This is tucked away on a small one way street next to Darna and I’m glad I got to try it out. Inside there’s so much seating and bonus points for a parking lot too. It’s small and a little bit of a tight squeeze but if you’re lucky enough to fit into a space it’s very convenient. Otherwise there’s plenty of street parking around. I ordered their iced pumpkin spice latte which was delicious. Service was quick and I came during a quiet time. I hope to come back and maybe work remotely, it’s very spacious and their food menu looked good.

Getting in and out of the parking lot is a little difficult, but it's worth it. The bagel breakfast was really good and we enjoyed our iced coffees. Will be back!

A cool and comfortable local coffee and drink bar with plenty of tables (inside and outside) to come chat with friends or work on your computer. I didn’t try the food because I didn’t see many non-gluten options but the workers are kind and I’m sure would answer any questions you have. It’s all made fresh and everyone around me looked like they loved their food. The coffee was wonderful, and not just because of the beautiful latte art. The music was a bit loud inside for my taste for the long term but it’s much softer outside, which has just as comfortable seating!

Great place to do work/homework while having the option to have some coffee and a bite to eat. Spaced out and an outside place to sit. Chill ambiance.

Enjoyable brunch in this cafe. Try avocado toasts. There are many options of croissants and pastries. I love them! Very nice staffs (that's the most important thing) and I want to visit here again to explore other menu. Reminder: tiny parking spots‼️

Such a cool and unique coffee spot. I love the decor and artwork and the outdoor seating is great. The coffee and food are great. Only complaint is parking is super tight.

Rode 14 miles on my electric ⚡️ bike to try out the coffee and food here. The chicken sandwich is the best in all of DMV area. The chicken is fried to perfection and sits in between fresh Brioche bread. Way better than Popeyes chicken sandwich. Also the fries are amazing. Fresh.

We've been coming here almost every weekend since we discovered it last summer. The breakfast burritos are what hooked us and every breakfast/brunch dish we've tried has been delicious (The Magician especially). Vibe inside is really cool and outdoor seating in the summer is comfy. Decided to finally write a 5-star review because we got the most amazing latte art today that blew us away.

Great coffee and atmosphere. I come here every once in a while with my dog as their patio is dog friendly

Unassuming on the outside but 100% worth the visit!! The coffee is fantastic and the food was fresh and came out quickly. Service was so pleasant. The food was fantastic. We had an egg BLT and the beef empanadas, both were flavorful and fresh!! A lovely place to spend some time for a slow morning -- highly recommend a visit for some delicious breakfast and coffee.

I stumbled upon this charming cafe while searching for a spot to grab breakfast, and I must say, it was a delightful surprise. The first thing that caught my eye was the inviting outdoor seating area, which was just perfect for enjoying the morning breeze. What amazed me even more was the availability of parking spots, especially for Arlington! Seating inside has many options, from high tables to benches and lounge-style chairs, catering to different preferences. The ambiance was cozy and relaxed, making it an ideal place to unwind, chill and also work. Now onto the food and drinks - they were really good! The coffee was rich and flavorful. All food is halal. Each dish was prepared with care and tasted delicious. What truly stood out, however, was the exceptional service. The staff went above and beyond to ensure a pleasant experience. She was so patient with us and how we were asking about everything and her recommendations. Definitely recommend

Cute little cafe to spend time and get yummy food. Breakfast burrito is so good that I forgot to take a picture and ate it right away. The service is pretty good. It is expensive but it is worth it. I also tried their fresh orange juice which comes in a bottle and it is pretty expensive for the size but it is also very delicious. The best part is it is halal and the vibe is so good. Coffee and croissants are also great/fresh. Highly recommended!

Came here on a Saturday for breakfast and coffee. I ordered the old reliable but asked for it on a croissant. I also ordered a mocha. The sandwich was $10 and coffee $5.50 which J thought was reasonable. Sandwiches come with home style potatoes. I felt this coffee shop was average. Sandwich was good but nothing too unique just your average bacon egg and cheese. The coffee I felt was slightly weak and slightly sour. I've definitely had better coffee. The vibe of the place was great, 90s rock playing, booths and lounging chairs. The staff were super nice. Parking is a nightmare. They only have about 6-7 spaces so ended up having to parking about 2 blocks down on the street. Overall, i would say this place is average. Nothing to write home about but decent food and coffee is okay if you're looking for a place to hang out.

Such a cozy and welcoming space in this Arlington coffeehouse. Plenty of tables and electrical outlets for those looking to work remotely:) Lots of food options from sweet to savory. My latte was delish!

A cute little establishment with wonderful service and tasty good. The portions were fabulous and the coffee decent. The loss of one star was due to the coffee being a little weak.

Great place for coffee and a quick bite. Food is delicious. Currently, they're offering a limited menu. Indoor and outside dining available. Food is served in to go containers and fresh off the stove. Moderate prices for the area. Parking lot available.

My favorite coffee shop in Arlington. It’s located in a pretty unassuming place, between a jiffy lube and an urgent care, and walking distance from the very popular Northside Social (which I feel is kind of overrated). You won’t be disappointed by the coffee, the owner is very particular about the beans they use. The price seems fair, not as expensive as other shops nearby. The two times I’ve been, I got beautiful latte art on my drinks. The vibe is perfect here, plenty of comfy places to sit, study, socialize, or even take in a nice day outside on the patio. The food is also really great. They serve full on lunch and breakfast here, not just pastries. Give Detour a try, I don’t think you’ll be disappointed.

Absolutely incredible experience at Detour. I got the Bikini sandwich which was delicious. I also got the Mixed Berries pancakes and they were heavenly. I got the Habibi Latte (not pictured) and it was great. You can get it hot or iced. I got the iced one & it was satisfying. I definitely recommend this place.

A cool coffee shop. There is outdoor seating which is nice to hang with friends but the view is of a gas station. A bit overpriced for my liking, over $15 for a chicken sandwich and over $6 for a large iced americano. The inside has plenty of seating and a nice ambiance.

The espresso based drinks are fantastic. The coffee is great and the milk is steamed perfectly. Definitely the one of the best coffee drinks I've found in the area. The food and drinks are a bit pricy but you get a good serving size of food.

Habibi latte now is my favorite coffee drink, the food and service outstanding. It’s my new favorite cafe in Arlington. And please bring Z&Z more often. ❤️

Great décor, very friendly staff, amazing and very tasty food (had "Across steak lines" and "Mediterranean" sandwiches) and reasonable prices. Easy 5 star.

Awesome spot with outdoor and indoor seating. Great drink selection with some snacks also available. I love that if you are not getting your drink to go, they can serve it in glassware vs to go cups. The decor and music created a great vibe, and the batista provided great service There is some parking on site I look forward to stopping for some coffee the next time I am nearby

Drinks are weak. Food is mediocre. And service is not worth tipping, barista is not friendly and cashier is not in-tuned to customer service cues like checking on the table even when the cafe is totally dead. The only thing I liked was the atmosphere and feel of the place.

This. Establishment is pretty cute for where it’s nested directly across the street from a gas station. I will say when you enter it’s a completely different world. (It was too busy and crowded to get the details of the ambiance.) I ordered “ the reliable” and the empanadas. The empanadas are an immediate NO for me. They are Not authentic tasting, the crust and filling was not desirable. Thankfully the good ol “reliable” sandwich was great. Big portion🙌🏾 And the breakfast potatoes, delish! I also ordered a latte with almond milk… I was hoping to get a cute mug with latte art like what I’ve seen in other reviews.. but instead I received a Togo cup🫤 and a latte that had so much foam it was basically a cappuccino 🥹 (I don’t like cappuccinos lol). After getting through the thick layer of foam, I WILL SAY! It was delicious! I didn’t get a chance to see where they get their espresso from. But it was GOODT🤌🏾 I wanted to order another before leaving… ☺️ Overall, it was a cute experience. The seating is not your tradition wait for someone to seat you…. It’s a “see a table and grab the table” vibe. I sat with some pretty cool couples. The staff were nice, efficient and friendly. The service was Quick! I’d go back… wouldn’t recommend going with a big group. But definitely a cute spot!

Stopped by for coffee to go. The staff were friendly. The coffee was fine but in the pricey side for the size. Has indoor and outdoor seating. We didn't try any food

Amazing staff. Good coffee. Delicious breakfast. We had breakfast twice here during our vacation. The second time they remembered us and knew our preferences in breakfast and coffee/tea. I suggest this place to anyone want to start their day in a great mood.

Detour is cozy, beautiful, and the coffee and food are fantastic. I ordered a Habibi Latte and Beet Orange Salad, and look forward to ordering both again. I’m a little particular about latte’s, but this one was perfectly balanced.

😐 We came on a lazy Sunday afternoon. The cafe wasn’t very busy. I had great expectations, and was disappointed.
