So nice to return here after many years. Used to be a regular haunt ‘back in the day’. Tonight, three of us gathered for a regular catch up and this became an obvious central point to dine. We chose Mexican burrito to, mee goreng and mushroom raghu along with a glass of wine each. Food was fabulous and portion size was generous. Flavours blended well and not hot and spicy. Staff are great and always attentive. Quick to take orders and later, clean away plates. Kid friendly, with high chairs available. Wheelchair accessibility. First of all I probably need to say I think I’ve been coming here for about 20 years. How is that even possible?? As per the last several years when ever I eat here which isn’t frequent at all I always get the burrito. It was delicious and very filling surprisingly. But from memory that always happens. My friend and I were out for lunch for both of our birthdays. Jewelz My friend has lots of food requirements. She was pretty excited to be able to order a gluten-free dairy free vegan barbecue ‘chicken’ pizza. It was a really good size and looked delicious. We’ve had a full day of sightseeing in our home city Melbourne So we were hungry. We had my puppy with me so we sat out the front but it was sunny and they had nice umbrellas up. The waiter was extremely friendly with a cool accent and just the right amount of flirtatious chatter. We also had the berry smoothie and it was the most delicious drink I’ve had this year. The toilets were small but clean and tidy as always. I love that this place is in its original location and still serving up the goods, I just wish I could’ve fitted in one of those deserts. Next time! Veggie bar please don’t go anywhere you’re like a warm big hug for me after the last few years here in Melbourne. Thank you!

Delicious food & excellent service! We ordered several dishes and everything was delicious. Service was friendly, helpful and quick. They offer tons of vegetarian, vegan & gluten free options.

Very enjoyable meals and fast service. They serve all kinds of cuisines. I had the Zen Buddha Bowl and my friend had the Poke Bowl.

Loved the menu, its really refreshing to see items that are good for your gut. The mushroom taco and the chicken Bao was really good but the salad and the noodles were a let down. Noodles were too oily Good vibe Would come here again

Fantastic place, wanted to go to a veg/vegan restaurant to expand our horizons, and for a dear friend that is vegan. The service staff were funny and friendly, many yummy things to try, stand out was the mushroom taco, it was hard choosing something to eat. Grabbed dessert next door, made our own sundae, they warmed up the brownie and we got a scoop of biscoff ice cream on top, perfect way to end the night. You’ll always find paid parking on the street, best part about the area.

Food was amazing, staff were very friendly and service was quick. Great place to grab vegetarian food. We stopped by for lunch. Fyi not dog friendly, great coffee, the Mushroom special was especially good. The servings of the stir fry and gnocchi were on the larger size.

Really huge hearty portions. Tried the peking duck wrap which had really good duck sauce. Burger rustic fries were really good. Vegan burger meat had a nice fleshy flavour Noodles were a little oily but was decadently good

Awesome lunch. Margarita Pizza, Mushroom Bao and Duck Udon along with some nice beverages. All dishes were very good. Portion size of the dishes were perfect. Vegie bar has wide selection of vegetarian + vegan food and fresh juices. Their desserts and cakes are mouth watering. Staff are awesome, friendly and always serve you with a smile.

Really good food!!! I had Mostly green and it was so good I have no words. Mexican burrito 🌯 was a hit!!! Sweet potato chips were so additive!!!🤤🤤🤤 The whole experience was great. All foods are vegetarian.

I have been here numerous times, this week I went 2 evenings in a row. I had the Burger Pizza which tasted amazing, if you love pickles, this Pizza is for you. The following evening I chose the Chicken and Beef Bao buns which tasted great, I had a late lunch so these were perfect and I saved enough space to share the Mango Cheesecake, and Not a Maxibon, I preferred the Maxibon over the cheesecake as a personal preference. Atmosphere was great and the service is always friendly, you can order through staff or QR code, bathroom is clean also. Lots of tables also. You can also get take away as they have a separate ice cream and food store attached.

Great vegan food never did I think I would get so full with that amount of vegan food. There tonic drink options are great Something rather different from a lot of other restaurants is when paying the bill they allow you an option to pay tip

Vegie bar was a nice experience. The food was great. It is a vegan restaurant so every item on the menu was vegan. We ate Mexican burritos 🌯 which were good and some yoki noodles 🥢🫕🍝 however the shaved ginger was too strong in that dish. The service was pretty good. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

Yuzu cake was delicious!! Small plates were fantastically filling too. Nice vibe! Waiter was friendly. A relief that the majority of the food is vegan except for the Halloumi burger - didn't realise there was a nice courtyard at the back and some space upstairs and at the side, will have to be back to try out the other options:) delishhh! Funnily enough we entered their take away mistakenly and was redirected by the staff working by the counter fully appreciated that!

Very popular spot - and for good reason!! Generous portion sizes of delicious vegan and vegetarian food. A good range of dishes as well so it’s the perfect spot to visit with a group who may all want something different. A few of my friends love the Laksa and Pad Thai. I had the burger which was a really good staple, super filling and yummy sauce. Did have a meat-like texture. Was quite messy but certainly worth it !! Will be back to try something new soon!

Great Melbourne institution, it’s been thriving for over twenty years in the inner city north suburb of Fitzroy, the crowd is as interesting as the amazing vegetarian dishes, and the servings are healthy and large. Leave enough room to try a slice of one of their amazing cakes, if it’s really busy you can often get a spot at the outdoor bar located through the main dining area. The staff are always fast and friendly, highly recommend a dinner here.

We were recommended vege bar by a friend and made a special trip to eat here three times during our ten day stay in Melbourne's CBD. The Laksa is probably the best Laksa I’ve ever had. Highly recommend and we will be back!

Leckeres Essen, viele verschiedene Gerichte und einige glutenfreie Optionen. Die Portionen sind großzügig und die Atmosphäre ist gemütlich, wir saßen im hinteren Bereich. Teilweise stehen die Tische dort sehr eng nebeneinander, etwas mehr Abstand wäre angenehm.

We came to Melbourne to meet up with family. We decided on Vegie Bar from a recommendation and the reviews. We were not disappointed at all, in fact, we were blown away by the meals we ordered. I had the Zen Bowl, fresh and a lot of flavour. My daughter ordered the Mexican Burrito and not only was it huge, she said it was the best. My sister ordered the Beef!! Rendang and she could not believe how great the meal was. My daughter shared a lemon meringue pie and I have no words!! It is a shame we don't have Vegie Bar in Adelaide. We ordered the gnocchi and it was great! The pizza was also fine but the gluten free dough wasn’t that great. For dessert we ordered brownies and that was amazing! Overall we had a lovely dinner.

Better with age! This is my 2nd or 3rd visit in five years. It has an improved menu, similar layout but seems to have improved as well. This place is always busy, so best to book to avoid disappointment. It’s heartwarming to see them have 99% vegan ? dishes. Our food was delicious and service was fantastic.???

Busy restaurant. Food was not bad but little bit pricey. Fresh ingredients, the average quality of taste. Seat was uncomfortable.(table was short so I had to bend myself forward too much when I ate.) Not bad place for having vegan food with my friends. I am willing to be here agian.

This place is absolutely fantastic for brunch, but I didn’t love it for dinner the one time that I went. The laksa my friend got looked incredible but the stir fry I got was quite bland. Nevertheless amazing vibe for a restaurant, always cool magazines / newspapers featuring local stuff laying around. Would recommend!

Great food. The place is pretty big with nice ambience. They also have good specials. There are a lot of options available to choose from in the menu and they are not very expensive as well. Wait time is regular.

We drive 40 mins purely to cure our craving for vegan chocolate cake that DEFINITELY doesn't taste like vegan chocolate cake. Hits the spot every time so much so we order a whole cake for special occasions. Best.

As a vegetarian I usually order whatever I can eat on a menu. At vegie bar I can eat ANYTHING on the menu! And it's freaking delicious!

Large meals for good prices and tasty.. however you’re not allowed to doggy bag and the options for fructose friendly meals are like.. 2. I get the hemp gnocchi whenever I go even though I shouldn’t.. because it’s just so delicious.

Everyone's dishes looked great with lots of ingredients. I ordered the Better than a Big Mac, it was one of the worst things I've ever had. The consistency of the whole thing was complete mush. I honestly don't understand how it's still on the menu. Really bad for its price point.

Loved the tempeh bowl! Beautiful presentation and good flavours. The fries were a bit salty, but a little shake and they were delicious. The interior also has a cool warehouse vibe with large ceilings and indoor plants. Cute place for sure with a diverse vegetarian menu. Highly recommend!

Vegie bar is every vegan's dream eatery! The restaurant has expanded over time and has still managed to maintain its vibe, food quality as well as the portion size. We ordered the Red curry and the Burgernator. Both of them were delicious, the burger patty was smoky and tasted a lot like Beyond burger I have previously tried in Singapore. The cocktail was mixed well and tasted great! Overall, if you are a vego and hunting for new cool places, Vegie bar should surely be on your bucket list.

I always wanted to come to this place because one of my friends recommended it to me. I had the opportunity to go this week and I ordered the Mexican burrito, letteraly I didn't miss the meat at all because it was so tasty, creamy and waa the perfect portion. Also, we had the sundae as the desert and it was out of this world.

This is a Melbourne staple. Always great food & staff have always been friendly. Food never takes forever to arrive & you always walk out very satisfied with what you've just eaten.

Fantastic vegetarian food! Very easy-to-use online ordering system. One of the staff spent some time kindly and patiently helping us choose and recommending popular options. I had the coffee and liked it. We had a great time, sitting at in a room at the back of the restaurant which had a good atmosphere and I'd probably choose it over the packed main seating area.

Great place! We loved how many options they offer, with a wide variety of styles. Most dishes are well balanced and nutritious and the desserts are amazing. All vegan!

Got there early so we are still able to get a table without waiting in a long queue. Vegie Bar has always been very well known and good however 3 out of 5 dishes we ordered this afternoon do not seem to be up to the Vegie Bar standard. Vietnamese Noodle Salad, the noodle is not cooked and no extra Nuoc Nam sauce is given on the side. Mee Goreng with peanut sauce? Yaki Udon seems like the wrong type of udon is used.

You can never go wrong with a visit here. Even after so many years, Vegie bar is still producing insanely delicious food. The only thing I didn’t like - the coconut yogurt next to the burrito and the service (which was not friendly in anyway as it was almost like we were offending the waiter my friend was asking questions to).

Been to Vegie Bar many times and it's always delicious. We ordered the Burgernator and the Tofu burger. Both were amazing. The Burgernator was juicy and the "meat" and "bacon" were the best I've tasted. The tofu in the tofu burger was crispy and flavourful and it paired great with the slaw. We also ordered the raspberry ganache tart which was the perfect balance of sweet and bitter. Definitely a must visit for vegan food in Melbourne.

I had the burger and it was delicious.curry was amazing too. Staff very nice and the place inside is very cool. My only suggestion: maybe the fries portion could have been a bit bigger 😉

Loved the dishes we ordered. We ordered the udon dish, pizza, laksa and burrito. All of the dishes were awesome. Udon was slightly oily but still good. Will come here again. Ambiance was nice. Very busy. But they were still able to accommodate. Now waiting on dessert!!! I wish I lived in the area! I would be here pretty often.

Veggie bar is our go to place for 10+ years, good vibes, good food and service. We went again after lock down and must say that food was a real let down. We call for Tofu burger, Peking wrap both frankly had the same soy sauce used and couldn’t taste the difference. Chicken bao and gyoza were just OK. Giving 3 out of 5 as food was just OK.

Nice place and vibe. Service at decent pace Standout was mushroom taco and sweet potato chips with garlic aioli. the raspberry cake was also fantastic and all vegan. The laksa was okay but the tofu in it was not the best and thin rice noodles used but would probably work better with thick.

Pizza is amazingly delicious, even my son loves it. Definitely come back another time to try more food. Wish to have a cafeteria like this in south-east suburb.

I had a quick late lunch by myself the other day and the staff is kind and approachable. I’d love to visit with vegan friends again!

The food was good, but the rest of the staff were just so unconcerned about doing a good job. They were wearing just whatever, so it was unclear who we were meant to look out for, to eventually order. I had forgotten some wine terms and asked the waiter what it meant that the wine was "cuvée" - "oh, I don't really know much about wine. Haha" My friend then asked him about the advertised "dairy" option for the pizza - what was the default version then? "Hmm, I'm not quite sure." If you don't know what you're offering and I don't know what you're offering, then this situation is just absurd. Whenever the food and drinks arrived, they hadn't remembered who had ordered what. When they took the order, they asked the table to confirm the entirety of the order - I wasn't keeping track of everything my friends ordered, none of us can confirm this for you, just do your job yourself. Later in the night, I wanted to order a beer and it took about 5 minutes before I could catch one of the waitstaff. After 10 minutes of waiting, I asked the waitress to just cancel the beer and bring us the bill. "Sorry, it's just the bar's been slammed" - well hire more staff then, I responded. The waitress snapped back, "it's not like *I* can hire more staff!" I brought the bill up to the cash register and the idiot who didn't know anything about the food or wine he was selling was eagerly asking me to leave a tip.

Great staff, cool vibe and AMAZING food. I had the vegan beef rendang which was one of the best vegan dishes I have ever had. Spicy, incredible flavor- A++++. Definitely don’t miss while in Fitzroy.

I had the best experience at Vege Bar tonight! Today was my first day in Melbourne and I was welcomed by El apon entry, and she was was extremely welcoming and made me comfortable straight away. I also had great service from Laura and Leo through the night, and the Truffle Pizza I ordered was spectacular. I hope this finds its way off the specials menu and finds a place on their pizza menu. Thank you guys for a wonderful dining experience, I would recommend to anyone!
