$20 per car only. You do not pay per head. They do take cash but it has to be the exact amount. Last call for car entree is at 6pm after that they will not let anymore cars into the lake. This is a very nice place was there yesterday. You can BBQ charcoal or propane either or is OK. I took a picture of a grill that was there. It is a nice and clean place to go swimming the water is cold as well. You can bring your own tent, table and chairs. It has kids playground and a volleyball net as well. It has a public life jacket station everyone can use but has to be return when done using. You can not pick up or drop off a person and then enter it has to be a one way trip going inside they will not allow walk-ins and drop offs. There are a lot of spots to pick up your own tent. Everyone minds there own business.

My family and I went to Canyon lake and had a good time. It wasn't crowded and it felt like we were on a real out of state vacation. The water was blue and the white rocks gave the lake a really good resort vibe. The drive into Canyon lake was also so beautiful. You see houses on hills. If you are ever traveling to the San Antonio area you have to go here.

Great place to get in the lake and swim or bring a jet ski. Very clean, 20$ entry fee per car. Not much shade so might want to bring a canopy as most table areas are not covered. There’s a grill next to most tables as well. Oh and wear water shoes or shoes you don’t mind getting wet as the rocks a shells will hurt the bottom of your feet.

Beautiful part of Canyon Lake to swim or kayak/SUP. The beach water level is really low so there’s no sand and it’s rocky right now. But to the left hand side of the peninsula below the rocks you can get in and swim in deeper, cleaner water. Water temp is nice and you can easily kayak or Stand up paddle board here.

I visited on a Saturday in late September at about 3pm and the park was surprisingly not too crowded. There is plenty of space so groups of visitors were able to spread out on that day. I loved how there are barbecue grills dotted all along the shoreline. Every area of the park has close access to the water. There are some picnic tables, boat ramps, restrooms, a play ground, soccer field, volleyball, washers, and kayaks/SUPs for rent. The gravel beach is shallow and great for small kids, or you can venture to the rocky shoreline where the water is deep. Beautiful views of the hill country all around!

The park entrance lady was very sweet and friendly. The park is so clean and well kept. You can tell that it is really cared for. There are several places to set up and swim but we chose the rock ledge area. We loved it! It is a long rock ledge hundreds of yards long on one side of the peninsula. The park was so clean and well kept. I cannot emphasize that enough. The rock ledge has a natural step that runs along the edge and it’s perfect for sitting or wading. We could see many small fish and my daughter enjoyed trying to catch them. We spent the afternoon diving in from the rocks. The water is pretty deep and neither of us could touch bottom. The water is cool but not cold and it was 100°. Water felt about 72°. The water is so clear you could drink it. I think this would also be a fun place to snorkel. We felt very safe in the water. The location is away from most passing boats. It was like a nature overload. The park wasn’t crowded and there were plenty of places to set up comfortably. We went in a Thursday afternoon last week. Diving in from the rocks felt like a cool rush around my body. I’ve never enjoyed swimming in a lake this much. When we got out, we felt refreshed and cool, unlike other lakes where you feel disgusting and stinky. There is NO FOWL SMELL in this water. It’s like clean cool bath water. Wow! I cannot say enough about this park. We’ve decided to make it a tradition to come every year.

I recently visited Comal Park and overall, I had a great experience. The park is well-maintained and has plenty of amenities for a day of fun in the sun. However, I would recommend bringing aqua socks if you plan on swimming in the lake. The bottom of the lake is quite muddy and rocky, so going barefoot can be uncomfortable. Other than that, I had a blast and would definitely come back!" Fee charged $20 local people have different fee .

$20 entrance fee and water felt great. I have been coming to this park when 281 was 2 lanes. I have never seen the water this low. It can be difficult to get in and out along the cliff side. Noticed what might be zebra mussels on some of the rocks. Very sharp. Also, the rocks under water are slick from algae. If you are staying for hours, bring canopy. They give you a bag for trash at the entrance. Open until sunset. Porta potties and dumpsters. Nice shade up under the oaks. Can't put boats in at this park right now. Saw some cute little perch and baby bass. I've seen big catfish, but I didn't bring fishing stuff.

Do NOT recommend! The lake is drying out and the water is dirty and mucky. There are rocky deeper areas for adults or good swimmers but the beach access is dirty brown water and muddy. We will not be returning. We came over 2 years ago and it was crystal clear water but no more. They don't have boat ramps and didn't allow us to bring them through the water.

It's a very basic park, not worth the $20 entrance fee for sure, but I guess it helps pay for upkeep so no big deal. They have boat ramps, most were closed due to low water levels. There is a small swimming area, but it turns into a giant mud puddle from all the dirt getting kicked up. It's really rocky too so keep your sandals on, I recommend water shoes at all times. Many people bring pop up canopies and set them up right on the edge of the water, some are in the water. These are the smart ones, do this if you're going. Overall it's a decent place to go, except for the muddy water, 🤮. My kids didn't mind though.

The water is beautiful and clear by the rock/cliff area. There's also a walk out beach spot as well. The grounds are well maintained, and they hand out bags for your trash at the front gate. Lots of trees and places for a picnic or BBQ. Pet friendly park, but dogs must be on a leash at all times. There is a small playground area for kids and several port-a-potty's. If we are in the area again, we will definitely come back to this park. I think it's $20 a car load if you're not a resident.

Love this park 🏞️. It's always so clean and tidy. Great amenities. Tons of Barbecue spots. I will say if you intend to Barbecue or want a good spot on the weekends during the summer you have to get there an hour or more before they open. The line will be long. Earliest my wife and I have got there was at 630 am and there was already 4 cars ahead of us and a continuous stream of cars were lining up behind us after arriving that early.

Rather pay $20 to get into this lake than pay for parking to go to Galveston beach lol I make the 3 hour drive and it’s worth it ! Only thing is, filthy humans need to clean after themselves, beer glass bottles close to the water where kids are running & playing can be dangerous. Other than that everything about this place is nice :)

My new favorite place in the hill country!! The water was cool and crystal clear. You need to get there early on the weekends because once it’s full they close the park until there is parking spots available.

👍👍 We had a great time here! We opted for the guided "behind the scenes" tour and we were so glad we did. We had a shuttle ride to the top of the gorge with a fantastic view of the lake. That's where we started the tour with some great dinosaur fossil prints. From there, we had a great hike down to the...
