Went for our 5 year anniversary, booked the spa for two and 1 night. We ended up upgrading our room to the Lindsey room and it is gorgeous. The view in the morning is breathtaking, the wildlife is wonderful to hear and see. I would have my wedding here if I ever get to. Lovely staff who helped us with any queries we had. Food was to die for as well, first time we have had a three course meal. Our breakfast was lovely as well, all self-serve except your teas and coffees. Highly recommend going for the experience and views.

Beautiful historic hotel, located in 500 acres of parkland. There are feature rooms available, over 190 rooms. Breakfast served in the conservatory restaurant, also used for afternoon teas. Bar food is excellent, well presented, service excellent. They have many function rooms available for weddings and various other celebrations. Medieval banquet is a great experience, the 4 course menu is delicious, entertainment is excellent the staff work really hard, very pleasant evening. Would definitely recommend an overnight stay

After staying at Coombe Abbey, I don’t think I will be satisfied by another hotel ever again! I have stayed at luxury hotels around the world, and nothing has compared to the beauty, service, and excellence of Coombe. My husband and I stayed for a night to celebrate our honeymoon, and it was absolutely magical. The building, interiors, and the suite (we selected the Gibson Room) are all exceptionally beautiful. Curated to give a truly historical experience and feel glamorous all at once. Our room service was absolutely divine and really went above and beyond with exceptional ingredients, like the rich duck egg in my Scotch Egg. After going for a walk in the stunning gardens in the afternoon, we returned to find chocolates and Baileys along with the weather forecast. It was so thoughtful and wonderful, we were overjoyed! Overall this hotel has changed the game in every way. If you’re looking for a place to stay in England, you simply must stay here.

I booked a room via one of third-party travel apps with a surprisingly cheap price for what seems to look like a mansion-type room, judging from the image displayed in the app. I turned out, the room I booked was a very much standard room. I complained to the reception telling how I would know if the image shown was actually a different type of room. Finally my complaint got handled pretty well. They gave me a room upgrade. Aside of that poor app-related experience, I would rate my stay here as 'Wonderful'. The mansion has decent facilities, but quite a good view to walk around. The room also looked quite unique. Breakfast was fine.

I was so happy to get away from the city for a break and found this hotel. The property itself is beautiful, with scenic pathways and a lovely pond that you can walk around in. The staff are friendly and always greet you with a smile. One of the best features is how spacious the rooms feel with their high ceilings. I will definitely be coming back here soon!

We spent a night in one of the grand feature rooms. Nice room, a couple of small issues like a lamp not working but that wasn't a big deal. We had dinner in the Garden restaurant and breakfast the next morning. Food was very nice, and the staff were excellent. The grand feature rooms are located in a fairly new building behind the main house, and ours had a mezzanine floor that contained the bathroom (although the toilet was downstairs for convenience). It was a decent size room, with a 4 poster king size bed. I mentioned the location of the room, because if you book one of these rooms it's worth noting that you're not staying in the main Abbey building. The package came with complementary parking. Drinks are typically expensive hotel prices. It was a really enjoyable evening and overnight stay. I have no complaints at all.

Had our 10 year anniversary meal In the garden tea room, the food was exceptional and surprisingly affordable! Service was good, if I was to be super critical it would have been that we were greeted but left at the bar whilst people whose table was booked later than ours were served first, we seemed to be the only table that wasn't offered water and had to keep asking for drinks. Just felt ignored compared to other table. This was our last meal out before we are having our baby so maybe my expectations were too high (as well as hormones 🙈) this hasn't put me off coming again I just want to be honest with my review!

Afternoon tea here is lovely. The finger sandwiches, sweet desserts and scones were delectable. If you want extra sandwiches you'll need to ask for them. The atmosphere and ambience is what you would expect to have in a really nice location like this. I was really happy with my experience and had no complaints.

One of the most unique places I've ever stayed over. I only stayed the one night due to a local concert but this place Is worth several nights just to explore the building and grounds. Food great, rooms great and especially if you are a big fan of historical looking rooms/decor/buildings. Grounds and gardens what I did see were amazing and loved the little moat out front. Unlikely I'll be in the area any time soon but would love to come again to explore properly. Staff friendly and helpful and amended my booking short notice to allow my 3 kids I didn't originally plan on bringing.

Came here for a business meeting and did not stay the night. Pay and walk car park Lots of car charging bays that at the time was £0.25 pkw Phone signal is limited but there was free WiFi. The place is lovely, really cool and lovely features. The staff are lovely and the meeting room was very nice. Would love to come back with the family and stay the night.

lovely hotel, went for a business trip. The location is amazing, it is in the centre of a country park and I have visited it twice. During the summer its really nice for a walk around the park. The hotel looks and feels like you're a VIP, it really gives a luxury and rich feel. The first time I visited the room was very nice, way better then I expected. Comfortable beds, nice sized rooms and loved the bath in the corner of the room. Makes you feel like you're living in a royal like room. However, the second time I visited which is for two nights, got a much downgraded room. It had an odd old fabric like smell and the hall doors closing were noisy. But the 2nd day, where it was cleaned the odour was gone. Service is top-notch and can't complain. Breakfast is also really nice, it is in a beautiful conservatory and its an all you can eat buffet, with loads of options. Never seen a hotel in the UK like this. Waiters are very friendly and offer you a nice cup of tea or coffee. The room service is nice, I love their brownie with ice cream and have had it on both occasions. Nice hotel, would come again.

First 🌟 great place, did a great job in restoring and the new wing, excellent for meetings, Christmas functions, with big and small rooms for seminars. Second ✨ nice rooms with big baths, clean not run down. Very comfy beds. We choose the room with the views over the front fountain loved it. Second ✨the ground s are very well kept, staff were nice enough to show me around, let us look at the rooms to make our selection, made me want to spend my money there. Because of the staff we decided to dive at the hotel. Third 🌟 Food was yummy, the main menu was a bit ordinary, I ordered the beef and it's was so tender chased down with a lovely Chablis instead of red. Not really much for vegans or vegetarians but they allowed my girlfriend to order from the bar menu which out a few extra things on it but she could eat. Forth 🌟 cute little places to have drinks and starters about the place. One thing is I was disappointed there was no fire places anywhere. 😔 as it's cold all the time. Damp from the moat I guess, which was also very cool Fifth 🌟 overall rating, great breakfast which was included, and free parking, cannot tell you how refreshing it is to not be extorted for parking. Great place, would Stay again well worth the price we payed. it didn't break the bank. Very Cristmassy 🎅

Wow, what a hotel and venue! We stayed for business overnight and for a conference. Fantastic location and setting. Food was amazing. Only downside was the cold temperature of the conference room throughout the day. Staff even went and bought extra heaters to try and get some warmth in the room. Hotel room was amazing, with lots of character

Afternoon tea here was fabulous. Lovely setting on the conservatory. Really nice, friendly staff. Very attentive. 3 out of our 6 party had special diets and all were catered for. Bonus was the beautiful building & gardens we walked round afterwards.

Enjoyed a short stay here for a friend's anniversary/birthday celebration. It was fantastic atmosphere. Well tacked away from the hustle and bustle, its hidden gem i think. I would love to go back in day light time to explore the grand grounds properly. I would recommend a visit.

A wonderful evening. Had a ‘bid’ offer to upgrade our room and got it so had a wonderful one - really amazing! Staff were extremely helpful and polite always, service was brilliant. Dinner was beautiful and the breakfast buffet very good. The hotel itself is just pouring with history out of every crevice - really grand and spectacular!

Incredible location steeped in history in a really peaceful setting. Food was beautiful and service excellent. Room was a little tired in places but it added to the charm and experience. Stunning views and lots of nooks and crannies to explore. One too many tequilas meant we lost our room for an hour giving us the chance to look around! Definitely worth a visit. Cafe and visitors centre in the grounds, children's playground and beautiful walks

The hotel is situated in a very nice environment. The park surrounding the hotel is very large and has a typical English style. Also the food in the restaurant was very good. The building itself is also amazing as it is an old abbey which was turned into this hotel. Massive walls and a couple of nicely renovated exponates are around which I really enjoyed. However, the room I had was I was expecting from a hotel of this class. In my understanding the room urgently needs renovation.

The hotel was absolutely fantastic! My room felt like a royal suite, complete with a delightful private steam room and a luxuriously comfortable bed. The breakfast buffet was both extensive and scrumptious, offering a wide range of delicious options. What's more, I even enjoyed the added perk of complimentary parking for my room, while my friends had to pay for theirs. Truly, it was an exceptional stay that exceeded all expectations! Only one thing is if they can add an air conditioner in the room that would make it perfect as it was a bit hot

Excellent medieval banquet which is highly recommended. Actors were very entertaining and the food good. Overall a great evening. Drinks pricey. Service can't fault. English breakfast was a tad on the cold side, toilet seat in room wasn't secured properly, extractor didn't seem to work as the bathroom was steamed up and signs of mould on the ceiling near the shower.

Went for an afternoon tea having had the voucher purchased for us. Nice set up. Very attentive staff and pleasant food. Several options available on the menu and lots of different tea's and coffees to choose from. Very pleased with the experience.

I recently enjoyed afternoon tea at your establishment, and while the on-site staff was delightful, my partner and I experienced discomfort less than an hour after leaving. Seeking to inform and ensure the well-being of others, I emailed your team about the issue. Regrettably, the response, while prompt, seemed quick to dismiss any possibility related to the establishment's food. I understand the seriousness of food poisoning, but my intention was to bring attention to a potential concern in food preparation, not necessarily to assert a definitive cause. The suggestion of providing a doctor's note felt overly stringent. As a patron, I had hoped for a more empathetic and investigative approach. This experience leaves me disappointed, and I may consider exploring alternative venues for future visits.

The most incredible hotel I’ve ever stayed in! My partner and I book a room here every few months as a nice little getaway and I absolutely fell in love with the place. The rooms are incredible and the staff are so friendly. You will not be disappointed staying here. I only came home this morning and I already can’t wait to book again!

Great location, fantastic surroundings. The staff were very friendly. The food was great, too. The actual room we stayed in needed a bit of an update, patchy painting in the ceiling hence only 4⭐, however, I would go there again anytime. The kind of place I wanna be👌💎

If you are fan of the Gothic this quirky hotel has all the nooks and crannies you would wish for. Unfortunately for some the stay was marred by torrential showers which flooded some rooms and the main courtyard. The overall experience was enjoyable though you need a map to get around the dimly lighted corridors. Great for themed evenings and they certainly crammed them in on my stay. Currently bars at the hotel experiencing a few niggling problems with beer stock. Overall a comfortable stay and room and bathroom pretty clean and tidy. Yes I will visit again probably in the spring time.

We have been returning to Coombe Abbey for 6 years and until recently, have thoroughly enjoyed each stay. Unfortunately, as much at it pains me to say, we will never be returning. This July we booked a stay at Coombe Abbey for my husbands birthday and opted for an upgrade to Dove Cottage. Let's just say that this is more of a regress than an upgrade!! We went back to reception to ask for our original Dudley Room, which was the was decorated in a lovely fashion but in need of a good clean and a lot of maintenance! The shower ceiling was black with mould as was the sealant. With cracked & broken tiles. (Pics taken) Rather than plastering reviews on social media, we opted to contacting the property directly to share our views on the previous stay. (Please be advised, we were not looking for any form of compensation., we understand the importance of addressing issues directly prior to airing our opinions online). Coombe Abbey were extremely apologetic and offered us a free night as compensation and assured us that the upgrade we had opted for originally would be marked as unavailable until it was brought up to standard. We chose to extend the stay for our anniversary and were excited to see what the new room would bring. We had the Nesfield suite. We were so disappointed. Upon arrival they had informed us that there was no chef as he had walked out the day before. So along with the 2.5 hour drive to Coombe Abbey, they expected us to travel another half an hour to the nearest decent resturant. We ended up with a takeout McDonald's (tragic). They couldn't give us an answer to the question about the rest of the week for evening meals, especially our anniversary. Disheartened as the bin hadn't been emptied in the room and they had given us the wrong wine. We decided to leave the next morning and booked ourselves in somewhere else. It's so sad to see such a beautiful, well run establishments standards dropping to the point of deterring customers from returning. I sincerely hope they manage to turn things around but we will not be returning.

Stunning hotel and grounds, with a lovely garden. Went for an afternoon tea gifted by friends. The tea was nice, albeit the service was rather slow. Nothing wrong with our food, some things were lovely, some mediocre. We had to wait for a while to be seated, we were the only ones waiting at the time. Staff kept passing by and did see that we were there. One staff member said that she will be back with us in a second and never came back. After we were seated, we could see other visitors having the same issue. This kind of set the mood for the visit. Chairs and table cloths could do with a good deep clean. Quite a lot of stains, and overall things looked a bit tired. The inside of the hotel and the grounds/garden are absolutely gorgeous. I would definitely visit again for a walk or a picnic, probably not for the tea though.

The place is beautiful loved everything about it. The scenery is beautiful. There's even space for a helicopter to land on. A marquee that can accommodate 400 guests if not more.

A stunning hotel in beautiful grounds! My friend and I shared a lovely twin room; the beds were comfy and there was plenty of room for both of us. We had lunch there, as part of the awards ceremony we were attending, and the food was delicious. I very much hope to return.

Stayed at this hotel expecting a quality experience. Beautiful grounds and castle but tired interior, very average to poor service. Although my evening meal was excellent (even if the service wasn’t). I was leaving early and expecting an early breakfast but it still wasn’t open at 7:10am. When I complained I only got platitudes but no offer of a refund for failing to deliver the breakfast I paid for.

We attended the Christmas Carol's with tea function. Setting was very nice but the food was bang average, very little thought went into the design.

Loved it. Great food. Traditional customer focused hotel in an historic setting. Great grounds to walk in and good local walks. Comfortable room, big bed, nice view. Nothing to dislike. Except the hash browns which were disappointing both mornings, but hey that's a small complaint in an otherwise great stay! So comfortable. So inviting. Loved it.

We did not take rooms just afternoon tea, we was told as it was mothering Sunday we could order sandwiches and cakes with our teas, the 👨‍🍳 said it was OK and then being told by the head bar and restaurant manager that only teas could be ordered. We politely told him to instruct his working staff correctly of the intentional requirements, we told him of the rudeness of his manor to very willing and capable paying customers that we would purchase teas on the lawn.

Stunning location, and building, great rooms! Service was very shoddy, which I am surprised about, as it's usually on point. Server didn't have card machine and food came out about 20-30 minutes apart, which is never ideal. I ordered the steak, which came out very quickly, but certainly wasn't worth the £30 I paid for it! Food was generally very good quality, but server's need more training, they literally brought everything out, one at a time, which included condiments and individual sets of cutlery. Can't fault surroundings though!

Remarkable hotel; we loved everything. The room was nice and big enough with all you'd expect from a hotel of this standard. Breakfast was delicious and a good choice available. The bar is open until 10pm plus room service stops at the same time. ample parking onsite and huge grounds to walk around.will definitely return to stay and experience the medieval banquet. Staff couldn't have been anymore helpful and polite. Lovely place that you've got to experience.

Coombe Abbey Hotel was amazing. Attended a wedding here. The building is wonderful. The staff are first class. The food was so tasty just excellent. Just one little criticism need a bit more lighting in the court yard and over the moat bridge

Just want to thank all the staff at the hotel for our wonderful stay on the 27th of December. It was my partners birthday and we stayed in the Lucy bed chamber which she absolutely adored. We had the romance package and the flowers, champagne and chocolates were a lovely welcome. Dinner was lovely and I proposed during dinner and received complimentary glasses of champagne and everything just made it the most special night of our lives. Thank you for everything you all did.. cannot wait to return !

The building itself looked amazing, with the water running around it and the beautiful gardens.. The hotel was lovely inside, the staff were great and so was the food. We ate in the garden room, which was beautifully laid out and the staff were friendly and attentive. The food was spot on. I would advise the bread with olive oil. Large enough to share and was warm. Beautiful. We had a feature room that was lovely too, but it needed a good clean and some tlc. The extraction in the bathroom didn't work and was full of dust, the bath plug didn't stay in place and we initially had no power to any sockets. We were promised champagne, flowers and chocolates but initially only received chocolates, until we asked, then we received the champagne. At the price charged for a feature room, there shouldn't be any faults. However, these were minor points and I would stay again and would recommend a stay.

Great place with a lot of events going on. Weddings, experience nights, parties of all sorts of sizes. It’s a really unique place that feels like you’re in a bit of a theme park. We went for a medieval banquet night - which was amazing and great fun - such a good setting for it. Grounds a lovely and you have the country park right next door you can explore for free and also has regular markets and amusements.

We had a lovely afternoon tea here followed by a night in a special room with breakfast. All was going well until the boiler broke. So we were moved to another room with hot water 👍. All through this the staff were excellent and dealt with the problem with patience and humour. The special room was magnificent with a tremendous view of the park. Room 2 was more modern but comfortable and spacious. I would definitely recommend a stay here. I was told a new boiler is going to be fitted 😂👍

Absolutely amazing place steeped in history, stayed for a for a 1920’s prohibition night speakeasy blinders themed evening with my husband as a belated Father’s Day gift. We stayed in the Princess Elizabeth suite it was out of this world spacious, fabulous decor, four poster bed. The attention to detail was exceptional, especially the chocolates and the baileys left for our evening turn down. It was our second stay at this hotel and have to admit the service was exemplary and the staff went beyond my expectations to ensure my stay was as special as could be. I am extremely grateful for the service me and my husband received and would recommend Coombe Abbey to anyone wanting that extra special something from a getaway. A big thank you to all the staff who provided us with amazing food and service we had a memorable time.

Fantastic weekend away. The building and grounds are stunning. Afternoon tea and medieval banquet was fantastic. Entertainment for evening was so funny then a disco to follow. Breakfast was superb except I didn't see a veg option for the cooked breakfast.

Another amazing stay at Coombe Abbey. Halloween banquet this time and it didn't disappoint. Little personal touch getting an anniversary card and all the staff wishing us happy anniversary. Banquet entertainers were amazing like always and was nice to chat to them before the banquet as they helped 8 years ago with our engagement proposal.
