Back gate is good if you have own transportation as can park close to location. It’s very close to antique ruins and not very far from thermal pools. Make sure you wear boots as many places requires longer walks, sharp elevations and had minimal road formations or huge stones paving. It’s much huger location than Ephesus or many others

A much better entrance to see the pools and ancient sites. It has a car park at the top, o paid 10 L for parking. As the entrance is at the top of the pools, it gives a great view. The pools at the top are much warmer than the pools below (in my experience in November). I paid 110 L for an entrance fee to the thermal pools and ancient sites. Cleopatra's pool is a other 100L per person entrance fee.

100% South Gate is the way to go and here’s why: 1- Mostly all the tour buses drop off at the north gate so if you start early you’ll have quite a bit of time before the crowds get to you. 2- Almost all the main attractions are on the south end of the park (The travertine pools, the museum, the antique pool, and the theater). The necropolis is the only main attraction that is closer to the north and not by much. 3- There is much more of an uphill walk from the north gate until you reach the plateau that the main city was built on. If you want much more of a work out than the north gate is for you. Pro tips: 1-The audio tour is nice but essentially just tells you exactly what is on the informational boards around the park. The boards are only in English and Turkish but are concise, interesting, and easy to digest. 2- GET THERE EARLY!!! This is the number one attraction in Türkiye and is a mad house almost year around. Also, while the hot air balloon’s aren’t bad and kind of add to the scenery, the mini chopper tours are obnoxious and seem to start around noon. 3- If you do partake in swimming in the antique polls, which I highly recommend, ask for a free memorabilia ticket when you leave. They are beautiful and a nice keepsake for the memory box.

I could give 5 stars but there is to many people, it's over exploited to be part of the UNESCO. If you walk around you find nice spots. The views are amazing and the thermal pools are super nice to refresh a bit and make nice photos. The big issue is the average of people in the most touristic part. If you wanna swim in Cleopatra pool you have to pay 10€ per person and I don't think that it's worth it (you can see the pool without paying). It's better to walk and see the ruins of Hierapolis and the theatre and the last, swim in the thermal pools.

We used Pamukkale South Gate as we were travelling by our own transportation. It was easy and convenient. If you use that gate, you have to pass under the historic gate which will remind you about the glory of the ancient city. We could take few amazing photos of adjacent palm trees.

Must visit this place of you're in Antalya, it is 2-3hrs hours drive from City centre. Roads are good and have plenty of places to have food and break in between. You need almost a day for this, try to start early so you will have enough time to visit all 12 attractions starting from South gate. You can start from the South gate and end at an open theater, during the sunset view from the theater looks great and you can see whole place from there. Turkey museum pass work here and would be my preferred choice if you are visiting the whole of turkey. You can take a taxi or rent a car, I found renting a car convenient and way cheaper option. Golf carts are available to rent just after entry.

One of the most amazing places I’ve ever visited! Not only is it a beautiful view, but an experience too, being thrown back into the past by walking in the ruins of the present. The waters are just as beautiful, and it’s all so awe inspiring, I honestly wish to be back right now!

One of the most beautiful places I ever seen. Combine great fotos with swimming in warm ancient Arthemida pools and this will be a perfect trip. Ticket to complex costs 130 LYR per person and the same price additional for pool but it costs it.

If you visit Pamukkale without doing your travel homework, seeing the real face of Pamukkale today will make your feeling like a roller coaster ride! Pamukkale is actually formed by the cooling, precipitation, and calcification of hot spring water rich in limestone calcium flowing out of the ground. After thousands of years of spring water flowing along the hillside, a milky white terraced basin is naturally formed. The ancient Romans built a city upstream of the hot springs and used the spring water for hydrotherapy. Smart modern people had opened up tourism and builted homes at the downstream of the hot springs.Local government in order to prevent Pamukkale from continuing to expand, they artificially cut off, intercept, pollute, and destroy the beautiful products of nature! So disappointed to see all these happened, I really want to know what Pamukkale will look like in N years, will it still exist?

For all those who are going with high expectations, calm down. There are only a few pools filled with water and during winter the water is fairly cold. Walking around the pool could be quite slippery and painful. You have to take an entry to the Heirapolis and then you get to the Traventines. We chose the South gate as it has easy access and parking and it's included in the museum pass so we got a free entry. Nonetheless, it's definitely worth giving it a visit and taking photos for memories as the view and experience is beautiful.

Something that I have never been there before I don't recommend visiting it on summer The best time for it is spring and fall Most of the visitors are from Russia so it might be not suitable for Muslims families

Please also visit the antique pool and swim in the warm water. This is even better than Pamukkale and just 100 meters away from the Traverten.

I entered Pamukkale from the south gate. Compared to lower gate, the south gate is more closed to the Pamukkale walk area. Meanwhile if you enter from the south gate you can enjoy the Hierpolis ancient city firstly including ancient theater, museum etc. then walk to the famous walking area. I went there in national holiday and otopark is a little bit crowed in 11AM, I waited for around 30min to get an available parking place, 20TL for small car parking. Right next to otopark entrance local people seems run private otopark, if too crowded it can be an option.

I had a great experience in this place. It was breathtaking for me, the cal, the color of the water and the pools make a great combination, you walk barefoot all the way up and you’ll feel connect with the Pachamama. I loved it

If you come by car, I suggest driving up to South Gate. From there it’s an easy walk to the Terraces and Heraklion. One can spent hours wandering around. Best time of day is late afternoon when sun sets.

This gate can be useful if you have your own vehicle. Parking can then be done very close to the main relics. One must wear comfortable walking shoes as one needs to walk through a lot of stoned path on a high elevation to see around. The place offers some breathtaking views of the valley and has some great history backing itself.

The place is nice to visit but please don't go if you just want a picture of the thermal pools. It's not worth it. The other parts of the site have great history. It would be best to rent a car and drive there on your own, the tour groups are tourists traps.

there is a common entrance for pamukkale thermal springs and hierapolis. We paid 700 lira. There is no separate ticket for entering pamukkale blue pools, but you need to pay 200 lira for Antique pool , it has its own ticket counter inside the complex. Take your own towel. There are plenty of option to eat inside , WC are either just outside the main entrance or about 10 min walk inside the complex. Apart from fries nothing for vegetarians.

Pamukkale is a little on the hotter side of Turkey. So choose your dress accordingly. some of the hot springs have turned yellow as the water flow was restricted by the administration. they have tried to restore it but not quiet upto the old level. Lot of international tourists. very safe and friendly people. Don't forget to negotiate your price, for literally everything except food. I had a great time with my family. There are electric buggies available for those who doesn't want to get burnt in the hot sun. Small cafes and restrooms are available almost everywhere so don't have to carry food of water throughout.

Beautiful place not to busy on the day we went. We spent the whole day there. Enjoyed Cleopatra's pools the most.

We entered through the south gate. The staff at the south gate in this photo Mr. Oner was so helpful and really helped us. This is a most iconic historic landmark and it was too beautiful beyond words. It is a must visit but if the day is too cold and windy it gets difficult to walk and enjoy it. Pls check the weather is sunny and it not raining on the day you come to visit this site. Thank you to the authorities in Turkey making this side so tourist friendly and welcoming.

A large area with the famous white water terraces of Pamukkale, however I did not know that it housed many Roman ruins including a large theatre. The place was much to large to explore for the half a day we had there. Nice.
