Very good restaurant with a lovely outdoor garden terrace. Like most customers we had our meal outdoors and, although they do provide blankets, I'd recommend to wear warm clothes depending on the time of year. The food is high quality. Really nice combinations of flavours, variations on regional dishes and a wide range of wines. The menu is written on a blackboard they will bring to your table. It's in French, but staff is more than happy to help you with your choices. Otherwise you can also check the menu beforehand on their website. Don't forget to book in advance, because they were fully booked the night we visited. We'd like to visit again, especially when the temperatures are a bit higher, to enjoy the scenery and the food.

Best meal we had in Colmar visit !! Great service by staff whom were super attentive and patiently translated their wonderful menu into English for us ;-) Food was amazing and extremely well cooked. Fillet steak was best I ever had .. it was cooked to perfection. Desserts were well made as well. What a great treat !!

It is such a pretty place to have a good time with friends, colleagues or family. We had everything that there was to eat 😂. It was nice to just get each a different menu and taste from each other’s plate 🙈. The chef was funny. He unintentionally gave us a Jack Sparrow performance 🤣. It was delightful. The staff was nice too.

Absolutely phenomenal. One of the best meals I've had. The chef prepared a spectacular menu from start to finish. From the beginning, the terrace has a warm and natural feel with fresh herbs and a wax candle. The opening amuse bouche was a carrot-based dish whipped together with a delicious flavor, adorned by a sliced cucumber. The appetizers impressed our group with their variety and complex flavors that meshed so well together. We had the "perfect egg" and the "barrata cheese" and both were amazing. The meals blew us away as we were able to try pigeon (yes, and it was so flavourful), vegetarian caviar with eggplant, and a tuna dish that was perfectly put together. Dessert sent us home wanting to write a detailed review, as we enjoyed chocolate with raspberries, and a sorbet of mango with nuts. I can't adequately describe it, so please see the pictures! Overall, highly recommend this amazing restaurant a top notch staff.

My daughter and I stumbled across this place by accident and are so lucky we did - the food was exceptional and our waiter was so nice, explaining the menu to us in English and joking around with my daughter. This is a special place -- definitely call to make reservations, we tried to bring my husband and son back for dinner and they were fully booked.

I wanted to surprise my boyfriend and they did a great job helping me to do that. They made a wonderful table with a cute pumpkin outside for the beginning and then gave us a table inside since it was cold. I had emailed them a month earlier to reserve a table and they responded quite fast. Besides the arrangements of the birthday, the food was special and tasty and the staff were super duper nice. I would love to go there again more if my pocket lets me do that!😁

We had a very delightful time! Everything was very delicious and nicely presented, all staffs were very kind and attentive. We came with a baby and we were afraid that we can’t make it with our 8 months but it turned out a great experience. We will definitely come back, or now have a great reason to visit Colmar again!

Thank you for a great evening experience with fantastic service and great food. And a special thanks to the little orchestra that played great music all evening.

Nothing short of a Michelin experience, we are absolutely wowed by the food, the presentation, the ambience and hospitality at L'Arpege. The interiors are so unique, cozy and inviting. The owner and the staff are absolutely exceptional and take the time and effort to walk you through the menu, make recommendations, show you how to use their comfy chairs ;) and ensure you're having a good time.. Above all, they truly demonstrate their passion for food. We highly recommend everything we tried from the local Alsatian red wines to the complimentary vegan and chicken appetizers to the veal fillet and deserts. Special shout out to the vegan potatoes, mushrooms cooked in red wine, almond milk and truffle oil which was heavenly!! All the desserts sounded so tempting. We ordered the lime citrus dessert and the chocolate praline, both of which were out if this world. The combinations and flavours are so unique and indescribably good! If you're in Colmar, do ensure you make a trip to this restaurant - you will not regret it! We were lucky to walk-in and get a table due to a cancellation. However, I would recommend making a reservation in advance as it does get busy.

What I can say more apart from a fine art experience. It’s not excellent in culinary wise, but aesthetically pleasing as well. The atmosphere, the seat, the food, everything is not only fine food but also fine arts. We had a very great afternoon there and just cannot help falling in love with the place. The set menu was more than value, at 28 euros, we got the lovely appetizer that was beautifully decorated as if it’s the loveliest garden, then the perfect pink salmon with truffled green lentils that is so aromatic, and then the lovely pear pie. We also ordered the perfect egg which is eye opening. Never had anything like this before, something in between chawanmushi but so airy and light, accompanied by potato and lardon - it’s like magic. The duck is amazing as well but the polenta is even better. Creamy, soft and flavorful, totally turned former polenta hater like me to love it. The best of the best is the guy who I believe is the owner? He is super sweet to us throughout the whole lunch and even before that when I ran in a day earlier trying to get me and my mom a table, and even with the booking is super full, he tried to squeeze us in and on the day, gave us the most beautiful table of us. Thank you again! Overall please please please don’t hesitate to go and have a great experience here at L’Arpège, but don’t forget to book ahead or you might miss as they are always fully booked!

We feasted!!! Super nice French food, the service was great and the place is idyllic. Definitely would recommend to make a reservation and remember that the French food culture is slow. Just enjoy the time

L'Arpège in Colmar, a city known for its numerous gourmet restaurants and Michelin-starred establishments. Among those culinary giants, L'Arpège stands out with its authentic foods, its warm atmosphere, and botanic charm, right in the heart of the city. 🌱 They feature organic, locally-sourced ingredients from the region. With original, flavorful, and generous dishes, L'Arpège offers a truly unique experience.🍽️☀️ Begin your feast with a velvety watercress soup, packed with vegetables and vitamins, or the mackerel with salmon rillettes. For the main course, try the pan-seared black cod with buckwheat cake in a fish soup reduction, or the reimagined squab supreme with a side of grilled potatoes. Finish your meal with the must-try citrusy black nuances dessert, or the delightful hazelnut moelleux. 🍋🌰 L'Arpège is one of Colmar's top-rated restaurants, so be sure to book well in advance for this unforgettable culinary adventure! 🌟

Absolutely amazing food, wonderful service. Just keep in mind the menu du jour is only for lunch, so eating out here in the evening will cost you some more.

The best meal I’ve had in a long time, hands down! After painfully stumbling through our limited French vocabulary, the waitstaff were very kind and patient and explained the menu to us in English. The four gras and beef tataki were beautifully presented and extremely fresh, and our main courses were gorgeously plated and truly wonderful. I loved how the menus were presented on boards that were updated daily, and the wine listing was thoroughly Alsatian and prioritized local wines. Such a beautiful and welcoming place for dinner!

This little restaurant is one of the best ones I've visited. The service is sublime, the waiter was friendly and offered some wine for us to taste before he poured a glass. Allergies are no problem. I am gluten free but I could choose anything. The outside section feels like it could be your own back garden. Simply great all around. Would recommend 10/10.

You can order anything on the menu and be happy. The deer is so tender and cooked perfectly. The salmon I would eat it everyday. The owners are great and the service is beyond perfect. I will be back!

What an absolutely magical experience at L'Arpège. We sent an email a month in advance asking to reserve a table for two for our wedding anniversary. We arrived to a stunning table in a hidden secret garden nook decorated with a beautiful sign wishing us a happy anniversary and hearts all over the table. What a spectacular and unexpected touch. The service was incredible. They were eager to tell us everything about the products and have us sample the wine we were interested in, to ensure we would be happy. They changed their menu - it's not just meat/fish/veggie... You can mix and match, now. You had a selection of entrees, plats, and desserts. We choose the egg with asparagus and chèvre ravioli as our entrees. Both were incredible. My husband had the beef as his main, and I had "faux Maki" with tofu and vegetables. He said his was incredible. I liked mine a lot but there was a strong citronella flavour in the maki or the peanut sauce that was too much for me (just a personal preference and not a comment on the amazing dish). My husband adored my dish. Dessert was a "cafe gourmet" style sampler and there was not a single imperfect dessert on the dish. Every single one was amazing. The entire experience was pure magic. The food was filled with love, care, and passion. I am so grateful this is where we chose to celebrate our special day. I will recommend it to all.

Our favorite restaurant in Colmar. Food was fantastic with high quality produce and service was top notch and very friendly. Price is on the higher side but if you are looking for a nice experience out this is great. Starters: perfectly cooked egg at 65 degrees and foie gras Mains: John Dory fillet and veal Dessert: honey dessert in different variations, Mille feuille with quince and saffron sorbet

Beautiful setting and decor, friendly staff, tasty wine and excellent food. The salmon on risotto was one of the best I've tried in a long time. Also dog friendly which is a great plus! Lost 1 star because the vegetarian dish (turnips on beetroot sauce) wasn't good. The turnip wasn't cooked enough and the cheese crackers were really tough and rubbery. Also, the wine is overpriced considering it's local. However, we would definitely recommend this place. We paid €62 for 2 x three course lunchtime meal with 2 glasses of wine and an espresso.

An oasis of greenery and calm in the heart of Colmar! We love everything about it : its location in the heart of Colmar with a garden is fabulous, their products are inventive, fresh, local, homemade and the vegetarian proposals of very good quality. 🥰🍽️⛲🌳Also, the owners are very nice, which adds charm to the already very harmonious place.

Very nice place. Haut cuisine without the haut prices. Inventive dishes with fresh and local produce, that go way beyond the standard Alsace fare. There's a Vegan menu option available, which is a big plus.

  • 4/5 Daniel 2 years ago on Google
Good food well worth the price. But both the vegetarian as well as the meat option lack fragrance. Also the soup should burst more flavor. A lovely experience sitting in the garden and very nice and welcoming staff. I will recommend it and come back.

Very very nice restaurant! The waiter is funny and friendly and takes his time to introduce you to the menu. Go there if the weather is good, they have an amazing cute garden in the backyard. The food was very delicious and is worth every single euro you are going to pay. They offer lots of different wine, most of them from the region (for sure). It was a delight finish our holiday here Thank you!!!

Must try! This is an unique place where vegan and non vegan can enjoy an excellent meal. The cuisine is innovative, refined and delicious. We enjoyed every bit. The starters, the main dishes and the exquisite dessert were delightful. The cherry on the cake is the friendly staff. Rare for a French restaurant...Good selection of wines and cocktails. Highly recommended if you are visiting Colmar.
