The Chateau is a lovely place, it’s very old & historic. The view from there is fantastic! The tickets are around 5 euros small children don’t pay. There’s the bottom part of the castle available, you cannot access towers. It’s like a museum & gallery in one. There’s an Ivory museum too. But gutted as there wasn’t an English guide to read so didn’t actually learn anything about the history of this place. It’s open currently 10-12 & 2-5 and shut otherwise. There’s free toilets on the premises, it has entrances from the bottom & top of the castle. I wish the people working there were a bit more pleasant but as a sightseeing & historical place it’s lovely. Family friendly. Recommended to visit if in Dieppe.

Nice gallery with lots of ivory decorations. Was expecting more on castle itself than a gallery. The view of the city and the beach was great. For the price of the ticket, I think is worth the visit.

Unfortunately closed however the views of Dieppe are wonderful. The Canadian Memorial garden just below the chateaux walls are worth visiting.

It’s a long steep hill to get to the castle, but great views out over the sea and Dieppe make it worthwhile. Unfortunately we arrived too late to go in to the castle, but we were still able to get inside the walls and in to the outer bailey area. We parked close by in a seafront car park and made the most of the various ice cream and food stalls before heading in to Dieppe itself. All in all, a decent place to visit.

The museum has an incredible collection of ivory carvings, really something to see. There is no castle tour, just the museum which is worth a visit.

For sure the visit of Dieppe Castle is a must in Dieppe. Nice castle, excellent view on the city. The museum itself, I mean, okay if you have time, if you will miss it, not a problem. Thanks to the city of Dieppe, parts of the castle you can see without buying a ticket. Anyways, best is the view…

Pretty cool place to visit. Beautiful area with plenty to see without paying to enter museum, but worth the entry fee. Easily can spend 2 hours or more just walking around and enjoying everything. Be prepared for uphill walking. Very limited parking (5 cars at the top), but there is free parking near the beach which is about a 10 - 15 minute walk to the chateau. Defiently worth visiting.

If you say you close at 12, you close at 12. You dont rush the visitors out of the door at 11:40 after you have been opened for less than 2 hoirs and for sure you learn some english if you have any pretense of being some sort of a museum guide. The museum is too focused on its own history and nothing else. Nothing really stood out, but the whole atmosphere created by the staff was unwelcoming and tense

Really well put together museum even though it’s small. Well focussed and tells its story well. Very little explanation in English, and it would be better for foreign tourists if there was more. I could make some sense of things but luckily my partner is French…

Excellent museum containing art, amazing artifacts and history of Dieppe. Good value with a tiny gift shop.

The Medieval Festival was very interesting, a lot of shows, shops, food, the museum was open for free, a lot of music, many beautiful disgused persons.

Had to push the bike up the hill but well worth the effort! The museum contains many paintings of Dieppe some by famous artists Also an amazing collection of fine carvings in ivory.

Interessante Anlage.

Really poor museum. Fantastic building but collections are poor. References to Saint- Saens in marketing material radically overstate the quality of the material relating to the composer. Overall embodies everything that is dated and old fashioned about provincial museums, and everything that most modern museums are desperately trying to change.

Small museum but still some great masterpieces, fabulous view of the landscape

Superb presentation of Dieppe's history, including famous residents, seafaring links and tradition, crafts and industry all graphically portrayed through well presented artefacts, pottery, paintings, sculptures and descriptions. All this plus special sections for Camille Saint Saens and Georges Braque both of which are excellent. Be aware though that probably 90% of exhibits have a description in French only with 10% with an English translation.
