This is the best place to stay in Colmar. The food is simply delicious. Here are the best dishes I have eaten in 2023. I planned to propose to my girlfriend at this hotel. The hotel team, which is a really great team, took care of all the details, making it a truly romantic moment. We will definitely return to this hotel throughout our lives to feel full again. Congratulations to the team for their professionalism, for how attentive they are. Congratulations to the kitchen team, they really deserve the Michelin award

I arrived and found out I made the reservation for 2024 instead of 2023...my huge mistake...but they were friendly and understanding. I was able to get a room . Extremely fantastic customer service from Anthony and the manager.....I'll recommend the hotel to all of you.

We enjoyed the hotel room, facilities and restaurant, but the staff ruined the experience. There was some confusion with the billing, we asked for the the half-board 4 course menu at the restaurant however this was supposed to be done at the hotel reception, so we got a different 4 course menu at a different price and we were not informed of the difference. This was not indicated on the menu nor were the restaurant staff aware of the difference. In following dispute the hotel management behaved very poorly, showing arrogance and contempt for the customer. They say either that there is nothing they can do or they attempt to blame us. We enjoyed otherwise and even the unexpected price was ok but I did not expect such poor behaviour from a four star hotel, and this ruined the experience.

We had a wonderful experience in Le Maréchal and would always return. The welcome was heartful and pleasant, the restaurant food was excellent. Even though prices are on the high side for Alsace standards, but worth. We liked the rustic ambiance who has a lot of little memorables, toys and statues at display. Must be a nightmare to dust all these little gems... The only thing what could be improved: Shower. It is impossible to take a shower without wetting the entire floor. No shower holder/rail at the wall the the protecting glass door was far too short. Easy to fix, if wanted...

Gorgeous hotel and perfect place to stay during the Christmas market season. My room was adorable and spacious with views of the river and bridge. Breakfast was great and the customer service was first rate. I had an excellent experience.

Fantastic hotel with personal service, from check-in procedure to the restaurant. Wonderful staff that work on breakfast and very professional staff in the restaurant. the food was the best we had in our 4-days staying in Colmar.

Hôtel Le Maréchal is a beautiful boutique hotel situated in the heart of "Petite Venise", Colmar. The family-owned hotel was built in 1565, and is more like a museum than a hotel. Kind service, pleasant atmosphere, highly recommended!

We loved this perfectly located hotel along the river and close to everything. It was so peaceful and charming. The bathrooms have been modernized while maintaining the character of the room and hotel. The staff was very accommodating. They helped us with directions, luggage storage and obtaining a taxi. The breakfast selection was nice and dining along the waterway was a perfect way to start the day. I would definitely come back to the quaint hotel.

This is my favorite place in Colmar. The rooms are quaint and the location is perfect. Just make sure you reserve a canal room. The staff is always friendly and room are very clean. It has a lot of charm and it is clearly a building that has been converted to a hotel. There are many different style and size of rooms. This was our second stay and we will definitely come back!

Having a view of little venice at the window of this hotel is not beautiful as i think and you lost tons of privacy since your view is the bridge in which many people come to take a photo. i cannot look outside window to enjoy my moment wheb there are many people. the good thing is that it is closed to old town but with this price and the space they gave i do not think it is worth this price unless you are really like cozy tradition home style.

Request to stay in main building, not the annex. I had an adorable, charming room (#30). I saw my friend's room #20, and it wasn't as charming as mine (recently renovated in a not good way), and my friend's room in annex looked like Holiday Inn with no charm at all. My bed was super comfy. Room comes with ductless heating/cooling system. I loved hearing the doves cooing in morning. I appreciated the modern bathroom, so functional and efficient. Without hesitation, do get the breakfast buffet. Comes with huge variety of food, coffee to your style (i.e. cappuccino, cafe creme), fresh squeezed juices, cremant bubbles! Staff was always friendly and helpful. I advise no one in a wheelchair to stay in the main building; very non-mobility friendly. Stairs. And the elevator is tough enough to get into when you are fully mobile/able-body. If you have crutches, that will also be a challenge.

Value for money is a little low. Beds are extremely hard, furniture is very old, bathroom was super modern. They trim but could make so much more out of the hotel.

If you wish to experience Colmar from an authentic point of view, do choose Le Marechal as your place to stay. We had 5 wonderful days and nights at his amazing boutique hotel from the middle ages. Fantastic, central location too and splendid service, in particular the morning crew!

Vastly Overrated Hotel Highly anticipated trip to Colmar, but was disappointed by the room and front desk services. Firstly, this hotel is always overbooked albeit pricey, no matter the seasons. At first, you’d thought all the glowing reviews plus overwhelming demands translated into exceptional experiences. In 2022, we reached there on Sep 4. The Comfort Triple Room was underwhelming, small with low ceiling. Then parking: Only a small public paid carpark nearby. Hotel’s carpark for some reasons miles away & just doesn’t make sense. When asked, front desk just claimed “I don’t care.” On third night of our stay, our room light sensor went haywire & resulted light flickering for no reason. Called housekeeping but no electrician on duty. After spending almost an hour troubleshooting with electrician on the phone, in the end housekeeper just yanked the light sensor out of the wall, with wires dangling. Problem solved but no reprieve. When checking out next day, front desk had no clue what happened previously & apparently no handover nor communication whatsoever. I had to relay the incident again to avoid any liability on the wires dangling after housekeeper yanked it out previously, so much for the poor services. At the very least, the lady in charge of hotel’s restaurant was the best with her exemplary services, always proactive with a smile. Hopefully others in the hotel can emulate her service excellence.

Positives: Beautiful heritage building and rooms with a lot of character. Everything was clean and well maintained. The staff are very helpful and the reception is open most of the day. The location was perfect, plenty of good restaurants downstairs and right at the edge of old town. We had a lovely view out of the room of some old town buildings. Room for improvement: The only downside to this room was the bathroom, which wasn't in the same style as the room and a little dated. However, the shower and sink were clean and worked fine so it wasn't a big deal.

Old world elegance with modern conveniences! Stayed here 30 years ago & welcomed the chance to return. Excellent kitchen & great location in heart of old city.

Excellent location, fabulous new boutique bar, great breakfast and charming hotel. The bar man, bar staff and breakfast staff manager are outstanding! Choose a comfortable room size for your luggage requirements and you will have all the creature comforts you need and expect from a 4 star hotel. Be sure to request a bath or shower, some rooms only have a bathtub with hand held shower, no combination enclosed, which can be a surprise if you are not expecting it.

The location is perfect. In front of one of the Christmas markets (in December) and walkable to the city center. The room we got (double standard) was very small, specially the bathroom and shower. The hotel is not recommended for people who have problems with mobility. It’s full of stairs everywhere.

Biggest tourist trap to fall in Colmar, I was looking for something quint and authentic, all I got was an overpriced room with a garage parking many blocks away from the hotel, my car barely fit in it...into some apartment bldg parkade...if that was the only thing I was willing g to overlook that part since parkade in old Town are rare...OK but the room was a total let down, the "suite" was small and aged...meanwhile the bathroom was modern and cramped ....as I had to go sideways down the hall to reach either the bathtub or the toilet...the access to the elevator is trugh the bathroom area...it's the weirdest and most confusing setup I ever seen...overall the hotel experience was at best OK and that's stretching it really..yet to see breakfast tomorrow....but really I can't wait to get out of here.

This hotel was truly excellent in every way! The staff were extremely helpful to us as we found our way due to delays related to road construction by the hotel. Also, the food was simply amazing at the restaurant. The hotel is perfectly located, and the staff went above and beyond on every conceivable measure! We had a stellar stay and recommend this hotel very highly!

Perfect place right in the middle of the small town, I completely recommend it !! And be careful with those hotels offering nice rooms, you need to always check the surroundings ! I will come back again with family , friends and for a romantic weekend !

Only ate at the restaurant, but the food was excellent and the deserts were amazing. We had outstanding service as well.

One of the most cozi Boutique- hotels. Located at a river, in the old Town Colmar. Romantic Ambiente in the rooms. Great restaurant, where we've enjoyed an amazing 8 courses candle light dinner and romantic breakfast the next morning. Good service, very familiar and well organized. Thank you for a great time. It's a fairytale!

We highly recommend this hotel to any traveler seeking great lodging in a great location in the magnificent city of Colmar. Our only regret - we could stay for only one night and wish we could have spent at least another night or two here. Our accommodations were lovely. We had a small suite in an adjacent building connected to the hotel with an amazing view of the canal. Our suite had two rooms - a large and elegantly appointed living room with a sofa and chairs, a modern flat screen television on a large dresser, a writing desk, and a comfortable queen bed with nightstands, and another, smaller room with two more beds. Truly, all our experiences with the hotel were exactly as one would wish for a very pleasant stay.

Very nice room, albeit small, with old fashioned decoration. Cosy! Bathroom very clean and modern, on the small side. Correct and courteous staff. Breakfast nice, but at 08.30 a lot of empty dishes, which should not be the case for a charge of 18€. Also a very good location with many open restaurants nearby, even Monday night off-season.

Great location and excellent food on site. Room was quaint and had everything you needed. Parking was the main challenge at this hotel, the parking they offered was offsite about 1/2 mile away and the car couldn’t fit in the garage unless maneuvered in diagonally. Getting out the 6 inch opening between car and garage wall (with luggage) took some creative acrobatics.

We are second time at this hotel. Love rooms with a river view both in summer and in winter. In winter before Christmas we had such room. It was wonderful, like a fairytale with decorations of bears in the windows, Santa Clause etc . This time we did not manage to have such view but a room with a small balcony with a view to the yard, which was also quite good. Bed is comfortable, room clean, shower sufficient with all supplies. Satisfied with everything :)

Charming rustic chic hotel, breakfats by the canal of the little Venice.

Dating back to 1565 it's old but quirky with modern touches. Slightly smaller than your average room but you only sleep in it! Fridge, kettle & air con. Nice outdoor terrace on the canal. I'm guessing the most photographed hotel from the bridge. Location location location

Delightful!!! We booked an overnight stay on our way back from Italy to UK and thought that Comar and the hotel Marechal in particular looked worth a visit. This was an understatement!!! Colmar is the most beautiful town with picture postcard buildings, full of restuarents with a vibrant outdoor business. We were greeted at the hotel by Lauren and she informed us that we had a room upgrade which was very nice and also answered all of our questions before showing us to our room. The room was enchanting with views over the river. We dined in the restuarent and again were impressed by the amazing food on offer and also by the level of service. Breakfast on the terrace the following morning was equally impressive. I would have no hesitation in recommending thus hotel or indeed a visit to Comar 💖

This was our first visit to the beautiful town Colmar. We stayed at the Hotel Le Marechal which is a small, family run hotel, situated along Petit Venise. It is conveniently situated to enable one to explore all that Colmar has to offer. ALL staff were professional, friendly and helpful but a special mention for Lauren, in reception, who made contact prior to our arrival and extended a warm welcome and helped with car oarking; plumbing and so much more! The food was first rate! We enjoyed a wonderful dinner and the breakfast was everything one could ask for. We were very fortunate to be given an upgrade on our arrival and the room was well appointed and overlooking the river. We both enjoyed a goo night's sleep. My only suggestion is that rooms look a little tired and in need of some attention.

A beautiful hotel in Colmar's Little Venice which feels steeped in history. All that you could want to see and do on its doorstep and close to the train station. Definitely one to return to.

Perfect location in the old part of the city with many excellent restaurants only a short walk away. Friendly staff makes you feel right at home in the well kept and clean rooms and apartments.

Beautiful hotel, comfortable beds, great air conditioning and exquisite bathrooms. The food at the restaurant is fantastic and the breakfast by the canal is to die for. The location is ideal for exploring the shops, restaurants and canals of old town Colmar. All of this is great, but what makes this hotel truly 5 stars is the staff. Their friendliness and willingness to go above and beyond to provide incredible customer service is second to none. Upon returning home we realized that we had lost something at the hotel. The team at the hotel searched for the item, found it and mailed it back to our home. They went so far as to provide us a tracking number so that we could track the item in the mail. Incredible.

Superb four star hotel. Staying overnight in an authentic 600 year old home is a truly unique experience. The staff was absolutely wonderful. The breakfast which was included was exceptional and very delicious. You must try the lemon yogurt which you will never forget.

Hotel Le Maréchal has a lot of charm and is excellently situated for tourists! With the charm comes some slight issues of an older building. Overall our stay was quite nice at Le Maréchal. The staff was friendly and helpful, they have a tasty petit dejeuner and quaint dining area. The bed was comfortable, but the room was quite small. One reason I can’t give a 5-star is because the toilet area is so ridiculously small, something similar to an airplane lavatory. It’s separate from the rest of the bathroom in a closet with a sliding door that would make many feel claustrophobic if you closed it. For me it comes down to preference, and I prefer a better situated and spacious bathroom. Due to that, I am glad my stay was only two days. However, we did enjoy those two days!
