Good Mexican food in a highly decorated motif. PROs: Excellent service Beautiful restaurant Tasty and well presented food Decent portions Very good salsa and chips Comfortable booths CONs: Food was good but not something that puts it above similar restaurants Prices were astronomical $$$$ (see menu) I figure the additional cost is more for the ambience and service Loud music made it difficult to carry on conversations Lots of restaurant choices within 2 minutes. Might try another one next time I am in the area.

Food was great, atmosphere was great, service was great, everything was great.....so why only 4 starts, the music was too loud to hold a conversation. It was difficult to talk to the waiters, who were also great, to take our order. Highly recommend Javier but I would not sit in the main part if you intend to hold a conversation. Did I mention the food was great.

The atmosphere here is off the charts! It's a gorgeous space with lots of unique decor. Great covered outdoor space for dining that has heaters over every table. The space is very comfortable. The staff is also top notch with a high level of service and we're very friendly. Great spot for a high level business lunch. The food was very good, but honestly I expected more from the level they're trying to play at. Don't get me wrong, everything people ordered was good, and we had NO complaints. However, it wasn't as flavorful as I expected from the high level of presentation.

Absolutely Amazing! Great service. Our food was so delicious Amazing, presentation was an A+. Our server Ismael was phenomenal. Busboys were very professional and accommodating. Hostess/front podium could be more welcoming and friendly. I had to great them before they greeted me and on my way out I once more thanked them and said goodbye while the two young man sat there talking about life.

The location and drinks are great. Design and atmosphere rule here. Which helps with the experience but draws even more attention to what is lacking. The service is incredible. The drinks were well made and the dining areas just beautiful. The food was the only disappointment. (At a restuarant with these prices, that hurts even more.) The beef tacos were dry, the chicken enchilada bland. The cheese enchilada was good but at the $$$, not that good. So I might stop for appetizers and drinks but my meal with be elsewhere. If you are not accustomed to Mexican food and don't mind it mild, give it a try. The rice, beans and chips with salsa are a good start.

Fantastic service, awesome food and definitely a romantic spot for weekend hangout and date! Average cost per person is around $50-$70 but you get a very good amount of food, great spot for Mexican food.

My wife and I recently had the pleasure of dining with Javier’s Mexican Restaurant located in Irvine CA at Spectrum Center. Our server, Liliana, was very kind, professional, informative and efficient about her work. We were made to feel welcome and were treated like a “king and queen” with first-class service by the entire wait-staff and the Concierge; who seated us immediately even though they were packed to the brim on a Wednesday night (between 8 and 9 PM). We both appreciate the finer things in life, which includes fine-dining; and we’ve frequented some of the best restaurants around the US during our cross-country adventures and travels. Even based on our very discerning tastes, we consider Javier’s to have the finest Mexican food and menu selections we have ever experienced! The Designer of this establishment did a phenomenal job with the aesthetics, floor plan, flow and circulation — which included lots of detailed architectural features throughout the entire restaurant and bar areas. This restaurant is open-air; and the entire perimeter is surrounded by lush plant-life, torches and fireplaces that combine Mexican hacienda and nautical themes that have been done to perfection! Lots of white stucco walls mixed with rich woods and softly burning candles everywhere. The ceiling itself is a work of art comprised of white ship-rope and off-white branch thatching. As busy as they were this evening, the food came quickly, along with the best Margaritas ever (order the Javier which includes Grand Marnier and a salt-rimmed glass). We were celebrating a couple of special occasions, together, and the ambiance couldn’t have been better. Great energy coming from the entire staff and customers alike. Their food portions are HUGE — and the food is gourmet-quality that is served hot and as fresh as could be. We ordered Chicken Taquitos for an appetizer and two separate combination entrees with Classic Cheese Hot Chile Relleno, Chicken Enchiladas and Shredded Beef Tacos, which were all delectable! If you are looking for the best place to celebrate your special occasion, or are just looking for the finest in Mexican cuisine, look no further. We highly recommend Javier’s to those who are only looking for the finest dining experience. Including our tip, appetizer, entrees and two rounds of cocktails, we outlaid $250.00, and it was worth every penny! We simply cannot wait to return for more of the wonderful food variety and top-notch service being offered daily. 😊

Came here with a large party of 12 for a multiple person dinner. Service was alright, not great, little slow. Like asking for things like silverware and they forgot so it came 20 minutes later when we asked again. Food as always is tasty, but pretty expensive for what it is. Drinks are delicious, but again expensive. On the bright side we got to sit on the patio, which is great because inside can be pretty loud. Salsa is spicy, which I love, but some people in our party were not a fan and they said they don't have an alternative option (so they got guac). Ceviche is delicious.

First time here. Heard good things about this spot. Unfortunately, didn't live up to the hype. Let's talk about the pros: -service: overall it was good. Our waiter was friendly and helpful. There are some things that need improvement. - some of the food was good. Queso Fundido, an appetizer, was the best thing we had. -decor was nice. That's it. Yes, that's it. CONS: - Food: the main entre, Cabo azul, which had a lobster enchilada, chile relleno, and a breaded shrimp taco. Side of plain white rice and refried black beans. Sounds good right? Looked even better. Unfortunately, it was very disappointing. Here's why. Lack of flavor, & bland. The lobster was fresh, but there was simply no flavor. The sauces appear to be full of flavor, but shockingly they were not. (see pics). The Chile relleno was undercooked. Very hard to cut and crunchy. Shrimp taco was average at best. Might as well be from del taco. Best thing on the plate were the Black beans. Go figure. - drink: Javier margarita nothing special. Average. -service: as I said earlier, overall service was good, but the what left a bad taste in my mouth, pun intended, was that at the end of the night, we were the last people in our section and in deep conversation, idk who he was, maybe the manager, never introduced himself. He at first, kindly said, "sorry, but the restaurant has closed and we need to finish clean up"agree asked us to leave, in a nice way. We, had no idea, first time and all she had no problem with it, having previously worked in a restaurant and folks just wanna go home. Context, we were in a section that was closed off from the rest of the restaurant and could not see the rest of the place from our area. It was a small area. We, apologized and my friend said, sorry we didn't realize, and the guys response was, " well look around, it's empty" in a rude tone. I almost went off, but I was ready to go and would address it later. Very unprofessional and poor service. That should not have been the first time we were informed of the restaurant closing and in that manner. Do better. Ambiance: music was way too loud and tables were too close together. Expected better from a "fine dining" restaurant. I don't recommend at this time. Especially, for the price and hype. Average.

Excellent food and service. Most entrees are $30+ but the service and food delivers! The Javier chopped salad with skirt steak was phenomenal. Tons of juicy, medium rare skirt steak with romaine, heirloom baby tomatoes, avocado and cucumbers in a champagne vinaigrette. The Pina Margarita is excellent!

Javier's is a Mexican restaurant located at the Irvine Spectrum Center. They offer upscale Mexican cuisine and provide a stylish dining experience. The restaurant includes a variety of traditional Mexican dishes and a wide selection of tequilas. The restaurant has a great ambiance with indoor and outdoor seating. The restaurant is great for family meetups or romantic dinners. We always prefer the patio seating.

Yummy drinks and Mexican food. The margarita's were delicious. Come expecting to spend some money. Most things on the menu were always $20-30. Good service.

Javier's was everything! I don't even know where to start. If I could rate over 5 stars I would. The menu had a large selection, with so many different types of tasty options; it had something for everyone. The food we received had incredible flavor and the perfect amount of moisture. The drinks were mixed perfectly and were so delicious. And above all that, the ambiance here is unmatched compared to any other restaurant I've been to. All of your physical senses are fulfilled as you're surrounded by beautiful décor with huge plants, upbeat fun music that really adds to the vibe, and through the delicious aroma, the amazing taste, and the perfect textures, that the food brings.

The ambience is superbly elegant. Service is outstanding. We were seated quickly. Our waiter Octavio was amazing. He made some recommendations and was extremely pleasant and friendly. Their chips and salsa were very fresh and good. Our food order came out quick and accurate. It looked great but sadly it lacked flavor. For the price, I expected much more. It was a bit of a let down. The desert was good, but again, it was overpriced and wasn't anything special. I know it's not authentic Mexican food. Maybe best for happy hour or for drinks at the bar. Javier's is great if you're looking for an aesthetically pleasing restaurant with nice ambiance and outstanding service but the food was meh at best... Especially when it's as bit on the pricy side.

  • 4/5 Daniel H. 1 year ago on Google
The food here is really good but definitely on the pricy side. I had the enchiladas and the crab over was delicious. The cocktails were good but not amazing. Very expensive for what it is. Service was nice but a little slow. It took a long time in between courses and drinks. Somewhere I would go once every few years but definitely not regularly.

Great food besides the chips. Really liked the beef taquitos the Chicken not for me. My wife liked it though. The green salsa is better than the red even though the red is good too. My plate with the Chile relleno and enchilada was very good. Rice needs more flavor. The quesadillas in the starter platter were really good their cheese and shrimp is a good combo. Empanadas on the player were good too. Sopes could’ve used some lemon or something in not sure what it’s missing. The bottle of wine we got was pretty strong so if you don’t like hard to drink wine not for you. I liked it though my type. NOW for the desserts, the tres leches was to die for. The flan was good. Now ladies I know you want fried ice cream but I’m telling you it’s not here. Couldn’t really eat it. Ice cream hard as a rock if that’s how y’all like it idk. Our WAITER. Was really good always coming around checking on us other guys passing by refilling our water. Being super attentive great experience

1st time - wonderful experience. The chips and salsa along with the guacamole were yummy 🤤.The roasted ingredients of the salsa quemada are the best I’ve ever had in a restaurant that serves chips & salsa. I couldn’t stop eating it. Sooo delicious. The entire staff is extremely attentive from beginning to end. The precious Tropical decor makes you feel as if you were in a beach’s getaway 🏝️, maybe ✨Tulum✨. So sexy, romantic, happy vibes and relaxing atmosphere at the same time. Great for a family as well as a date . The Pescado a la Veracruzana - Chilean Sea Bass was amazingly great. My tres leches cake was perfection. I’d love to come back soon and try other plates. Totally recommend this awesome 👏 Mexican Restaurant. Thank you 🙏 Javier’s staff for an excellent experience my family and I had❣️

I've been coming here for years! Service is always great! Food is consistent, and drinks as well. Margaritas are definitely higher priced compared to other places, but you pay for the experience and location. Enchiladas and steak quesadilla are my go to's here!

  • 5/5 Paul B. 8 months ago on Google
This place gets really busy, so reservations are recommended. The crab enchiladas were delicious as is the ahi tuna ceviche. They have a good variety of cocktails and I really enjoyed the Organica. The guacamole is delicious, but I will skip the Tres Leche cake me time and go for he cornbread dessert.

What an amazing early dinner experience at Javiers in Irvine. We started with drinks, chips, salsa, and guacamole. Mario was our server and was quite professional and personable. We ordered a few drinks while deciding on entrees, and Mario was the perfect server being jovial and truly helping set the experience. We also saw our friend Arturo, who is also amazing and visited for a while. I had the Tampequena, and my wife had two enchiladas, been and chicken. Both entrees were amazing, and the ambiance and background music were so nice and relaxing, adding to the experience. We are quite thankful, and being someone who appreciates the service industry can appreciate the level of professionalism and dedication these employees display and offer. Thanks to Mario and Arturo for making the late lunch, early dinner, and a memorable and pleasant experience. Highly recommended

We just love the vibe here at and then there's the food it's always good and this wasn't my first visit. My family and I look forward to the shopping, then enjoying drinks and a great meal . This is a must try for those of you looking for great Mexican food or just enjoying fun nice video, good service, drinks, chips salsa, and the Quacamole is fresh and yummy .

It was a nice experience overall. Food was good, and the waiters were very patient. The bartender was wonderful. My only complaint would be the hostees. Better communication with guests and stop standing around talking

Really good food with quality ingredients you can taste. I got some enchiladas with chicken and was amazed at how well prepared everything was. The ambience was really nice and although it was a busy night at no point did I feel like the service was affected. Don’t worry if eating outside in a cold night as they have heaters on the canopy that worked well enough that I didn’t need a jacket.

  • 5/5 Ron D. 1 year ago on Google
The ambiance, the staff, the dishes and the drinks were all top notch. I can understand why Javier's is such a go to restaurant that you'd need a reservation for or suffer to wait the 1 hour or more wait as a walk-in diner. The dishes were well plated and delightful to eat from beginning to end. The restaurant felt like a club, the music playing could make you dance in your seat and the staff were pleased to make sure your dining experience was comfortable. I could not have been more pleased and would definitely come again. Tl;dr - this is an expensive dining experience that caters to the adult crowd and will definitely need a reservation otherwise you'd wait a long time. Worth it though.

Very unorganized management. We showed up for our 8:00pm dinner reservation. Yet we were not allowed into the restaurant because they had to clean the table for us. Come on, don't bull$hit us. Just be honest. Great service and food was decent.

This place is definitely popular for the ambiance, it's a good place for a cocktail, or if you do not have a Mexican food standard. The tacos were good but definitely not Mexican food if you know the food. I got a cucumber margarita, it was good, I couldn't really taste the cucumber.

What an amazing night my wife and I had. From the moment we got there things started right. They sat us down for our 830 pm reservation but it was a high top table. My back does not do well on those. So I requested a low table. No problem. 10 min later we were seated. Waiter was polite and quick. Had our drinks chips and salsa right away. Those chips are killer. Ordered appetizers. Aguachile de Reyes was bomb! And queso fundido was so good. Ordered scallops for me and and lobster and steak for wife. Both were perfect dishes. Cooked well and well seasoned. We shared Trio de Enchiladas del Mar. Crab and shrimp ones were awesome. Lobster one was ok. But well worth the cost. We will be coming back for sure. Loved it here. Thanks Javiers.
