I used to love this gym. When I first joined Max Fitness about a year ago, I didn't read any reviews and nor did I care, but the managers only care about one thing... MONEY... ALL THE NEGATIVE REVIEWS ARE REAL. I shared my opinion/experience on my social media account about a situation I encountered regarding the customer service I received and the inconsistency of their guest pass policy. I received a call the next day from managers Cathy & Fuller and they stated that my experience was defamation of character and offered immediately to cancel my membership because they do not want members to talk bad about the gym... First of all, as loyal and long term member of ANY business, I would expect for the managers to ask me what happened, show empathy, apologize and offer a solution for the problem before offering a cancellation, any good business owner/manager knows that that is a standard practice. Second, I explained to Jasmine, the front desk lady, that my guests moved in to the area and were excited to try the gym and she stated they had to pay $15 each, even after filling out their 7-day free pass on the Max Fitness Website. The problem is not the money, however, I brought in two guests twice in the past who were greeted personally by Cathy and they did not have to pay the fee, no IDs were checked, & they also ended up joining. During my phone call with Fuller and Cathy, they stated that guest who were from out of town had to pay that fee, but then again, my guests lived in town. Furthermore, several members contacted me and also confirmed they have brought in guests to try the facility at no charge. Third, not only did they cancel my membership, but also contacted other members who shared my concern on social media and offered them to cancel their membership. It breaks my heart to know that this gym has come to this. They did not care to solve this issue at all, neither did they apologize to me. All they care is MONEY. If you have a different opinion from theirs, they will try to silence you...

This gym is run by two clowns who have no idea how to run a business. After posting a negative review and some criticism on my personal social media, I received a call from them being told that my review of their business is defamation of character and asked if I want to cancel my membership because they “do not want anyone there who feels negatively about the gym”. I went there each and every day enthusiastically despite numerous issues with the gym and even got several friends to sign up. Multiple times they let them in without seeing ID or anything and surprised by that i let my friends know to make sure to let the owner know they were here because i know that gyms need to know who comes in. Then instead of calling me to ask what i thought they could do better or to ask my why i felt negatively, I was accused of defamation and pretty much told that I am not welcome there. Last time i was here was about 10 years ago when i was about 13, my parents had signed up and added me to the membership so i could work out, we then moved and they cancelled the membership, despite that Max kept charging them for a whole year. I returned and choose max fitness despite that previous experience my parents had and its a shame that the gym has yet to improve.

I love this gym!!! The owners and the staff are so cool. I don’t know why there are so many negative comments about contracts, etc. From my experience it’s been great,and I went from having Joe as my personal trainer to downgrading to push and I had no problems at all within either contracts. This gym makes me want to be in the gym every day!!

Recently joined at this gym, it’s little but expensive for someone who’s a teen like me but worth it. And I love it. Employees are so nice the place looks clean and new.

Equipment is horribly maintained, bathrooms are disgusting, and the gym is full of creeps. My daughter often comes to workout and she has told me many stories, among other people there there is even talk about inappropriate behavior from the head coach. Its a shame this gym used to be great years ago, now it has gotten run down to the ground with bad management. With so many other better gyms in the area dont waste your time coming here.

I have been trying to cancel my membership since March of 2022. They have still been trying to charge my account. I had to cancel my bank card in order for them to stop stealing money from my account. *I am editing this review because I don’t how to send a reply to the comment from max fitness. I have tried to put in the request for cancellation at which time the system said that it couldn’t find my account. I have visited Max Fitness to resolve this issue at that time I was told I would be given a call back from a manager after the issue was resolved, never received a phone call. I have called multiple times to get this issue resolved, every time I have called I was told that I would receive a call back, those call backs never happened. But oddly enough after submitting this review the next day I was called by an agent from your Max Fitness corporate and threatened to send my account to colllections, but when I asked them if they could help me cancel my account I was told no. The same account that they can’t find for me to cancel. FITNESS GOERS BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY. YOU WOULD DO BETTER TO SPEND YOUR MONEY AT PLANET FITNESS OR CRUNCH OR JUST SIMPLY BUY YOUR OWN EQUIPMENT.

Max fitness has always been and always will be my home gym. I’ve met the best people there including Cathy and Loren Fuller. After being a member for 4 years, I was treated so amazing and I have no complaints about any bit. I 100% recommend this gym to anyone who is looking to get in shape. The trainers are also amazing people too. I miss my home gym

We used to love this gym (me and my fiancèe) but i left recently because we found a gym that is to our liking and offers WAY BETTER PRICES. I’ve been a member since 2021, i signed an 18 month contract which should be up by now 10/2023, just because everybody is leaving they are trying to rip people off and make everybody pay a cancellation fee of $99 which is really unfair. My fiancée left our plan but it still shouldn’t change the fact that i’ve been a member since 2021, i stayed on the same account and same card number in file. I wish i could talk to higher up management because this is ridiculous, i thought it was just better paying off the $99 than getting stuck with them longer they only care about money money money, but honestly i regret giving them my $99 i wish i could get it back. Take your money elsewhere.

All good till my fiance had to cancel. We were on a couples contract. I decided to terminate mines to go to another gym, but the condition was to just continue till the original completion date (not renew her contract and extended). We were both told was that she was set to continue till her original 18 months were up and the go month to month. What they ended up doing was renewing a contract hence extending an extra 18 months. Extremely disappointed. Continuing and renewing are two very different things…

If you're looking for a gym with childcare the ladies in the morning kids club make this gym worth it. My kids love coming, they're kind and amazing and allow me worry free/ kid free gym time.

I cannot get over what a positive experience I had with Cathy today! I walked in for the first time with my two little boys looking to join the gym as I had been referred by a friend. As soon as I told the front desk that I was looking to join, they had Cathy meet me within two minutes to give me a tour and to help me drop off my boys at the kids area. I have been in sales and customer service for the last 12 years so when I'm on the customer end, I pay very close attention. Cathy was professional while still being incredibly personable. My son's have pretty different names and she was so adamant about saying them right and memorizing them. While she was giving me a tour of the gym she kept saying hi to the other members and had all of their names memorized! I've never seen that before, and I was incredibly impressed. She really just did a fantastic job. Also, the girls who work in the kids area did such a great job with my boys. My baby is two months old and can be pretty needy and demands to be held by mommy all the time. I couldn't believe that they didn't have any issues with him. I watched them on the camera they have available and they were great about holding him, rocking him, and just giving him the comfort and attention he needed. I'm extremely cautious with my children and stress a lot about leaving them to be watched by other's, but they were great with my boys and it eased my mommy mind and heart so much. I'm excited to continue going to the gym, and know I will always be welcomed by friendly faces.

I love this gym❣️ They just got new equipment and I am taking full advantage of it. I used to be scared of going to the gym and would make a B-line to the treadmill. However, the staff and members here are so kind. I have learned so much about not just fitness. but health and wellness. I am not going to lie the staff members were a little intimidating for me at first because of their muscles and size. However, whenever I need assistance they are always happy to help. Eddie the assistant manager shows me a new exercise every week. He is Such a nice guy. I never feel like I'm bothering him. Bella literally took apart a stair stepper and put it back together after I dropped an airpod in it. Deyone the Push instructor is always encouraging and fun (those classes are no joke 😭😂). Mrs. Cathy the Gym Director is always busy and working on events for the members to enjoy. When she's not ripping and running you can find her in her office. She is lovely. Mr. Loren the Training Director has really changed my fitness journey for the better. I am lifting weights and doing things I never thought I would be able to. Mr. Loren is straight to the point. If you ask him for advice he will tell you and it works. If it's not working then you just aren’t doing it. Zoe a Fitness Trainer is so nice to chat to. Andrea, Lydia, and Israel the front desk girls are always welcoming. I try not to distract them too much but it's always lovely to chat with them about books and Love Island. I can not speak highly enough about the staff. They keep the gym clean and organized. It used to bug me when the weights would be out of order or parts would be everywhere. Well, not at max the dumbbells are in order. There are bins, racks, and organizers. Honestly, I could keep going on and on. I have made life-long experiences and created new goals for myself because of Max.

Pretty awesome gym. I can’t think of anything else you’d want from a gym. It has treadmills, bikes, elypticals, free weights, a half dozen squat racks, benches (incline, decline, and flat). It has a day care. It has an aerobic room, a stretching room, machines for every muscle group. Boxes to jump on. It has a sauna, showers, lockers. I do not know what another gym could offer that this gym does not, and this gym is pretty cheap.

Very impressed with the CS at this gym. Wife signed us up: childcare is a must for us, and the staff tending to the childcare center were great. Cathy, one of the owners, is a saint. She was incredibly kind and courteous, and the fact that she remembered individuals at the gym by name really stood out to me. Personally, having worked providing services in the past for certain national chain gyms, I don't understand how this place only has a 3.5 out of 5 rating. Not only are they staffed with great employees, and owned by fantastic people, but they have everything that you can need in a gym, and while it might be a little crowded at times, there is no issue for usable space. The fact they also partner with a local supplement shop or additional discounts is also a great sales point for me. You can absolutely trust that your personal well-being and fitness are in great hands at this facility.

Love them!!!! Best gym in the area! Very friendly and professional. They offer personal training services as well as childcare services which has been amazing. Ask for Kathy when you go, she's great at giving you a lay of the land and explaining all they're services. I highly recommend this gym!

This gym was my favorite gym to go to! The staff is so sweet and make it so inviting from the first day you walk in. They were able to help both of us with our goals and helped create a schedule that was conducive to our daily life. the PUSH class was the first class I took when I became a member. TJ, Deion and Cathy were amazing instructors. They made it fun and enjoyable. In such a short period of time, Max Fitness became our home away from home. The staff makes a point to not only meet you but remember who you are and always say hello. As far as cancelling, we had no issues. The moment we found out we would be moving away, they made the process easy and efficient. I am not too sure what the negative comments are referring to about the management but I had no experience with "clowns." I will continue to recommend Max Fitness.

So I lost my job when I stop going. When I thought about I needed to cancel. I called to cancel. They sent me to the site to cancel. Someone called me and told me I had to pay at the time 300 first before I cancelled. I provided them my situations but they said they could not cancel me smh until the balance was paid. YALL hit my credit for 4,000 for what? I never in life seen a gym charge someone like that for no longer coming. . Wrongful but I will have someone to look into it. God bless

I just got stationed in fort benning. coming from ft drum NY. and i can honestly say that Max Fitness is The best gym in Columbus. very friendly staff, great equipment and perfect location. I really recommend it. RLTW!

I love this gym! The staff is super helpful and informative, the equipment is top notch and in good shape. I started my fitness goal here at the age of 38. Deion (personal trainer) is amazing at his job and well worth the time and investment as he cares about his clients and their goals. Could not be happier with the entire staff and place overall.

Love this gym! The atmosphere here is exactly what I need! The equipment is always kept up and serviced well. The kids club is everything for this mom! I love how I can swing by and my kiddo is right there or I can see him on the monitor screen. The trainers are awesome too! My coach Jaime Askew is especially important to my fitness journey! But I don't forget about all the others, whether its push, large group classes, or cycling. All the Coaches are AWESOME! Let's not forget to end it with a good steam in the sauna or snag a few minutes in a tanning bed. Just come experience it for yourself!

You guys recently replied to my other review stating that you couldn’t find my cancellation request and that if I could send you my confirmation email that you would resolve the issue. That is the misleading reply you could have gave. You cannot find the request because I was not able to put it in due to the fact that you guys said that you couldn’t find my account. This issue has been going on for over year and although I have visited and called to request assistance no one has offered to help me until I gave a 1 star review. I doubt that is coincidence, I’m very sure you are only doing responding to me now because this is in the public view. If you're looking for a gym that's fits your needs this is it. Their childcare was amazing! My kids were always super well taken care of and I could get some time alone to do my workout without stressing about my kids. I loved the Sprint bike class they offered. Always got a good sweat on in that class! Highly suggest

I have been a member of max fitness for many years. The members and staff that I see each day are like family; it's always great when someone notices you aren't there - holds me accountable! I was first drawn to this gym because they offer several class options and childcare. Cathy Fuller and her staff are amazing! I wouldn't consider going anywhere else!

My family joined Max a few weeks ago. The staff is friendly and accessible. The gym has tons of equipment! Even at the busiest times we have had no trouble being able to use equipment. The facility is very clean and well kept. We are so excited to be a part of the Max Fitness Family and looking forward to achieving our health goals here!

Do not go here ! They will lie bout the free month and the no contract, if you see Lauren run, he will tell you anything to get into the gym. They are money hungry and based off the review responses they are unprofessional. If you know better you will do better. #DontGo. I don’t have a past due balance i would never sign up with you all , your business ethics are not up to par . I wrote this review for 3 ppl who got scammed and had to pay $200+ in fees to cancel money isn’t the issue on the consumer end , it’s the company. A female worker has harassed me here about my sports bra that I bought from Macy's during the summer. Granted its winter time now and I wear a shirt over my sports bra but hoping this doesn't happen again in the future because a lot of women wear sports bra at this gym in hotter weather. Please use your time to clean the equipment or to ensure men wear deodorant instead of harassing women on what they're wearing. it's 2024.

love this gym! we requested a new mic for our body pump and combat classes because it went out, and they quickly got a new one so we could enjoy our time! everyone is so kind. love all of the classes they offer, and the gym is always clean! shout out to Eddie for being the best worker there!!!!

My name is Angel Ghisleni. After being belittled by Loren Fuller (*was informed he is just a coach/ married to the GM), he proceeded to say, "Don't come back since you aren't welcome here." They continued to charge me monthly, even after calling them and requesting to stop my membership, after I contacted my bank and won the dispute. They are now sending me to collections to pay for a membership that I'm not welcome to go to. Don't recommend going to this gym.
