We traveled from different locations across the metroplex to see a great comic to be offended. We expected a great outing and ended up with gross drinks, rude staff, items that were not asked for added to our bill along with a built in gratuity. I guess they know how bad the place is so they hide that part on your bill. Worse part is seeing how Nate the "manager" was so UNPROFESSIONAL, RACIST and demonstrated his true self when he offended one of the comedians with his racists, toxic words. We definitely will not be back and will be sure to share our experience with everyone.

I went to checkout Someone’s Daughters Volume 1 show last night. While it wasn’t my first time attending a show produced by Texas Chuckle, it was my first time being at the Hyenas Dallas. The security guard at the front was polite and patient. The waitress I had was great. The show was hilarious. Then the whole experience went totally wrong. The manager made racist, disrespectful comments to the producer in front of family and friends as he was trying to clear out the club. It was unprofessional and uncomfortable to watch. I definitely won’t be going back.

Terrible experience, will never go back, comedians were not funny, he kept calling us out while we were ordering food, terrible black jokes. The security was goofy too. Never again!!!!!! Don’t waste your time.

Not a bad comedy place. It’s in the mocking bird shopping center next to the theater in the far back corner. Plenty of parking under the garage and around the stores. Came up to the place after an early show and had to wait about 15 minutes crammed into the bar area. Seems like this part could use a better system. Bar items bought don’t count towards your 2 drink minimum. Once seated it’s pretty similar to most comedy places. 2 drinks each person, seating of 4 per table so if you have two, you will be sat with another pair. All this is pretty similar set up to all comedy spots I’ve been to. The venue is decent size. Beers were kinda warm. They serve food here which is a first for a comedy place but I didn’t want to risk it so didn’t try anything. One pole in one section of the venue which can impeach vision for a few tables. Overall a good time and a decent place to see some shows.

Not only do they add extra charges to your tab without you knowing, but they make racist remarks to the comedians who bring them business and even to their own customers. Drinks were terrible, they should just advertise BYOB. The whole management team is a JOKE, talk about a comedy club right? Nobody should spend their hard earned money at this horrible establishment.

Went for the first time last night and let’s just say NOT COMING HERE AGAIN! Also never recommending this place to anyone . Poor management and very racist and disrespectful manager (Nate). Also my friend was charged for things she did not order. Charged 60$ for 2 6$ beers with no itemized receipt. On another note the comedy was great! But hyenas is not a friendly nor welcoming place to come to! Very disappointed.

Went to a show here Sunday night and the manager Nate was unfriendly to both the guests and the comics! While giving me my seats, I asked for a specific table to accommodate a large group. His exact words were “no. We’re not doing that” then sat us at three different tables. Towards the end of the show, he cut the comics microphone off and began to play loud music rushing the comic out of the building. Completely unprofessional and uncalled for. The comedy show itself was great but hyenas is not a friendly, welcoming establishment.

What an absolute joke of an establishment. They email blasted their entire contact list that “you won free tickets” …..then oversold the entire venue. When we showed up, they turned everyone away, even if you purchased a ticket. Horrible organization. Look at how many people came out for this and got turned around! Don’t trust these people!!

Great comedy club. We got to go see Ralph Barbosa and the lineup was overall great. Drinks were also great. Once inside the theater, there is a 2 ITEM MINIMUM per person so just know you'll have to get 2 drinks if you go. Our server was great as well. When inside the theater, the tables are for 4 people so just know you or your partner may be paired up with other people as well. The only thing I wasn't a super big fan of was just the way the seating is set up. I think this may not always be an issue depending where you get say but just know some spots might feel a little odd is all.

Goods: not a bad seat in the house. Tickets are decent price. Good location at mockingbird station. Bad: seats are uncomfortable. They are about as comfortable as sitting in at elementary school desk. Ugly: lack of transparent prices and no itemized receipt. 2 “item” per person minimum. No idea what item means…drink? Appetizer? Water? I ordered a vodka, soda, water, and glass of wine. It was $27. The vodka and club soda tasted like club soda only. The prices on the menu do not sum to the total I was charged. Edit: I just found out they build an 18% tip into the bill for tip. But it is not shown in the receipt I was given. That’s likely because I was not given an itemized receipt The sound system is awful (think of high pitches that squeal and hiss and make everybody suddenly cover their ears). The pre-show music they played was as loud as a concert. If you are on a date and enjoy screaming into each other’s ear then you won’t mind the volume. It’s like being at a concert sitting near the stage by the speakers.

2 stars because they make you order 2drinks or items of food after purchasing a ticket and both items weren’t good on top of a poor show & service. The drinks were poorly made with too much mixer, at a comedy club I’d expect them to pour strong drinks with much less mixers. The food was, ehh, I probably have better food in my freezer at home. And please get new chairs! I think those have been the same uncomfortable chairs for as long as they’ve been open, they look the same.

Had an amazing time! Anyone leaving bad reviews and saying they are offended by anyone here, clearly shows how soft everyone has become these days. If you don’t like jokes, don’t go to a comedy club. That simple. This place deserves 5 star reviews all around.

Tucked away in a shopping dining plaza. Clean bigger than I thought. Attended the 7pm Saturday showing and got seated right away at 630 pm. Waitress was quick and efficient. Comedian was easy to see and hear him, as we sat close to the stage on the right hand side. Drinks were ok. Tip: park in garage follow signs to hyennas. Otherwise will spend time driving around not visible from street, near movie theater.

The managers were hospitable and kind. The price was nice. The comedics was descent. Billy D is very talented. The server is debatable.

Went to the Friday 8:30pm show for date night. Comedians were funny and about what I expected, got some good laughs and entertainment. This review is about the venue. The event room is small-to-medium size, so don't think I needed to purchase the $5 upcharge "preferred seating" tickets unless you want to be on the first row or two. The 2 item minimum once you get into the event area is pretty standard comedy club stuff, nothing to complain about here. Now for my two issues with this place.... 1. Waitresses run a nice little scam to get more tip money. The menu has a fine-print note that 15% gratuity will be added. When the waitresses bring the final bill, it is not itemized and just lists a subtotal, place for a tip, and then total. I am sure most people boozing at a comedy club fill in the tip off the listed subtotal, unknowingly double tipping or more. Not that I have a problem with tipping...I almost always tip 20-30% for bar type stuff, but this scam is sneaky and reflects the type of establishment you are dealing with. 2. At the end of the show, they herd you out the back door and down a narrow parking garage-like hallway. They have to kick you out the back door so the crowd for the next show can come in. Not that I have a better idea for a more efficient process, I just didn't like being herded through a long, concrete hallway like that. May be viewed as minimal complaints, but these two things will keep me from returning....I'll pay a few dollars more and try to find a nicer establishment next time. The tip scam is what really bothered me and felt quite unscrupulous.

I came here to see Eric Neumann. There is no need to arrive early if you purchase a GA ticket as they seat preferred seating first and then GA all together. Beware you must purchase two items per person in the showroom, a comedy club standard. The hosts were friendly and our server was nice. The chairs are a bit uncomfortable and the venue is a bit small / cramped but still enjoyable. There is free parking and a parking deck. When you take the elevators turn the left corner. The lemonade was super sugary but their drinks are not over priced. I would come here again for a show.

Received an email that we got free tickets for Saturday night so I called and reserved 2 spots for 7pm show. Drove all the way from Celina only to be told they sold too many tickets and didn’t have enough seats. A courtesy phone call or even an email would have been nice. Drove over an hour one way for nothing! Nice job!

I would rather just pay for tickets rather than be forced to eat terrible food. They have a two item minimum here and I’m not a drinker. The food made my stomach hurt and I didn’t eat it all. Comedy wise it was a good show!

When we got there, the person checking tickets was rude and did not specify what we needed to show him. Some of us have never visited this club before and we do not know. The show was fun at the beginning, but then the last comedian kept making jokes about cheating and looking at underage girls. On top of that, his jokes about the Navajo nation were incredibly unfunny and distasteful. You could make a joke about anything and you chose that… you should pursue another career.

This venue is a great place to see performers. It is small, but very cozy. There is not a bad seat in the house. We saw Rocky Dale Davis, and had a blast. Because it was a full house, the table service was a little slow, but I totally understand, and was not disappointed.

Comics were all very funny, but I paid for “preferred seating” and ended up with this lovely view of the stage, then was told no when I asked to be moved to another table.

I've been here several times. I always get the VIP tickets if they are available. Then you don't have to wait in a long line to get in, and they let you in before everyone else so you can pick any seat you want. Bottle beers are extra-cold. Paying with a card is probably most convenient for everyone.

1st timer Visited 3/10/23 and I absolutely enjoyed myself. Our server (black/blonde twist) was very attentive & provided exceptional customer service. I'd like to have him as my server every visit. They nailed it with the cast and the lineup flowed so well. The menu is very low budget and along the lines of concession stand food. I ordered brisket nachos, took 2 bites and trashed the rest. My vodka & cranberry was very weak. I'd suggest eating prior to attending and only ordering beer & wine. Granted the menu isn't the highlight here - it's comedy. So please do not expect restaurant quality. Overall good outing that I'd recommend.

WORST & MOST DISRESPECTFUL EXPERIENCE IVE EVER EXPERIENCED. MIXED DRINKS ARE 100% SYRUP WITH A SPLASH OF CHEAP LIQUOR. I kindly notified our waitress *"LAUREN"* that my drink tasted like pure syrup, and her reSponse was " I CAN BUY YOU A SHOT TO ADD TO IT WITH MY OWN MONEY IF YOUR GOING TO COMPLAIN". I was SHOCKED! SHE WAS VERY RUDE RUINING THE WHOLE NIGHT. She then over charged our check by $27 for items we didnt even order. My wife & I left an hour early! HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!!!!!!!!

Heyenas is a great comedy club with amazing shows. I'm not one to complain about the strength of mixed drinks, as i am not a raging alcoholic, but the last time I went, my drink was mostly soda. It was pretty disappointing.

Pretty good comedy place. I just moved here to Dallas in July 2023 and have been here three times already. But BUYER BEWARE. It is written on the front of the menu that they will add a 15% tip to your receipt when you eat at a comedy show. Fair enough. But then when they bring you the receipt at the end of the show, the receipt doesn't show an itemized list of what you ordered plus the tip they added -- it just shows a total with a "+ Tip _____" prompt. This has the sole purpose of fooling the customer into tipping twice. It's low-brow and borderline unethical, but they make up for it by giving you free passes if you get on their email list. I'm deducting one star.

Great night! The first time we went the main comedian was a miss for me, but the second time was absolutely great! The staff is awesome at getting you're food or drinks quickly and checking in on you the drinks were delicious and it was a great date night for my and the husband.

Would not recommend, you’ll buy tickets days before and they will cancel the show the day of, a few hours before with no explanation, and be rude about it. Made plans to go to a comedy show for my birthday and then they cancelled it last minute, don’t make plans or trust them with your money unless you want to be disappointed.

  • 3/5 The W. 1 year ago on Google
Staff is helpful & friendly, seats are little uncomfortable but not terrible for the short time you are there. Eat before you go (remember it’s a comedy club not a restaurant); but if you do get hungry they have a small snack menu (if you want to pay $6 for some Tostitos & Pace Picante sauce 😂). But overall, the beer was cold & the comedy was good.

Came here to see David Lucas and he was awesome.Only gave it 4 stars because how packed it got inside before being seated. Other than that, everything was good and show was 💣.

I love Hyena’s! While the comedians aren’t always my type, it’s always a lively, fun, engaging environment. The two item minimum is actually really nice and allows them to offer free tickets and hire entertainment and pay their workers. I love coming here and plan to return!

We met Nate, the manger, at a dog park, and he was kind enough to give us an invite. We had never been and really didn't know what to expect. We went and were more than satisfied with the experience. The comedy was awesome and the service was great. We left happy and are looking forward to our next visit.

Really enjoyed the comedians they brought in and drinks were good, just a little spendy. They have a regular raffle for free tickets though so I’d love to come again!

I don’t understand all of the negative reviews, this place is awesome! Saw Josh Wolf there last night & had an AMAZING time!!! Everyone who worked there was friendly, accommodating, & attentive. Seats were great, prices were very reasonable, & the show was phenomenal, what more do people want? We can’t wait to go back for another date night.

Horrible experience. We were charged for drinks we did not order and employees and management did nothing about it. The margaritas we did order tasted like lime mix. I don't recommend this establishment but if you do go check your receipt carefully.

Totally loved it here, the drinks were good, great selection from wines to liquors, and the line up was great, definitely go check out this place. Prices were just right and you can't go wrong, great location. Nice eats right around the corner too. Great for a little walk.

The headliner was good. The service is good and it’s a good thing too cause there was no way I was going to be able to make it to the bar with how many people they pack in there. The seats are pretty uncomfortable and tables tiny and there’s 4 to a “table”. And you have to show up an hour early to get a decent seat…if you have to pee during the show it could be a challenge.
