Mansa Devi Temple is a famous place among devotees. Visitors can ask for their wish fulfillment. The place is conveniently reachable from Haridwar Main Market. You can walk to the place easily.

The pestering of the Pooja shop agents, and the abysmal crowd management, in spite of there being several so-called security staff, is the only thing I'm going to take away from this visit. Fortunately I've visited this temple several times earlier, and have good memories, but now it is better for aged people, small children etc to avoid visiting this temple. The access path is very narrow, there is no proper ventilation and absolutely no crowd control whatsoever. Just when you think that the hounding by the pooja stalls is over there is another set of pooja shops just outside the temple doors, to further add to tour woes. In both the temples, this one & in Chamundi Devi, the exit path compulsorily takes you through the cafeteria, inviting you to try items whose prices are vastly inflated. A sad experience in a temple that has a lot of devotee presence even on weekdays.

Temple is located on a mountain. It could be a good hike for those seeking a decent challenge or could be a nice gondola 🚠 ride for those seeking thrill. Overall the temple is really good and you can expect plenty of crowd. There are stairs after the gondola ride that needs to be climbed. Restrooms are available and food too. The temple offers a good panoramic view of Haridwar and is known for goddess Manasa Devi.

The experience I had at Mansa Devi Temple was incredibly profound and will forever be ingrained in my memory. It served as a powerful reminder of the intricate link between the tangible and the intangible, and the immense power of unwavering faith to overcome obstacles and connect different realms. Nestled in the heart of Uttarakhand, this holy site left an everlasting impression on my very being, leaving me filled with deep respect and a revitalized sense of direction.

People will try to scam you in buying things you don't need/want. Be aware! The walk from the bottom is around 25-30 minutes if your'e in decent shape. There's steps with railings for support and multiple benches along the trail to rest.

Maa Mansa Devi Mandir, Many of you (readers) who are reading this review might be going to visit this temple of planing to visit. So here I have some tips for those who are new to visit. Scams/lie If you are going by walking you would see many people selling items and asking you to keep your bags at their place, because bags are not allowed in the temple. A clear indicator of scam or lie might be they want to sell their Prashad to you or they are scammers. Ignore them, there are no indication from temple management that you can't carry your bag. People might show interest in you and might show a frank behaviour just ignore and if you want any direction to the temple ask google (map) or sone rickshaw wala, they will show you the path. Animal(specially monkey) -ignore wearing glasses or they will contact you personally. -no food should be present infront of them or they will take that from you. -any of the thing they are capable of grabbing from you ignore doing or having infront of them. Shoes Many of the Prashad sellers will ask you to keep your shoes at there shop because shoes are not allowed near Mandir premises ignore them and keep going, a shoe keeping department is also available there (but they don't provide coupons, it's all dependent on trust) That's it guys, keep them in your mind and you would not get scammed or something else.

Mansa Devi Temple, Haridwar: Mansa Devi Temple, Haridwar  is a Hindu temple dedicated to goddess Mansa Devi in the holy city of Haridwar in the Uttarakhand state of India. The temple is located atop the Bilwa Parvat on the Sivalik Hills, the southernmost mountain chain of the Himalayas. The temple, also known as Bilwa Tirth is one of the Panch Tirth (Five Pilgrimages) within Haridwar. The temple is known for being the holy abode of Mansa Devi, a form of Shakti and is said to have emerged from the mind of the Lord Shiva. Mansa is regarded as the sister of the Nāga (serpent) Vasuki. She is also believed to be the daughter of Lord Shiva in his human incarnate. The term Mansa means wish and it is believed that the goddess fulfils all the wishes of a sincere devotee. There is a folk tale about this, once Mansa, a common girl who was unaware about her complete truth from her guardians decided to meet Lord Shiva and ask him about her truth. To meet Lord Shiva, she sat for Sadhana and after years of spiritual exercise, she got the fortune to meet Lord Shiva and clarify her truth from him. After learning her truth, she attained the powers of goddess of welfare for the world. Devotees who pray to Mansa Devi for fulfilling their wishes tie threads to the branches of a tree located in the temple. Once their wishes are fulfilled, people come back again to the temple to untie the thread from the tree. Goddess Mansa is also offered coconuts, fruits, garlands and incense sticks for prayer. Mansa Devi Temple is a Siddh Peeth (These are known to fulfill the desires of the worshippers). It is one of three such Peeths located in Haridwar, the other two being Chandi Devi Temple and Maya Devi Temple. The inner shrine has two deities, one with eight arms and the other one with three heads and five arms. The Temple: Mansa Devi Temple is considered as a must visit for the pilgrims going to Haridwar. It enhances the holy tradition of Haridwar which persists in the place from many past centuries. It offers views of the River Ganges and the plains of Haridwar. To reach the shrine one has to either follow the trekking route up to this holy shrine or ride on rope-way service. The rope-way service known as "Mansa Devi Udankhatola" was introduced for the benefit of the pilgrims and it is also used for transporting pilgrims to the nearly located Chandi Devi Temple. The rope-way carries the pilgrims from the lower station directly to the Mansa Devi Temple. The total length of the rope-way is 540 metres (1,770 ft) and the height it covers is 178 metres (584 ft). On a normal day, the temple is open between 5 am and 9 pm, except for lunch closings of 12 pm to 2 pm. It is said that Devi Mansa and Chandi, the two forms of goddess Parvati always reside close to each other. This belief can also be found true in other case since near to the Mata Mansa Devi Mandir in Panchkula, Haryana, there is a Chandi Mandir located nearby in Chandigarh. The Mansa Devi Temple in Haridwar, Uttarakhand, is one of the most popular tourist attractions in and around the region, not only amongst devotees and pilgrims, but amongst tourists alike. It is heavily thronged during the festival of Navratri. The presiding deity in the temple is Mansa Devi, to whom the temple is dedicated. We visited Mansa Devi Mandir this August the place is very peaceful and beautiful but really crowded. We have used ropeway service to reach there. For ropeway service need to take ticket and it is valid for three days. Please carry medicine and water bottle if traveling in summer. Although the food and other essential things are available on way. Washrooms are limited. Good to go there with family. Should never miss a place like this.

Roads are well maintained. For adults or physically challenged people ropeway is available. If you're healthy then you can give a walk. I preferred to walk because it is good for my health. It takes about 1.5 hour to climb and half an hour to come down.

Not clean, very crowded and worst thing pandits forcefully ask for dakshina. They will take your prasad for chadhava and dont return you back till the time you give dakshina to pandit. Management of temples should look at these issues. I like the view of haridwar on the way to temple

It is a very famous Hindu Deity temple Mata Mansa at the peak top of Mount just above river Ganga in Haridwar. Thousands of devotees come to visit this temple.. on the way up hill there are small and little shops where one can quench their thirst and rest. There is also another way through trolley service. But the crowd is enormous. The temple is beautiful in its own and gives utter happiness to the visitors.

The Mansa Devi Temple in Haridwar is a special place on a hill called Bilwa Parvat. It's a very important place for people who want to pray and connect with their faith. When I visited, I noticed how much people believed in the power of this temple. The temple itself is very beautiful, with pretty designs on the walls. Inside, there's a statue of Goddess Mansa Devi, who is believed to grant people's wishes. What makes this temple even more interesting is how you can get to it. There's a cable car system, like a small cabin that takes you up to the temple. This is great because it helps people of all ages visit the temple, and it gives you an amazing view of Haridwar and the river Ganges. The place around the temple is kept clean and neat. They have stalls where you can buy religious things, sweets, and souvenirs. The people who work at the temple are very kind and helpful. Visiting the Mansa Devi Temple was a wonderful experience. It's a mix of faith and modern convenience. I think it's a must-visit if you're looking for blessings and peace in the spiritual atmosphere of Haridwar.

This temple is situated at a high peak mountain. There are two temple one is Mansa Devi and other is Chandi Devi temple. You can visit both the temple in 3 hours in off season. Since in off season there is less crowd. And its better if you visit the temple in offseason with kids since in season the crowd increases so much that you wont be able to walk on the way to temple.

It is a nice temple to visit which is situated at some height at the top of the hill. One can either use stairs or ropeway to reach the temple. Pilgrim needs to climb around 1000 staircases if it decides to go by foot. If someone doesn't have that much strength or is in a hurry ropeway service is useful and enjoyable too which helps you reach the temple within two minutes.

This is a lovely temple however the so called pandits have made this temple a business. They demand money at each step. Inside the temple multiple small temples are being made for money. Excellent temple but very bad administration. Wish someone looks into this matter and makes this temple great.

You have to visit here through air trolley which is a fun perhaps dangerous. Sometimes a techical problem arises in middle of the ride. The view is amazing. There is a long que for return ride and the temple is heavily crowded. The management is good outside the temple. There is no security control for the inner crowd. Improvements are needed

Good religious place. Must visit its very thrilling. Visit this place through the ropeway Rs.121/person. Can be visited through Scotty Rs.100/person. Bit ropeway is a good choice. Beware of puja shops they are ready to loot for puffed rice of Rs.5 they use to take Rs.50/puja. The main Mansa Devi puja money was taken with a money receipt. Others take the money and keep it in their pocket.

Mansa Devi temple is a very famous temple in Haridwar which can be reached by climbing the hilltop(where it is located) or by roadways or by rope ways(which is called udan khatola)..we went there by udan khatola which charged us 258 rupees for two adults up and down for Mansa Devi temple only..you can also opt for combo package of Chandi Devi and Mansa Devi. They accept UPI or cash(with exact amount only). It took us 10min to reach the hilltop temple. Keep minimum things with you. If you are a lady carrying a handbag, they will check your handbag separately. Fares for kids below the height of 110m is half and for babies it is free. They will click one picture of you with your accompany and will give one card with QR code, you can see that picture there. It is a sweet thing which I liked there. Max of 4 people can ride a single udan khatola. We also took prasadi for 50 rupees for Mansa Devi Mata(2packets) and 20 rupees for Hanuman ji(1 packet). Bargaining is common. Please do. We have also purchased a packet of flowers for 10 rupees. You have to stay in a queue for sometime and then, the first puja will be done towards your right side, the pandit ji will ask you to offer your first flower there because it is like your entry request at the temple. You can offer dakshina also there. Next, you will see Mansa Devi temple. Get inside, you can experience some tight crowd there. Be patient. Keep your dakshina handy. Pandit ji will offer you prasadi flower and seek blessings for the Goddess. Next you will see one havan kund, we didn't do anything there..you can try offering prayers there. Next, we tied our chunri rumal for mannat which was given in the prasadi packet of 50 rupees which I have mentioned previously. We went to hanuman mandir after that. Offered our prayers there. Then, we went to all the temples located in the premises like chandi Mata mandir(different one), pashupati nath mandir, vaishno Devi mandir, kaal bhairav mandir etc. If you are a married woman or you have any lady at your home who's married, please buy sindoor, churi, bindi etc for her. It is the blessing of Goddess and considered very auspicious. You can spend as much time as you want and return back by 5pm as the booking for udan khatola closes by 5pm in the evening. Have a happy and spiritual experience!

This temple is one of the main attraction in Haridwar. We had visited this temple between Navratri so there was crowd and we have choosen rope way to reach and it cost nearly 122 INR for one person but waiting time was nearly 1 - 1:30 hour in peak time. It was awesome experience by rope way , kids enjoyed it. There are other way also to reach temple like scooter drive and by this you do not need to wait in rope way ticket queue.

If you visit Haridwar must visit to mansa devi mandir. In Haridwar river Ganges emerges from the mountains and enters to the plain areas. Mansa devi mandir is located at top of of hills. You can reach there either by trekking about 3 km which is equal to 750 stairs or ropeway. The total length of the rope-way is aprox 540 meters and the height is about 178 meters.

I couldn't find any specific Ma Mansa idol. There is always a huge rush because the temple committee is hoarding the devotees and then realising the gate at once. There are nearly 20 idols of different Gods and Goddess and every priest is claiming their idol to be the actual Manasa idol. The security checking for Udan Khatola (ropeway) seems like the checking in an international airport. It is a total harassment to the passengers.

This is a sacred Shakti Pith, where the forehead of ma sati had fallen. People rush to this place to receive her blessings. The Mandir is on the top of the hill which can be climbed easily on foot or by ropeway. Inside mandir, is somehow congested and untidy. Idol of goddess Manasa is beautiful and mesmerizing. Wiew of river Ganges and haridwar town from hilltop is also very picturesque. We also enjoyed roadside stalls. We also helped sadhus, poor people on roadside with food and money. So many monkeys and their tiny kids amused us.

Mansa Devi Temple in Haridwar is a truly divine and serene place of worship. The temple's location atop the Bilwa Parvat hill provides breathtaking views of the Ganges and the city below. Devotees flock here to seek blessings from Goddess Mansa Devi, and the atmosphere is filled with spirituality. The cable car ride to the temple is an exciting experience but with a waiting time of an hour thirty minutes and a price ticket of 140rs per person(please refer to official website), Hiking up to Mansa Devi Temple in Haridwar is an enriching adventure in itself. The trek up the Bilwa Parvat hill offers a sense of accomplishment as it’s tough and an opportunity to immerse in the natural beauty of the surrounding forest. The path is well-marked, and the lush greenery along the way adds to the charm of monkeys roaming around and the temple complex is well-maintained but can be way better. It's a must-visit for anyone seeking a spiritual journey in Haridwar and get blessing from the goddess. Beware of touts and pickpocketing.

Mata Mansa devi temple is very powerful holy place of maa shakti and it is believed that Haridwar visit is incomplete if you do not visit this shrine. It’s situated in the the heart of the city and attracts a large crowd. One must be prepared to be in waiting line for 2 hrs for rope way up and 2hrs for down. For me it took total 6 hrs to start and finish. It was a very crowded day.

  • 5/5 Ivy R. 11 months ago on Google
It's an important temple for Hindus and locals have a lot of faith in it. People go here to tie a red thread as a wish and once the wish comes true they go back and open the thread. There are three ways to reach it, one by steps (800+) and the other one by the trolley ride for those who can't climb and the third via a Trek. I would recommend the Trek. Its an easy one plus offers excellent views of the plains below. Also visit at the earliest possible hour to avoid crowds. It can be a very busy place.

The Mansa Devi Temple is a beautiful and sacred Hindu pilgrimage site located on a hill in Haridwar, Uttarakhand. To reach the temple, visitors can take a trolley ride from the base of the hill. The trolley service is operated by the temple management and is the most convenient way to reach the top. The ticket price for the trolley is 130 rupees per person for a round trip (up and down). This is a reasonable price for the service provided, given the distance and elevation of the temple. However, during peak season or on weekends, the wait time for the trolley can be quite long. In the case of the reviewer, they had to wait for around one hour for their turn to ride the trolley. The trolley ride itself is an exciting experience, as it offers panoramic views of the city and the surrounding hills. The journey takes around 15-20 minutes, depending on the crowds and weather conditions. Upon reaching the top, visitors are greeted with the stunning sight of the temple and its surroundings. The temple is beautifully designed and decorated, with intricate carvings and paintings adorning the walls. The atmosphere at the temple is peaceful and reverent, with many devotees offering prayers and making offerings to the goddess. Visitors can join in the rituals or simply observe from a distance. The reviewer enjoyed their visit to the Mansa Devi Temple and appreciated the convenience of the trolley service. They also felt that the ticket price was fair for the service provided, despite the wait time. However, they caution that visitors should plan ahead and be prepared for potential crowds and delays during peak season.
