PRO's: - five-star hotel with five-star service - big and clean rooms with excellent sound proof walls - full mini bar at decent prices - very helpful staff - decent breakfast, could be more diverse - big parking space CON's: - not in the city center (40-minute walk, 20 minutes by public transportation, 12 by taxi) - surprisingly, there was no expresso machine in the rooms - poor tv's in the room, old and non-smart

My experience here wasn't the greatest.. I remember staying here for a surgery, and the night before the surgery, when I needed to get the most sleep, a couple were having a very loud session (I'll leave it to the imagination for what I mean here) in one of the rooms around me, sounded like above. I'd expect this hotel to be sound proofed for this kind of thing? It genuinely kept me up the night before my surgery. For that reason I've gone with 4 stars instead of 5. People are going to do things like that in these rooms, they should be sound proofed accordingly. We had two rooms at this hotel, and both rooms were absolutely ginormous (which explains how the sound carried.. The hotel should account for this). Besides that incident though, my stay was good, I was bed bound for a few days, but I'm glad this is the place I was bed bound, I would avoid the room service, however we got a fair amount of deliveries and the food around us was always fresh and good quality. The location is good, not the greatest, to get into the lively part of town, you will need a taxi. There's a convenience store nearby which is, good but if you want to explore the area on foot, you'll be met by decrepit roads and just an awkward walk overall. The view is insane. One of my favourite parts of this hotel.

Went there for a wedding, the location was beautiful, the staff was nice and helpful however the food was disappointing, don't get me wrong it was beautifully plated but the quality and freshness was lacking. Also the fact that the bathrooms were missing soap did not impress me either. We did not use the rooms since it was not necessary, but the place was clean. Maybe our expectations were to high for this hotel...

+ The breakfast and the rooms are great. The view is beautiful. - There is no spa, no pool, and no conditioner at the bathroom. The water in the bathroom is too hot or too cold. The wifi is bad! Too far away from the city center.

The hotel looks luxurious and is very spacious but we didn't enjoy our stay very much. The swimming pool was empty even if we arrived in June, planning to stay there and chill after work. Our window cover got broken and we got a room with the view on the machinery at the roof, very ugly. The worse were breakfasts, even if they end at 10:30, already after 9 am the machine for the pancakes was empty and when I asked for help, the staff just replied that yes it's finished. Still it was another 1,5 hours for breakfast.... The choice was very poor, especially for vegan people - no plant milk or any vegan option except some vegetables and bread. The room was very spacious and the bathroom very pretty - it had a shower and a bathtub with hydromassage so that's a big plus. The design was fine and also there was a good gym at our disposal.

Fabulous hotel. Bedrooms are really spacious. The reason I gave 4 stars for rooms instead of 5 is because you couldn't lower the aircon to what suited you so the room was too warm for my personal liking. 99% of staff were lovely, helpful and efficient. There was one woman working in the bar restaurant who was very unhelpful and aggressive in her approach which was a pity as it had been a lovely stay up until then. Would definitely stay there again though. Great swimming pool area. The food was very good also.

Highly overrated. Was here for a wedding and stayed for 2 nights. 0 attention to detail. Very bad circulation and flow of people. Untidy/dirty terrace, half of the things were broken: lights, etc. Very poor landscaping and maintenance of garden. Near the pool dumped construction materials. Terrible for allergy sufferers. It's like they planted on purpose high-allergy species. In the huge lobby loads of flowers (lilies) - the entire place was stinky. The rooms are very nice, large and have stylish furniture. There are centralized controls near the bed, with electric blinds. I found that nice and practical. The service was fine besides house keeping - except for the replenished toiletries I couldn't have said anyone was there. At checkout the service was cold, was not asked if all was OK. Overworked staff - I was shocked to see the same people serving at the event until 2am also serving breakfast - how is this even legal?! The restaurant service was great, highly professional staff. The event halls, like the entire hotel, have a very poor architectural design, terrible acoustics, and bad lighting - but shinny chandeliers. The bar is very sad and unattractive. I'm not sure why it's even a 5* hotel. Prices are fine, but the quality is absolutely not up to standard. The entrance/circulation route is via the logistics area, but then no pedestrian access from car park to the reception - you need to walk through vehicle barriers. Absolutely unacceptable. Needless to say it's not an accessible building for less- abled people. Also, while having breakfast on the terrace, people were carrying boxes with supplies up the stairs. Who designed the flows in this building? Nobody thought about anything, other than making it shiny. The acoustic insulation is completely lacking and couldn't shut an eye because of the very loud music until 3 am. Needless to say I won't be back. Did I mention no eye for detail?

Great location, comfortable bed and pillows, peaceful location. Good buffet breakfast. Professional support in all situations approached. Recommend for business! Admired the pool but did not have time to try! 15 minutes to city center by car.

Beautiful hotel, with large and sparkling clean rooms. Staff is paying attention to every detail, they’re trying to help you to have a good time here. It is definitely worth the 5 stars. Breakfast is delicious and fresh.

We had a great experience there with our company's event. The service level was outstanding, the staff was very kind and always paying attention to our needs, the food was excellent 👍. Everything was sparkling clean and well attended. Rareș (events manager) is a great person, very kind and proactive, also understanding and patient. Overall, I had the feeling that we are very well taken care of, and every detail was cautiously planned. Thank you!

Went to GHI for weddings, parties, business events and each time all services and cleaness were very good. The pool is also one of our favourite during summer.

Pros - impresivelly large hotel - bright, large, clean rooms - decent view - polite staff Cons - 5 stars but you can easily tell the attention to details is not there and corners were cut: old furniture, no carpets in rooms, kitch decore - bad breakfast - loudly cleaning and rearranging the restaurant tables while guests are eating lunch - bad cocktails

The service was quite underwhelmed, the breakfast not more then 2 stars. The SPA closed. No water or something els at the room. Is so pity that this nice house is so poor by the service. This is NOT a 5 star hotel.

Nice hotel but not for holidays. Just passing thru. Fine. Old town is 15 minutes by taxi.

A very nice hotel but with some high prices at the reception a simple duble room si 130€ per night. Another downside is that its very far from the city center in comparation with other hotels its around 45 min till the "Piata Unirii". This problem can be very easy solved if you have a car. The taxis are quite cheap, during the day you can get a taxi that delivers you to the center for around 17 ron(approximately 3.5€) and during the night for around 26 ron (approximately 5€). The public transport is quite developed and every Friday its free. But I warn you Cluj is a student city and the rooms may be bought by other students and it could quite noisy from 22-24 when they get ready to go to the club and 3-5 in the morning when they come back

Hotel nice. Room services not the best. Bed was made on a very simple way for 5 stars. Cleaning could be better. Shower was dropping water on the floor. Breakfast was good. Location excellent and driving with a taxi to the City costs 13-14 leí. Heating doesn't work as designed, but it wasn't cold or hot. Only that it wasn't possible to control the temperature. It's more like a 4 stars hotel and not 5. Views to the city, if you choose a room to the south, are very nice and the sunrise is incredible with views to Cluj.

This hotel is exactly what its name calls it ....Grand! There is a lot of space in all parts of the hotel, even the restaurant looks like a huge ball room. My room was large and exquisitely furnished, with a smart light switch system. Minibar was adequately stocked too. My suggestion for improvement is regarding the design of the restaurant chairs, they currently have high handles that can be quite tight or uncomfortable for bigger persons to sit on while eating. Hotel should consider to install dining chairs without handles.

I stayed there for a conference and my experience was amazing! The location is great, the rooms are big and luxurious, the food was delicious and the service was excellent! But above all I'd like to thank the manager of the hotel and the staff because they helped me get back safely and fast a personal item that I forgot at the hotel. I reccomend it 1000%

A smile can make such a difference in hospitality. During our entire stay not one reception staff could smile at us. They just looked generally tired or fed up. I tried to ask something in English and the manager looked at me like i was trying to sell her drugs. Very disappointed in the service standards. Hotel was really nice tho with great rooms and comfy beds. Breakfast was limited but nice. And the breakfast staff were more informative, friendly and helpful than the reception staffs. 5 stars for the breakfast staffs. Not even half a star for the reception.

Good hotel, big rooms and very big bed. Great view from the windows. Friendly staff and good service. Little far away from city center, but then you get great views from the hills.

We were staying three nights in the hotel on vacation. The staff at the check in was friendly and helpful. The room was very spacious and clean. Breakfast was standard but good. On weekends the hotel is a lot booked for weddings, meaning that there are a lot of people and parties but because of the size and ballrooms it has, it’s not so much disturbing. Pool area is crowded on weekends and hot days but there is always space. The staff there is also really nice and helpful. Garage parking is very good, not used by too many people. Outside parking is also possible. We will visit again. Hai romania.

The check-in was easy and done with professionally. The hotel gives a feeling of grandure. The room was very spacious and comfortable. Well equipped with a shower, jacuzzi bath and bidet. There is tea / coffee making facility. The bed was a queen sized bed, very comfortable. The only drawback of the was it's pillows - too small and flat. The breakfast was extremely pleasant and with absolutely grreat choice. The staff at breakfast were very helpful and friendly. One evening I decided to eat dinner at the hotel, well this was not pleasant, but in means regarding the food. The waiter was the reason for experience, he wasn't friendly and one had the feeling he didn't enjoy his job, this mirrored his treatment of us. The check-out was extremely enjoyable, the guy was extremely friendly and helpful. The location of the hotel is a little out of the way but you can walk to the centre in about 40 minutes or a short 10 minute taxi ride. Would I stay there again and the answer is a definite yes.

We had the wedding at the hotel restaurant and during the final hour of the event, we left the spare pairs of shoes under the table. The staff start cleaning the tables were nobody was sitting, including ours and when we decide to leave, the shoes were missing. Asked the waitress and the manager but nothing, asked again second day and one week after but nothing. It is unacceptable for a 5 stars hotel and restaurant the staff to steal. Unfortunately I was informed that we are not the only ones who experience this, other people left without shoes from Grand hotel Italia events. We also slept at the hotel, big and clean room with a really nice view but old fashion style with no love for detail. For sure 5 stars is too much for this hotel.

I was there for only a one-night event, but I can assure you all that it was marvelous. Very pleasant staff, my glass wasn't empty for one second. The entrees were delightful. But I left with a small hole in my heart because I lost the chance to eat parmesan cheese wheel pasta. I'm sorry for my little sad story, enjoy every moment you are there!

The rooms are amazing and beautiful, we also had a great view of the mountains from the balcony. The food was superb and so was the service. Unfortunately nothing was done about our air conditioning not working (we could not change the temperature, it was on 34 degrees celciusand it was 36 degrees outside, it got super hot in the room unfortunately.
