Impeccable!! The waiter recommended us the salmon and the pasta, the mustard sauce was truly out of this world! We liked the apple tart better than the tiramisu, but that is just a matter of personal choice. They also have an excellent wine pairing menu. An actual 5* experience, will definitely come back again

The food was really good, the staff was very nice and friendly, good music at a decent level. Overall, a very nice experience. I think it’s a really nice place for a date, a celebration or a more intimate gathering.

The food is good, though a bit overpriced. This restaurant makes no exception from others. The indoor settings and the design are inviting and the overall atmosphere is cozy. The chairs are comfortable and the service is good; the waiters seem to be more professionally oriented. The "off menu" dishes are more expensive than their regulars. I had the salmon risotto with asparagus. It was well cooked and the Dijon sauce and oranges combination really did the trick. I enjoyed it over a night with friends. (Also, the background music caught my attention, a big plus)

One of the best experiences we've had in Cluj. The food is amazing and the staff are giving their best to deliver an authentic experience. The special dishes that do not appear on the menu are well selected and worth trying, had the best cooked shrimps ever. Prices are above average but not so expensive. Overall the whole place feels really cozy and posh, will come back for sure!

I recommend visiting this restaurant in case you are in Cluj-Napoca. The service was exceptional. Also, the food was really good and the recommended wine was the perfect choice. If you love pasta, you must visit this place - you won't regret it!

It’s our third time here and every single time the food was amazing. We tried their pasta, risotto and desserts. Unfortunately I didn’t take pictures of the food but I will leave some pics with my tiramisu. The staff was always nice, giving great recommendations. Definitely we will come back

We went for a 2 couples dinner and this was one of the worst experiences we ever had at a restaurant. The waiter was very rude, pushy, entitled and overall unfriendly. In a few instances he even “scolded us” as if we weren’t worth to come to that place. He made a few side comments as if we were uneducated guests. He was a tall guy, wearing glasses, with dark hair, with a total poker face (I am only mentioning this because I’m hoping that the restaurant management will know who’s the responsible person, my friend mentioned that there were friendly and professional waiters, too) and He offered the most unfriendly service ever and the food was absolutely mediocre for the prices they are asking for. We ended up paying a price as if you went out in London, however the food was basic, the service was terrible and the wine selection was even worse. We tried hard choosing a wine to pair our dinner with and even though the prices were really high, we hoped their selection will be good enough to match the level of the restaurant, but we had one of the tasteless wines ever. The service and wine at Ciao New York ended up in our memory as the lowest level we can compare something with. Never coming back, the waiter literally ruined our mood and dinner with his attitudine. The wine and the food didn’t help improve the experience. The seafood pasta was absolutely mediocre and the salmon with risotto was a joke, the risotto was just a sticky tasteless rice, no creaminess at all, nothing like risotto should be. This was not food we expected from such a place. I would recommend avoiding this place at all costs and spending your money in a different place :(

I chose to book a table at this restaurant because it is my mother's birthday and I read really good reviews on Tripadvisor. I had high expectations and now we declare ourselves more than satisfied. Once we opened the door and entered, we were welcomed by a waiter who is truly a gentleman, showing really good manners and posses soft skills. Since it is a place designed for dinning, the atmosphere is romantic, cozy, it makes you feel like you are at home. The low lamps and the candles from each table, add something special to it. We had sea bass cooked in the oven with potatoes and broccoli. Since I am not a big fan of broccoli, I can't say much about it but the fish was an absolute delight. It had a rich and creamy garlic sauce and the fish melts in your mouth. For dessert we had apple pie with salted caramel sauce and Tiramisu. Since tonight, it has become our new favourite place in town and we will happily return many many times. Congrats to the owners and to the staff for doing such a great job!

Had a very nice evening here. Good food and a nice and intimate atmosphere. The zucchini fritti were good and a bug portion for sharing. The pasta and service was also good. Was too full for dessert but the tiramisu looked very good.

Best dinner date ever! The place is not cheap, it’s quite expensive, BUT the servers were exemplary, the food was very tasty, and we drank the best wine. If you want Italian food, with a quality over quantity mindset then this is the place to go. I can’t recommend it enough!

Ciao New York was my all time favourite restaurant in Cluj. I say was with a very heavy heart. I started coming here back in 2021 and I was absolutely delighted with everything from the service to the nice cozy atmospheric and of course the incredible food that was priced a little bit above normal prices, which is very good for that quality of a restaurant. Fast forward two years, it was my first time at the new location. We were surprised at first that out of almost 30 tables, just 3 were occupied on a Sunday night. We were quickly shown to our table upstairs which had a nice view of the outside. Here are the nice parts. The first thing that I did not like was that our waiter did not know most of the questions asked, she did not tell us the specials and she had to ask for details about some dishes which for a small menu is a little bit weird. Also she asked if we enjoyed our food 1 second after we took our first bite. The ambiance lacks coziness and it is extremely boring: some remixed music played kind of loud and that is kind of it. The food was more or less the same as before, but all of the prices were approx. 50% up from the last time I dined here. I consider that outrageous because nothing had changed to the dishes instead of their price and the location they were served in. Now, I can name at least 3 restaurants that beat the price quality ratio in the city by a mile. The dessert was also expensive but it was very good. All in all, I do not think I will be coming here anymore, not until something changes at least. Everything that was before is now mostly gone, from the nice table setting to the dimmed lights and cozy music, now you find an expensive commercial place. A small suggestion would be to rethink the menu, every time I heard the same specials, and I know and have eaten them all, I do not think that should be the definition of specials.

Unfortunately, the food was average, and over priced and the wine was 50% more expensive compared to any other restaurant in Cluj. The indoor settings and the design are inviting and the overall atmosphere is cozy. They have quality music and the waiters were extra-nice and customer-oriented.

Ciao New York, great for a date night, evening out, or just a great meal. Went here for the first time last night, I was blown away at the experience I had. From walking in the door the dining area is on 2 floors and put together very well. The server was courteous, friendly and warm. Great qualities in an employee. The food is absolutely incredible. I had the beef specialty and let me tell you it was perfect. The steak was cooled to perfection, the truffle mashed potatoes were so packed with flavor I couldn't get enough. The dessert is the Italian Profiteroles and they were scrumptious with just the right amount of sweetness. They also have a great drinks menu with some very good wine.. This is now on top of my favorites lists in Cluj. When I go back I have to try the tiramisu because it is made in the house. I absolutely recommend stopping in and enjoying the sights, sounds, and tastes that Ciao has to offer.

Great experience. The staff was polite at the arrival, showed our table and took our coats. From thereon we enjoyed a delicious caprese and pasta/salmon main course. The place is decorated tastefully and enhances the dining experience. Would recommend this place wholeheartedly. Granted, it's a big more expensive than the average restaurant in Cluj but the quality of the food, service and ambiance in turn are equally above average. We will most definitely return here.

I've visited Cluj multiple times and heard about Ciao New York since the beginning. I finally got the chance to visit them in April and it does live up to its good reputations. We booked a table for 2 through Facebook and got a response within minutes. On the day of our reservation we were stuck in traffic. We messaged them about our situation and they told us to not worry about it. The waiters were very friendly and service minded. They took time to carefully lay out our plates and cutlery. The restaurant itself is beautiful and cozy. The atmosphere is unique and welcoming, even waiting for the food was an enjoyable experience at Ciao New York. The menu itself seemed to be carefully selected to not be too complex. I chose a sea bass fish dish and a forest fruit cake as desert. It may have been the best sea bass I've eaten. You will have to try to understand. After this visit I understand why they are the #1 restaurant in Cluj.

Simple italian food with a good wine choice, but limited non italian beer. Rather expensive but good to impress your date. Cosy and stylish. Welcoming and professional staff.

Lovely restaurant experience. We really felt pampered. The staff is exceptional, they really take the time to explain the menu options, answer any of your requests or questions. They offered us something that was not on the menu and were really knowledgeable about those dishes. All these by speaking very good English! The portions are not big but the food was so great, so fresh and tender. For dessert we ordered tiramisu (best tiramisu in Cluj they say) and they forgot to bring it to us. We waited quite some time. We didn't notice the waiter as we just enjoyed the atmosphere and eventually we got the tiramisu on the house! Special place, you can feel the passion they put into it!
