None wish to have a disability for their life. That’s why non matter what every human being deserve to feel equality among any “human community” all around the world. I don’t know how a person could discriminate an another, I don’t know they got guts to do it. This restaurant has became one of the famous spot for discrimination. Disgusting!

Have been eating here for years. We love it, as do our friends. Almost every 1 star rating is internet backlash over a story which blew out of control. A misunderstanding really. One which shows the sad number of keyboard warriors in Australia who get too caught up in emotion to think logically. If you haven't been here, don't leave a review, find something else to have fun with. Back to the food. Excellent. Their vegetarian options are delicious. P.s. focussing on an Indian restaurant and calling them unaustralian is racist.

Haven't been here in awhile and had a great assortment of dishes to share with good friends. Friendly staff and a good experience all round.

Now for a genuine review on the food. Have been a regular here for the last 5 years, since moving to the area. One of the best Palak Paneer dishes I've had anywhere (I have tried many) and my son's favourite. The Dal is always delicious too. Well-priced and friendly service.

The most embarrassing place I ever ate. He gave us a table next to the toilet, we had to stand up to let people come and go from the bathroom. He squashed in his tiny shop (not a restaurant) too many people and has been serving only entrees to the customer while he was doing tons of deliveries. He suggested us to buy the entrees which is 1 prawn per person covered in raw sliced onion and one tiny piece of chicken per person covered in raw sliced onion. Then we waited literally 55 min for the main. All customers in the shop have had the same treatment. It was embarrassing to see that not one single person in the restaurant was eating while the deliveries were going so well. In one hour we have seen at least 10 customers coming to pick up their food. We couldn't believe it..The main finally arrives, it was average for an Indian. The bill: $146 for 3 people. The entree was $18 and $17 for one prawn and one piece of chicken per person. Roti bread for three $22!! 3 glass of water $12! When we told him our opinion he said "off course mate, this is indian, the best food". He really could care at all, and when we paid he didn't accept debit as payment but only credit. End of the story? Horrible place, horrible service, average food, expansive and when we left we were also a little hungry.

Food here used to be good. I had posted a 5 star review only a couple of months ago. Last couple of orders fell short of my expectations.

Curry and entree were tasteless. Unfortunately I wouldn’t return or recommend. Service and atmosphere also not great. I liked they gave poppadoms when seating and the Naan was nice.

Shame on you for how you treat the disabled. Especially a war veteran. I'm stunned that you do this and try to run a business Will never eat here again, cannot support a discriminatory business owner #discrimination

Very disappointed as this used to be our favourite local Indian restaurant. The naan bread was not fresh and the kashmiri rice had frozen vegetables in it along with some raisins. Owner was not at all helpful when we rang and complained about the quality of the food. We will now need to go further a field for quality Indian food!

Changed owners recently. Lamb saag, veggie korma, chicken tikka, samosas, and peshwari naan all DELICIOUS. Definitely the best Indian we've had in Eltham.

What has happened to Ginger and Garlic? i was a loyal customer for years but NO MORE ! Our Aloo Mutter was soooo bland like they forgot to put any spices in it :/ and all oil with no curry taste or even a hint of chilli, like they are cheaping out and left all the flavour out or changed chefs, The garlic naan too was like no garlic to be seen. So disappointed and then i rang up to let them know but all i got was a loud and rude, defensive lady and just said that the chef has made it like that always, Which is BS because this was our go to curry place for years but something has changed and i regret spending close to $30 for oily, bland potato and peas and NON-garlicy naan bread uuggghhhh sad to say NEVER AGAIN and our relationship must end !!!!! and they could use a few lessons on good customer service, They have lost us as a customer. to others i would say AVOID and save your money!!!!

Twice now we have dined with the new owners of Ginger Garlic. Both were great experiences, The food, service, atmosphere etc were exceptional. The courses were spaced out to allow us to enjoy our meals. Food was authentic, and generous in sizes and no-one left hungry. We will return again very soon. Thank you.

Received different items to what I ordered, and both curries were just X ingredient with the same bland butter chicken gravy. One dish was just frozen peas in butter chicken sauce, and not what I ordered. I note another reviewer has also said they received an item with the same lazy butter chicken gravy, but also that the owner/manager likes to argue with anybody who leaves negative feedback rather than take it onboard and make improvements. There are tastier, more authentic and less lazy Indian restaurants around, I would not recommend this place.

I've recently started coming back to GG after a period of absence - The service was warm and friendly and the food was seriously delicious. It's a rich and indulging menu with some exotic choices over and above your standard Indian offering. Nothing but good things to say about the experience. We will be back again.

Wouldn't return or recommend. The lamb in the rogan josh was like trying to chew leather, we honestly couldn't eat it. The chicken tikka masala was nice, the naan were ordinary (didn't seem fresh). Disappointed as I was hoping for better given history of reviews.

This place is the greatest. Amazing food, full of flavour and cooked with passion. The service is perfect, our waitsperson was excellent. Stefan the owner is really lovely, he treats everyone like a friend. I will be back and suggest everyone give it a go. Especially the lamb shank.

So disappointed with our takeaway tonight. We used to love Ginger Garlic and have dined in and ordered takeaway for many years. Tonight was our first takeaway with the new owners. I ordered my favourite the Raan-e-jhansi-ki-rani which is normally a tomato based lamb shank on capsicum and onions. What I got was a shank in a bland standard gravy, no onions or capsicum. Not even remotely a tomato based sauce as described. It tasted like a watered down version of the lamb Rogan Josh my husband had. Also had vegetable pakoras which you used to get 4 in a serve and this had only 2 and the cauliflower was undercooked so it was hard and crunchy. Extremely disappointed.

Came here to see my long lost godfather, Ian. But that's another story. Beautiful attentive service from the workers. Really enjoyed catching up with my long lost godfather, Ian. But I digress. It's lit! Splendid. Not a day went by I didn't think of you, Ian. I would have taken you here a lot earlier had you not punished me with your absence.

Had a wonderful experience at this cozy Indian restaurant run by this lovely couple. Service was immaculate to say the least & quality of food was simply the best. Garlic naan is one of the yummiest I have had in a while. Butter chicken was a 10/10 too. We will again surely visit here for our doze of ome amazing Indian curries.

Mum and I have been a ginger garlic regular for 20 years, the palak paneer was our favourite dish of all time!! The last two times (new owners?) we have been for our usual palak paneer and chicken saag, it was totally subpar. It genuinely devastates me to say that's the end of our ginger garlic days. The palak paneer recipe has changed and not for the better (it was already a 5 star dish!!). The new recipe is watery, lacking flavour, and the Spinach not blended enough. Sorry guys, sometimes reinventing something that's not broken should be left alone!

The dishes we tried weren't very authentic. Lamb rogan Josh was bit plain, murgh maharani was very sweet and garlic naan didn't have enough garlic. Also there was far too much sauce and just few pieces of meat. Very disappointing experience.

If you want authentic Indian cuisine in an warm, intimate setting with friends or family Ginger Garlic is the place to go. Everything is absolutely fabulous and I highly recommend asking the owner what he would recommend for your table. If ordering seperate dishes is more your style, the chicken dishes are all fabulous with my particular favourite being the Tikka Masala. Highly recommended!

Within the last few months (up to a year) the restaurant is not what it used to be. The atmosphere outside is lovely, but recently the food has changed. The recipes seemed to have changed, such as the hoshiarpur-da-kukarh (which was the reason I would come to ginger garlic so often) and the tandoori sabzi. Instead these dishes have become much more tomato tasting? We also ordered the lamb Rogan Josh, and were only given a few small pieces of meat and triple the amount of sauce, and had to find more food to mop up the sauce with. Unfortunately feeling very hungry after. I hope ginger garlic takes this critical feedback on board.
