Amazing pizza and even more amazing people. Love this little pizzeria. I work in the area but never really get an opportunity to order from them because of a schedule conflict. I've managed to eat here twice but it would be almost weekly if possible. They have great Neopolitan style pizza and quality ingredients. The sauce is simple but perfect. The dough is spot on and probably in the 65% hydration range. Once baked, the crust has the perfect burnt leopard spots as one would expect from this style of pizza. 100% recommended. I'll be back when possible.

Ordered melanzana and buffala take away. Good they have $5 off on a Monday night so the price was fair. Was expecting more since 4.9 stars rating is pretty high but there's far more efficient and delicious pizza places in Melbourne. Food handling by the staff is shocking, took my cash and went on to put toppings in pizza! Lol

Hands down the best pizza place in this area. They have a cozy courtyard for dine in and my partner and I love sitting down for some mouth watering pizzas. People are nice and always welcoming. The gorgonzola pizza is by far our favourite.

Delish pizza with the best crust. The added eggplant was so tasty. We didn’t like the garlic pizza/bread much as we thought we were getting garlic bread. This was kind of plain crust with garlic pieces on top. The crust still really good, but won’t re-order that. The margherita pizza is def recommended. Would go back for it for sure. Staff are nice and attentive.

The most amazing Italian cuisine in Kensington! Pizza is just divine, full of flavour and just delicious! Pasta (we had the gnocchi ragout) was just amazing. So creamy and full of flavour, the meat just melts in your mouth. 5 stars!!! Will definitely be revisiting this place for years to come.

It is one of 3 or 4 local pizza shops to me, but it is the only one I go to after trying out the others. The best dough, the best ingredients, the best taste out of all. The others use commercial ovens whereas this one, as the name suggests uses a clay oven with actual fire in it to give the pizzas that authentic taste. And the garlic bread, they put a handful of cloves on it, not crushed garlic, big big cloves. If you want a nice tasting pizza, come here.

WOW. I was picking up a package from the post office but was starving, so I walked in not knowing what to expect and had my mind blown. The staff were all super friendly (shout out to Mack!) and helpful and my food came out hot and super quickly. I had the Margherita pizza and the spinaci con piscelli. I think that was one of the best margherita pizzas I’ve ever had in my life. I’m excited to return and try their tiramisu & some of the other pizzas. Don’t sleep on this place!

Came here for dinner on a quiet night. The staff are so lovely! And I love the cosy atmosphere at the back where there is more seating. The pizza is delicious! Definitely order yourself any of them. The gnocchi pesto was lacking in flavour but sometimes that’s the roll of the dice!

This place is chaotic as hell but I think it adds to the experience. Best pizza in the area, pretty good price, and watching the staff take orders and make the pizza is like dinner and show in itself. Always ready super quickly as well.

Best Pizza in Kensington and surrounding, the pizza base is just the best! Take away is super easy and fast for pick up. Eating in is also very nice, small place but cute atmosphere in the back room. The homemade Lasagna is soo good, too!

We love the pizza here, it's the best we had in Melbourne, and we know our pizza. The tiramisu was the best I ever had in Melbourne as well. We definitely come back for more and the staffs and owners also very friendly. Highly recommended

Highly recommend for a date or a large group. Has a big table available for bookings. Staff were very friendly, but seemed a little flustered and inefficient. However they were helpful and kind, so no worries there. Food was delicious. The pizza crusts/bases were especially good - crispy and flavourful. Toppings were fresh and delicious, with simple topping combos that can't be beaten. On street parking. Highly recommend.

We stopped by for an after work quick dinner. We used to order fancy pizza here. Clay Oven serves amazing Neapolitan pizza. Yummy bread and great mozzarella make great meal. Place is great and very courteous staff. I am coming back!

One of the best pizza places in Melbourne hands down. Their Margarita Bufalla is amazing. The toppings are really high quality, the base and sauce are delicious and the flavors once cooked in the wood fired oven just tie everything together. This place is a must and any cheese lovers should go straight for the margarita pizzas. You’ll find me here at least once a week.

Love this pizza joint. Staff are amazing and friendly but most of all they have one of the best pizza I've ever had. I personally love their margherita and garlic focaccia but everything that I've tasted were really good. Would highly recommend this place.

I had the Carne pizza for my first experience at Clay Oven tonight after my friend recommend me to eat here. The pizza was absolutely delicious and the restaurant definitely deserves it's high rating. The staff were friendly and chill, the overall atmosphere was perfect for dinner. I would recommend this place to anyone and I'm certainly visiting again! (Excuse the photo quality...)

Saw the really good reviews and thought I’d try this place out. Ordered the salsiccia. Worst pizza I’ve ever had in my life. The pizza was burnt on the bottom, the sauce was acidic which told me it had not been cooked properly, and the “sausage” was not real sausage. It was literally a grey colour and it tasted off. I got 3 of my family members to taste it to make sure I wasn’t going crazy and they all spat it out. To the restaurant’s credit, they were kind enough to refund us. This isn’t real Italian food.

Amazing little pizzeria, staff is super friendly, competent and helpful. Pizza is hands down one of the best in Melbourne. All in all just a great place, extremely recommendable.

Homely neighbourhood place with the most authentic Italian pizza dough I've had in a while. Combined with a well thought out menu makes this place in my top 3 in the north melb/kensington area to return to. Seating area is not large so best book ahead for bigger groups.

Simple but yet nice and comfortable place. And most importantly, Prosciutto Bianca! Best pizza in Melbourne by far and best pizza I have ever had.

A nice place to try a pizza from a clay pot oven. Ordered a sea food, lamb and a nataella desert pizza. The place is small and it's hard to find a table and parking. The waitstaff are helpful and the food was awesome.

This is an excellent family run establishment that makes quality classic oven baked pizzas. The bases are superb and the toppings, although not overly generous, suit our palates to perfection. The staff are great to deal with, too. 5 stars.

This place. I cannot even begin on how cute and rustic it is. Beyond that the food is just absolutely amazing. Hands down the best pizza..well to be honest not only the pizza but everything there is just reaaaaaallly good. And a small shout out to the people running the place you guys were really nice, added on to the whole experience of eating there! A good variety of pizzas cooked in amazing home made oven; very friendly service. However, the pizzas (after several visits) are a little too salty. Tasty; but up all night drinking water.

Delicious pizza and lovely staff! We've tried the Salsicia, Lamb, Hazelnut Chocolate Calzoncino and the Tiramisu and they've all been so good - will definitely be back for more!
