A restaurant that has definitely earned the title and reputation as one the nation’s top restaurants. The flavor and texture of both proteins was outstanding. The garlic paste really compliments the proteins and gives them that edge in flavor. The hummus had terrific texture and flavor. It was smooth and velvety. The flavor was very sophisticated. As for the tabouli, it also had good flavor and very well seasoned. When all of them combine they just burst with great flavors.

This place is legendary! Just had the California Shawarma and nearly wet myself in ecstasy after taking the first bite and then adding on the incredible hot sauce! I’ll definitely be coming back to try other menu items. Staff was also very friendly, helpful, and patient. There was only 1 other person in line when I got there at around 4:45 as well. Also the Shawarma was huge but I didn’t feel overly stuffed after scarfing it down. Thanks

DELICIOUS! Was in SD for work and decided to hit up this food truck. Nothing negative to say. I wish we had Shawarma Guys in Florida!

I hardly ever review any business but this one deserves a review. This place has everything that makes a good business. The food is wonderful, the people are great and they remember who you are everytime you show up. I wish I could honestly give more than 5 stars.

Definitely has been on the to visit again list for a freaking LONG time! Does this food truck deliver on the hype? Wellllll….. yes. Of course it’s on the “visit” again list for a reason! The experience is probably just your average food truck except for everyone who works on the truck are probably the sweetest most welcoming crew at just about any restaurant or pop up or food truck you can think of. The start to this review is and always should be the garlic paste ohhhh baby YES!!!! On the normal Portnoy scale that I review everything on this is a solid 9.1 The ever delicious shawarma egroll is EPIC at a very worth it drive of 8.6 The sandwich I’d give a solid 7.5 because I am well traveled and have ate this magical sammich around a good part of the 🌎. If you want to enjoy fantastic food …. Yes you need to quit dropping the ball and get your butts to the truck!

So we actually intended to eat at a different restaurant but as we were walking the aroma of the shawarma grabbed us and led us right to this food truck. First time here, and we ordered the shawarma fries(chicken is standard) and the dolma(rice only). Both were tasty. The dolma wasn't too oily. The chicken shawarma was very tender and no hint of dryness. Very hearty portion of fries with enough meat included. The staff was friendly and told us since it was our first time we had to get the hot sauce...glad we did and I'll recommend the same, and this place!

I love the shawarma chicken plate with tabbouleh salad and hummus. The falafel is also good. I like that everything seems fresh - “Del día” as Mexicans like to say 😁. Since it is a food truck, we love to get it go or we enjoy a picnic at Golden Hill Park a few minutes away. The liquor store is right there if you need some water. Parking has never been an issue for me. I love Mediterranean food and have tried many others, but Shawarma team on Grape is the best! I have only found two better places, one in LA and one in Riverside homemade by and Egyptian grandma. 😋

Probably the best shawarma spot in SD! Got the half and half shawarma plate and it is basically 2 whole meals. I will say the chicken was better than the beef. The falafels are a must order and were amazing. The pita bread was OK but could be warmed up a lil bit. Definitely worth the money!

Words cannot describe their food, well maybe one word... DELICIOUS. We always order the falafel as a side to most entrees. The Fatoush Salad with beef is incredible and is a full meal unto itself. Don't hesitate, get here ASAP. And while your waiting, go support the friendly liquor store.

This place used to be so good but lately IDK if the cook changed or what changed but the meat don't taste as good anymore... Each time I come back and order , it gets blender and blender... I am disappointed.

If you never win a Nobel peace prize, if you never scale Mount Kilimanjaro, if you never get to behold the beauty of the Auroras...You MUST try Shawarma Guys. From the first bite (which shamefully became an unchewed inhale because it was THAT delicious) of the chicken Shawarma fries, I began to believe that there is a heaven in the hereafter, and the streets of that heaven are paved not with gold, but with Shawarma fries. Kinda goofy, but my mood instantly spiked after finishing the fries and sent me on a creative bender; that meal was not just good for the tongue, but I think it was good for the soul as well. The summation: tangy, smoky, savory, and tender. They deliver on giving a good ratio of meat to fries here (I had extra chicken left over!) The portion even for a half tray is enough to get you full when coupled with a soda. Thanks to this place, I've found my new Shangri La. The only advice: go to the actual truck for takeaway because the list price was a couple dollars cheaper than when I ordered through UberEats the previous day. I took the time to write this review because I don't ever wanna see this place disappear; I legitimately need their food in my life ♡♡♡

We finally stopped by here after hearing so much hype, and were not disappointed. After a half day at the nearby San Diego Zoo, we picked up some Wagyu Beef Shawarma Fries, Chicken Shawarma Fries, and the Falafel. The beef was super tender, and everything was exploding with flavor. I will be back.

I have been to shawarma guys a few times and every time I’m more than satisfied. The food is always served quickly and the customer service is friendly. They have large portions and it’s reasonably priced. Unfortunately there isn’t much room for seating outside the food truck but it’s worth swinging through to try.

I also wanted to try this place after reading all the online praise. It's good, not great, based on a Wagyu Beef Shawarma Pita Wrap I had today. It was also deserted at about 2:30 on a Friday afternoon. They don't provide any place to eat your food so you'll have to figure that out. I ate in my car. The wrap sandwich was very high quality but bland, IMHO. The sriracha sauce they provided helped. The sauce was sweet, very tomato-y and with a mild amount of spicy heat. I don't know if the word Wagyu has any meaning these days, but the beef was ultra-tender and very beefy tasting. It just didn't have any interesting spicing or flavors beyond that. The pickled veggies on the sandwich were very tasty, my favorite part. The pita itself was very different from the Greek type. Thin and crispy, even a little hard but in no way stale. It was a generous amount of food for 12 dollars even though I prefer a quality Greek-type gyro sandwich to this one. Personal taste. There are a few parking spots for the adjacent liquor store you can use and you can buy your drinks there as Shawarma Guys sells no beverages. If the lot is full you'll likely need to find a street spot in the adjacent residential neighborhood. I am curious to return and try their falafel, hummus and tabouli, all favorites of mine.

As a middle eastern I say that the food is far from being Mediterranean taste, it looks like it though! We visited them today for the first time and tried Beef shawerma, Chicken shawarma and Cream chop non of us like his plate ☹️ There are many many other restaurants in SD that sells a real Mediterranean food with the authentic taste and way cheaper. I gave them an extra star (not only one star) because they have a fast service

Yelp reviewers have voted this place to Number 1 in the US. 4 hours later I am finishing the left overs and still think it's delicious, but it isn't perfect. Especially the Dolma, do not buy them and Schawarma guys, stop selling them unless you are used to mushy rice with very little flavor. I do have an assyrian middle eastern mother that makes them a thousand times better. Everything else was close to perfection though, not a fan of hummus but yours was awesome, the meat rice and sauce were delicious as well. Great job!!

Food is more on dry side. Chicken wrap was not tasty at all! didn’t had salt or any spices it looks delicious no doubt but, sauce saved it! Wish they had actual hot sauce or white sauce so food is not that dry

Update new review: Shawarma is definitely the best of the best!!! If you haven’t tried it and you live in San Diego, you shouldn’t miss out on it. Because their food taste is legendary. I highly recommend the Wagyu Beef Shawarma, it comes with hummus and tabouli, and some pita bread pieces. It’s my husband’s favorite. My favorite is their Falafel, I will say it’s the best falafel in my life. You have to try it!!! Anyways, you should come to check it out. They are pretty popular on everything in their menu. Previous review: This is probably one of the best shawarmas I’ve ever had. And your know, this truck is very famous already, but I still want to say, you have to try this if you haven’t. I came to shawarmas guys before and we ordered a beef shawarma and falafels. I was amazed by the falafel and I think that’s the best falafel in my life, and yes, it still is. This time, I ordered a pita wrapped beef shawarma, it is super super delicious. There’re so many meats inside the shawarma! For the price, it’s very worthy. The flavor is strong, but not over. I just love Shawarma guys, probably it’s the spot that I’ll bring my friends to try if they come to visit.

Solid spot for tasty shawarma plates and pitas! The chicken or beef pitas are great! Don't forget the sauce! The wait can be a bit long, but worth it.

I love this place, but today is the second time in two months I was given the completely wrong order. It’s way too expensive to not even get the right food. There definitely needs to be some training or discussions regarding attention to detail.

Would definitely go back for the beef egg rolls! Pretty cool that they use wagyu beef for all their beef shawarma dishes. I got 3 pita wraps and the egg rolls- pitas were chicken, beef, and falafel- they could definitely use more of that magical toum (garlic sauce) but they were still pretty tasty either way. The star of the show were the crispy egg rolls filled with delicious beef shawarma, topped with toum. I’d definitely go back for that. Their pita chips looked pretty legit too!

  • 5/5 Corinna H. 1 year ago on Google
This is my favorite take-out in all of San Diego! We always get the wagyu beef shawarma with extra rice instead of tabouli to make it gluten-free (we verified that the saffron rice is gf). The garlic spread on top really makes it and the size is generous so there's always leftovers!

  • 2/5 Kelly M. 2 years ago on Google
The reviews for this place are stellar, so I thought I would try it for lunch. Needless to say I wasn't too impressed. It tasted like a 7$ pita sandwich at a 13$ price point. I expected more in the way of flavor. It didn't have a true Mediterranean taste. I felt the flavors didn't blend right. Like the cinnamon taste was super strong, followed by a major blast of pickle juice, washed down with the garlic oil. Also, my fries that cost 5$ were EXTRA crispy. I couldn't even eat them. Hard Pass.

They don’t sell drinks. Wagyu beef shawarma was boring but the chicken roll was really good.

  • 5/5 Jack M. 4 months ago on Google
These guys rock! Over the years, I've had a variety of items from them. Let's see, all the Shawarma wraps rock! The wagyu beef is super tender and juicy, and the chicken is tender with great flavors. Their wings are crispy and delicious, the Iraqi salad is fire, the hummus fantastic, and the yellow Middle Eastern rice is bliss. You can't go wrong with these guys.

  • 3/5 Viviana M. 1 year ago on Google
Really fast service but flavor was a bit off for me. If you are not going to serve lamb then beef must taste great. Overall the food lacked salt. Best part was the rice and tabule.

  • 5/5 Tyron P. 1 year ago on Google
Top notch meat. Coming straight off the spit, it was juicy and tender. All the dishes we got here were quality. The owner and chefs were also very friendly.

  • 5/5 Wendolyn 1 year ago on Google
5 stars for flavor, freshness, and authenticity. The falafel was made on the spot and it’s both vegan and gluten free. Would highly recommend getting extra garlic paste- it’s delicious!! This place was also recently featured on the Food Network.

  • 3/5 Ossama G. 4 years ago on Google
While the sandwiches were pretty good, they're definitely over hyped. I tried both their chicken and beef shawarma sandwiches. Would definitely come back to see what other food items they might have on the menu. Expect to wait a long time for food as this place typically gets packed because of the hype. Overall experience and food was alright.

  • 4/5 Stephen M. 3 years ago on Google
Definitely tasty, but I wasn't as impressed as I thought i'd be. I got the California Shwarma (chicken), my gf for the cream chicken chop pita, and both just didn't seem cohesive... Definitely needed some sauce, and their red sauce was like sweet/sour sriracha. However, their chicken wings were awesome, great breading, flavor, and texture. I asked for a sample of their beef schwarma and it was melt-in-your-mouth-tasty. Coming back for the beef schwarma plate... Their chicken dishes lack luster.

Shawarma Guys is AMAZING!!! The service is great. There’s usually a line, but it does go by quickly. They also have a phone number that you can text orders to. Makes it very convenient for pick up orders. I have been there several times, but usually order to go (it’s easier to dine at home with kids). This last visit, my husband and I shared the Fatoush Salad with chicken and a beef shawarma pita. Today, my husband urged me to try their hot sauce (I don’t usually prefer hot sauce). O.M.G.!!!!!!!!!! It’s unbelievable! The perfect mix of sweet and spicy. I wish I could bottle it and pour it over everything! We also ordered the wings today which were phenomenal! Keep in mind, it took us 30 minutes to get home and it was still delicious. I can only imagine what it would have tasted like fresh! If you haven’t tried Shawarma Guys yet, I highly recommend it!

  • 3/5 Ursulla N. 3 years ago on Google
After having read this place was voted the best shawarma truck in the nation I just had to check it out. After having driven out of our way to do so I did not find that the food blew me away as I had hoped based on the reviews. I tried the shawarma chicken plate and found the hummus to be lacking and a little watery, the pita was cold and hard, and the garlic sauce reminded me of lard in its consistency while lacking flavor. If your in the area check it out but I would not go out of my way to do so. Disappointing.

  • 5/5 Johnny T. 3 years ago on Google
Had the chicken shawarma wrap and it was delicious! Need to come back for their other menu items

  • 5/5 Justin D. 3 years ago on Google
If quality ingredients have a taste, I would describe them as fresh, crisp and natural, yet none of those describe taste. Even still, that was my reaction to the chicken shawarma sandwich I ordered, it was as though i could taste the quality, or they're just really clever cooks. Either way, it was a really great meal that I'd recommend. Be prepared to wait a couple extra minutes as the food takes a bit longer than a fast-food drive-thru, but it's absolutely worth it and frankly should be expected as good food takes longer to prepare.

  • 5/5 Michael F. 3 years ago on Google

Excellent work on the social distancing, mask use and hygiene! I know the food reviews are all rave but in my opinion the food was just ok. We had the falafel pita and the chicken pita. They were satisfying and filling, but not the best I've had. They also mislabeled our food (C was falafel and F was chicken). It happens.

Solid food. Will be back to try more.

  • 4/5 Omar E. 3 years ago on Google
The lemon chicken was unique and quite good. The rest was not significantly better than other shawarma I've had and not worth the adventure of driving all the way out to the truck.

It was my first time coming here and it was absolutely delicious!!! We came at around 6:30 PM on a Tuesday and it wasn’t that busy. 10 minute wait though. But totally worth it. I got the beef shawarma fries. I would definitely come back! (Sorry I forgot to take a picture when I first got it).
