Great value dinner. We visited the same chain at the Yarra Lodge Valley newly opened Okami. The quality of food and service was exceptional. The attention to detail was there.Great meal. Will be back again. In Frankston the place is very busy.We love the place and keep going back again and again.Highly recommend to visit. We went back to Okami after a long pause. The food was still delicious😋 and served in a very timely manner. We love going there.👍😘

Was enjoying a wonderful meal when my daughters meal came out with a huge cockroach looking bug the size of my finger on-top of the salad. She was horrified. At the end of the night all they could offer was no charge on the drinks when our half of the table never even ordered any drinks, so our friends got a lowsy $10 off for this horrific experience that should not have occurred. We should have walked out on the spot last rounds or not! What an insult.

An excellent Japanese restaurant that serves all you can eat plates. The quality of food was above average of and tasty, plus the service was fast and friendly. We booked the 7:45pm session which allowed approximately 90 minutes to cater your dishes. The cost was $37 per adult and $32 seniors price.

At the cost of less than $40 per person, Okami offers an all-you-can-eat buffet experience of delicious Japanese food cooked fresh from when you place an order from their menu. Their sushi, tempura, meat dishes and dessert are a must have! Service was also excellent when we visited

Salad came with an extra bug at no extra charge. Very generous. "Sometimes they don't wash the vegetables properly", exactly what you want to hear from the waitress when you mention a bug in your food.

What a terrible experience! And before people come at me for leaving a terrible review I mentioned it to staff on the night and they shrugged it off. There was hair on one of the plates of food we had ordered, they then didn’t replace the food until we asked for the 3rd time and then only brought out a half serve when originally they brought enough for 2. Chicken dim sims were cold in the centre. For some reason even though it was a dish ordered at the start when we eventually got served, they said the Seafood Tempura doesn’t come out until later, even though folks around us had ice cream. Honestly still confused. Tables are way too close together maybe a 10cm gap and that’s not an exaggeration. The waitress we spoke to when leaving and I mentioned the issues again asked if I’d eaten there before. Never at Frankston but at other locations without these issues. My friend and I were both very disappointed in the experience.

First time visiting. The service itself is slow and you need to be very persistent in trying to get the servers attention in order to place requests for drinks or food. Food itself was good, no complaints. Ambiance is very cold and clinical but I guess it can't be helped

Okami in Frankston was wonderful experience. The venue is simiply but tastefully decorated. It looked clean and well presented. We went yesterday on Valentine's Day and, we were not disappointed at all. The Asian staff is very efficient and we left them a nice tip as well. The restaurant had a lovely ambiance: it was full actually. Dishes were fresh and well presented. The only one that did not match the rest were the inexpensive Veggie Springrolls that sell in supermarkets. As for the rest, YES...we do recommend and will be back later this year. Keep the good work everyone!

Our family of 10 joined together for dinner. We enjoyed trying all the different dishes. The grandchildren enjoyed the chicken dishes with rice and vegetables. The adults liked the steak squid and the other seafood dishes. We were served quickly the food was hot and we enjoyed. Staff were lovely.

Food was good as usual but this was my first time at this specific location and service was extremely slow. Didn’t have our order taken for half an hour even after consistently asking, same with getting water even after constant reminders we ended up just taking it from the counter. Ended up leaving before our lasts plates came as they took over 25 minutes from when we ordered them. Would recommend driving a little bit further to the Chelsea Heights location for better service instead.

All you can eat Japanese restaurant. Just keep picking anything off the menu and they bring it to you. The food is quite good. No complaints and all you can eat ( in an hour and a half) is just the icing on the cake. My only complaint would be, they do get busy on a Friday and Saturday night and it took a little while for food to come out. As a result I started to rage order in the hope that if I ordered sheer quantity, something would come out eventually. And it did.. the last half an hour was just dish after dish coming out relentlessly and we did get quite full. Really enjoyed it though. TIP: Don’t get frustrated like I did and start rage ordering. You will get swamp with food eventually;)

I have been going to Okami with my family for a few years. We've always loved the food and service. Hung the manager, is fantastic. My favourite restaurant on the Peninsula.

Happy to say that the food was excellent. Each meal has a different texture and taste. Meals come out gradually throughout the two hour period. There is more than enough food available. Service was as expected— quick and positive, although once a staff member didn't hear a table member request a food item, and walked away. This isn't bad. The overall experience was special in that we tasted the Japanese culture not only in the food but in little details of Japanese etiquette such as the mini food dishes and serving style. Try Okami but remember to book in advance!

Big variety of food available. Very good service and although small servings, you do get full quickly and it is reasonably priced.

no as good as I thought it would be.. steak was tough,, prawns were very small,, chicken overcooked and very greasy,,dim sims and spring rolls were the cheap frozen variety.. tempura however was perfect.. won't be in a hurry to go back...

Always a great meal! And the staff are very good at what they do, for the pressure they are under, considering it's All-you-can-eat. Price is extremely reasonable, food is fantastic and huge range of options. Only down side is that due to its popularity, especially with large groups, and small size venue, it does get very noisy. But we'll worth a try...

The food was good until you get all of them and realise it tastes almost the same. But still a good flavour! The servers make me feel a little uncomfortable like they’re judging you on what you order, but the atmosphere was so amazing

I really wanted to like this restaurant, the concept was great and the menu looked delicious but the execution was way off. We got there when the restaurant had first opened at 5.30pm and starting to fill up already. Our drinks did not come out till we were almost finished our meal, the servers were handing dishes out to multiple tables including ours that had received double or missed dishes all together. The table behind us, in front of us and beside us had all complained because food and drinks were either missed with waits of up to 45 minutes between dishes and drinks ordered at the same time, some dishes were coming to the table that were not even ordered. Dishes such as the Tempura and Chicken Karaage were really nice but other dishes such as the beef tasted microwaved and not very fresh. Disappointed in the overall experience

Have been a few times but last night will probably be the last. Service wasn’t just slow, was pretty much non existent. We were ignored several times when wanting service so had to go up to the counter to put some of our orders in. At the end when we flagged the staff member to order ice cream, he seemed annoyed. When he delivered the ice cream, he slammed it down on the table. I asked why he was so angry, he just made a noise and walked off. Will try the new place next time. Such a shame as it’s usually a great place. The apology didn’t seem sincere. ** Food was good as always

I ordered Menulog, received rare pork, it what world are you meant to eat pork rare, the restaurant didn’t do much to help just said contact menu log, I wouldn’t be leaving a bad review if this was the first time we received bad service from this restaurant.

Food was good but service was terrible. Been to other Okami's in Sunbury and Brunswick, and service here was poor by any standard. Booked the Sunday 7.45 sitting. Were packed into a corner of 5 booked tables whereas 80% of the restaurant was vacant/empty (what's that saying for a Sunday night?). Were attended to promptly probably because they were keen to close early. We had the all you can eat buffet and first round came out quickly. From there on, it was all downhill. After a half hour of waiting for someone to come around, I had to go to the counter to order another round of dishes. Within 15 mins of those coming out, the waiter then came around asking for final orders. It was 9.00pm. We ordered a few more dishes, along with desserts (ice creams). The desserts were brought out almost immediately even though we hadn't been served out final round of meals. We asked for these to be returned to the fridge until after the mains. Around 9.30, everything was promptly removed and bill provided for a quick exit. Everything felt rushed in spite of the fact that there were only 5 occupied tables. Enjoyed the food so will try an earlier booking (5.30?) next time to see if service is any better.

Managed to get a table at Okami before hitting lockdown again. Great food and service. This isn't like any other all you can eat restaurant. Very fresh.

We really enjoyed our dinner, food was great and unlike the previous times I have visited, there seemed to be less tables so we not so squashed in as previously. We did go to the second session 7.45pm so we didn’t have to rush to leave as the first session is 5.30pm- 7.30pm. Download the app on the website to book and you can also change numbers if you have anyone drop out or need to add people in. Lots of vegetarian option too which was great.

This is definitely my favourite Japanese restaurant. Special menu which is “all u can eat” with a lot of delicious meals. Chicken karage, sushi platter, teriyaki steak..... will back soon with my family! Also, the staffs are friendly, patient when you ask about the menu!

While you're only allowed an hour and a half, the food is brought out quick and always delicious so everyone can eat more than their fill in the time

  • 5/5 Chris S. 2 years ago on Google
Quality food given the "all you can eat" nature of the restaurant. Timely and accurate service for a busy environment. I was very impressed that there is a food wastage tariff applied if people were greedy and ordered too much.

You just know the staff don’t want to be there they placed food on our table that we didn’t even order and told us they’d come back for it which they never did and then tried to overprice us for food wastage even though we ate all of our food just not the food we didn’t order knowing someone else didn’t get there food!! They need a better system and they need to communicate with there customers AND EACH OTHER more they kept on blaming each other for who put food on our table and insisted we should eat it anyways….hope the other people who actually ordered there food got it in the end. NOT COMING BACK that’s for sure.
