I wish I could have given 0 stars. The service was unacceptable given that this is supposed to be a 5-star hotel. When we arrived around 1am there was only one receptionist checking in a large group. After waiting for 30min we asked whether one of the other staff at the reception could help her to speed up the process. We were asked to be patient as apparently none of the other receptionists were qualified to do so and had to wait in queue until more than hour had passed since our arrival. No apologies, nor any refreshments were offered despite all nearby supermarkets being closed. After finally checking in we had to discover that there was only one set of e.g. Slippers, bathroom supplies and water in our room. Surfaces seemed initially clean but upon closer inspection stains that took more than a quick wipe to be removed were still present. The light is very weak making the room rather dark but the size and facilities are good. Unfortunately, the cleaning personnel ignores the 'please do not disturb' sign and enters the room immediately after knocking briefly, creating uncomfortable situations. The Internet is unstable at times and getting through the hotel's hotline seems impossible. I have not ended my stay yet but sincerely hope my current experiences are not representative of the rest of my time here.

Very friendly and welcoming staff at the hotel! I have to really praise and recommend Denisa in the restaurant. Denisa was extremely hospitable and took very good care of our dietary restrictions during breakfast. She went much much above and beyond than I have ever witnessed a restaurant associate do. The F&B manager Marius Serban made took such good care of us and making us feel like home. He ensured our experience in the restaurant was impeccable and perfect. Roxanne at the front desk was very helpful and we loved her hospitality. Overall, great hotel and extremely amicable and welcoming staff. They go much more than above and beyond to make your stay as welcoming as possible. Would definitely recommend the hotel!!

I didn't stay here but went for a team dinner. The hotel looks beautiful and I will consider staying here my next visit to Bucharest. The staff worked really hard to find a way around a problem I was having with my card to pay and solved it in the end. Great work everyone.

Impressive hotel. Very clean. Good service. Not in the center. If traveling to this boring city then it is better to stay in this hotel. The casino is excellent. net. Good management. And amazing food.

Thé best hotel in Bucharest. Great people from the reception and the breakfast area. The breakfast was delicious and you had a lot of choices. Good value for money. The pool area was fantastic. The only disadvantage was the Italian restaurant. The food was cold and the staff unfriendly.

The Marriott Bucharest offers an experience that largely impresses, with its exceptionally large and clean rooms, providing a sense of luxury and comfort. The staff here are notably friendly and accommodating, adding to the overall positive experience. Additionally, the hotel boasts several high-end amenities, including luxury brand stores, a spa, and a casino, though it's worth noting there's a 50 LEI entry fee for the casino. However, there are a couple of areas where the hotel could improve. The soundproofing in the rooms is not quite up to the mark. During my stay, I was often disturbed by the sounds of people walking in the corridor and doors opening or closing. More disruptively, I was once woken up by the sound of coughing that seemed very close by, which was particularly startling for someone like me who is a light sleeper and easily awoken by unusual noises. I brought this issue to the attention of the reception staff, who were very understanding and promptly offered to change my room. This quick and responsive service was much appreciated and demonstrated the hotel's commitment to guest comfort. In summary, while the Marriott Bucharest excels in providing spacious luxury, friendly service, and various amenities, guests who are sensitive to noise might want to request a room in a quieter part of the hotel. The proactive customer service should, however, mitigate most concerns, ensuring a pleasant stay overall.

The hotel is so luxurious, the reception was average not as expected! Bed was extremely comfortable. Room are spacious. Bathroom was WOW! Hygiene 10/10 You can make shopping from high end brands at the hotel. Very crowded hotel not suitable for relaxation! Food quality 9/10 You can do the booking at Marriott Bonvoy Application.

One of the highlights of my stay was the dining experience at the hotel's restaurant. The culinary team at JW Marriott Bucharest Grand Hotel showcased their expertise with a wide array of delectable dishes. Each meal was a work of art, beautifully presented, and bursting with flavors. The attentive service added to the overall dining experience, leaving me satisfied and eager to return for more.

I met friends for a meeting at The Garden. Really worth having a delicious coffee and Cheese which by the way was delicious. Other desserts too looked beautiful. Service was brilliant, lively and energetic. I last stayed for 5 nights back in 2006. I noticed the gigantic new Orthodox Romanian church. IMMPRESSIVE.

Lovely large hotel with all modern services close to the Romanian parliament and just across the street from the under construction, new State Church. The Marriott is clean & well cared for throughout, with high end shops inside on ground floor.

Simply delighted! The executive room was spacious and refreshed every day nicely. There were fast food restaurants right across from the hotel and the parliament building was within 10 minutes walk. The Bucharest fountain was also within 10 minutes walk from the hotel. There also high end shopping in the hotel lobby. I have also immensely enjoyed breakfast options and the service. Utterly enjoyed my stay at the hotel! I want to thank Marriott for a great experience and the staff for a amazing service.

I was contemplating to choose between JW Marriott Bucharest Grand Hotel and Moxy Bucharest Old Town but somehow I managed to make a decision due to the fact that I prioritized a luxury hotel experience rather than the one located in the city center to stay. Another factor that I considered was the overall facility that the hotel provided which was the wellness. I personally requested to have the room upgraded because I wanted to have a bigger room to stay for the entire duration in Bucharest to celebrate NYE and NY and I got it for free! Thank you very much to JW Marriott for considering the upgrade, much appreciated 😊 The assigned room was very spacious, cleaned and cozy. I loved it very much! The room service was absolutely friendly and professional. The food was scrumptious. During my stay I went to the gym, sauna and swimming pool. Every facility was properly maintained and sanitized. The interior of the hotel was simply luxurious but I didn’t go to the restaurant to eat as I didn’t want to include breakfast in my booking though I had a quick peek and the layout et all was decent. Overall stay was excellent and kudos to the whole team!

The service, rooms, conference facilities, pool and fitness room were outstanding. An easy walk to old town and the Parliament. A fascinating city with a history of tyranny turned democracy after they broke away from the Soviet Union. I pray it stays that way.

Beautiful luxury hotel with comfortable and clean rooms. There is an indoor pool. Breakfast is delicious with a lot of hot and cold options, including an omelette station. There is an executive lounge like all JW Marriotts, it was well stocked and comfortable. The staff were all very friendly and accommodating. I would definitely stay here again.

The hotel is very comfortable. Rooms are very clean. Still on the older look and lack other JW amenities. Staff is wonderful especially the two girls that helped me check in and out. As a friendly advice to the concierge manager, if the girls up front are scrambling to figure out the printer so they can send me on my way, you DON'T ask them to do tasks for you while helping me. Either help them or wait. That's just rude on your behalf and me the customer.

It was a really good stay! The room, the service and everything is just the best in Bucharest. The stay was not intended for my birthday, but the staff noticed and congratulated me kindly. I even got surprised when I got to room, which was really nice and I was so happy. Thank you! Meanwhile, I wanted to use the sunbed at the pool but I was not allowed to borrow the locker. Would suggest hotel to communicate with the gym that hotel guest may just want to use the pool for chilling but not for swim, and a locker is needed to store my personal belongings.

This hotel truly is amazing. Pufu who works in the restaurant went above and beyond to pack us coffee and a few mini croissants because he knew we had a long drive to Brasov. Paula I believe was her name, we met in the executive lounge was incredible and personable. Carmela had identified me standing in a huge line at check in and had never seen me before. We were exhausted from our travels from Los Angeles. She had offered us the executive lounge to relax and eat as we are Gold member of Marriott. This hotel has the best people. People make your vacation great and comfortable. Thank you so much for everything.

The lady at the reception (manager of the year 2021 I think) was not friendly, made us feel uncomfortable with her attitude. The minibar in the room was locked, we had to call someone to fix it. In the room we had only one water glass for 2 people. The sheets were stained. The entire room looked outdated. At checkout, the trainee Mircea was very kind, helpful and friendly, the manager should learn from him. Breakfast was a bit poor, not many options, not the best quality. We had a great time at the restaurant JW steakhouse. Definitely not a hotel worth coming back to.

Two brownies for room service every night please! I reckon I just wanted to get back to the hotel to enjoy one of the best warm brownie served here. What a treat! We stayed here for 4 nights as a titanium - Amazing breakfast, location and service. Really enjoyed our stay, wish the rooms were a bit bigger in size though.

On a positive note: - staff was very polite professional and knowledgeable- especially my dealings with front desk and room service were a delight - efficient and friendly - hotel itself is very spacious and beautiful. Rooms are spacious albeit a tad dark but nothing you can do here given the building design :) - food options are great. Steak restaurant, garden bar, sports bar drink bar and of course breakfast is varied and good quality On a less positive aspects to me: - gym is a disaster. It is big and you will find all you need to work out there but because it is a commercial facility with many external member you will have to wait to use it! You’d expect luxury brand like JW to have private facilities not license to a gym chain. It was always packed - pretty much all day. I used the pool only once since there was no space to splash - so many people. The sauna was nice but again never empty …also the facility is a bit dated and therefore dirtier than the hotel itself. It’s a major flaw and not true to JW brand standard. There was no spa as such - I was told I’d have to pre book treatments so I assume there are some treatment rooms somewhere but not sure about that. Again I thought given the bran status JW would have private have spa& fitness facilities - but not here. - parking was charged and honestly it’s big enough so it doesn’t need to be. It’s not much money but seemed petty petty - location is a bit off centre so you have to take a taxi to old town. Not ideal for everyone so just flagging

Highly recommend this excellent hotel. Spacious rooms, wonderfully furnished and excellent amenities (fitness center, executive lounge, great shops within the hotel, etc). The Garden restaurant has lots of vegetarian options. Impeccable service. Would definitely stay again.

Food prices a bit high but around the hotel there are plenty restaurants to choose within walking distance! Unfortunately at the gym area we saw a guy spitting in the sauna multiple times, and the gentlemens there are acting like wild animals! Such a pity! Anyway I will put 5 stars because I hope that the staff will take care of what is happening in the gentlemans spa area.

Slow wifi, no sports channels on TV, noisy air conditioning, etc. Overpriced, posh corporate vibe with Designer shops and fancy marble floored lobby. Reception called my room late at night and woke me up to get credit card details. Enough said. Way better boutique hotel options.

Had an amazing experience in Bucharest. Eating at JW Marriott was a great place to stay and relax. The food and service is something you will not find in the States anymore. The history here is a fantastic experience that you need to see for yourself. We felt safe the entire time. Don't listen to these people who say everything is dangerous outside the USA. They don't leave their homes, and most are scared of their own shadow. Enjoy your life!! And tip well, these people work hard for it.

Room was nice, hotel is quite big with lots of high end shops if that's your thing. Didn't get a chance to go to the pool and spa but it looked nice from photos and is included. The location is the only issue with this as it's not really walking distance to the main tourist areas. There is a huge church being built over the road which is very nice and a smaller one right in front of it which is worth a little visit.

I really enjoyed my stay here. At first, I thought it was a bit too grand for my taste, but staying here for 10 days quickly changed my mind. From the meal options at the 3 different restaurants, pic from the Steakhouse, Champion was my fav for a quick bite, to the daily breakfast options at the buffet. The person that checked me in was very friendly, and also took ideas from me on what to eat locally, outside on the hotel. (I thought that was very considerate of him.) I definitely recommend this hotel. Quick tip, if you are staying for a long time, take your parking ticket to the counter, and get the discounted parking rate, and you get to keep the same ticket the entire time.

Check in has taken more than expected time. Rooms are outdated. Amenities are good. Beds was comfortable. Breakfast was the best part of the stay. Very disappointing that only open bar at late hours is in the casino which allows smoking inside.

Impeccable service from arrival until check out, professional, demure and courtesy from every team member. Rooms are the best in Bucharest and dining options are outstanding and all top notch! My only minor complaint is the guest parking rates are wicked high, yet based on the quality of the guest experience, perhaps worth it.

We stayed one night at the end of a river cruise. It was a very lovely hotel. Comfortable beds and quiet rooms. The only thing we didn't enjoy was the stale box breakfast in the morning. We had this because we left early.

This is a very grand hotel offering and excellent level of service. Rooms are comfortable and well equipped, staff are courteous and helpful. Good dining options and we had good experiences at breakfast in the JW Steakhouse and the The Italian Kitchen Cucina. Only 3 stars for the location as it’s about 2Km from the old town when most of the attractions are. That said an Uber there & back is quite cheap.

Very bad service I booked 1 night And I wanted to extend.. Then I ran into a representative who said there were no rooms Then he said but... if you pay me 1300 ron You will get a special room from me Disgust to see the client sucker Its location is far from the city The rooms are on the same level as the other rooms in the city In short, I do not recommend going there

From the entry to the loby, until the checkout the experience deservs five stars. Check in is the best one I have had, always with unobtrusive smiles and warmth. The staff is helpfull and the hotel itself has everything you might need during your stat, from excellent fitness, swimming pool to nice restaurants. Breakfast also leaves no unfulfilled wishes, rich, tasty and again with very polite staff offering you drinks throughout the breakfast. My recommendation.

This place looks amazing, like in movies, like that hotel where Kevin from Home Alone stayed for a few days. Their services are premium, everything you want, you just have to call someone from the hotel, and will help you out. The price is expensive, and the location is quite central, close to the Parliament Palace.

I stayed here for one week. The best hotel in Bucharest! Lots of restaurants to choose from inside the hotel. Service was exceptional (you can order food to your room at any time during the night). The front desk staff could have smiled a bit more and could use some North American style cosutmer service training, but were professional. There is nightly entertainment (live piano and violin). A bank (Alpha Bank) and a casino are in the same building complex, which makes exchanging money very easy. I couldn't actually find the gym, but I think it is in the basement somewhere!

  • 1/5 Olivier 5 months ago on Google
Very bad experience because of the personnel of the hotel who charged my private credit card, without my authorisation (!), instead of the card of the company which booked my room. More than 3 hours of administrative procedures from my side to solve the problem. It seems I will have my money back but...we will see. I do not recommend the hotel. I will not come back.

This hotel is large – there’s a Grand Avenue housing designer boutiques, six restaurants (including US and Italian eateries), 402 bedrooms, a heated indoor pool and one of the biggest spas in the area, all under one roof. ❤️ best hotel 🏨 ‼️

Beautiful and grandiose property, great staff and crew, wonderful facility. I can perform cartwheels in the suite, it is that spacious. Lots of space, helpful, informative and welcoming reception personnel with quick check-in and a plate of fresh fruit as arrival gift. Sadly the sauna and pool are off limits due to pandemic and so are the restaurants. There is dining provision for those wishing to eat. The room is exceptionally well stocked and full of small touches making the stay very pleasant. I'd choose this property again in the future.

Nice hotel and one of Bucharest's finest. Service was good with very friendly staff. Location is close to the palace and hence about 20 min walk from the old city. Rooms were overall very nice but the bathrooms had a sewage smell sometimes in the day.

WELCOMING LUXURY The property is enormous and well kept. The lobby is generous. Check-in is fast and professional. Rooms are large and have all amenities needed. The Lounge offers soft drinks all day and "stronger" options in the late PM, alongside warm and cold snaks. Restaurants are good, but do not expect bargains price wise 😉. Breakfast is abundant and offering a variety of local and international options. Services are very good and associates are welcoming and ready to help.

This is a 5 star international hotel, with all the expected services and facilities. However our room as nice as it was (large with 2x double beds) we both found that sadly ear plugs were required due to some sort of variable background noise that seemed to come from the lifts moving? As a result only 4 stars in our view. A little disappointing.

Massive building, in line with some of the other megalomaniac projects of the past in the city, but the location is not great if even part of your stay is focused on sightseeing, very spacious rooms, suite in this case was just plain enormous. Swift check-in, helpful concierge, but no help with the luggage offered. Breakfast at the JW Steakhouse restaurant only okay, although evening food selection at the club lounge on much better level. Overall - surprisingly nice hotel located in fair bit of a distance from the main touristy bits of Bucharest, so unless visiting purely for business, I'd consider more centrally located establishment next time.

They don’t take responsibility for the stores and casino included, forwarding the blame. The stores and casino are in the same building and part of the brand. I generally dislike a blaming attitude (it’s not us, it’s all they’re fault), but it certainly doesn’t work for the Casino carrying the same name. Visiting a Marriott i expect a certain level of quality and spending upwards of $3000 a night, I expect good attitude and friendliness. Don’t expect that about the Marriott in Bucharest - they most definitely don’t make it close to the threshold of good hotel.

Service for breakfast and the bar very slow. The dinner service in the JW Steakhouse was excellent. Front desk "supervisor" argued with us when checking out as we wanted a receipt to confirm no mini bar use - have had problems in other hotels, finding a charge after on our credit cards after getting back home. All in all, it is overpriced for the level of service here. Should be much better.

Room was very large but was lacking in drawers sufficient to store our clothing so we had to leave our suitcases open on the floor. Also, the shower allowed a lot of water to come out onto the bathroom floor. Also, the lighting was insufficient in the hallways as well as the room. On the day of our departure the person at the desk did not offer us the option of a menu option for breakfast and indicated that only the buffet was available.

Not in the heart of downtown Bucharest, but that's sometimes preferable, depending on why you're visiting. The casino is the main draw for most folks, but the amenities for anyone just staying for work or a visit are also nice. Prices are high, but that's expected for this class of Marriott hotel.

Upscale, clean and safe. Probably 5-star for Romania, but 4-star by a global measure. Only downside is you can't stumble out onto the street and find desirable restaurants or shopping -- everything decent is a long, long walk or a taxi ride.

I was in Bucharest for a couple of days and stayed at the JW Marriott, which was a great experience. The staff are very helpful, friendly and accommodating. The service is excellent as would be expected. There are 4 restaurants in the hotel and I would recommend the Italian, especially the tiramisu which they make up in front of you. There is also a promenade of luxury shops in the hotel as well, so you don't have to go far to shop.

Great hotel, I stay here every time I visit Bucharest. Rooms are spacious, I always get upgraded and receive a beautiful desert on arrival. Staff is courteous and professional. Breakfast is good, however the menu is the same for years now. Lounge on 8th floor is awesome, with a variety of drinks. Recommend 100%!!

We had a good stay at this hotel. As part of the hotel loyalty program, we got a free upgrade which was great. Rooms were pleasantly big and clean. Staff were hospitable from the housekeeping crew to the receptionist. We would like to thank Marcel for his friendliness and helpfulness especially with the luggages. Thank you to the team for making our stay in Romania great

Marriott is always a safe option, high class, super tasty breakfast with massive different products. Staff is fantastic, always with a smile. Don’t forget to pack clothes for sports and swim, they have a very complete and luxurious World Class gym. Also the views of the biggest Orthodox Church in the World.
