The hotel says it was updated but it was very outdated. The shower and toilet were full of grime. We tried to turn the heat down in our room cause we like to sleep in a cool environment and all night we were sweating because the thermostat would not go below 69 degrees. The coffee maker was absolutely filthy. When we were at the hotel bar, I literally watched illegal activity in front of my eyes - it is illegal and unethical to funnel liquor back into a bottle after it’s been poured. I will not be returning to this hotel. The reason I gave 2 stars was because the staff at the hotel were absolutely friendly, welcoming and accommodating when I requested a lower floor.

It was a nice stay overall. The only issue was the non-availability of staff for house keeping. I called a day in advance for house keeping, but they failed to fulfill the request after committing to it. They didn't even reach out to inform that they can't send someone. They informed me that they are out of staff only when I called them to inquire about my request for house keeping at the end of the day. A bit disappointed. Other things were fine.

This was an absolutely terrible hotel. The front desk staff is rude, the rooms are dated and the cleanliness is absolutely disgusting. The bathroom, the room itself was filthy, dusty and dirty and this felt like a hostel as opposed to what it should feel like at least, a decent hotel. If not for the fact that I used free nights for my stay, this would have been a total disaster of a stay. The location is convenient, but overall, Marriott should be ashamed of themselves.

Work conference had a room block here and it was an excellent stay. The rooms were clean, the beds comfy, and even the wifi worked! Only thing is the showers don’t have doors… which was weird. But, it was a nice place to call home for the week. Location was great, too. Close to all the stadiums, convention center, and Rock n Roll museum. Easy to get to food or have food come to you. Never had an issue getting anywhere without a car! And the views… loved the downtown scenery! Last bonus point came from the complimentary waters and morning coffee. While breakfast is an extra cost, free drinks were great!

Gorgeous, modern, upscale, top notch hotel in the heart of downtown Cleveland! Excellent location for all major events, attractions, restaurants and shopping in the city. This was my second visit to this hotel. The hotel was relatively new my first stay. My recent (second) visit, the hotel still looks and feels brand new. The decor, furnishings and fixtures are modern, sleek, crisp and immaculate. One of my favorite features is the wonderful, unique chandeliers in the lobby! My guestroom was quiet, spotless, comfortable and average size for a hotel. All the "creature comfort" amenities are available in the guestrooms, as well as a very spacious bathroom. Guestrooms are well appointed and furnished, decorated with many hues of the color blue (my favorite color!) My visit to Cleveland and the Westin Hotel was a brief one night stay. Therefore, I was unable to experience and visit many of the hotel's numerous amenities. However, after two enjoyable, pleasant stays at this hotel, I can assure you all of the hotel's guest amenities and services are superb. I highly recommend this beautiful, upscale, full service, centrally located hotel!

The hotel is modern and clean. It's conveniently located, but the lack of service puts this on the same level as a pay by the hour motel. During a holiday, on a weekend, with a wedding party present, to use the word "understaffed" would be a monumental exaggeration. Having employees present isn't the only part of being staffed. The employees also have to have mental ability and, in our case, the drive to perform the job. The bar/restaurant staff didn't seem to want to be physically present, and you could see it in how incredibly slow they moved. This may not be a 5 star rated or a high-priced stay, but this will be my last stay. I would rather stay at a Motel 6.

The rooms and service were great but the hotel was not clean. I understand due to covid they would not clean your room daily but the elevators, lobby and all the common areas were very dirty. I stayed there 4 days and the floors in the lobby were never mopped or polished. Same in the elevator the doors were never wiped down or disinfected as you saw multiple fingerprints on the stainless. The ledge on the lobby windows had a lay we r of dust and all the glass doors and windows were filthy. Before I left the Eagles had come to town to play the Browns and this is what they saw also. Disappointing 😞.

Most of the staff we interacted were very friendly and helpful. We did ask for a glass (one was missing and one was dirty) but the front desk rep said they wouldn't bring one up. We also asked for coffee cups (both missing) and they were never brought. Floors were dirty and the tub had a lot of wear and tear. There was nothing terrible about the stay but it didn't feel worth the cost in the end. The location is great but I would opt for the Hyatt Regency (similar price point) next time.

I always enjoy stays in Westins, particularly for their comfortable beds. In this one, rooms seem to be rather dated and could have better soundproofing. Shampoo and body was dispenser was missing in the shower. I checked in at midnight and was informed that breakfast/brunch is served till 1pm on Sundays, awesome! I came to the restaurant at 12:15, to be informed that kitchen closed a WHILE ago, because it was too quiet! This got me really upset. When I checked in last night, they knew the occupancy and could have coordinated the opening hours in advance. I purposely waited till later to go eat. The restaurant staff was rather unfriendly and although they gave me free espresso, they also made very obvious how much I was bothering them with my request. So 3* for comfortable beds, 0 for dining.

Checked in later last night . The room I got gave me a weird feeling. Could NOT hang my clothes in the closet. I think it was a handicapped room. The refrigerator was dirty , lamp shades had dirty spots all over them. Didn’t sleep all night asked for a different room after wiping everything down for a second time saw a huge red stain on the closet door, called down stairs for housekeeping they gave me a 3rd room! Wiped that one down again , I was so exhausted from not sleeping I laid down on the bed and saw trash on the floor under the desk. This hotel is disgusting. Then at 6:00 pm I’m sleeping as I need to be up early someone is banging on my door. I woke up to the banging again and went to the door . They banged on it so hard and asked if I called for lotion. Now I’m wide awake for a long day ahead of me tomorrow. Will not come here again.

We got to the hotel and immediately there’s a man asking for money in the lobby, nbd. we didn’t know there was wasn’t “affiliated” parking, so we spent the extra money on valet. there’s no room service whatsoever/not many food options.. had we have known, we would have chosen a different hotel. Burn holes in the desk, coffee cups that don’t fit under the coffee machine (burnt my hand with the glass cup provided). The deal breaker was the bedding that wasn’t so white… Streaks, spots, paint, & yellow stains all over the mattress cover. Kinda gave me the creeps. We stayed at the Toronto hotel and loved it but this was nothing like that experience.. 5 star hotel price for 2 star service/accommodations. Website shouldn’t say room service if there is none.

We stayed at this hotel for a long weekend during the weekend of July 9th. This hotel was incredible from the cleanliness to the warm and friendly staff everywhere you turned. Another huge perk was the breakfast buffet each morning in the restaurant. It was reasonably priced and all items were plentiful and fresh. All staff during the morning hours in the restaurant were wonderful and friendly. They also offered complimentary coffee. The front desk staff was also extremely friendly and helpful recommending some local places to go when we asked. The room was also spacious and comfortable with no issues. We plan to come back to Cleveland in October and will 100% stay here again.

Right in the middle of down town, room was lovely very clean. However air-vent had lots of dust, i should've called sure they would've changed it. Rock 'n' roll Hall of Fame is walking!! Gym was SO nice very large with lots of equipment options. There is valet available not sure how all the other parking works . Looking for a place to stay in downtown. Highly recommend.

Front desk staff are great. Breakfast food and staff also great. An older property but well run. Valet “service”, however, is not so great. You essentially are just tipping someone (who hangs out inside) just to give you your car keys back. There’s no luggage valet service so getting from the curb to your room is a bit clunky. All in all a good property. If you don’t have a car to deal with, it’s closer to a 5.

I used to work security here, it's a nice place. Really good food 🍔 & it's in walking distance for anything you wanna do in downtown Cleveland. It's close to First energy stadium 🏟️. They also have a really nice gym for exercising. 💪 There's also valet parking and not to mention the staff has great customer service. Only thing I'm not sure of is if there's a hot tub or jacuzzi in any of the rooms but I can imagine the suite rooms might have more to offer 👌👌👌

The people who work there were exceptionally sweet. The front desk agents were very friendly and helpful, especially Liz, who has to be the best representative of your company. She went out of her way to ensure that I was comfortable with the room. The housekeeping staff was very friendly and helpful. A must stay for anyone planning a stay in downtown Cleveland for business or pleasure, because I know I will again.

The room was clean and quiet. Beds were comfortable. Valet service was helpful and timely when we used it. The food in the restaurant wasn't great, and there was no room service option. The shower was absolutely terrible. The water pressure was so poor I literally couldn't wash the shampoo out of my hair. I had to turn off the shower head and actually put my head under the tub faucet to clean my hair. Super disappointing. Overall the stay was OK. I certainly wouldn't hurry back.

All an all this Hotel was very nice. The one thing that made me not give it a 5 star was that it didn't have USB plugs in the room. I thought that odd. The power connections were regular plugs and old fashioned phone jack plugs. Truly I'd give it a 4 and 3/4. That was the only thing I could say wrong. The front desk staff was very nice...Shout out to Ms. Young. Thank you for your hospitality. Also the banquet staff for working so hard and making us comfortable. The restaurant was also very good and priced well. I've stayed in plenty Hotels and ate in there restaurants. This was the first time I didn't fall over when I got the bill Lol. There are other Hotels in downtown Cleveland that are less expensive but the Westin definitely worth the money.

This is listed as a 4 star hotel, but honestly, I was a little surprised that I have stayed in two and a half or three star hotels where the rooms are about the same. I loved the bathroom, the towels were very nice and there is already shampoo, conditioner, and body wash set up in the shower. It was strange that there was no microwave in the room. We bought popcorn downstairs from their little store, took it up to the room and discovered there's no microwave. Although there is one right by where you buy the snacks that we didn't notice before. The staff is very friendly asking you how your stay is if you need anything every time you see any of them. There is no breakfast included which completely caught me off guard. We have stayed at other hotels in downtown Cleveland and they always have some type of breakfast included. The decor in the lobby areas was beautiful. The room itself was nice but nothing to write home about. In the comfy chair in the room we found crumbs, a couple of wrappers, and a fingernail or toenail underneath the cushion. I am glad that we had a deal on Priceline because they wanted from their website $146 more dollars or something. If I had to pay as much as they really wanted I would say no thank you. Nice place, but not sure the rooms are 4 star, at least the one we had.

I'm actually giving this a 3.5 star rating. I had the Junior suite with a city view on New Years eve. It cost close to $400. I guess I expected not to have to pay for parking at that rate. I've been at 3 star hotels downtown that have given me complimentary parking. I also didn't expect to have to pay $37 for said parking. That rate is completely unacceptable, and quite frankly, a slap in the face to anyone who rents a room at the Westin. To top it off, my date met me there. Which means we had 2 vehicles. You'd think maybe they'd at least only make me pay for 1 vehicle. Nope, we had to pay for both. Because of this, I will no longer be renting rooms at the Westin. Fool once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me. Outside of that, the room was nice. I will say there was only one small trash can within the entire suite. I didn't like having to leave the bathroom just to throw away a tissue. Also, the toilet flush button was corroded and looked awful. It worked, but needed replaced. The restaurant and bar was the best part. The food was good and the bartenders were friendly.

DO NOT EVER VALET HERE DURING AN EVENT DOWNTOWN. 1 hour later still waiting for my car. You’d think by paying $60 for valet service they’d have been staffed properly to handle the influx of people leaving the event and checking out of the hotel. Also they’re very disorganized. They don’t give you any ticket stub to hang on to when you come to pick your car up. So unless you take a picture there’s no way to keep track of how long your wait is.

Stayed down here for a quick getaway for our anniversary. Staff is absolutely amazing from the front desk, valet, general staff and restaurant staff. Literally everyone was so nice. Room smelled great(I have stayed in hotels where the room looks fantastic but smells musty. Not here). Room is very spacious and the view of the city rocks. I don't leave many reviews but very happy with the Westin!

Great staff, nicely appointed suite. Overall, a pleasant one night stay on a business trip. My only complaint is that everything was closed, no concierge lounge, and no bar or restaurant! As many hotels are opening more amenities, this is becoming a major point for my future hotel bookings.

  • 4/5 Timothy M. 1 year ago on Google
The hotel was very nice. It's located in a good location. It's a short walk to Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and a cheap Uber ride to the west side. Valet is a little hit or miss. It would be fine if your just dropping your car off and leaving it for a few days. However, it seems like the valet staff is over worked. We had quite a wait at times to get our car. We came close to missing a wedding because we didn't expect a 20 minute wait. That kind of service extended to the bar, too. The service is good when you can get it. Things tended to take longer than expected.

A decent location in Cleveland with a dated feel. Good check-in, only mixed up the room number, so only one return trip to the front desk. The room was mediocre. Looked clean but dated. Smelled bland, not overly perfumed, nor did it smell fresh. The staff is courteous and efficient. But there are better options in Cleveland.

Rude management and front desk staff. Most of the other staff are friendly and helpful. The hotel underwent a major renovation less than 10 years ago, but it is not holding up well at all. If you read some recent news articles about this property, you might get an idea of why. There are lots of other options in this area and I'd recommend shopping around, even if you usually stay at Westin properties.

Great hotel, however insane parking situation. We were upgraded to a lake view room because they were still cleaning rooms at the time of our check in which was about two hours after we were supposed to have checked in. It was a beautiful view if you like that kind of thing. Just be prepared to pay anywhere from $25-50 to park for one night.

This hotel was the best in the cleveland area! Rooms were clean and timely refreshed daily Staff could not have been nicer! Restaurant staff was great too. Shout out to Courtney. She was very kind to me during my stay and made it very special when she left me a gift! We need more like her in this world!

Room 1905 was without air conditioning for most of our stay. We reach out to the front desk and were told that someone would come take a look at it. The rest of the stay over 48 will saw no one nor was the problem solve. As gold elite members we ask for a late checkout and were told no that was not possible. I definitely would not recommend anyone stay at this facility. It was not up to Marriott standards.

Great Staff! Corporate decided to hold rooms even though there was a lobby full of people who’d already paid for rooms. Close to 100 people were forced to put there luggage in the lobby because our rooms weren’t ready. This is past 4 o’clock. After waiting an hour, we were told we’d get a call, I decided to stand in the mega line again. Magically they had a room. I had $1300 pulled from my account because I was charged 3 times. STAFF was AWESOME but rumbles of new management amongst the staff made it very clear the big guys were making the decisions (and $) and making the hard workers deal with the backlash. Staff shortages don’t explain why rooms were still available to rent while people were waiting for prepaid rooms.

It was NYE night at 6pm when we pulled up (so pls take into account) , but it took a good 45 mins to get registered with valet, which for 42$ in downtown isnt bad, until you add the 2, 20$ bils i tipped to have it parked and then pulled up. We ate brunch in the restaurant. I recommend the French Toast creme brule, Stay away from the apple cinnamon pancakes. Brunch was $70 after tip, so be prepared to spend some $$$. Unfortunately there weren't really options for late night food, but nice area in the light of day. Rooms were a bit outdated, our phone didn't work (which wasn't a big deal, I just had to walk to lobby for concierge service. Overall happy with our stay despite some of the negative comments I stand by a 4star rating.

Was in town for the Browns last preseason game. Hotel was in a great spot close to the stadium. Room was ok. Hall light in room wasn't working. Some outlets were loose. For the most part room was clean. Valet parking was a nightmare. Shortage of employees but no different than anywhere else.

Hotel is in the perfect area for downtown Cleveland visitors. Hotel staff, valet staff, and the ambiance/aesthetic of the hotel were amazing. Double queen room (when I had originally booked and paid for a king, we were downgraded without reason other than the hotel being booked) were decent. Cleanliness of the room could have been a bit better, and the pillows were more so sheets with very used cotton fluff in them. But overall, a good hotel and staff. That's why I'd come back.

Check-in was a headache. One of my rooms was canceled for no reason, I had just spoken to a representative while at the airport. They did comp a breakfast ticket for inconvenience. On my last day, they mentioned an additional charge. I spoke with someone who confirmed that no other charges will be assessed, and I requested a printout of my charges. Monday, I had an additional $100 charged to my account. After multiple calls, I was informed I'd be refunded. When you pay to stay at hotels with a higher standard, issues like this shouldn't occur. My friends had a better stay at Key Center for half the price.

Upon arrival, the smell was off setting. They used so much air freshener that it burned my nose. As someone who is sensitive to migraines, this is huge with me. There is nothing like starting a celebration off with a pounding headache. Luckily, our room didn't smell the same, or we would have left. The first lady we encountered at the desk during check-in was great. Very kind, looked professional, and offered assistance and information. Then it went downhill. When we got to the room, there were dog toys from previous guests. Guests in rooms next to us blared music so loud it could be heard even in our room worh door shut word for word. The elevators looked they had not been clean in a long time. Mirror had greesy finger marks all over them as well as buttons. Bugs filled the light above. We did not spend much time in the hotel until later in the evening. It took over 5 minutes of letting water run in the shower before I had hot water. Once I finished showering, the smoke alarm in our room went off from shower steam. There is no working vent in the bathroom, and the detector is just outside the bathroom door. Light's flashing in room with ear piercing alarm. Rushed to get dressed and called the front desk. Alarm shut off, but strobe light did not. The front desk said they would handle it from there. Waited 15 minutes, and the light still wouldn't go off. Called the front desk again, and they said they'd try again and it could take a minute. Why? Went for a walk for 30 minutes and came back to light still going off. I called a 3rd time, and finally, the light went off. Rediculous. Went to the lobby to get snacks, and gentlemen at the front desk was rude to guests in front of us and with us as well. He seemed annoyed he had to actually work. For some reason, we decided to have breakfast at the hotel restaurant before we got on the road. I believe our waiters name was Hermin, he was great. Very nice and attentive. He noticed my coffee mug was filthy and replaced it before I had even noticed it. The food, however, was ok at best. I had french toast that started out great. The flavor was good, but the center was raw in some of it. Soggy andninder cooked. The sausage had the oddest flavor and was so greesy. Yes, I know sausage is usually greesy, but this sat in a puddle of it. But again, this is not fault to our waitor, and he was very pleasant. As much as we enjoyed Cleveland, when we return, we will not be returning to The Westin.

Recently stayed here for a trade show. It's my third time staying here, but the first time since 2019. Wow, have things changed. The bathroom was clean, but one of the two lights was broken. The beds has clean sheets on them but the floor was maybe half vacuumed. One of the reading lamps was falling off the wall. None of these are things I would expect to find at a Westin. The hotel restaurant, formerly known as the Cleveland Kitchen, has been replaced with a no-name hotel operation. Extremely small menu (2 entree and 2 sandwich options for dinner), very slow service, but still priced like an upscale casual restaurant. No room service but they will package takeout... however that takes almost as long as dining in. The only thing still great about this hotel is the location.

When looking at the hotel from the outside, it’s s awesome. And the lobby looks gorgeous..However, the problem is the room. The room is out dated, but I understand. But the cleanness was far beyond expectation. Amenties were opened, and one of the complimentary water bottle seal was broken. I was about to drink it but it made the whole thing sketchy. For the price, I would try booking different hotel even after paying extra.
