Restaurant Uyghur cuisine restaurant

👍👍 Had the lamb skewers, gosh nan, polo rice and lamb soup. Serving size is generous and the tastes are on point. Delicious and well definitely recommend. Food was serve promptly because we got the early and there was only one other table of customers. The restaurant gives the family-run-business vibe.... Have been wanting to try Uyghur cuisine. Walked passed this restaurant many times. Brightly lit, clean and is always crowded during dinner time. We arrived around 8pm and most people have finished their dinner and left. Food arrived pretty quickly. Super delicious Lamb skewers! Flavourful and tasty. The popular Uyghur Chicken dish also exceeded my expectations. Can’t comment if they are authentic or not because it’s the first time we tried. But we like the flavour. The noodles, however are too strong flavoured and numbing spicy for us. Will remember to check spicy levels when I order the next time. Staffs try their best to attend to all customers and make everyone feels welcomed. Be patience when it’s crowded. Be there either early or later if you want to avoid the crowd. Will definitely be back to try other dishes.

First time trying Uyghur dishes. All the dishes we ordered were very tasty and salty! Snake beans, lamb ribs and lamb skewers. If you’re craving for some meaty dishes- i suggest the bbq ribs and lamb skewers - i really enjoyed it and the meat was perfectly cooked

Have seen several Uyghur restaurants popping up around Melbourne so always wanted to try one. We initially wanted to go for Viet cuisine, as we walked past Amat restaurant, shop looked new and clean, so we decided to give them a go. It didn't disappoint, food is tasty, and we were greeted with smiles. The wait was much sooner than expected, within 10mins, very acceptable. Will be back to try out other dishes.

Great food, service and clean environment. So far, this has to be the best Xinjiang restaurant in Melbourne. Growing up eating the cuisine and having been to Xinjiang and tried the food there, the dishes are authentic. Seriously tastes like home. Recommended dishes are the handmade noodles, lamb skewers, naan bread, kao bao zi and salad. Will come back!

Really good very impression of AMAT, a newly opened Xinjiang restaurant in Carnegie. Really impressed with the authenticity and generous servings of staples such as hand-pullled noodles, lamb skewers and lamb pilaf. Staff were attentive and service timely. Definitely worth checking out if you're prepared to be well fed!

Our Uighur friends brought us there and by their standards, they say the food is pretty authentic! One of the noodles was really numbing "pepperish/ma-lat" spicy. Overall was unique cuisine for me to try out!

Food is very nice ! Very friendly service, unlike another restaurant (same cuisine) nearby. The place is very clean too (but maybe that’s because it is newer ?). I will definitely come here again. We ordered lamb with rice, lamb skewer, lamb ribs. Everything was cooked to perfection

The menu was full of exciting dishes. The dishes ordered came out in a timely manner and were presented well and full of taste in true Uyghur style. The place was clean and tidy. The team was of beautiful nature and very warm in their chats with us.
