I attended a function here last night and had such a great time. The food was fantastic and the cocktails were delicious. I had the slow cooked lamb which I requested to be dairy free. The restaurant was more than happy to accommodate my dietary needs. We will definitely be back here!

We had a fabulous day out at Fondata 1872 on Easter Sunday today. The food was fabulous, exceptionally curated with top of the range wine with the help of Jake. The staff were friendly and attentive. Went to Fondata to celebrate my daughter’s birthday for dinner. The staff was lovely, friendly and helpful, and the food was delicious. The portions were generous. We were 4 adults and 2 children, 3 of the adults are vegan. We had the set menu and they catered so well for us vegans. They didn’t just take ingredients off the dish as most places do, but actually replaced non-vegan products with high quality vegan products (eg vegan cheese). All the food was fantastic and enjoyed by all, even fussy kids. The place is romantic and beautiful.

The place and food is very nice. The venue is very pretty. The produce was fresh but a little heavy with the olive oil. Otherwise it is very tasty and presented well. The dessert however was exceptional and I am not a dessert person.

We ordered Fondata at home for Father’s Day, absolutely delicious! The slow cooked beef ribs just melted in your mouth. So easy to put together just had to heat it up. There was so much food we even have leftovers.. Highly recommend them !

What a delightful day. we had my daughters 30th birthday there. The staff were so friendly and accommodating. The food was well worth the money. We had he set menu and were pleasantly surprised with the extra salad and fries that came out. I am a vegan and was delighted with courses I received. Will definitely be back. Great job 👏

I have eaten at Fondata on several occasions with family. The food is always delicious and service efficient and friendly. However, in more recent (lockdown) times, for Fathers Day I treated my husband to a Fondata At Home dinner. We were super impressed with the quality and portion size of the dishes that were delivered to us. The housemade cassarecce with pork ragu was utterly delicious, the short rib beef with jus also very good, and the blood orange pudding with chocolate mousse to die for! I would urge anyone living within a 20km radius of Kangaroo Ground and are able to have Fondata deliver one of the at Home boxes to do so sooner rather than later. You will not be disappointed and a great way to support a local business who has been forced to pivot during these Covid times.

Good view , good wine and chips. Very poor customer service .We went there on Sunday for lunch . The antipasto was very poor with only one piece of prosciutto to share among 4 people, the cheese was no good as well. Mine lamb shoulder was too salty, I didn't enjoy that at all. Definitely would not recommend Fondata 1872 to anybody.

This is the second time we have been here, love the setting, lighting and the fire provides a very warm and comfortable setting. Friendly quick service.

We went for a mid week meal (for a special occasion). Thought it would be quiet, but the place was really buzzing. We had 3 courses of exceptional food with good by the glass wine selection. Would recommend👍👍👍👍

We had the most BEAUTIFUL wedding here. The food, the scenery, and the SERVICE was amazing!!!! I highly recommend anyone wanting to have an intimate wedding to have it here. We wish Fondata all the best! Thank you for helping us out so much throughout our wedding planning and on the day.

First impression on walking in was how incredibly noisy it was. Admittedly was very busy Sunday afternoon with nearly a full house. Lots of families and loud kids with some running around. A good wine selection at reasonable prices. Started with the antipasto platter that was very good. Would definitely recommend. The 2 mains were risotto that was very good. The other was pan fried gnocchi. First thought was it was on the smaller serve side but as l started to eat l was glad it was. It was very ordinary and to be honest the gnocchi itself was terrible. Ordered desert, Berry tart and tiramisu, and took 40 minutes to come. A waitress did come after 30 minutes & apologised for the wait as they were making up the deserts right now! Umm right. Deserts finally turned up & Berry desert was delicious but yes the tiramisu tasted like it was just made! Perhaps nonna needs to get up earlier! It was tasteless except for the topping. They didn't charge us for the deserts but not the point. Overall was average which was disappointing.

We held our wedding here on Friday 14th April 2023 with around 90 guests attending. The day could not have been more perfect.... even the weather was spot on. Rebecca Clark (Event Manager) was superb. Fondata were able to offer a customised menu, customised event schedule and the food and service was outstanding. We had so many compliments from our guests on the delicious & plentiful food and the presentation of wedding venue. I always wanted to go here while I was passing from the entrance. The place it self is quite nice and cosy and really liked the vibe. The food was only available on set menu which I wish it wasn't. Portion sizes are quite big and generous. But i was expecting more from the food and the taste. The meat platter to start was big and taste was good. But the second starter dish which was calamary, i feel it wasn't fresh, or maybe not coocked properly, it was a bit rubbery and had a fishy smell which was not very plasant. The gnocci was alright but I found the gnocci it self was too chuncky and didn't really absord any of the sauce. The lamb shoulder was tasteless and had almost no seasoning. Added quite a lot of salt to it but again wasn't something i want to order again. That could be far more better and tastier. The roasted cauliflower was good and I think it was roasted first and then confit in beef tallow. But remember it has some beefy after taste and you may not like it. It is also quite heavy and rich. The wine and beer selection was pretty good.

This physical place & location is fantastic. The views of rolling hills around you are really nice. Being totally honest though, the food looked better than it tasted. There were some complaints from the people I was with about it (e.g. the pasta was super bland).The staff didn't seem to care much when there was an issue which doesn't help the overall experience. Didn't let that ruin the experience though.

We had an engagement celebration here on the weekend and all the guests commented on how good the food was. The staff were friendly, the views were beautiful and the espresso martini’s were fab.

My daughter had been told by her teacher that this was a really nice place. So for weeks she's been saying on her 10th birthday she wanted to take her grandparents for a nice night out at Fondata 1872. We got there a few minutes before our booking and grandma isn't a fast mover. So I headed in to see if we could be seated early. While there, I gave a heads up that someone was turning 10 and her name. We walked in and the waitress said "Happy Birthday (name)." Big smiles. After that, it was all fantastic. The fireplace. The ambient lighting. The drinks. The service and food were all 5 out of 5. In particular, they really go above and beyond to make all the food special and taste really really good. I had the duck. It was fantastic. Can't say enough good about it.

We went to celebrate my partner's milestone birthday, we had over 15 guests and everyone loved the food and the location. Amazing staff, shout out to Olivia for taking care of the guests so well. The portions were huge and we couldn't even finish it all. The entree were so generous and Amazing options for vegetarians too. We were given a private terrace room and we made some amazing conversations and memories. Thanks to the entire team at Fondata 1872. Cheers

We had the pleasure of hosting a birthday here and the event was flawless. The food was delicious, the staff were warm, friendly and accommodating and the atmosphere was relaxed. Fondata manages to combine elegant fine dining with a family friendly venue with plenty of space for the kids to run around. Oh and the venue and grounds are rustic and stunning. All our guests left very happy and full. Highly recommend.

We held my father's wake (family dinner) in the Terrace Room last night. The service was impeccable, the room was beautiful and the food was DIVINE! Could not have asked for a better experience. Thank you Fondata staff for making our night a wonderful experience.

Had Fondata @ Home delivered to us for a lockdown Mothers Day gift. What a magnificent treat. The whole menu was amazing, starting with a charcuterie of local meats, cheese, olives and home made dips. The main entree was ricotta gnocchi, pan fried with walnuts, pumpkin and burnt butter and sage sauce. So easy to heat and serve. Enough work to make me invested in the result, but not so much as to screw it up. And main was, in my words, beef marshmallow. The official name was slow braised beef cheeks with truffle mash. The beef was incredible. Just fell apart, but not the slightest dry. Just succulent. Then all followed up by a lovely tiramisu. All the portions were generous. Meant for 2, but could have fed 4. Now thinking about how we can pay it forward, and gift this to other family and friends. When lockdown is over, we will be straight out to visit in person. Thanks!!!!

Such a beautiful restaurant to dine in. Even The view walking into Fondata is incredible. It sets the scene for an amazing day/night ahead. Service is excellent with very friendly waitstaff plus the food is incredible. I recommend the Swordfish, such a unique dish on a menu and it was absolutely amazing. Will definitely be back again!!

We made a reservation for lunch on a Saturday and requested for a high chair. When we arrived our table was not set up and the maître d' refused to let us sit at a table by the window. We ordered the king fish to start and as for mains, we ordered the pork belly and lamb rump. The service was atrocious and the wait staff had a constant scowl on their faces. The maître d' was very unfriendly and he looked like he hated his job. We had to wait almost an hour for our mains and when I asked one of the waitresses to check on our food, she came back to tell us that the pork belly is cooked to order so it takes a while. Seriously? Pork belly cooked to order?? It is extremely unfortunate that the service at this restaurant was a let down because the food was nice. We won't be returning or recommending this place to any of our friends.

As always, Fondata has come through with the goods! Ordered the 12hr lamb shoulder and it was to die for! waiters were great and did not have us waiting at any point. Lovely place for lunch with a beautiful view.

My night with 19 guests was everything I had hoped for. My guests were looked after so well, the staff attended to us constantly. The food was amazing and the dietary requirements were no problem in the planning. I had the best celebration. All my guests have said they will return . Spent a wonderful afternoon at Fondata 1872 for a family celebration. Relaxed atmosphere, wonderful views, great food and wine and friendly attentive staff.

So, so impressed with everything at Fondata, but especially their patience and understanding with food allergies/dietary requirements. I went in a group of 6 people all with completely different dietary requirements from pregnancy to vegan/vego to lactose and fructose allergies to strawberry and tomato allergies. They didn’t once seem fazed by all the different requirements and even remembered who needed what. Everything on the menu is fully labelled (vg, lf, df, etc) and can be adjusted to suit anyone’s needs. The menu is absolutely delicious, food is cooked to perfection, the views are stunning and there’s a nice vibe to the place. Amazingly happy with my experience here, it’s now a go-to for me!

Beautiful setting with picturesque views over green fields. Delicious Italian food with creative pasta dishes. The cauliflower is a must try. The friendly and helpful staff provided efficient service even with two large functions being held at the same time. Nice selection of wines to chose from.

Last weekend we ordered the Father's Day box. It was the first time we had ordered take away food this way. Well done Fondata Team! The food was fantastic and in abundance! There was so much we feasted for two nights. All of the food was to the standard we have experienced at the restaurant which is incredibly tasty. The order process was easy and it was delivered exactly when you said you would deliver. We will definitely order this way again. Yum!

Used the Fondata home delivery service this weekend. Dinner for 6 delivered to our door on Saturday. Food was beautiful, very generous serves. Enjoyed by all. Thanks Fondata!

Amazing food...the seafood pasta is probably one of the best I’ve had in Australia, and the beef ribs were moist, tender and tasty as. Servings were huge, to the point we couldn’t finish our mains and had to skip dessert. Would recommend

We had a fab meal on Saturday at Fondata, The staff are amazing and the food was delicious. It was a set menu $55 per person and it was totally worth the money, The venue is charming with a big open fire, We can't wait to return one day

We came back after Covid-19 and excited to be dining out. We have always loved fondata’s setting, food and the wine choices. As a regular customer we were so disappointed with the service received Saturday evening. We understood the limitations of a 2 hour setting however the waiter continuously reminded us, didn’t explain how the menu worked and when served drinks just placed them on the table. We brought new patrons to the venue. The service received completely dampened the evening and the mood. Such a shame as we normally love Fondata.

Had a surprise party for my dads 60th, staff are wonderful but above all I was blown away by how good the food was there was about 20 of us everyone raved about their meal. Definitely worth a visit.
