Not
much
choice
in
Deventer,
which
may
allow
Fletcher
to
be
outdated
a
bit
This
was
my
second
stay
at
Fletcher
Hotel
Gilde.
The
first
time
I
booked
for
one
person
and
ended
up
in
some
sort
of
depressing
broom-closet
with
a
super
tiny
bed.
This
time,
despite
travelling
alone,
I
booked
for
two.
I
got
a
much
bigger
room
with
a
fabulous
balcony
terrace,
located
at
the
back
of
the
hotel,
with
a
nice
view
on
the
courtyard.
Unfortunately,
that
was
about
the
most
positive
thing
about
the
room...
The
breakfast
buffet
is
standard
and
good.
On
request,
they
have
decaf
coffee.
Staff
is
friendly,
but
sometimes
they
came
across
as
a
bit
confused.
The
location
is
nice,
with
an
±8
minute
walkway
to
Deventer's
train
station.
Both
times,
I
found
the
rooms
outdated.
This
time,
my
room
had
a
two
twin-bed
configuration
with
mattresses
that
were
way
too
soft
and
noticeably
old
(tilting
to
one
side
after
many
years
of
sleeping
on
them).
I
woke
up
several
times
during
the
night,
having
fallen
into
the
crack
of
the
beds.
There's
carpet
flooring,
which
I
personally
find
less
hygienic,
especially
if
the
carpet
is
visibly
old.
The
bathroom
fittings
were
old
too.
Also,
the
bathroom
didn't
feel
super
clean,
I
even
found
some
hair
stuck
to
tiles.
There's
only
a
few
hotels
in
the
center
of
Deventer
and
that
may
explain
why
Fletcher
doesn't
renovate/update
the
rooms
in
a
timely
fashion.
I
know
from
my
experience
that
Fletcher
is
not
unique
but
I
wish
travellers
some
more
competition
in
Deventer...
