We stayed for one night. The room was clean. The staff was very friendly and helpful. In the morning we had to leave early and they had a breakfast bag for us. There is no free parking nearby, but you can park across the river for free and take the ferry. If you stay for a short time the nearby parking houses are ok too (~8€/day)

Not much choice in Deventer, which may allow Fletcher to be outdated a bit This was my second stay at Fletcher Hotel Gilde. The first time I booked for one person and ended up in some sort of depressing broom-closet with a super tiny bed. This time, despite travelling alone, I booked for two. I got a much bigger room with a fabulous balcony terrace, located at the back of the hotel, with a nice view on the courtyard. Unfortunately, that was about the most positive thing about the room... The breakfast buffet is standard and good. On request, they have decaf coffee. Staff is friendly, but sometimes they came across as a bit confused. The location is nice, with an ±8 minute walkway to Deventer's train station. Both times, I found the rooms outdated. This time, my room had a two twin-bed configuration with mattresses that were way too soft and noticeably old (tilting to one side after many years of sleeping on them). I woke up several times during the night, having fallen into the crack of the beds. There's carpet flooring, which I personally find less hygienic, especially if the carpet is visibly old. The bathroom fittings were old too. Also, the bathroom didn't feel super clean, I even found some hair stuck to tiles. There's only a few hotels in the center of Deventer and that may explain why Fletcher doesn't renovate/update the rooms in a timely fashion. I know from my experience that Fletcher is not unique but I wish travellers some more competition in Deventer...

Really beautiful old hotel. The room was standard, but for a good price. Ideal location in centre of Deventer. Service and breakfast was fine.

Very friendly staff, right on the edge of the city centre. Stylish old building, clean too, decent breakfast. But way too soft matresses and no tea/coffee in the rooms.

I couldn’t believe how poor the room condition was. It’s insane that they offer a worst than hostel quality room for €150, seriously.

The rooms were comfy and warm. No complimentary tea or coffee. The mattress were too soft, I woke up with back pain every morning. Staffs were friendly, breakfast excellent

Nice historical building with extraordinary architecture. Some rooms -such as 4th floor rooms- are small but definitely clean. Heating is not a problem. Breakfast is very good.

For a daytrip, I booked a single room. You can find the hotel in a beautiful alleyway near the city center. The receptionist was very friendly and helped me out with information about the city and parking garages. The simple and clean room, was equipped with a table, a chair, a bed, a shelve, and a bathroom with ashower, a sink and a toilet. The interior is beautifully old-fashioned. The dining room is wide and open and has an exterior extension. I enjoyed the breakfast on that warm summer morning outside, in the patio. I ate bread with some dutch specialities, scrambled egg, drank coffee and had yoghurt with cereals as a dessert. Very relaxing! You can park your car about a kilometer away in the city center parking garage for 8€ a day. A really good price, compared to the other parking fees.

"Not hotel worthy, hostel yes..." Me and my GF were looking for a place to stay in Deventer. Fletcher was one of the opportunities. Based on an earlier visit to Fletcher in Valkenburg I assumed this should be okay as well. Only 1 room which was left was a family room for € 139. Unfortunately the hotel didn't have an elevator so we had to take the stairs to the 3rd floor. Not convenient, especially when my GF is pregnant. But we accepted it as we didn't have much options left on that time of day. When arriving in the room, which was more like an attic (zolderkamer in Dutch) we noticed 3 beds (to me that sounds like a small family ;-)). The beds were on wheels and the mattresses were way too soft! The room had a TV but we couldn't turn it so we couldn't watch from our double bed (which was actually 2 separate beds placed to each other). The bathroom was clean but very basic. An old fashioned toilet, a shower with curtains and no hair dryer (available at reception as I've read in another review). All of this is okay when paying € 70 - 80, but € 139 is too much for the quality. Do have to admit, the location is in the center so that is a plus and the entrance looks promising too as it has been a monastery before. Summary: + location, entrance - soft beds, very basic equipment, (way too) expensive for the quality you get

Such an amazing stay. All was great here. The building is several centuries old and has incredible common spaces. Super friendly staff. Tasty breakfast. Cozy and fresh-looking rooms. Just 10 min walk from the train station, and that’s already the heart of the city. And all this, for a very reasonable price (I am a solo traveller). I’d absolutely like to come back.

The hotel belongs to the lower class ones, similar to other Fletcher hotels. The staff can be both nice and rude, depending on who you run into.
