€196 to get three documents certified as copies and one signature as a witness. Nice staff but absolutely ridiculous for less than 10min of their time which is generally a free service from a JP in Australia. Great value at AU$1800/hr...

Very disappointing. Phoned for information for Australians trying to return home. Staff member appeared more interested in expressing that we should have left sooner (if that were an option, we would have done so). I was referred to the airline who the staff member claimed has full discretion. The airline is dependent on caps and retrictions set by local authorities. Beyond this, I was referred to other gov websites for further generic information. A simple, 'unfortunately, this is all the information we have' would have sufficed over attempts to place responsibility on others

I had a shocking, crazy experience with an Aussie staffmember here that nags me years later. Leadership must have been terrible to absent. Needing help from my nations' embassy as a teen, I had the worst representative interaction experience of my life here from a verbally blunt, agressiveley demeanored, bad blooded individual... "no, I dont have to do anything for you actually, and I really don't want to. And if you're going to complain, I suggest you go to the embassy in the UK or Germany". An insane, off the charts attitude while "helping" to a kid half her age. Having since visited embassies in many other nations, I can say this public facing office of our government is the very worst I have ever experienced. I will not ever be bringing my family here, full stop. I will indeed go to another country's embassy.

Just a heads up, they are very particular about passport photos. I was sent trekking down the road to Max Coot because the lady behind the counter rejected the photos I'd brought due to some minute "black line across the eye" that I could not see. Save yourself the trouble and just go to Max Coot, the Embassy staff seemed adamant that there are only two photographers in den Haag who can do Aussie passport photos properly. Maybe they should publish the names and addresses of those photographers on the Embassy website?

I went to drop my ballot off at the embassy. The AEC sent it to me via DHL on time, which is nice. At the embassy the seccy collected my ballot. I think my australian accent is too heavy and he couldn't understand what I was saying. There are like 3 signs before you enter you should press the door bell on the top left corner of the door. The place feels like a 90s office. I could say that customer service and experience could improve a bit more. Tax payers' money not so well spent.

Seconding the review below about passport photos - as of 2023 there is only one location in The Hague that can take Australian passport photos properly. Apparently there was a white dot imperceptible to the normal person’s eye on the photo but the Embassy staff could see it. Maybe they get a commission for referring us to a specific passport photo place 💰 They can definitely make the instructions more clear on the Embassy website on this point rather than waste everyone’s time.

Very friendly staff who helped me very well with clear and good information for travelling to Australia what I'm going to do next year. I want to thank the employee, with who I had a phone call, for the kindness, time and the clear information about the tourism visa, declearing my medication and more! See you next year in Adelaide!

No help for international students! Phoned the embassy to ask if they could help me (a Dutch citizen) out with the errors on my Australian academic transcript. This because the error cause problems with my student loan (DUO) and visa. I phoned the embassy as the university themselves have admitted the issue but fail to correct the matter. The lady was very polite and patient but described the issue as a 'private' matter. When pointing out that the university I studied at is a government run organization the lady still referred me to my legal aid insurance so I could sue the University (as a private person I do not seek a costly legal battle with a large institution, rather a solution). To my experience this organization ain't the place to ask for assistance but rather a tightly run administrative desk for those 'deserving' of service.

I italked to a nice woman working there because my dad is not getting his pension from Australie anymore sinds august 2021. He has dementia and they can not help me. They only give advise to go to websites of the governemont in Australie. I am going to call in the night because it is 10 later in Australie.

Second best steak house I've been to all year. The bar staff got me mrs drink wrong so dats why the 4 stars.

Helpful and humane service starting from a friendly reception, to the consular support coordinator to the diplomats that do the (quite boring) document witnessing and certification process with a smile.
