A must visit while u in Azmir. This historical lift is simply beautiful. Probably among the highly recommended spots to be visited. By the way, "Asansor" means "lift" in Turkish.. Pictures are self explanatory I guess?

It's more of a functional elevator than a tourist attraction. There is a restaurant and Cafe upstairs (on the top). On the bottom floor there are 3 restaurants that are more like out door bars, a cafe and a couple of shops. Go if you're in the area. Not worth traveling far to see

It’s ok to go if you’ve finished all the other touristy things. I wouldn’t go out of your way.

Since many years build by a Jewish Philanthropist to save peoples energy, walking the steps up on top of the hill. There is an amazing view over the city and a nice touristic Cafe. There are lots of habitants using the elevator to get on the hill where they live a humble life. A nice mixed cosmopolitan culture up there. I asked myself if anybody don't uses the elevator because of hate. "I don't like Jews. I will walk all the steps up." 😋

It is nothing that you necessary must see, if you are in Izmir just for a short time. Anyway, if you are here for long time or if you are looking for a cafe with nice view, it is a good choice. The elevator is not so far from a tram stop, just one station far from Konak - the center of a city with a ferry boat stop. The elevator is for free. There is nice view and quite good cafe restaurant on the top.

The Historic Elevator makes it easy to see all of Izmir in a gorgeous sunset. Gaze out over the incredible water views and the stunning, sprawling city itself. This should be your first stop when visiting Izmir!

I liked it, very convenient way to go down or up the area when you have luggage. It is clean, music is nice, but surrounded with some expensive eateries all around. You walk through heavy smoke at times. It is free to use.

Elevator from where you can see much of İzmir city. At the top of the elevator, there are two restaurants where you can eat or drink. When you get to the elevator wait 5 minutes of line and we go up quickly. The views are wonderful and you can get an idea of how big this city is.

It's cool, but it's just a really old elevator, so don't go out of your way to see it! Great views of the city from the top.

It's free. It's just an elevator to take you to the top, rather than taking those sometimes steep stairs up. Locals use it, too. Great views from the top of the Gulf of Izmir.

The elevator was built to give relief to women and kids and elderly to avoid climbing the steep slope. There are 2 elevators and they work 24/7 and offers a free service. There are lovely eating joints at the top and ground level. During peak hours there might be a way of 10to15 mins. The lift can take a max of 10 people.

One of the historical places of İzmir,Asansör tower has been built in the year 1907 by a jewish philantropist,Nesim Levi Bayraklıoğlu to render the difficulty for the elders, children and pregnant woman to climb the stairs due to the altitude difference between Mithatpaşa street and Halil Rıfat Quarter. When you come here, you should watch magnificent view. And free entrance to the elevator 🌈😽🤌🏻🫠☺️🌺. ( Loved the whole area’s atmosphere 👌🌱😽🌈🌻🌼!!!!)

So, as a thing to see this is worth it. The ride is free, takes only about 20 seconds, and they are very COVID aware. The view from the top is worth it, although you may have to wait your turn as it is very popular with instagramers taking pics. There is a cafe and a restaurant at the top as well. Use the public transport to get here as there is very limited parking. History/information boards are in Turkish and English. At the base of the elevator are a few cafes and pubs - it looks like it could be a kicking place at night.

It is stunning to see the whole view of Izmir's city and coast line. I believe this tower is the best choice to visit when you have the chance to be here. You can order a cup of drink and chat with friends during enjoying this nature beauty. There are two ways to go up the tower. One is walk through colorful stairs and other way is to take the elevator. I hope you have great experience on the tower.

(Translated by Google) There are a lot of lines in front of it, it is a very nice place except for this problem. The view of Izmir when you go up is really magnificent. There is a street and apartments on the top, I recommend you to visit that street. It is a peaceful and must-see place. You have to know the trye story of the Asansör...... First of all it was great place that I visited. Its free to enter.going to the top to see the amazing view along the sea, take nice photo, also you can eat there and drink tea or juce, but unfortunatly the coffe and turkish coffe machine was out of order and it has problem, but even so you will be happy to go there and know the true story by yourself............................................ İ went there after climbing many stairs, and it was so hot and sunny that's why I felt exhausted. But you can choose a different easier approach. When I went up, the view was amazing. I wanted to drink something in the cafe up there but it was full and so crowded, felt a little bit sad. But I took many good pictures

I liked this hidden city landmark. The view from the top is breathtaking. I was at night there. There is also a nice and cozy restaurant. I met its owner named Barış there, who offered me a nice Turkish tea and carrot cake. One can use the elevator to go up or climb up the stairs. Best, Dauren

If you bring a car to the place, be prepared to be on the lookout for a parking space. The street is very narrow and car parks on both sides. Once you get there, the view is amazing. The food is okay. The hot chocolate is delicious. All the prices are reasonable. I recommend the place.

This is one of the best places in Izmir to see a wonderful of Izmir's waterfront. It is an old lift used to transport the residents to go up with their belongings. Built by a wealthy Jewish businessman out of goodwill to help the people on that area. Now its a historical place with a restaurant on top. Its a must visit.

Everybody goes there for scenery but the best thing about this place is that it is always windy even in summer! Best place to hang out in a deadly hot aegean evening to spend a lovely time with friends. Yet the price range is high for the mediocre foods they served. E

This place is my dream place. It is built on mountain once side & breathtaking sea coast the other side like you can view sea coat & enjoy sea breeze from window of your home as well. Since turkey is the safest place specially for the female I stayed there for three days. I discovered city all say then after ling days i used sit & enjoy a walk on sea cost. As i am nature loving person & was feeling like my soul was craving for this place since decades.

It’s really a nice point with great view of the city but simultaneously something overestimated. You can try it if you have more than two days in Izmir but the sunset is also beautiful from every point in the harbour. It’s also nice as history how it was made. Once again other nationalities made sightseeing for Turkish towns.

(Translated by Google) The view is very good, the restaurant prices are a bit expensive (tea 4.5 TL) and the number of tables is small. When the weather was hot, we sat at the tables outside and it was very hot. When you go during the day, it would be a rational choice to choose the windowsill. When you go in the evening, colored lights are turned on outside the elevator building. Beautiful pictures can be taken.

(Translated by Google) Historically, it doesn't have much of a feature. While inside the elevator, it can be called the historic elevator as nostalgic pieces and pictures on the walls. It was good to have free and security. The sea view is worth seeing when you go up. The cafes sitting upstairs are even exited to have tea and coffee against the current view.

(Translated by Google) A very interesting place, this elevator was built in 1907 to unite two parts of the city, one near the sea and the other located at an altitude of about 60 meters above sea level. The very construction of this place is very unusual, the whole area is located on the side of a mountain. If you do not use the elevator, then you need to climb 155 steps. And of course there is a stunning view of Izmir and the Aegean Sea. You should definitely walk along the streets of this area, the buildings on the slope are amazing and delightful 👍 (Original)

It is nice as the outside of the elevator, but its surroundings are heavily smelling of animal excrement as it has not been cleaned by the municipalities. Very beautiful place. It is one of the best points to look at the city. Also the down street at the elevator and cafes there seem nice to take a seat and have a tea or coffee.

free tourist spot that must visit in izmir. this historical elevator has been operating for over 100 years since 1907, locals said it is the first ever elevator built in Izmir as well as in the whole Turkey. fun fact: the elevator was first run by hydro power, with super slow pace. people still wait for it despite its slow speed because it is the only way to go up the mountain without walking the slopes or hundreds of steps. at the bottom of the elevator, there’s a lot of artistic cafe and restaurant, there’s another cafe up the elevator with a classic elegant magestic style too, where you can enjoy a traditional turkish tea with the magnificent Izmir golf view.

One of the most vibrant and interesting experiences one can have in the entire Mediterranean. Walk around İzmir with your friend, and get up to the Asansor, and have a nice dessert with some Turkish coffee while watching sunset. You’ll never want to leave İzmir.

A beautiful place worth visiting to see the Gulf of Izmir and take beautiful pictures and there is more than one restaurant and café. I recommend visiting the place at sunset

It's a must, honestly the view is so beautiful. You can see the whole city. The ride is ok, I mean it is an elevator. However, the complete experience is amazing.

Liked it, very comfortable and useful elevator. If you have a all-day walk and wish to skip 234 steps on the stairs on the way home or to a cafe uptown, you should definitely try this elevator! That is a superbly preserved historical building at the end of the restaurant street with a great architecture and atmosphere. Even if you visit this sight on a weekday evening, you won’t have to wait more than 5 minutes. Each cabin accommodates 10 persons and yet no one feels sandwiched between others. Doors open and close automatically, there is a nice music inside, some historical facts and accompanying photos. The entrance is free.

6 min drive from konak port. Two developed elevators lift you up to historical tower. Nice Cafe at top . Stunning view. One star dropped as toilets were not being looked after very well, and no English speakers.

Nice place where you can have a look at the Izmir coast full of buildings. There are nice bars where you can drink a typical Turkish tea either at the top or at the bottom of the lift. The lift is free to use and there were a small queue (15 people) to go up and down. The maximum quantity of people in the lift are 10 people so we just waited 5 minutes for going up. The top is at 40m and the trip took around 45 seconds

This is something unexpected that you don't see everyday. You can take this nice lift for free (inside there is a sign with his story) and it will bring you upward where you can enjoy a fantastic view of Izmir. As below as on top of the lift is full of nice cafe and restaurants. This is truly a gem.

Historical building in Izmir city center, no ticket needed to get in to the top of building and see the city of Izmir from the top. You have to visit and enjoy the Izmir from here.

Incredible historic elevator built by a very kind local resident back in the day to save people from having to climb over 155 steps to to reach their homes on the top of the hill. Today it a offers an amazing view of the bay and is surrounded by several lovely local cafés and restaurants around it. There is no fee for the elevator, but a fee to park off it arrive by car.

The Elevator has bit of history, not a must visit place. The guide would say that the place is privately owned by coffee shop and you have to buy coffee to stay but the place is open and no compulsion to buy coffee.

Really loved the street and the bars in front of the elevator. You should definitely take the elevator up during sunset time as it offers a beautiful view of Smyrni/Izmir.

Building and view was very nice! Just the service in the café could be improved, they asked several times what we ordered again and forgot about our snack(however they didnot charge us for the snake). But all in all nice place!

👍 One of the most important touristic sites of izmir. There's no need to buy a ticket as this monument is part of an urban space. The plaza is so lively even at midnight. Also, there are various restaurants, cafes and pubs. Also, the ancient bazar is close by.
