You must submit your biometrics for the visas at the VFS Global Australian Visa Application Centre in Colombo. There is no parking available on the property. Due to the lack of traffic and crowds on the day we visited, we could park near the road. Before visiting the location, you must make an appointment online. You must bring your passport, online appointment letter (which you should print), and another biometric document you received when you lodged your visa (take a printout). They call your appointment time at the entrance, and you can enter once an officer calls your time slot. When you join, you must wait outside until you are called up inside the building. Your time slot will be called again, and you will be able to enter the building. They will check your appointment and passport, give you a token based on the country you are visiting, and direct you to a hall with counters and biometric checking rooms. Then, on a screen, they show your token number and the counter to which you should proceed. When you arrive at your assigned counter, they will take your passports and other documents and issue you a new receipt. Again, you must wait until your token number appears on the screen before proceeding to the cashier. The cashier is located at counter 15/16, and once your token number is called, you may proceed with the payments. An Australian visa costs LKR 1936 per person. You must bring the exact amount of cash with you. After you have paid, you must wait for your token to appear on the screen with relevant biometrics checking the room numbers. Once your receipt has been assigned to a room, you can enter to provide your fingerprints and have your photograph taken for the visa. When you are on the premises, you must turn off your cell phone. You are free to leave the premises once your biometrics have been taken. It is preferable to arrive 15 minutes before your appointment. The entire procedure took about an hour and a half. The staff is pleasant and helpful. During our visit, nothing out of the ordinary occurred. The system I described applies to Australian visas. The process for obtaining a visa in the UK may differ.

Fast service. Neat and tidy process. They hv regular service where the applicant have to go from counter to counter and premium service where you can get everything done in one place by sitting in a comfy lounge for ~30 USD. But even in regular service it’s just 3 counters and won’t have to stay in queue. So I would go for the regular service even next time. Staff at the entrance is bit intimidating and I felt bit hostile. Like a Government hospital. Hopefully they would improve on that. Overall VFS office provides a very smooth and neat and fast service.

I went for giving biometrics and submitting documents for UK visit visa , it’s located in maradana and doesn’t have its own parking , you need to find a place in the road side. They provide very professional service . It’s sufficient to be 15 minute before your appointment time , if you go early you may have to unnecessarily stand in the line. The process is pretty simple, it take only less than 30 minutes to complete the process, and if you have self uploaded your documents you may need to carry only below documents , no need to carry all the documents. 1. Passport and front page copy 2. Appointment confirmation 3. Document checklist For sms service they charge 1060 Rs extra, not required to go for any additional services if it’s not necessary. If you need to keep your passport with you during The visa process they charge 7140/- ( I paid for both these additional services only ) The staffs are very cooperative, Appreciate their professionalism 👍

Poor service. We went there with our 1 year old little one and travelled from far long. They didn't show any interest to call us inside and give a seat. No one returned for few slots. But they haven't take next slot person. Security guard was behaving like king and didn't respond properly. People needs to be waited outside under the hot root. But they do have planty of space inside. Here by I am attaching the inside space where they can accommodate the queue. I want someone to take action on this for taking the queue inside atleast. Please let me know if you have taken action

It was very busy when we reached the place and there was no seating outside. The security who allows people inside only talk and call in Sinhala. If you speak other languages, it will be hard to communicate. It was a shock. Lot of people wait in the queue and wonder. If your appointment time is close by, you have to approach the security guard and get in. They won't let any other person with the relevant person. Once you get in mostly it is fine. The price for biometrics to Australia is 2007 rupees.

01. There is no telephone number to the company. (Yes I asked the staff and they confirmed there's no phone number like they are proud of it.) 02. They do not allow guests pass the gate. Only for the applicant. I took my old mother and they did not allow enter and she had call me thousand times coz the stupid staff. There are no seats or chairs outside to sit for guests and they have to stay on the pavement till the applicant finish. A kind security uncle allowed me to enter and sit inside the gate but they did not allowed anyone untill we asked. 03. The staff inside is not proffesional, they do not guide people well. Old people coming here only once. They can't understand the company system magically.

1.No parking. You have to park your vehicle long away and take a taxi. Though we pay in $ they are unable to provide at least parking space. 2.Further they provide so-called VIP service. Don't get caught. Instead of spending less that Rs. 1000 you will be charged 7,500/- and you get nothing out of it. when they mention about VIP service be vigilant. also this fees needs to be paid in cash not by credit card.

Streamlined service. Start was delayed, but efficient once work commenced. Courteous staff. Clean and spacious inside. Facilities for those waiting outside can be better, since the wait can be long. No parking therefore suggest commuting in a taxi. A location just outside the city in a better area, would have been good.

VFS employees are trained to upsell everything rather than helping clients. Highly recommend older folks to bring some with to assist with paperwork because sleazy sales guys at VFS will ripoff them. Do not have a helpline. Passport collection is at 1100 Hrs

Utterly disgusted with the level of service provided. My UK visa was turned down since some of my sensitive documents were not submitted to the Embassy by the VFS team. The staff from the security post is very rude and does not know anything about customer service. The so called "Priority Service" took more than 2 weeks to get a response where it would have been only a week. For the attention of VFS Global, please train your staff and relocate this to a better place. The entrance is very smelly as there is a toilet right once you enter the place. Update : The VFS Global has failed to answer the query to the Consumer Affairs' Authority. The matter has been escalated for professional misconduct and negligence by the CAA.

Quick service.. don’t go early just go on time they give you

Swift, methodical and organized service. Opting for the premium service costed me an additional 7880 LKR inclusive or courier and SMS service. I asked how much the courier service for the standard service was which they said was about 4000 LKR. I recommend you bring a set of photocopies of documents that are not already in A4 size. You have plenty of time to recheck the documents you submitted however they cannot comment on if you need additional documents or lesser or otherwise. Print the checklist and the appointment confirmation before you visit.

While many have mentioned their service being unprofessional, my experience with them has been characterized by quick and professional service.

Going to attend our appointment today with two babies ( infant and toddler)hope the service will be better and hassle-free. We shall update in details after visiting the place After the Visit : Since i was with two kids I thought its gonna be a hassle but it wasn’t. My appointment was schedules for 12.20pm but i reached there by 12.00pm but still they hv allowed us.The process made everything easier there was no rush on that date . They allowed my mother to come in to take care of my kids .The security guy at the gate helped us a lot.Also the staff was good . Overall the service and staff people were very cooperative. I would highly recommend and appreciate there service.

Should go there 10 to 15 minutes before your appointment otherwise you have to wait outside on the pavement till your time is called. They haven't provided any seating facilities outside. Other than that, their work is pretty organized. Once you go in everything is in order

According to my own experience,they didn't scan a document .staff not good. No response for phone call.no tracking service to the documents.They involved in business such as premium service.

Went for Biometrics for Australian Visa on 11 Oct 2022. Appointment time was 11.20 AM. I went there at 11. 10AM. No waiting directly went inside after informing the SO. It took only 20 mins for me and my husband to submit the documents, do the payments, and give biometrics. We came out by 11.30 AM. May be the experience is different on crowded days. But I didn't face any trouble everything went smoothly. Documents to bring - Passport, Copy of Appointment letter from VFS, Copy of Biometrics Letter from Australian Home Affairs. Payment- Rs.2266 per person on the day I went. You can check website for the exact amount.

I'm experience in general was very good. I went to get my biometrics done and the service was professional and fast. I got it done in less than 2 hours. There are set backs due to the processing of elderly individuals and kids, which is understandable.

I'm sorry, but this place is a joke... a really bad joke. I submitted my biometrics one month earlier. It still says on the Australia immigration portal that my biometrics haven't been collected. I tried contacting VFS. No response. My daughter in Australia contacted the Australian Immigration Department, according to them, my biometrics have not been sent. Thanks a lot VFS, you are delaying my application process.

Very clean place with very friendly helpful staff members. Be on 15 minutes before and you can leave after one hour. Very quick process for Australian biometrics( I experienced and No idea about other countries). No parking available. Two, three cars can park outside the centre on the main road. Try to come with a driver or a hired taxi.

Go a little earlier than the time they give. Maybe 1 hour earlier. You’ve to stay out in a queue till the security calls out times. Take all the necessary things which they ask for. I recommend taking the premium lounge as it is easier and quicker. Had my things done within an hour or so. Also you get snacks and drinks ;) But the place needs a bit of upgrading. Even the premium lounge. To collect the passports too. You’ve to come to this place and same queue. Security will call out accordingly, They take in around 11.00 if can be there early as possible so that you can go in soon. They give it quickly. You gotto check the passport there before you leave. There is no allocated parking, but if you go earlier can park on the road side at your own risk.

General experience at VFS was excellent! It was a quick and prompt process for submitting biometrics. Staff was friendly and cooperative. Many thanks to everyone who has written reviews in here previously. Those reviews helped us in a great deal to get an idea as to how it works. Initially we had some issues trying to book an appointment on the website but that was soon resolved!

I used this service for my UK visa process. Since their phones are not answering, I’ve sent an email to them regarding my requirement. Then they replied with an email saying that they’ll call me within next week or so. Then they called and asked for a suitable slot for the appointment. Don’t miss that call for god’s sake. Because u won’t be able to get to contact them otherwise. Then I went there for my biometrics on a Wednesday in Nov. 2022. I was there on time with all the required documents and my passport . I’ve already uploaded almost all the required documents for my visa process though my agency. The biometrics process took roughly 30mins from the appointment time. I paid nearly 108k LKR for the priority facility. Within 2 days(on Friday) I got the BRP collection email. Within 3 working days (on next week Monday) I got the passport collection email from VFS. Then I went there with the previous provided documents on the first day from the VFS office. I went there at around 8.30AM but the security did not allow me to enter until 11.45AM that was unexpected. They provide ur passports after 11.30AM keep that in your mind when u go there. Actually the only drawback was I was not able to contact them through the phone. Otherwise everything went smoothly.

If space is available, You can park your vehicle in front of the building. If you have the appointment it's easy. Come here on time. Not too early or late. Staff is not friendly at all. Running under short staff. No priority for customers who have infants and babies. Even website says person who care babies can enter to the office, we were not allowed. Even it says cash only, there are card payment facilities. Took more than one hour only submitting biometrics. Unsatisfied with the staff. Slightly satisfied with the process. Let's see how long it will take to update the biometrics.

Why would their security people act as its owners. Also they have no manners at all and wish to keep people waiting. Better you hire a professional staff

have to book appointment through website but there is no ant slot available many times . but trying hard and got one and visit there unlucky missed one document then i have to apply again i have to fly in two weeks but there is no slot available emailed them called them nothing happen.. this place is good for someone to to loos their job. very sad to say im almost loosing my job regarding this visa process

Very efficient and smooth process. I'd say steer clear of any special packages they try to offer you, going through with the basic package is more than enough and you can be in and out in an hour.

Don't be too early. Just be there before 30 mins. Otherwise you'd be there in the scorching sun☀️ Went for my biometrics. I went there 30 mins earlier than the appointment time. As I went they were calling people by appointment time. I was called in almost immediately as I went there. The staff was very friendly and the process went very smoothly. The process was finished and I was out of the VFS office within 25 mins.

The staff were courteous and helpful. Although the security staff at the gate tend to only let in people with confirmed interviews there are categories of visas that don't allow you to book on-line such as citizenship bio metric appointments. There are others who struggle with using the website for booking purposes. If you belong to either of the above 2 categories and you try phoning, there does not seem to be a help line. The only thing you can do is to visit VFS & explain your situation to the security staff at the gate. If you are lucky, they let you in to speak at a counter located outside the actual office. The outside office is helpful and may be able to assist you

Everything is ok with me in person. Need4 LCD monitors at least 4 corner each hang on civilin to minimum turn around to find call upon their number. Any how good

Place is ok, but when the place is busy the staff cannot mange it properly some staff members are clueless what there doing there, behavior of cashier/cash and payment counter ladies are horrible, awful they dont know there doing a job they think people come to worship them ,uneducated bad manners shows to people from there body language also not responding when some one ask something from them regarding payments ,I saw many persons speak about this issue when Im there , VFS is just commercial partners there giving facilities , not visas or there not immigration authorities they act to some peoples to like there the authoriti 😁, they must improve there services to paid customers much better than this because its a paid service ,

Recently visited VFS Global after about 6 years. I found it much more organized and efficient than the previous times I've visited. We didn't have to wait long. We were taken in right on the given appointment time and the rest of the activities were completed seamlessly since there is a good process now. Everything went smoothly. It took only about 30 mins to give bio metrics.

Giving biometrics was convenient. But poor organization when it comes to passport collection. Had to wait in a queue for more than an hour under direct sunlight.

Experience in the facility was pleasant enough. However, i had to change my appointment date, and the initial payment was processed for refund. It has been 5 months now and despite continuous reminders and emails and phone calls (never answered), to date i have not received the refund

Parking is a real issue but other than functioning was very good with staffs inside were very courteous and accommodating. But the same can not be said about the Security staffs. Looks like most were taken from the German Gestapo police, especially the female ones and they also accept "Santhosam" from visitors. Why and what for the visitors palm them something when leaving the premises is a mystery. I was a witness to it more than once while waiting for my time to collect our passports. Wonderful service they are giving except security peoples behaviors. Also not working on time. We got paid service and they have to work on time, Internal staff is much better... They are working efficiently , all are young crowd. Thanks for your service VFS..

Very helpful staff and clear up instructions. However I had applied for the bronze package yet I never saw it was told of any such benefits? It makes the packages pointless unless you get the premium in which you get access to a seperate lounge and coffee
