Be careful! You’ll fall in love with this place and you’ll always have to come back... so avoid this area, unless you want to risk a recidivist urge to keep revisiting or even consider living in the area. A nebular weightlessness of a galactic experience, a sense of how it feels to live in a Claude Monet’s painting... and did I mention “Impression Sunrise”? Depending on the time of day, the weather & the season, the dithering ambience vacillates between impressionism & expressionism, dallying with Edvard Munch (No, it’s not Edward, he’s Norwegian, 1894) and his Anxiety at the sunset one day, cheating with Renoir’s Two Sisters the next day. It is an artwork alive.

This used to be a great park, but ever since a "public safety incident" (Council's wording), Skydive St Kilda mark out a very large perimeter with bollards. The area takes up most of the park, and the operators don't bring in the bollards between jumps. The public is not supposed to walk through the marked area for their own safety, but this means that most of the park is out of bounds - sometimes for all of the daylight hours of the day. The skydiving has taken over most of the park, and other public activities have suffered. Not many people go here anymore.

A handy stretch of grass and bark to roam through with your hounds off-lead while they ramble around sniffing the post-human picnic left-overs. It provides refuge from the threats of the nearby bike track that runs along the shoreside footpath. It has a couple of crossings that you have to note, since the two-wheeled unidentifiable terrorists give no acknowledgement of the speed² formula for kinetic energy: their mass is very dangerous, to the square² of their speed.

Great outdoor green space and take your dog. There's a separate gated enclosure to let dogs roam & mix with other dogs off leash. Love the ocean being so close, and It's very cool watching the skydivers fly in and land as well.

A quality free-letics/calisthenics gym right on the Ellwood foreshore which attracts enthusiasts of all levels and experience. Exercises available are limited only by imagination. There is fall/impact protective flooring throughout and access to a water fountain. P.S don't be intimidated, be inspired by some of the amazing athletes who sometimes visit. Go your own way!

A nice big open grassed area right by the water between point ormond and the mariner where you can let the kids and or dogs have a run. There is some exercise equipment in one corner and wonderful views over the bay to the city.

Great place to see skydivers maneuver their way down from 3,000+ m and land within an approximate 200m radius.
