👍👍 Mee Goreng is authentic and delicious. I had rice with beef hitam (not sure why they call it “hitam”) or rendang. In short the taste of the beef rendang is authentic but the beef is a little tough and dry. Overall the serving is good and the price is reasonable. People often mention curry, Nasi, authentic, Malaysian, Malaysia, good, meat, rice, nasi, roti,

I reckon their Nasi kandar taste better than the ones I had when I was holidaying in Penang! Generous portion and great service! There are so many other dishes that I wanna try out! Will definitely visit again! 😋😋

Very good nasi kandar and Malaysian-Indian cuisine. Very authentic. The curries are very good. They also have roti banjir (bread with loads of chicken curry and soft boiled egg) and pasembur. The roti is superb.

Apr 2023 Recent renovations starved NKP’s fans for 2 months. Restaurant is now open and us guzzlers could not get enough of the fabulous food. Thank you, guys Terima kasih banyak. Jumpa lagi 😍😍😍😍😍 Ahhh! The fragrance of Penang Nasi Kandar fills the restaurant and you know the food is going to be delicious. I was not disappointed! Loved the food, service was not bad either and I could not resist using my fingers to eat the dishes Malaysian style! The restaurant is not big, they have a front and back seating areas. There is a wash basin for those who, like me, want to taste the food through the fingers. 🤤 The chef/cook is from Penang hence the flavours in the various curries they had just transported me back to Malaysia. Love the food and will go back there for another treat, another day. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ Update Oct2022 Still the best mamak food and the friendly banter remains entertaining.

Tasty nasi kandar served by friendly staff While the fried chicken was quite ordinary, the curry squid and well-cooked rice generously "showered" with about four flavors of curry made up for it.

Absolutely disappointed with the Nasi Kandar I received from a restaurant that named itself after the dish. A single chicken drumstick for the meat dish and two small pieces of eggplant for the vegetable dish. I had to ask for extra veg. My meal felt like I was mainly eating just rice and curry. Does not match the advertised photos and poor value for the $11.90 paid.

Happened upon this place by chance and boy am I glad we did! From the moment you walk into the restaurant, you know you’re in for an authentic experience. The wall of aromas from the curries cooking in the back hits you, and the familiar setup of a nasi kandar shop in Malaysia puts you at ease. More importantly, the food was exceptional. I have to give a special call-out for the goat curry. Thick, flavourful, pungent in all the right ways, coating the delicious cubes of goat meat which were perfectly tender and had the right ratio of fat to lean meat. The roti canai was also really well executed - flaky on the outside, a slight chew on the inside and good buttery (margarine-y?) notes throughout. Doesn’t get much better than that.

Authentic food combined with the atmosphere, you feel like you’re in Malaysia. The food was delicious and service was great. They are open late so you can dine in typical Malaysian fashion.

Nasi Kandar Penang is a fast-food eatery in Springvale, specializing in Malaysian curries. Interestingly, they also offer some varieties of Indian curries. Their hallmark is rich flavors and generous portions, catering well to customers seeking a filling meal. However, the focus might not be on presentation due to the emphasis on affordable pricing. Those who value ambiance might find this aspect disappointing. Additionally, their chili is notably spicy, so it's advisable to refrain from trying it if you have a low tolerance for heat.

The Nasi Kandar I had here was amazing! Tasted just like home (Malaysia) where I’m from. Would definitely recommend visiting this place if you’re looking to try some authentic Malaysia Nasi Kandar. I miss it already

Authentic street Malaysian street food! You will notice the locals come down here and it does get packed. Probably hands down the best Malayasian street I've eaten in Melbourne. This place is a gem! Flavours are very rich, punched with full of flavour and meat. Nice and tender meat and not a piece dry. Portion generous and very affordable. I would always come here again whatever you eat from their store is not a disappointment!!

One of the best if not the best nasi kandar in Melbourne. Authentic and original just like how they do it back in KL and Penang. The most popular item on the menu is rice with serve of meat and one vege. The curry is mixed with the various curries available and on top of that it's also abundant (read banjir). Some of the dishes are spicy, and not adjusted to suit local spicy level which makes is 100% more authentic Also tried the rojak, the kuah was just perfect balance and not too sweet like some other places. Roti banjir with curry and half boiled egg, perfection. Will definitely go to try out some other dishes in the future.

Great Malaysian place. Flavours were amazing and serves were generous. Make sure you choose the fish curry and I would always pick the 2 meat and 1 veg set as why wouldn’t you?

Every bite brings back memories of my childhood in Malaysia. Definitely one of the most authentic Malaysian food in Melbourne. Worth traveling 30 mins just to eat here every time. The roti canai is freshly made and is so fluffy and tasty, I always order extra takeaway to bring home as a snack. The curries are busting such rich flavor that makes you wanting more. The teh tarik is strong and well made. The furniture and decor are simple just like in Malaysia. I’ve been here 3 times in 2 months and would come back again if I’m ever nearby. HIGHLY RECOMMEND for anyone wanting a real taste of Malaysia.

Hidden gem of a place in Springvale for malaysian food lovers. Food that we have tried - roti prata with curry, nasi goreng, mee goreng, mee rubus, rice and curry set from bain Marie. Every single item we ordered tasted authentic and full of flavours. Portion sizes tend to be on the larger side, and the serving staff are very friendly. They serve extra curry serving with smiles. Definitely a place a worth visit 😀

Great authentic food that's almost as good as Malaysia! Apart from the nasi kandar (which obviously is great), roti telur was one of the best I've had in Melbourne. You'll also notice that the place is packed with Malaysians, so that should tell you something.

The food portion was large but quality was somewhat questionable. We ordered a set meal and a side dish. The gravies / curry wasn't cooked for long as the curry powder tasted raw. The drinks we ordered were great. The kids had roti canai and they loved it

If you love "Nasi Kandar" a popular Indian Muslim Food of Penang, this is the place to go......the fried chicken is recommended as every piece is well marinated and very aromatic 😋 Also recommended item is the Fish Curry....a must if you eat Nasi Kandar. Sadly though Black Pomfret is not used for the Fish Curry.....instead, Golden or White Pomfret is the choice. Awesome place and enjoy the food on every visit.

This eatery offers many varieties of Indian Muslim (Mamak) dishes. Highly recommended is the steamed white rice with fish curry and the fried chicken. Mee Goreng is another recommended dish....fried noodles. I love the, teh c kosong which is tea with carnation milk and no sugar. Check out the eatery for other items available to satisfy your taste buds.

Big portions and good variety of dishes to choose from. U can also order from the a la carte menu. Authentic Malaysian style nasi kandar. Nasi lemak is very good. There are also kuehs available and curry puffs. Will def be back to try other items on the menu.

Food was horrible. I tried set menu 3 served by 3 meats and 1 veg so i took crab, fish and chicken fry with chilli and 1 veg. But I was not satisfied with the taste and hygiene of the food. After eating I was not feeling well and my stomach was feeling uncomfortable. Disappointed and Not Recommended.

I was pleasantly surprised to find Malaysian food in Springy!! We ordered: 🍚 Nasi Lemak with Fried Chicken 🍞 Roti Telur with Cheese 🍜Mee goreng Honestly felt like we had been transported back to Malaysia, really authentic food!! I rarely order nasi lemak out, but really enjoyed this one. Roti also reminded me of the ones we had in Malaysia, and if you haven’t tried roti with cheese you are missing out!!! Pretty sure they use plastic cheese as well which is my weakness. Only downside was service was verrrry slow for some of us 🥲

This restaurant has been newly renovated and has ample seats. The menu is very extensive. I had the 3 meat and one veggie with rice ($24.90). The two meat and one veggie were $18.90. The mutton curry was delicious and reminded me of home. Arrived at 12pm and only a few tables occupied. The ventilation in this restaurant could be better as your clothes tend to smell like the food. To those who miss Malaysian style curry and food, this is the place to visit.

Nasi Kandar (Mixed fishes on rice) is the best. Their curry is the best regardless what meat or seafood. It is full of flavor and many different choices. Their maggie goreng is really good. Pasembor had lots of surprises inside the dish, it has all different texture, esp. the sticky cake. The price is on average. Delivery service is good, food delivered still warm. I am sure I will try their next menu once lockdown finish :)
