli, add nixed vegetables to go. I was not disappointed. The meat was a little sweet but it was good. Didn't eat inside so based on my experience, definitely deserve about 4 stars.

Everything on the menu is vegan/vegetarian and it’s delicious. We ordered the steamed pot stickers, broccoli beef, kung pao chicken, brownie and raspberry cheesecake. Service and prices are excellent, definitely coming back again!

Great restaurant for vegan/vegetarian fans. The food was excellent, huge portions and so tasty. Big selection of vegan sushi rolls. I will definitely recommend this place to all friends. Can't wait to come back soon to try more delicatesses.

Can’t judge atmosphere. We picked up. They forgot our dessert and still have not refunded us, said I needed to call the owner but that I didn’t? Confusing. The tofu is cut so largely that even if you cut it in half, it’s still a full bite. Fried tofu was awful. king Pao is the only reason they’re getting two stars. It was okay. Definitely not worth the money especially after the service. Really want my refund asap. Can’t refund over the phone but can’t drive there because visiting out of state. Just not good. Days later, still no refund. No one will call, email, or answer me back in any way. I now have to go thru my bank.

  • 1/5 X J. 3 years ago on Google
Love this place for their food but I have not been refunded for an order that I didn't end up getting, and it's been 3 months. They won't answer my emails either. I called in an order for a future time, had plans change last minute and asked them if it was possible to cancel only if they hadn't started making the food yet (I would never ask for a refund if they were already preparing it, because that would be my fault) and the lady on the phone said it was totally fine and hadn't been started yet. They said I'd get a refund in a few days. Lame.

Stellar food, great customer service. I have never had anything sub par here and 10/10 recommend. I go to the North Park location btw. Side note: you can bring your own containers for all the food. They will wash them to avoid any contamination, and you'll get to enjoy the food and keep leftovers in your tupp. 12/10.

Ordered their pad Thai and it came without sauce. The restaurant and the owner refused to fix the issue the same nigh and ruined our Christmas dinner. Most Thai places have vegan options, I’d skip this plant based bait if I were you..

Amazing restaurant. I feel so homey there and the food is fresh and amazing. Its hard to believe how everything is vegan and made fresh. There is so much flavor in the food and it is so addicting. I would recommend the crispy rolls, "chicken" nuggets, and chow mien.

A year ago I would have only given this place 3 stars. The food is good but the service was always lacking. I hated eating here because of how bad the service was. But since COVID and lockdown started, I feel they've really upped their game and their takeout team is on point. The food is really tasty and has become part of my regular routine.

I ordered the steamed potstickers... Never again.. Zero flavor, waaaay over steamed (which baffled me since i was the only customer there) how did they not realize they over cooked them? I pierced the potstickers with a fork and they just broke apart, practically mush.... Never again.

This was my second time here. The first time was horrible. I ordered take out when I was sick and there was a mix up with orders. I understand things happen. However I had to wait an additional 30 mins for my order and it was still wrong. The lovely lady faith said I couldn't get a discount but can get a free entree for a redemption, so I took the offer. I went in tonight and the service was awesome. I was greeted by pablo (great guy) it took a minute to figure out my food would be compensated but as soon as they knew everything was good. I ordered the veggie surprise with shrimp and I loved it. My waitress was very nice (forgot her name) and the other gentle man was amazing as well. I'm glad I took the offer of the free entree. I will definitely be back again. Thank you guys for making the experience amazing. Bless!!

We ordered this tonight as a late night indulgence after a very long day and it was sooooo good that I had to write a review. First off, we called 15 mins before closing and they were more than happy to accommodate us. I had the Vietnamese Noodles Soup and it came with a ton of veggies and broth that I had to portion it out in 3 shares - and I still have one more left back for tomorrow. My wife had this delicious caterpillar roll -major props for presentation! She also had the fried gyozas which were amazing! Such a great spot, we can’t wait to try it again on another trip.

Food tasted pretty good and the price was not bad at all. Server was very nice as well as the buser. The building needs work though, the path way to the restrooms, the wall looks like it’s going to crumble. And then in the men’s restroom the graffiti is offensive.

  • 5/5 Jillian W. 4 years ago on Google
I had the potstickers and the oriental salad with chikn. Both were great! The potstickers were green and filled with soft veg. I wish they were a little crunchier, but the flavor was right on. The salad was fresh, the dressing was the right combo of sweet/sesame, and the chikn seitan was flavorful. I enjoyed Sipz quite a bit!

Amazing vegan food! UPDATE: Something must have changed with their management. This place gave me gastroenteritis. Before we had realized that sipz was the culprit, my gf ordered noodles from them and it was littered with bugs. An absolute shame, this place used to be fantastic.
