I had high hopes for this restaurant. With such a long and stellar reputation, of course I expected much. That coupled with the price makes this a bit disappointing. The bright parts of the evening start the decor and staff. Though not on the level of other restaurants I have reviewed they put in the effort. Also, the prime rib, what this restaurant is built it's reputation on, was excellent. Well prepared, flavorful and just good. The creamed corn, good and the 007 martini was as well, but depends on the bartender. The down side, was the duck: a bit dry. The dessert: limited and not endulgent as it should be. Service: trying but not performing. At these prices, asking for anything is a slip, having to box your leftovers and not checking on you enough all add to less then stellar service. Still, try the prime rib with creamed corn. That is a meal well worth the price.

Honestly, I was super disappointed with this place. I was really looking forward to trying it for about a week prior to my visit. Arrived and the place was dead on a Saturday night. That should have been my clue but we gave it a fair chance. I love food and rarely is anything left on my plate. I got the prime rib bones, and they were just unpalatable. The poorly aged, damn near rotten meat had what seemed to be a lazy attempt at homemade bbq sauce, but it was basically ketchup watered with a splash of vinegar. Service was terrible, as we never received our second round of drinks. Had to go to the bar to get my check, because our server never returned.....ever. Poor food, poor service, and way overpriced unfortunately.

OMG Where to even start? This place was incredible. Outstanding atmosphere, perfect service, attention to detail, willingness to satisfy the customer. Salad was great, crab cakes were so yum. I had the bones (ribs) which were hearty. My husband had the rack of lamb that was fabulous. And my daughter had the salmon. All portions were generous and absolutely delicious. The cream corn they serve everyone was so good. Dessert was spot on. You absolutely cannot go wrong with this outstanding restaurant. A must for a great meal. I left wanting to take the restaurant home to Montana with me.

Gulliver's is an old classic that has been around for years! They are known for their prime rib, Brobidingnagian, famous creamed corn, and a pretty special wine and mixed drinks menu. We tried the: aged rib eye, salmon filet, filet mignon, rack of lamb, prime rib, ceasar salad, wedge salad, creamed corn, mushroom soup, creamed spinach, twice baked potatoes, and the herbed focacia and sourdough bread. The lychee martini was excellent and the Mimosas were so refreshing! You can expect a hearty meal when visiting Gulliver's, but most importantly, expect top-notch service and a warm dining atmosphere.

Good restaurant right off the freeway right by the John Wayne Airport a little small and I think a little less classy but I kind of like that

My beautiful wife has been dining here since she was a kid, and this was my first time. To start off our waiter “Tony” was awesome, he made sure everything was perfect. We traveled from Arkansas to eat dinner here. The creamed spinach was delicious and the texture and taste was great, and the creamed corn was like none I have ever tasted before, it has a sweet taste. Now the prime rib was HUGE! It was juicy and just about melted in your mouth, but my wife had me cut off small bite sized pieces then a little horse radish and spinach dipped on my fork and dipped it in aujus yummmmm! The Yorkshire pudding was good. We had some wine and also the shrimp cocktail was fantastic. We will eat there again real soon. Google doesn’t allow enough stars, and Tony we want you to wait on us again! Thank you so much…………

I have never written a review in my entire life until now, but this place was so beyond disappointing, it warrants a review so I can save others time and money. If you like rude workers, overpriced food and sub-par quality and taste, this is the place for you! If you don't... take yourself to Houstons or Flemings down the way for a lovely experience. For starters- we had an 830 reservation. However, when we walked in and shared that info, the guy looked down at his iPad, said my name, then never looked back up? Like are we supposed to sit and wait? Are you going to seat us now? He literally just said nothing so we went and sat and until someone seated us (right off the bat, this place was an L). Their menu last night was the holiday menu (we went on NYE). There were no sides listed on the menu except with the prime rib special, which comes with creamed corn, spinach, and that pudding stuff. No sides were listed with anything else. We wanted to know if they had other options and asked the waitress what our other options were for sides. She looked at us like we had 3 eyes when we asked if they had other sides. She asked us, "what do you mean?" and we were like, well, do you have potatoes or something? She pulls down her mask and says, "What do you want?" with a fat attitude. We replied " Well, we are looking at the filet and prime rib," and we wanted different sides. So she rattles off the potatoes and fries and whatever else they had for side options that are not listed anywhere. The food came out SO quick, but the sus kind of quick that indicates it's not fresh, which was later proved by the lackluster flavor. After getting our food, no one came back once to check on us. Literally not once. The mashed potatoes tasted sour and were cold, the green beans were also room temp and were not good and had no flavor, and the "twice baked potato" looked like the chef had baked it about 5 times a week ago, not to mention it was TINY and the skin was so hard you couldn't even eat it. The filet was not bad, but was SO salty, as was the prime rib. However, they screwed up my order and gave me the monster dog prime rib at the regular house prime rib price, so that was cool. My boyfriend got the filet and it was very tender (which was surprising and pleasant) but very, VERY salty. For two sodas, an appetizer, a prime rib meal, and a filet meal it was $140. If it were Flemings' quality and service, I would have been cool with that. But no- this was like TGI Fridays quality and Flemings prices. It just was not cool. At all. The place was packed, and I honestly have no clue why. However, the Christmas decorations were super cute, and they played Christmas music which I was happy about. Besides that, it was a whack experience, and we were left confused about the hype, food quality, service, and hefty price tag.

My husband and I, at the last minute on a Thursday evening decided we were really hungry for some American/English comfort food. We headed to Gulliver's across the street from John Wayne Airport in Orange County. We had been here at Christmas of last year and also a family Thanksgiving a few years ago. Ya know, they are the quintessential, Old World, British inspired decor, over the top, decorations and memorabilia, one of the last standing of it's kind. I so appreciate that they are still operating and in business. The food doesn't disappoint, from the Prime Rib and steak entrees to the fish and chicken entrees and the "sides", especially the creamed corn, but all the dishes were like homemade. Fresh Broccoli, green beans, mashed and stuffed twice baked potatoes and of course the bread! We had a cozy cocktail, the Old Fashion is so delicious and comforting and our dinner service was perfection. Of course, we took home mounds of leftovers and had everything again on Friday evening at home! Our bill was under $200.00 and although that is $$$, it is worth the ambience, comfort, nostalgia and fulfilling fare in which we lavished ourselves! The cool thing is we didn't need reservations as we dropped in at 5:30 pm on a week night.

Ordered a Gulliver lunch cut for 31 dollars and a truffle creamed corn for 15 dollars before tax. The prime rib’s doneness was great, medium rare to medium. The gravy went well with the beef. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.

Authentic English atmosphere, gorgeous decoration, super friendly staff with good food not great. Spinach dip was awesome but the steak was average.

Fun atmosphere! Food was great! Prime rib was excellent as well as the filet. Bar was really cool and was surprised to see it empty on a Saturday night. Some live music like a mandolin player would really top it off.

We forgot about Gulliver's!!!! My father went here for years and we just didn't go back after new shinny restaurants. We wanted something quiet, intimate like an old tavern or something and we called and spoke with Dennis who made us laugh. We decided to go and check it out again and we had a wonderful time. The decorations for Halloween are epic as well as from what we hear the Christmas decorations. We are excited to find a new go-to place.

This restaurant was fantastic. It was family friendly yet upscale. The decor was beautiful! They decorate for different seasons/holidays. The service was excellent. The food was incredible and delicious. Excellent prime rib here. Highly recommend. We can't wait to go back.

Been coming to Gulliver's for 25+ years on occasions. This was Thanksgiving 23 and we had the prime rib, turkey and salmon dishes with family style corn. Another great dinner. One downside, their Caesar salad is not done well, more vinaigrette dressing than garlic creaminess. Also one crouton that was way too hard, probably out for hours.

The happy hour here is delicious and tasty. They even have free munchies. Who does that anymore? The Halloween decorations are fabulous and I hear the Christmas decorations are amazing. It's a new stop for us. We will be back for a proper dinner. Enjoy!

This restaurant has been a fixture in the neighborhood for at least three decades. The ambiance is fun with friendly and attentive staff. The food reminds me of old-school supper-club fare: good, but not great. The portions are hearty and you will certainly not leave hungry.

First visit. Fun restaurant with a unique, old school vibe. Tried the Brobdingnagian. Best prime rib I've ever had. It was MASSIVE. Only ate half there before I got too full. The second half was a sufficient dinner the following night. My only complaint is that the draught menu is paltry. They only had three beers in tap: Stella, an Irish red, and an IPA. I expected more from a British pub. Maybe Boddingtons? Guinness at the very least. They serve it in bottles but it's really not the same.

Very great .. GREAT RARE food... a must have. I can say I instantly got impressed by this food. Had the duck dinner, came with sides, potatoes, and cabbage, didn't expect much from bar 🍸 side menú, but low n behold,... a TRUE dinner. Very satisfying and a secret recipe with the duck, a must have. Try it if you appreciate a real complex dinner. This is it. On my top 3 list now. ✔️. Very UNDER rated place... owners... please don't change,... 🙏 keep it as is. Love it! Best happy hour as is in 2022'. Drinks were top notch. I could of spent less, yet wife n I got slightly excited to take some home.

We came here to celebrate the Christmas season with our family. It's on the pricey side, but worth it. It was decorated so pretty for Christmas. It was very busy. Service was very good. Food turned out good for being so busy. They had baskets of warm, sourdough bread and seasoned flat breads after we sat down. I had the traditional cut of prime rib. It was thinly cut, and it was very tender and juicy. It came with creamed spinach (not my thing) creamed corn (delicious!) And Yorkshire pudding (decent). It was a very enjoyable experience. The crowd is on the older side, but a nice crowd and I recommend you try it once in your life.

Excellent service by a very friendly staff. I ordered the Gulliver's cut prime rib medium rare, which was served medium but was tasty. The sides and coal chowder were very good if a little rich for my tastes. I enjoyed the meal and ambiance a great deal.

Visited on a Halloween weekend with a friend. I ordered the Prime Rib Bones with a glass of red wine and she had the King Salmon entree and a glass of White Zin. We both enjoyed our meals but she more so than myself. The bones were not very meaty and was kind of disappointed about that. We shared a bowl of the creamed corn. The service was good and attentive. The total tab with tax and tip was $88.
