This was truly so terrible. I’ve stayed at motels before but nothing as bad as this. We walked in the room and it stunk of cigarettes. Within 30 seconds of walking in we saw several cockroaches, the bedsheets had stains, and there was a sizable gap between the bottom of the door and the ground. I’m not usually picky at all and I’m fine with roughing it, but this was honestly not fit for humans.

Stayed in Nov on Vacation. Was out and about for the most part so the room was great for what I needed. Stayed 4 days. My only issue was with the toilet. I did call down about it not flushing, they said they had a plunger down stairs went down and then told me “another room had it and hadn’t brought it back”, other than that it was great for my needs. Very close to the McDonald’s, Taco Bell, Denny’s & Aunt Emma’s.

My husband and I stayed in room 143 on Christmas eve. Around 6:30pm my husband used the bathroom and noticed a bug crawling up the wall. I looked at it and wasn't sure what it was. Later he sees one crawling on his white shirt as we were laying on the bed. We get up and notice one crawling on the bed. He killed it and blood came out. That's when we noticed a couple on floor. We left as quickly as possible. In the middle.of the night I woke up to itching and realized it was bed bugs. Do not stay here. It is dirty and disgusting.

Customer service at front desk needs a lot of improvement. They are rude. Facilities are outdated. No housekeeping is offered for extended stays "due to covid". If you need anything refreshed ( towels, sheets) they need to be brought into the main lobby for exchange. A lot of sketchy people around and at the hotel. Laundry facilities are disgusting.

The room was dirty, especially the floor. AC unit smelled like mildew. Staff wouldn't give my girlfriend 2 room keys when checking in even though the reservation listed both her and I. WiFi was terrible and we had to go outside to get a decent cell service like the building was blocking the signal. Verizon and AT&T both had the same issue. Nice grass area for dogs in the courtyard area and good parking for oversized vehicles and/or trailers.

I don’t get how some people get dissatisfied here. The staff was very welcoming when I came earlier than my check in. When I came to check in around 6 pm earlier, I talked to Angel to add another adult to my reservation and he is straightforward and did it professionally. All staff around this Motel 6 are good. I only don’t like the way the lights from the outside can shine through the gaps, but it’s fine. I am very satisfied with my stay here and I will come again.

Horrible customer service.‼️ My mother asked the housekeeper for towels. They said that “we don’t give towels to stayovers because of “Covid”.“ We went to the lobby to get towels the first time, but the next time we needed towels the housekeeper gave us pink towels because supposedly they give pink towels for stayovers, even though last time they gave us white towels. When you go to switch rooms for a longer stay, they put a balance on your previous room so you can not switch without paying even though you paid everything up to date. Not only that they never clean the community microwave, they also choose to leave it unkept and unsanitary. The staff will argue with customers. and they’re unaccommodating for special needs. Not only that this was a 14-day stay. They never clean the pools nor they do not allow people to enter the pool area because of Covid although all the water parks are open. It makes zero sense when chlorine and bleach merge so the viruses and bacteria should not be inhabitable. They are lazy. You do not get a microwave or a fridge in most rooms nowadays. You're looking at 100$ a night here it's not worth it. 😠

Avoid this location at all cost, there was black mold in the room I was in, And there is other reviews stating the same. The room smelled of dust and cigarettes, the property is not upkept it’s filthy. The mattress are never replaced they are so worn out, I can’t believe they have the audacity ! To ask for reviews. Do better.

This Motel 6 is quieter than the one in hotel circle. It also has a McDonalds , Black Angus and gas station right next door. It is very convenient. The staff are very friendly. Plus we can bring our dog with us at no extra charge. I recommend this location.

Well I know you get what you pay for, however, the fact that is a national chain even so it may be a small one you would think they would clean the pool, have towels in the room and housekeeping could understand that someone forgot them, in lue of saying you have to wait 3 days to get a fresh set. Then when you get the front desk to understand that no towels where in the room, the set of towels we were provided were so small and thin you could read a paper through them. Last time I rush to find a room, not impressed or happy.

I am very contented with my experience here at Motel 6. I am very satisfied with my stay. I was greeted by a young lady named Maryjane, her customer service was fabulous. Her energy was very welcoming and she accommodated my needs without having to wait. Over all I enjoyed my stay!

This place is trash. Booked a room for 3 days and the room they gave me was infested with bed bugs. Not only that but it was dirty, and smelled funky. When I asked to speak to the manager they claimed she went home and we had to stay there until the next day. I ended up booking somewhere else and left.came back the next day to ask for a refund. They gave me partial and said I would receive the rest after pest control came and verified the bed bugs in the room. However after I contacted them a few days later they said I wasn't getting it for cancelling the booking.🤦 I wouldn't have had to cancel if they would have provided a clean room to begin with. This place is a joke. Unprofessional and the whole time this was taking place , some of the staff was rude. Whome ever stays here stay away from room 356. I highly doubt they got pest control in there. I would never recommend.

We were turned off before Check in by female employee who signaled us to go away and come back at 3pm or after. Office was closed. We left and came back at 4pm there was a line to check in, we had 2 rooms and I noticed the ironing board and iron on the counter. I asked if we had to come down together one or if they were in room. I was told it was in the room. No it wasn't and it was not a big deal. But when we came down to get it the same female employee told the supervisor we were lying and had not been informed that they were in room... she continued to argue. The supervisor apologized for the mis information. I said thank you, not a big deal just don't like to be misinformed as we required a iron and board. The location is great? Rooms were clean and bed comfortable. I know they are not high end hotel but can change the cheap expectations with giving great service. Just a thought. Appreciated the help of the other staff as they were very helpful.

All these good reviews were from last owners. This place has,no late check out. If you check out pass 11am. You will lose your deposit. They do everything they can to take your deposit. Slows staff on check in of any hotel in San Diego. ONE PERSON And you will not check in before 3pm. Not before. Motel 6 was bought out 2 weeks ago. NOT ALL MOTEL 6 ARE LIKE THIS.GOOD LUCK STAYING HERE.

We were given room 102. The floors were absolutely disgusting. Totally unacceptable. They were caked with dirt and looked like it hadn't been moped in a very long time. I had to keep cleaning my son's feet everytime he went to the bathroom or did anything in the room. I have pictures but can't post on here for some reason. This place is terrible. I'm never staying here again. This is totally unacceptable! If I could I would give this place 0 stars.

This place has the nicest and interesting employees to welcome you in the lobby for check in. The prices are always cheaper than most and the location is awesome. Right in the middle of everything. Also, there's great restaurants all on the same block as the motel. Trolley is right across the street and a convenience store right next door. It's not a fancy place, but it's a good place to take a breather and rest your head. And hey...they will even leave a light on for you!!!

This is a great motel to consider if you are looking for a clean and comfortable place to stay for a very reasonable price. The location is incredibly convenient and the staff are super friendly. I definitely recommend this place to others, as I will return if I'm in need of a motel room. Keep up the great work Motel 6!!!

I stayed at this location back on November 18 and I had a really bad experience. I needed a quick place to stay while I travel through San Diego and this location was the closest . I came in pretty late at night and the guy at the reception kept giving me problematic rooms. I checked out 2 or 3 different rooms -- one had a strange odor, another one was too far in the back . I had paid cash for my stay so asked for a refund so I could leave and fins another hotel but suddenly the guy found me a room close to the front where I could see my car. After I settled into my room a really strong body odor surfaced-- as if a lot of activities were going on in this particular room. I went to the front desk but no one was there. The next morning I complained but the woman at reception said only the manager could process the refund. She recommended that I call back when the manager is in for the refund to processed. , I've called in 2 or three times but the manager is never there. DO NOT STAY AT THIS LOCATION!

It was good but we were hearing a conversation upstairs. The good thing is if you want to get breakfast you can go to the nearby McDonald's and you can also get gas there. You can also go to the MTS Blue line to get to the city of San Diego getting off at 12th and imperial or American plaza and other light rail stations.

It's absolutely the worst. The staff are the worst at all. Especially the manager. Unfortunately, I am still there because I have driven from Pennsylvania to San Diego and have no other choice. On the first day I was sleeping in the west at 1 pm and I found a drunk person entering the room while I was sleeping with my dog. And they gave him my room number. I was going to fight him, but he's gone. Because of that, I spent the night with my dog in the car and asked them to cancel the reservation, but their response was without any politeness or professionalism. She said, No, we do not cancel or give discounts. Can we change the room to the top floor? I told her no, my dog is big and can't climb. And she never apologized for the mistake that happened. Unprofessional and rude. And the room is full of insects and these pictures. I reached the administration and they did nothing. A small situation like this could change your life if it happened to you Im still there 133 room number

This was a good place to spend the night. Although there were no drawers to put away clothing, no fridge, and no microwave. It was still a decent place to stay, and it was clean. The door to our hotel room was not insulated properly. The crack underneath the door was very big and you could basically hear everyone walking by your door

Had a very relaxing time. Everything you need was within walking distance. Front desk persons were very helpful, polite & friendly. Respectable crowd renting. Just a thought ... Hire cleaning people that love to clean and you will be 5 stars in no time. Lastly, enforce your "no smoking" rule. PET FRIENDLY!! :)

It's the old saying "You get what you paid for.". Staff friendly and courteous. Check-in was fast and easy. Rooms are moderately clean Motel filled up the two nights I was here. This place was not my first choice by any means. Had to come to Chula Vista on the spur of the moment because my uncle was hospitalized and was placed in a convalescent facility. I am his only family member. Would have stayed a Marriott Residence Inn but that facility had no vacancies. Should yI decide to come to this area and want to stay in a facility rated 3+ stars or more you will need advance reservations. This facility is fine for people traveling through the are and need a place to stay for the night but it not a place to stay if you are here for a short vacation.

My husband and I got a room here due to our flight being scheduled for the next morning out of the CBX/TJ airport. We got there around 7:30pm and the first room we got to had blood splattered on the couch. We let the front desk know and they gave us another room which seemed fine at first, but later on we saw roaches in the restroom so we just checked out and took it as a loss. The only positive things would be that the lady that helped us at check in was nice and there’s a McDonald’s and gas station within walking distance.

Although the ladies and some of the gents in the front were super polite, I got tired and annoyed having to ask every day to have my trash removed bcuz the trash cans are the size of my purse, and of asking for additional toiletries (those could get awkward). I stayed for 4 nights, so I had plenty of time to be able to form an opinion. They allow pets, and I saw dog poop in the grass, again for days, so I had to micromanage where I or my daughter stepped. Overall it's ok for one night, but I wouldn't recommend it for longer than that. It's next to a McDonald's, Black Angus, and the freeway. Plenty of parking, the room was clean, but I had to keep it that way. If you're looking for convenience, this is your spot, but don't expect much else.

Literally a place to shower use the restroom and hold our stuff while we explored. Sleeping was impossible. Very uncomfortable beds, ridiculously thin walls, for some reason every night we were there the guests where noisy and extremely rowdy, a fight broke out every night in the middle of the night security did nothing. To much light omitting from the outside parking lot lights. Room service never came on any of the days we where there. No amenities if u need anything such as shampoo it will cost u 10 cents from the vending machines. Rooms were not as clean as u'd expect but decent.. Front desk was a bit rude but I imagine they where fed up of the even rudder guests staying that night. Idk if it was a bad night or if the hotel draws these type of guests because of their low prices. You get what u pay for I guess. I will definitely not be staying there again.

Decent place to stay for the price. Nice staff. Room was extra roomy! Deluxe Double room had 4 massive windows! Lots of sunshine! Mini fridge and microwave. No real closet however there are places to hang clothes. Animals are allowed! If you make reservations online and then need to stay an extra day/night, you have to make another reservation online. You can't just pay cash for the one day. No communication between room services and front office. They attempted to enter my room after I added an extra day to stay. Lock on door needed extra screws. Small things need fixing but you get what you pay for. Make sure your ID is in perfect order, no stickers, or else they might not check you in. Mine was fine but my adult child's had a change of address sticker on it and they said it was fake and I needed to have it replaced. First time ever having a sticker issue on a government issued ID. Overall stay was nice. There's plenty of food choices, fast food and restaurant, within walking distance. Motel is also a block or so from I-5.

After a long trip while we were getting ready for bed laid in bed and found bugs in the bed. Checked the reviews and someone a week ago stayed in the same room and had BED BUGS! Went to speak to the manager to receive a refund for the night and the second night. Was told I couldn’t get a refund for the first night until pest control came out to confirm it was bed bugs. Showed the manager a picture of the bug in the bed and a screenshot of the person who stayed in the same room and had the same issue. Asked if she knew that was an issue a week ago why would she still rent the room out. That there’s no way the bugs could be removed in a week. She said oh no that was a different room that lady wrote the wrong room number. She said since it was the weekend there’s no way pest control will come out. She said by Wednesday they should come out. Sooo she says.

  • 3/5 Sybil J. 2 years ago on Google
The room looked clean and small, but that's what we wanted. Unfortunately the mattress is broken and we had to sleep two people in half a queen bed. No breakfast is normal but putting a price list up stating that a microwave was $6 per day and the fridge was an additional $8 per day brings the price up to the same as a much larger and better equipped room.

Love this Motel 6! It is very affordable, around a lot of food places. Living conditions are great as long as you keep your room clean you will have no issue with bugs. Staff is amazing!! Very friendly and welcoming, they check on you daily to make sure your good as far as sheets and towels if you stay multiple days.

had to stay at this place for an emergency. personally I didn’t like 1. how they don’t have shampoo or bodywash in the room 2. the light in the bathroom is too environmentally friendly 3. the window faces the rooms of other guests and the corridor, so to have privacy you must leave the curtain down 4. hygiene of the room is so humble (stains on blankets and the bathtub) 5. front desk does the minimum only 6. has a pool but you can’t use it

It was okey for the area being in. Staff was friendly and nice. Just wish they had more help because they do get busy. They accidentally gave me an occupied room and I walked in a sleeping client that got pretty bothered by that. And the second occasion was when I had asked for an iron they took over 34 min to get into me while I asked if I could go to the front office and picked it up which I ended up doing. I feel like this hotel needs to be remodeled and touched up for the price they ask for.

One of the worst hotel experiences I have ever had. Arrived a little before 3 and they said they could start the check in process but we couldn't get a room until after 3. Received a parking permit and had both my wife and I's id's scanned so we figured at 3 we would come back and get the keys to the room. Well at 3 there was a line out the door which took 45 minutes to get to the counter. Once at the counter, they told me they had no clean rooms and I'd have to wait around 15 minutes or so. When I finally got the key to my room, I drove over to the room and went upstairs to it only to find out the key didn't work. Back to the office where I had to wait some more time only to be told that I probably demagnetized it by having near my wallet which I hadn't. Go into the room with stained comforter and a huge depression in the already thin mattress, undressed to take a shower only to find out after hopping in that there was no soap or towels. Sent my wife back to the office to get towels where she had to wait but finally gets some. All this time we are rushing to get ready for a concert - the whole reason we booked a hotel in Chula Vista. Arrive back to the hotel after the concert to bags of trash sitting all long the walkways of the hotel. Then fighting over who got the side of the bed with the huge flattened spot. Absolutely ridiculous stay. Never again. Cannot believe Motel 6 corporate doesn't say anything about how this place is run.

It's 4:05 pm now. Check in time is 3:00pm. The line was moving slowly at 3pm so I returned at 3:25pm. In the 25 minutes I waited in line, 3 people who had checked in came back because they didn't have towels. I was told my room wasn't ready at 4:00pm and that my card had already been charged. I'd signed up to pay when I arrived. I said since check in is at 3:00pm, I'd expect an extra hour for check out. I was told I could "if the room is available". I'm still waiting for my room. I was told I'd receive a call on my cell phone when the room is available. I will never come back to this location. I have never had such horrible service.

  • 1/5 Chris U. 11 months ago on Google
Had to wait till 5:45 for the 3:00 check in. The room was cleaned but the bathroom smelled horribly of cigarettes smoke. We couldn't even use the bathroom because of it. We just kept the door closed. I said something to the staff on check out but they said it must be coming in through the vent wich wasn't the case. I think it's soaked into the paint but what do I know I'm just the costumer. They get 2 star because the bed was more comfortable than it looked.

  • 1/5 Kathleen B. 10 months ago on Google
The staff was friendly but the following could be improved: There were blood stains on the wooden floor next to the bathroom. There were no face towels, no floor mat towel, no hand towels and there was only one pillow (this is a room for 2 adults). When I called the front desk to ask for towels they said they did not have any. Afterward, I walked to the front desk to enquire about the pillows and I saw them give another guest some towels. So I asked for towels before I enquired about the pillow and they gave me some. Why did they tell me over the phone that there were none? Then I asked about the pillow and they said they did not have any and that they would give me a 10% discount. We never received the discount even after I asked about it upon leaving and was re-assured we would get it. Also, I noticed that my room rate (obtained from Motel 6 website) was $50 more than the people walking up to get a room. I asked about it and the man at the front desk said he could not help me with that. He was the same individual who offered the 10% discount and did not follow through. We stayed for 3 days (2 nights) and upon returning to our room on the second day, we found out they do not clean the rooms. We travel to different areas on the west coast for our fishing trips and have always preferred Motel 6 but we were extremely disappointed in our stay here and will not stay here again.

I have been staying here numerous times over the last three weeks. I understand that they are short staffed for housekeeping. But that is no reason for Angel to be rude and disrespectful. I could understand if he was having a bad day. But everytime we check in. Otherwise the rest of the staff are awesome and friendly

For the most part the customer service is excellent except for Angel. I understand that the housekeeping is understaffed. But there is no reason for his disrespectful attitude. This is not the first time. Angel has been rude to me. I have stayed here numerous times over 3 weeks and he is rude all the time

It doesn't do justice for the name because everything was so terrible from the environment which is the safety and security part to the amenities like the TV doesn't work ice machine doesn't work laundry facilities doesn't work so many transients walking around... And there was a total of 6 full and spilling trash bags right in front of the elevator!!! So glad we got the first floor! Hopefully the owners can fix this because their location is the best to stay because everything is around them like a AM/PM for gas and snacks McDonald's, Black Angus, the freeway lots of food places and the Metro both bus and trolley... Not a good place to stay right now again hopefully the owners will fix it up... Until then I don't recommend going there till they clean it up ...

When I arrived to my room it wasn’t clean. So I called the office to let them know and they had maid service clean my room which took about 45 minutes. Then they didn’t have any towels they said they would have some later in the office for me. When I returned they only provided me with 2 big towels no wash cloths and there’s 4 guess. The next morning I went to the office to complain about towels and they said they would send some right up. Didn’t receive towels until 12:00pm. We had to keep harassing different people for towels. I will never come back to this place ever again. Service is terrible.

  • 2/5 Christopher K. 1 year ago on Google
There were no towels in both of our rooms, and the front desk would not provide any after 10+ hours. Floors were very dirty, our feet are black from walking around. While a scumbag like myself doesn't deserve much better, I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone I love.

  • 2/5 Eve 1 year ago on Google
My Room was clean & decent. Only disappointment was I asked if the Laundry Room was open, night shift employees said yes and i can do it in the next morning during operation hours. But the next day i went and it was closed for repairs and they didn’t know. It had been closed for over a week. Communication is lacking here from staff. But over all this hotel is not to bad for the price that you pay. Not recommend for a single woman or fragile person being alone here, due to the surrounding neighborhood looks a little bit sketchy.

Worst stay ever!! Had to get key replaced 3 times. Toilet overflows. Water pressure sucks. Vending machines are bare and I kept getting woke up by barking dogs in next room. I should have brought my tent it would have been less stressful.

This is the best Motel 6 I’ve stayed at hands down. And I’ve stayed at my fair share of Motel 6’s that have just been horrible. I see all these horrible reviews on this hotel and I honestly don’t get it cause I had no issues. Yes I people were loud and yes you hear sirens and see cops but honestly your gonna see and hear that no matter where you are or what hotel your staying in. The room they gave me was nice clean and fresh. Beds were made, toiletries were stocked, had clean towels and I can say that most Motel 6’s don’t have everything it needs in one room. I also have 3 messy crazy kids so we used a lot of towels with cleaning up messes and showering. When I called the front desk they brought them to me right away and took the dirty ones with them. One thing I really enjoyed about this location is the staff. They were welcoming and very nice. I even met the GM at this location cause I wanted to let her know that out of all the Motel 6’s I’ve been to this one was hands down the best one! So this review is for the Staff and The GM there at Chula Vista Motel 6 thanks for making mine and my families stay there a great one to remember. We will be back!

As soon as we got there, 4 police cars were parked on the side of the motel, arresting someone. Not really the motel’s fault I guess. However, when we checked in, as soon as we opened our room door, we noticed the entire room smelled like someone just smoked a cigarette. There were also no towels or hand towels whatsoever for us to use. You could tell the countertops and chairs etc. were NOT wiped down thoroughly. I asked the front desk for towels and the person manning the desk wrote down our room number and said he’d bring us the towels. 6 hours later, we still don’t have towels, and the front desk man left the office and locked it. It is now 3 am and the couple in the room next to ours is going at it as loud as possible. If I could give less than 1 star, I would.

It was a very bad experience. We paid for two nights with my partner, the floor was very dirty, there were no towels or blankets and when we went to the reception to ask they told us they didn't have any. As soon as we entered the room we began to feel the smell of cigarettes which was penetrating. At night we tried to turn on the heating so as not to feel so cold but it was very dirty and it was very disgusting. We went to the front desk to ask for a refund of our money, because we were leaving the hotel and we did not want to stay the next night and they told us that it was not possible. Which I thought was quite unfair because we were not going to use the service anyway. In the end we left without our refund and we really felt robbed and ripped off because in the pictures the hotel does not look of that quality. NEVER GO to this place to stay, they have the worst service, it seems that they don't even clean the rooms.
