Very good service and great food. Their skillet breakfasts are super good. The Chorizo Scramble mess is my favorite, a lot to eat, but with willpower, it can be done 😁. They have lots of good margaritas , Bloody Marys, and Mimosa's to wash it down. If you need some burritos for your parties a 3 foot or 6 foot burrito, this is the place to go. Also, a good variety of other party size portions off their regular menu items as well. Can't forget their delish menudo. Enjoy.

Very friendly and kind Staff. We are not familiar with Mexican Food. So I asked a waiter which dish he recommended. Both of dishes are very good, however portion was sooo Big. This is the reason we tried one dish just as tasting then we brought it home. So I recommend when you order more than two dishes, it is very important that you had better order one dish is suitable for bringing your home because of its portion. :D I don't know Spanish Language so I can not tell the plate name but I recommend a plate that grilled meat on the Spanish Rice. It is sooo tasty then I tried frying rice for reheating before our eating. Our son liked it very much so he ate all. Anyway, this restaurant is sooo popular so around 18:30 many people wait outside even weekday. Wow ! ! *0*

Hungry? These MONSTER BURRITOS were AMAZING! I got the Chili Verde and it was Excellente 👌 This is a Great little locals place that is always a great choice with a full bar too!

Extremely friendly staff who checked on us throughout our entire visit. The food was great with large portions and priced reasonably. You can truly see that this is a family run operation and they truly care about their customers. If you leave here hungry it's your own fault.

First time here, small place but comfortable enough to have a nice dinner with family , didn't know what to order so our server was awesome and recommended the Mar y Tierra plate, asada was cooked exactly as I order and shrimp were nice and buttery full of flavor, you can feel that they care for their guest and make you feel appreciated, I will be back soon and try something different for sure. Food was delicious. I got a crispy carnitas taco and beans and rice and my boyfriend got the grilled shrimp tacos plate. Both were excellent! Atmosphere was awesome and festive. Service was amazing as well. We got our food extremely quickly and the staff was very attentive! New favorite place!

The food and service are excellent. I come here with my friends once a month. When I walk in, they know my drink, they know my order and they know how I like my salsa (one for each person -its too good to share). They are quick to plate and slow to put a bill down if your conversation is good. They're good at reading when you're ready to pay and are always friendly throughout. Few places warrant a 5 star rating, but this place earns it.

El Zarape needs a bigger location! This place is so good! Just needs more tables and seating! Try this hot spot during the week and before 5pm, this place is packed for dinner and weekends! 5 star service and food!

Very average Mexican food if that’s what you’re looking for. Service was good. Top Shelf Margarita tasted like they used cheap mix. Busy place, but I don’t get it.

We did takeout and everyone liked their meal. Pricey, but everything has gone up these days. Lots of parking in the shopping center. El Zarape is located behind Baskin Robbins.

I guess you might call this a hole-in-the-wall restaurant, but don't be fooled by looks. It is small, hidden behind a Baskin-Robbins, and has a long wait to get in. But the food is amazing. I ordered the shrimp burrito. Not only was it huge, it had large pieces of shrimp in every bite, literally every single bite. My wife had a chicken and a cheese enchilada, and both were stuffed with deliciousness. Their margaritas are excellent. I'm not sure who our server was because everyone stopped by multiple times to check on us. You should definitely give this place a try. We will certainly be back.

It's great having the owner Sal take my order. This location will forever be memorable. My family started at this new location as a Mexican restaurant back in 1978 - Otto's Taco House. El Zarape's enchiladas, beans, and rice have the same taste as our recipes back in the 70's.

It's very busy here for lunch. The food and service is great. It can feel a little cramped how the tables and chairs are in the layout and the carpet smells when entering the front. The Verde salsa is good here.

My order was to go. I ordered the taquitos. As a Mexican I am flabbergasted. The portions were ridiculously small, I could count the lettuce they put, the salsa tasted like can salsa and it was ridiculously over priced. The man who took my order was very friendly and smiley, that I liked. Won't come back! Heck I won't even accepted as a gift.

Great food, great service but the coffee needs improvement. Looks they use "instant" coffee.

There is always a line for this place, which usually is a great sign. The chips and salsa were good enough. I decided to try 2 of my favorites. They didn't taste very good so i took the leftovers home to have my wife try it (without telling her my opinion), she didn't like it either. I went one more time, and similar result. The line is always long, but from my experience the food is not good, and overpriced. I would definitely encourage you to do some more searching and find a good Mexican food restaurant. Don't be fooled by the line!

Awesome authentic Mexican food with terrific staff. Never a disappointment. Their salsa is also beyond good.

Sad day is when you go to Small business and do not get the service that you should expect. I never got a menu or service. Totally ignored by the waiter. I walked out after waiting for 10 minutes. It was not even busy. Sorry experience and last time customer.

Always a treat even though we eat here about one a week. I had the chili Verde burrito and it was amazing as usual. Great people and great food!

The servers are quite witty and funny. Makes it a fun lunch for sure. Ceviche is great!! Love the salsa. The guac is rather bland but we added salt and pepper. All better.

The waiter we had was nice and respectful but there was a mix up with a couple of our orders and when I finally got my correct plate (the Chile Verde burrito), it was so salty that I only ate two bites and left the rest. The chips and salsa were good but not enough to bring me back to eat at that restaurant.

We were new to the area and our friend who used to live in cypress met here for lunch. There food is excellent and their margaritas are the best. Be careful they catch up to you haha. We have gone for breakfast and lunch and they have never gone wrong. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. Service is excellent!!! If you go during peak hours there is a wait but you can have a margarita while you wait which is awesome. I highly recommend this place

Great food but the service was meh though I called the waiter a couple of times only for him to blatantly walk past without even acknowledging took two people at the table trying to get his attention for him to stop. Only giving 3 stars because good was really good if it wasn't for the food the sub par service would make me go to a different spot

We have been trying to come to this place before COVID and it always had too long of a wait. Well I found out why. This place is the perfect family owned restaurant that not only delivers great service, but amazing food. We ordered the carnitas, cheese enchiladas and crunchy shredded beef tacos. All were great and the salsa was good enough we ordered some to go.
