I brought my remote team here for an amazing team building event. We leverage all of the rooms for those who traveled from other states. The workspace was phenomenal and the service was incredible. It was safe, elevated and refreshing for us all. The breakfast…….well we could not stop talking about how good it was. The fire pit was cool in the evening and I heard the steaming shower was spectacular. I promise you will not be disappointed. I was so pleased that I’m having another private event there later this month.

10 minute walk to Ford Field. Rica and Cina are wonderful! They were so friendly and made our stay enjoyable. Breakfast in the am was delicious. The room was very clean! Would absolutely stay here again!

Wow!!! What an incredible experience at the Cochrane House. I'm not sure words can do it justice. The home is beautiful and welcoming. The second you arrive, you feel like you are family. The passion, love, and energy is evident from the second you pull up to this historic inn. Not only do you fall in love with the home but the amazing women running it. We had an awesome night planned to see Stapleton at Comerica Park--staying at the Cochrane House was the best part of the night. We loved being greeted by name and treated like we had known each other for years. The location is beyond perfect- a simple walk to the park. We even came back to other guests enjoying a bonfire in the backyard. The room was cozy and comforting. Waking up to an exceptional breakfast and cheerful greetings made my stay-- it was delicious-- best potatoes ever. We enjoyed our coffee on the balcony reflecting on our evening. I didn't want to leave. I can't wait to come back. These ladies are an inspiration to others who have big dreams by creating the perfect getaway made with love. Thank you for an unforgettable stay!

This place is absolutely amazing. From the minute you walk in the door, you are instantly transformed into a space of relaxation. It’s a whole vibe in there. The attention to detail, the artwork and food, all amazing. My husband and I stayed here after our wedding and it was the perfect spot to unwind and enjoy being newlyweds. A place we plan to visit again. In the heart of downtown and a block away from all the stadiums. Did I mention the food is amazing. I would highly encourage you to visit this place. We cannot wait to stay again.

Upon entering the Cochrane House the ambiance immediately hit me. It was such a warm, loving, and welcoming atmosphere! The peacefulness, the location, and the breakfast was amazing! The innkeepers Francina and Roderica did everything with excellence and provided the best hospitality. These sisters provide a home that has both a luxurious and cozy feel. I especially loved the cleanliness and felt very comfortable soaking in the free standing tub as well as the relaxing shower. I’m ready to book again soon to obtain more self care! Had an amazing stay at Cochrane House for a special night out in Detroit. Location was great, the room was clean, comfortable, and spacious, and the hosts were so welcoming! When we arrived, we were shown around and served a cheese board and wine. Breakfast the next morning was delicious. We will definitely be staying here again!

I am in love with The Cochrane House Luxury Historic Inn! I hosted a private birthday dinner and it was amazing! The decor is so beautiful and lavish, a must see! The service they provided was stellar and second to none. This will be my go to for future events and a definite getaway. Thank you both for making my milestone birthday so memorable.

We had a wonderful stay at The Cochrane House! We were in town for a Red Wings game and the location was perfect for its proximity to the arena. Rica and Cina were amazing hosts. They were so lovely and always made sure we had everything we needed. Added bonus was the delicious breakfast and cozy, spacious room! My husband and I have just concluded our four night stay at the luxurious Cochrane House. We have stayed all over the world at different B&B’s, and The Cochrane House exceeds them all! The owners Rica and Cina greet you with a warm smile and a glass of wine. They are always available for any question or concern you may have. The historical mansion is breathtaking both inside and out. The ambiance is like nothing we experienced before, appealing to all our senses. The rooms are expertly designed, clean and comfortable. The daily breakfast is plentiful and delicious. The sisters’ recommendations for dinner and drinks were spot on. We are writing this at the airport now and are already missing their hospitality! We will definitely be back!

I can’t say enough about the fantastic experience my husband and I had staying at the Cochrane House. From entering into the home until our departure our experience was welcoming, friendly, accommodating, and the home is just beautiful. There is an outdoor patio with several tables and a firepit that can be used during your stay. The rooms are beautifully decorated and equipped with all of the essentials but we really enjoyed the company of the guests and owners Rica and Cina who told us about so many things to do in the Detroit area. Was surprised by my partner with a weekend getaway to Detroit- he booked a few nights at the amazing historic mansion-turned-luxury B&B Cochrane House. Seriously lack the superlatives to describe how wonderful it was in every aspect. The house is gorgeous, the decor is fabulous, and even the fragrance is to die for (not floral, not masculine, not anything specific, but somehow perfect?). The scrumptious food- charcuterie upon arrival and made-to-order breakfast each morning (very generous portions) was fresh, delicious, locally sourced, and delivered right to our door. The room we stayed in (jazz fusion) was ridiculously comfortable, exquisitely decorated, and included every amenity one could want. Also- the bathroom! Like a mini-day spa right in the room. HUGE, beautiful, walk-in garden shower, with a soaking tub right in the shower (what??) and they have house-made bath salts for guests (of course they bring them right up to your room upon request). Location? Walking distance to everything and anything! Best of all, hosts (& owners) Rica and Cina are unparalleled in providing a first-rate experience for their guests. They are committed to ensuring not only comfort and a pleasurable stay, but truly go above and beyond to make Cochrane House a magnificent must-stay in Detroit. Will definitely be visiting them again, hopefully sooner than later.

You won’t be disappointed staying here! From the moment Rica and Cina welcomed us at the door to the moment the door closed behind us when we left we felt at home! The beautiful premises left nothing to be desired. The concierge service was spot on! Our private bathroom was glorious! Wait until you see the shower room! Our bedroom was quiet and comfortable and beautifully appointed! You’ll never want to leave! Breakfast the next morning was plentiful and delicious! The hospitality displayed by the owners is second to none! This B&B is within walking distance of Little Caesar’s Arena, Comerica Ballpark, and Ford Field(football). We’ll book here again and so should you!

Rica and Cina were the most amazing hosts! The house is amazing! The room was very clean! We loved the decor, and atmosphere! The food was beyond amazing!! You must try the potatoes!! We decided to have a staycation in Detroit, and booked the lounge suite. It was spacious, clean, cozy and comfortable. Rica and Cina were so incredibly sweet and accommodating. Their breakfast was elite. They offered so many options (including vegetarian), and everything tasted phenomenal- prepared themselves! I would love to stay here again.

The Cochrane House is a beautiful and cozy place to stay. The sisters that run this bed and breakfast are lovely hosts. Breakfast was made daily (with vegan and gluten free options) and delivered to my door. I enjoyed vegan sausage, a bagel with vegan butter and jam, vegan eggs, mixed berries, and coffee every morning. My room was equipped with a TV, mini-fridge, and Bluetooth speaker. My private bathroom was lovely, and the bed was comfortable. There is coffee and bottled water in the common area kitchen. The common area has couches, tables, board games, and more. Calming instrumental music plays in the common area, too. There is a coat hanger for my coat, which is nice, so I don't have to lug my winter coat to my room. Located near/in downtown Detroit, I could easily travel to a variety of wonderful restaurants. If I could, I would take the Cochrane House with me back home! I highly recommend this BnB over any hotel.

My husband and I stayed at the Cochrane House for a holiday getaway. From the moment Rica greeted us at the door to our last goodbye, we felt so welcomed and cared for. The house is truly luxurious and so homey and comforting. Rica and Cina were available and attentive while respecting the privacy of all of their guests. It’s clear that the James sisters have put care and passion into the development and maintenance of this establishment. They truly have thought of everything from the beautiful decor to the smallest details. Honestly, I was a bit sad to leave the inn to go out on the town that night! Ordering breakfast was beyond easy, and the food was amazing. We love to explore B&Bs, and have been to quite a few. This one definitely tops our list!

Upon entering the tranquil and calming space, we were greeted by the most welcoming and generous inn keepers. Throughout our stay they accommodated each of our wishes! Wine and a place for a fireside chat - check! Rose petals, charcuterie and champagne after some time on the town - triple check! Soothing soak in a spa style bath after a restful sleep and phenomenal breakfast in the most cozy and well appointed room downtown - absolutely!!!! Quite often when we travel we begin planning our next trip. I am planning our next visit to Cochrane House!!! If you are in search of rest, relaxation and rejuvenation, search no more!!!!

My wife surprised me for my birthday with a weekend stay at The Cochran House! As we pulled up, the owners, Francina and Roderica James (owners), were at the door waiting for us. We were greeted with their warm smiles and served charcuterie and sparkling cider in our beautiful room. The interior of this beautiful home is filled with black artwork and beauty throughout the establishment. Sunday morning, we could smell the aroma of our customized breakfast being prepared and then brought to our room. If you want to get away, please check them out. We will definitely be going back!

This is a five star experience. You are greeted with a soft warm aromatherapy when you walk in the door. I am big on amenities and cleanliness. Everything was spotless and fresh. The two sisters who own the place were extremely hospitable and man the breakfast was delicious too. I had my company retreat here. I will be back! It’s perfect for overnight sleepovers, hosting large family dinners, and a staycation.

Words could almost not describe the experience that I had while staying at The Cochrane House Luxury Historic Inn. Everything was first class, from the time that I walked in the door. The house was immaculate, the layout of the house was well thought out and must I mention the art…. thats being showcased? The art gives you a Motown vibe and it lets you know for certain that you are chilling not only in luxury, but in the Motor City. The 2 owners (sisters) took the time to give us a complete history of the Inn, which left our entire group motivated and proud to see young women embrace the spirit of what makes our city so GREAT! We will definitely be back.

Came to Detroit to attend a concert at Comerica park. Loved how close it was! This place is beautiful, well-decorated, and cozy…… the hosts are so thoughtful and sweet, making us feel at home. It was super clean and The food was amazing! My only complaint is that I could not stay another night. Guess I’ll have to come back another time!!

Rica and Cina are absolutely amazing. Their service is top notch. From the time they opened up the door and the awesome experience began. The house is beautiful, it is very clean and smells great, and the decor is fabulous. It looks likes a home on HGTV. They served us charcuterie and wine, took our bags to our room and provided us with a menu to order breakfast in the morning. The wine was chilled to a perfect temperature and the charcuterie was fresh and delicious. If you are ever in the Detroit area, I highly recommend that you stay at The Cochrane House. I will definitely be coming back and recommending the Cochrane House to all of my friends and family.

This is my second time back in 2 months. The first time was to celebrate birthdays with college girlfriends. Back now to celebrate my husband’s birthday. The hospitality is over the top. Rica and Cina make you feel like family and friends from the moment you arrive. This is our go to place for Detroit getaways.

This place is awesome. If you are going to a concert or a ballgame downtown it is RIGHT THERE. Smells great, good vibes, so comfy. I came in from the West Coast and time zone differences make you feel weird, but I slept SO GREAT. The sisters are so nice and the customized breakfast was fun to pick out and all delicious. I love that they use local products.
