Geeft veel info over Geert Groote. Enthousiaste vrijwilligers. Goede film.

Information about Geert Grote, where the building was built on the foundations of the first chapel of the Brothers of the Common Life, the crypt of which can still be visited. It is worth watching the introductory film in the main hall and visiting the crypt. Friendly staff who are happy to explain Geert's story.

Collection is very static. Very friendly treatment, but the whole thing does not really appeal to the imagination and is also somewhat incoherent. I think the concept needs to be updated. A breath of fresh air. Especially when considering today's teenagers and twenty-somethings.

It's a shame: what was certainly a well-made exhibition in an externally attractive museum building offered little for foreign guests!

Too minimal a museum for the price. It is interesting, but it all remains too much on the surface. If someone gets their own museum, you would expect to know all the ins and outs of that person, but unfortunately I found that a bit disappointing here. In the cinema room, the TV is too high and the chairs are too close, and my neck started to hurt. I didn't think the basement really fit in with the rest, even though it is interesting. The ladies who work there were extremely friendly, helpful and happy to talk!

Absolutely adorable & knowledgeable/ enthusiastic volunteers who guided us through this little museum. It is small indeed, but nonetheless interesting and the people working there are so friendly it feels like you’re visiting family. The exhibition downstairs on plagues through the years was very interesting. Honestly one of the most positive museum experiences I’ve ever had.

Complete information about Geert Grote and the Modern Devotion. I bought the book Modern Devotion. Beautiful.

Unfortunately a disappointment. A large part of the museum is a misplaced translation of Geert Groote's views to the present day. Groote would want everyone to be equal, and that is also what our time is struggling with (reference is made to LGBTI flags, the 'sky-high' salaries of bankers and so on). In short, the museum is unable to place Geert Groote in his historical context.

Very small museum with an historic basement (not related to Geert Groote) and a flim a library give a good explanation of who Geert Groote was.

(Translated by Google) We thought it would be interesting to see it following the broadcast about Deventer in Het Verhaal van Nederland. The entrance is quite pricey (7.50 for adults and 3.50 for children) and all you get to see for that is a 15 minute film that is difficult to understand (it was always talked through by the volunteers who at the door were receiving visitors), the skull of Geert Groote and a number of information columns. VR was not available. In addition, there was a kind of library where you could read books, but little interesting for children. All in all, not much news if you've seen Het Verhaal van Nederland and it's a shame about the high price.

(Translated by Google) Deventer is a Hanseatic city that is more than worth a visit. What should not be missed is a visit to the Geert Groote Huis. A real experience!
