Not great, wasn't expecting poached eggs like that. No wonder they charge an extra $2 for scrambled eggs. Avocado was super under ripe. Not a great alternative after Jamaica Blue closed at central 😰

We ordered the pancakes and it was literally a single pancake which had crispy edges. Service and atmosphere was good with a nice view of the waterside. We did enjoy the eggs Atlantic and the vegetarian breakfast. The hot chocolate was also kinda sad.

Found this little quiet place by accident. Staff and food is wonderful. Breakfast was amazing. Will have to try lunch next. Beautiful views outside as well.

AMAZING CAFE! Truly a must visit. I had one of the best coffees I’ve had ever and this isn’t the first time. I started off with a medium then went back for a large! Food was great as well and the staff are hospitable, but credit to the barista excellent coffee!! Will definitely be coming back again.

A nice place for breakfast and coffee after a walk around the lake. A good serving of bacon and eggs.

Nice coffee, unfortunately when I arrived around 12pm there were limited items available from the cabinet. Chicken pesto sandwich was OK.

I wanted to take my partners mum for a nice local coffee and she suggested we go here. Fab location. We shared a lovely chicken salad and carrot cake - delicious! It was a perfect day to sit outside and enjoy the spring warmth.

Amazing little cafe! Food is fresh and ample. The vegetarian burger was delicious, staff are friendly and lovely views of the lake too. All the staff were very attentive but Karen and Steph were both amazing! Thumbs up all round. This will definitely be our go to cafe.

I visited the cafe today, hoping to find some solace on a challenging day while holding my baby. My sole desire was to sit outside and enjoy the fresh air, especially since I was struggling with anxiety and wanted to share a peaceful moment with my little one. Unfortunately, the Waiter didn't allow me to sit outside, which left me deeply upset. This was my favorite cafe in Hume, and the experience left me even more disheartened and disappointed, adding to my feelings of depression and distress

Family get together for breakfast before driving north. Suggest book for groups, we were 7 people and really appreciated them making space. Food, coffee, juice and ordering and service was all great. Eggs of several varieties off the menu were all spot on, Big vego lived up to its name, struggled to finish it off.

We had a breakfast there it was very good.. Service and tmosphere was wonderful 💯😊 Very relaxing and enjoyable. You can go for a walk before or after your meal to enjoy nature views & lake.

My friend and I watched all the staff laugh and make fun of this woman who fished out of the lake a dead bird that was making that area smell. We don’t understand why that was something to laugh at. Goes to show what kind of people work there

We went here for breakfast this morning. The staff were lovely. Best coffee we have had for ages - extra hot- as requested . The granola was lovely and my husband couldn’t stop raving about the big breakfast. We will definitely be going back .

We visited this Cafe for the first time. We chose this place as a nice one to enjoy a Saturday morning breakfast. The food was good but the customer service wasn't. They came to us 3 times to collect our dishes when we were still eating. I told them each time that we are not finished and waiting for some extra orders but they came back to us one by one for the same reason, And the 4th staff collected our unfinished dishes without asking. We're never going back there again.

After a walk around this beautiful waterside cafe our group had coffee and breakfast. I ordered the eggs, bacon on toast. Was cooked to perfection. Very generous portion too.

Friendly fast service, order at counter. Would have been nice to have a couple of vegetarian options on the lunch menu as one of our party ended up just eating a garden salad as nothing suited. Lunch was ordered and then specials were added to the board later 🤣

I went to Waterside Cafe a few weeks ago. Once my puppy and I finished our walk, we went to the cafe, a gentleman (owner I believe) saw me standing by the cafe door, he came out, asked if I wanted a seat, took my order by the door as I couldn't go in, wonderful coffee and food. This morning, I did the same, this time the waitresses said 'you need to come inside to order', I said I was alone holding onto my puppy, she look at, turned around and walked back inside the cafe. Very disappointing.

Good staff but no option for veggies. I am disappointed & upset. People like me who don’t eat meat would love an options for veggies. I would highly recommend them get more option for vegetarian/vegan.

Lovely cafe, great service and food. The staff are friendly. Would love longer trading hours as this place closes at 3.30 everyday. It would be nice to go out for coffee in the evening as the atmosphere is very nice, if only they were open late.

We’ve eaten here a few times and always enjoyed it but this morning the wait staff hovered around to clear the tables. I had literally just put my knife and fork down and was still chewing and an older lady was already at the table taking the plate away. It made the whole experience feel like we were rushed to get out and very annoying. Good customer service is critical for the wait staff in the café industry for several reasons: Wait staff are the face of the café and are responsible for providing excellent customer service to ensure customer satisfaction. Customers who are happy with the service they receive are more likely to return to the café and recommend it to others.

I have been a regular at waterside cafe for over 2 years now. Everything I’ve tried on the menu for lunch and breakfast has been made perfectly my daughter loves the pancakes meal. The soup is my fav in winter or what is on the specials for the week is always made so well. The owner is always kind and accommodating to all customers fairly. The staff are very friendly and their coffee is great.

Decide to drop by here from the airport with 11 of us. Staff were extremely helpful to accompanied that with a smile without a booking, the counter lady was very patient with us, despite been a bit busy during lunch trade. Thank you for looking after us even though our kids were making a mess. Highly recommended for a family friendly outing with a bonus of a water view and perfect place for kids to run around to burn off energy after. Hats off to the team at Waterside Cafe. We will be back!

Not a Hugh selection of food, but what they do have is well priced and tasty Friendly staff and good service. Reasonable amount of seating available. I noticed with where 2 tables were positioned, customers and staff had to squeeze past a Hugh steel column in the cafe

First time eating at highlands waterside cafe. I will definitely be back reasonably priced. I got the old school buger and chips. I would recommend this meal if you are into burgers very delicious very satisfied
