Beautiful vibe in this pizza restaurant! Pizzas were huge and perfectly cooked, and we took our leftovers home. Sweet potato fries were perfect. So lovely to visit and catch up with the family after the lockdown. Wait staff were attentive, food was fast and we felt welcome and relaxed. There's space outside for furry friends and a gelato bar for dessert. Thank you!

What a pity ... an Italian inspired restaurant with a below average coffee. 5/10 for their latte, watery, bland and almost no coffee character at all. Pizza seems to be popular, however I did not try their food, hence the 6/10, benefit of the doubt.

Loved my Vegie Infusion burger ! Super tasty! Music was a bit loud , so not a relaxing atmosphere indoors. Great options for outdoor or indoor dining.

Very nice place with a real rustic authentic looking restaurant with a nice big wood fire oven. Food was very nicely cooked and generally put to together quite well. In all honesty it was the best burger I have had in a while. My only negative was the Oreo shake. It was nice but prefer it to just be fully crushed so I can enjoy it as I eat the burger. Service was very nice as well and the price of the burgers was very well

This place has really gone down hill. We ordered a take away pizza tonight and there was virtually no topping on it. A complete rip off.

Had the pumpkin burger special here and it was delicious. Would go again. The outdoor seating was nice and next to a decorative windmill which adds character to the area.

Best burgers I have had in my life, this place has got the best food quality and the best prices, really good energy from the employees, made my experience here 10 times better. Definitely recommend coming here on a Friday night.

Max's is an absolute gem in Montmorency. The food is great, the prices are spot on and the staff are super friendly. Their pizzas are amazing, especially the crust, it's everything you'd expect from wood fired pizza. Their chicken parmas are near perfect as well. In fact everything is well thought out, down to the herbed chips and the little extras in the garden salad like roasted capsicum. Easily worth a weekly visit.

The Margherita pizza was cooked to perfection and the staff seemed nice. The bathroom is hidden in a staff corridor and there's no signage to where it was. A bathroom sign will make it better.

Excellent takeaway burger and herb chips. Ordered for pickup at 7.05 and was ready perfectly on time.

Great specials on Tuesday (Parma for 15) and Wednesday(wood fired pizzas from 12 and 16). Been back several times. Highly recommended!

A place that used to be so good and completely went downhills! The marguerite pizza is nothing more than a soggy bread dough with tomato sauce and 7 little rounds of mozzarella in it. The hamburger advertised as a 160 g patties has no more than 100g, if so. Sizes shrunk, quality completely gone and when you complain the answer is that this is how the food is served and that is it. 8pm the coffee machine was already off for a while and once a larger table left the place the heater was turned off and the place started to cool down as well as the lights were turned mostly off.... Not coming back at all! Pay for a pizza and receive bread with tomato sauce is a little too much!

Food is always great and service top notch, unfortunately last visit we had a bit of chili end up in our kid's Hawaiian pizza. Only time in maybe 20 visits we've had less than awesome food so still looking forward to our next meal at Max's

This is the best pizza place in at least a 15km radius. It's not your typical take away pizza with a pre-done base, it's a proper pizza dough with quality ingredients cooked in a proper wood fired oven. And the staff are always lovely Couldn't wait to take the photo attached, so the pizza is already half eaten.

Ordered on Ubereats. Not well cooked pizza. Ordered extra cheese for $3.99. Some of the pizzza slices had zero cheese. Expensive , will not order again. Only plus side is that ham was decent.

Was disappointed that the burgers did not come with a side of salad or chips. Two very cheap items that could have easily gone with it. Maybe next time I wont "assume" 😐 even my partner said "Is that it?"

Walked here for ice cream and was very happy with the Mandarin Gelato and the Mango Gelato. Definitely come back to try some flavours soon.

What a ripper. Drove past and saw the $15 Parma night on a Tuesday. Went home and got the kids. For $15 bucks it’s a great serve. Delicious FRESH salad, yummy chips and the Parma is just the right size. That was my concern for $15. How small was it going to be. Nup it was just right. The Parma was bloody delicious. This was our first time here and we were really impressed. The staff were very polite too! Well done peeps

We really enjoyed our first visit to Max's. We visited on a Tuesday when they have Parma night - a variety of different parma flavours all for $15 each. They came with a generous serve of fries and a lovely salad. Well done Max's, we will definitely be back! We went back again a week later on Wednesday night for woodfired Pizza night. Couldn't believe it - the pizzas were even better than the parmas. The standard range of pizzas are $12 with the more gourmet options being $16. This has very quickly become our local. Once again - well done Max's.

Just ordered 2 pizza paid $56. The base was very thin and burnt. One of the pizzas was not even edible. Very disappointing. Don’t think I will be back.

Crazy underrated pizzas. The pepperoni peccorino pizza, omg. Legitimately some of the best I've had anywhere in the world. Could possibly use a few extra minutes in the fire pit personally as I like the crunch.

This place does the best burgers anywhere around the area. Very very good. The herb chips are delicious as well. I had the special, which was beef and haloumi burger. Yum! The only issue you need to worry about is the place can get really busy, so ensure you make a reservation and do not be late. Highly recommended!

Generally nice meals & lovely staff however we were told our pizzas would be 40 minutes (we phoned upon them opening) We waited 35 Minutes and are near cold pizzas. If they had have been made faster than the time quoted we would have appreciated a phone call to collect the 2 pizzas sooner and not have them sitting there made. Really frustrating.

Very disappointed after reading the good reviews. Both mine and my husband's meals we're absolutely disgusting (pizza, burger, chips and onion rings, even the dipping sauces didn't taste right. Wouldn't return.

Nice decor. Good service. Our burgers were only OK and not great, rated 2 stars because they were slightly undercooked (meat was still pink in the very middle) and overpriced. Would maybe return to see if the pizzas are better. Maybe.

I have tried Vanilla Slices across three different states and there is none that come even close to comparing. From the pastry to the custard filling and icing I always make this my number one stop for a Vanilla Slice to die for and a killer price for a slice that won't disappoint or break the budget. Seriously it's addictive but well worth it though and you will wonder what you were eating before because this is the only Vanilla Slice as far as I'm concerned - I LOVE IT!!! Thank You Simon - the Vedder family got me on this 😊 Also the guy that I usually get to see as I buy my slice and leave is AWESOME too!!!

Had the second worst meal I have ever had at a restaurant tonight. It's my mother's bithday, so we went to Max's Woodfired Pizza & Burgers. We have been there quite a few times and we have always enjoyed the food. Not tonight. I don't know what has changed - new owner? new chef? new management? But the food was horrid. I ordered the Red Hot Chilli Burger ($16) took one bite and couldn't eat it. The burger was pink. I like my meat well-done. It took all my effort not to vomit. I also ordered the side of rustic wedges ($3.50 - I'm sure you can imagine the serving size and this was my whole dinner) - they were cold, but I ate them - very average, could easily make better myself and they'd be warm. My mother didn't eat all of her meal either - which isn't like her - she loves salad and complained to my brother and I about how generic and disgusting it was, leaving hers on the plate. When it came time to pay, my mother mentioned that I couldn't eat my burger. The staff member said "our burgers come medium-rare". It doesn't say this on the menu. My mother said maybe you should tell people that or ask them how they like their burgers... my mother was dismissed with a "thank-you". We had to pay for a $16 burger that I took one bite out of. No apology. No - "would you like us to cook you something else?". No - "would you like us to remake it but well-done?". No - "we'll remove that from your bill". All of these options have been offered to myself and people I know when meat has not been cooked to a person's liking. We will never go here again - which is a shame as we used to love the place. We also noticed that the pizza that I used to order was removed from the menu; hence why I was stuck ordering a burger.

We used to enjoy Max's but the last two times we have been they got our order wrong. Last time it was a simple change, a Parma with no ham. After a 30 minute wait it came out with ham and when I pointed it out they asked if they could just take off the topping and put it on again without the ham. I made it clear I was not ok with this (although I'm sure that's what happened and I couldn't eat it). I then had to wait again so my husband had finished his meal before mine even came out. When it did come out it was served in a bowl! It's very difficult to cut a Parma up in a bowl. There was no apology when we went to pay so I complained and they did take it off the bill. I understand mistakes are made but how they are dealt with makes all the difference. It was not handled well in this instance.

I had ordered a burger and my nephew ordered a pizza and fries His pizza no fries arrived after 1 hour I had asked 3 different waitress when would my burger arrive the young waitresses were apologetic saying its on its way however after 1 hour and 20 mins i got up and left as my food that we ordered had never arrived !!

The atmosphere is excellent with great food and service. Their chips are wonderful. I can't wait to go there again
