We had our wedding at Venue 808, so Social Tap Catering was our food vendor. First off, let me say how absolutely amazing they were. Jake, the chef, was absolutely wonderful and was so open to any suggestions we had in terms of what kind of food we wanted. They also opened the restaurant early one day just so they can provide us with a private tasting. 10/10 stars. Desiree, who is the catering sales and event manager was PHENOMENAL. We probably bugged her with so many questions, and she was always so kind and helped us out whenever we needed. Plus, the sweetheart table and chairs they provided us were so beautiful, so we were definitely thankful. Finally... our wedding was during an away game, so Social Tap was going to close at 10. However, after asking Desiree if we could do our after party there, she immediately said "yes," and that they'll keep the bar open for us. We definitely did not want to keep the staff up just for us, but she was so kind and insisted. To the staff that stayed longer to deal with us drunk folks, THANK YOU. You all were amazing, and really made our experience wonderful. Shoutout to Anna and Ryan who helped us out during the wedding too!! Overall, love this place, the people, and the food!!

Some of the worst service I have ever experienced. Came with four people, we all ordered, my food came soon enough and about 5 minutes later, the server let two of my companions know their choice of food was unavailable (we’d ordered 20 minutes ago, how was this not discovered earlier?). They order something else and we wait another 10-15 minutes. Our fourth companion’s food has still not arrived. We have to flag the server over to follow up - no apologies at all. Eventually that comes and shortly after that, one of the remaining two receives their food. At this point, the server is actively avoiding our table. No ownership at all. We have to follow up again on the fourth person’s order. Finally, her food comes, cold. No apologies, no discounts, and a server would wouldn’t even talk to us face-to-face. Mistakes happen, but multiple mistakes is a pattern and a total lack of ownership shows a lack of care for your customers and a lack of interest in fixing the problem.

I have been to this venue many times. It’s a great spot for viewing sports and the service is friendly and very attentive. Social tap is a hidden gem in the middle of downtown San Diego and is by far the best spaces for viewing games with friends. You can hang at the bar solo or get a group for dining… both the indoor and outdoor spaces are enjoyable to hangout. They are also dog friendly! I’d highly recommend checking out this venue and getting the chicken wings with your friends. The venue is very good for catering to any type of situation regardless of it being a casual drink at the bar, hosting bigger parties, or managing large crowds like after sporting games. The staff does a great job of keeping up with local & all sporting events, they are very good about playing the volume for local sports teams, and they have a great layout with plenty of TVs to view multiple events at once. I prefer their truffle fries and chicken wings. LFG

Awesome spot for drinks and upscale bar food! First of all, the location looking into Petco Park is unbeatable, plus they have tons of TVs for showing all the games. The food was also delicious...I highly recommend the Brussels sprouts appetizer, duck tacos, and warm skillet cookie for dessert. There is a good selection of 15-20 craft beers on tap, plus cocktails and wine, so it’s definitely a great option for a nice bar experience with tasty food.

A great place to hang out with friends, watch sports together in a large group and also for occasions like birthday, new year or any other celebration. Sitting arrangement is good and atmosphere is so lively. Order size is sufficient and has good quality. Also, menu has various options.

Loving this place! Not only do they have great food, prices, environment, and staff. They are also a great client of ours. Jake, The GM, has taken on Blackbird Beverages and gave us "small guys" a chance. The team enjoyed the complexity of our nitro cold brew and decided to carry us on as part of their menu. For this I am grateful to know a company that supports a small local business like ours. Hoping to see us grow in the downtown area and all over SD! ♡♡♡♡♡ Julia Quitugua

Really enjoyed brussel sprouts appetizer. So good!😋 My friend practically ate the whole plate after saying she didn't like brussel sprouts. Lol Attitude was excellent! It was a pineapple express double hazy IPA.🍺 Tasty and the service was really friendly.🥰

Other places were packed so we walked a little farther and found this place. Good food, good choices, very reasonable prices. Outdoor tables if you like, or indoor with lots of tv’s and loud music. I actually wish the music wasn’t quite so loud- hard to be “social” when you can’t hear the person next to you! But overall, pretty good place. Gluten free options galore, vegetarian too!

Great sports bar/restaurant. The menu was a bit limited and the food didn't have as much flavor as I would have liked, but for pub/bar standards that is pretty up to par. The staff were great and it had a great sports bat atmosphere. Can get busy during baseball season as it's next to Petco Park.

We had Social Tap cater our wedding last Saturday and they absolutely blew it out of the water. The food was as good as it was when we had our taste test!! Our guests raved about it from our apps to our meal and we wish we could have events all year for them to cater. We were taken care of so well with prompt responses and the tasting had us feeling like a king and queen. All our guests dishes were exactly what they needed when it came to their dietary preferences with zero mistakes. 10/10 recommended. Thank you so much!!

This place used to be good, but last two times have been below bad. Went on Sunday for NFL - Chicken on the Chicken & Waffles was chewy, a bit gross, all I got is an apology. Friend waited almost 25 minutes for nachos. They had plenty of TV's but a bunch of repeats while 2 games weren't even on. Don't think I'll be going back any time soon.

Loved the atmosphere, the drinks tasted good, the food was great. And ball park is right here. What's not to like? Service.

Brant and the Social Tap Catering team were amazing! They catered our wedding at Venue 808 in August 2022 and we cannot say enough good things about the quality of their food and service. When we scheduled our tasting Brant was very helpful in recommending the appetizers and entrees that are most popular and would go over well with our guests. He was also very patient with us as we asked him a ton of questions about the process. He worked with us very closely to craft the perfect food and drink menu and we received several compliments from our guests on how delicious everything was. Our personal favorites were the vegetable spring rolls and the poke cones that were passed around. For our entree we chose the duo plate of short rib and chicken and it was a winner among all our guests. The flavor combination was delicious and we liked the ease of not having to track meal options for 150 people (except for dietary restrictions - which they made super easy as well!). In addition to the wonderful food service, the bartenders and cocktails were five-stars! Each mixed drink was absolutely delicious and they took the time to make sure every cocktail was crafted perfectly. We’ve been to weddings where the bartenders didn’t know what they were doing and the drinks reflected that, but that was not the case here as each bartender was very knowledgeable about what they were pouring and efficient in serving all our guests. We also added on a specialty bartender for the speakeasy activation and he shared insight about all the different types of tastings he was pouring. The speakeasy experience was both educational and delicious! We loved everything about our bar and catering. Brant and the entire Social Tap team went above and beyond to make our wedding a special experience for both us and our guests!

My favorite sports bar in downtown San Diego. It’s still busy as you’d expect by the location, but way less so than Bub’s. They tend to have places to sit down and enjoy watching games. Their food is good for pub style food, and they have a good selection of beer.

A huge round of applause to Brant and the whole team at Social Tap for the amazing job they did for our company holiday party! The entire team was blown away by how well everything was taken care of. From the awesome atmosphere, delicious food and overall service - it made our event a major success! Can't wait for the next one!!!

Fast and friendly service. The charcuterie board was pretty awesome, The chicken tacos however were very disappointing. The chicken was dry and although it said it came within avocado crema, there was MAYBE a dime sized plop on top. At first I thought they forgot it until I spotted it barely there. No salsa... Nothing. Just a tortilla with dry chicken and a plop of avocado cream. I asked for salsa and it made it bearable. The brussel sprouts were very good but some were undercooked. One of my friends got the ahi tacos and they looked decent. My other friend got the South by Southwest salad. It looked pretty average. I'd say from a food perspective we were disappointed considering the reviews were so good. The location of this place is downright Cool, pretty much in the park at Petco Park. Our server was super friendly and fast, there were TV screens everywhere to watch anything you'd like. The bar was big with lots of seating and the interior was open and airy.

This is a very good place to hangout before, during or after a baseball game. You'll see a lot of places and most of them are truly packed, while this one being closest to the Petco Park is not that crowded. The food, specially the wings are really savory, good size to share with two-three. And the service is more than good. I definitely recommend this place.
