This American style dining and bar place might be small in space but they make it up with an extensive selection of alcohols and delicious food. I got to try a rootbeer flavoured beer which is so good. The gumbo is comforting, peppery and full of flavours. Both boneless chicken dishes are juicy and the dipping sauces are delightful. Food - 9 Service - 10 Vibe - 9 Price - $$$

Used to be really good, this time service was good, and the staff were on top of things until the owner showed up and gave my meal to the wrong table trying to help. Which then meant my main wasn't there by the time everyone else finished eating. They still charged us for it, and the owner could only refund in cash after screwing us around. The food has also really gone down hill, buffalo chicken was oilier, and crab cakes were immitation crab, which is a change. Went from a go to reccomendation to somewhere worth avoiding.

This Saloon bar is a place of meeting, of sharing with people from all around the world. Apart from having passionate managers, the location is ideal, a peaceful and pleasant atmosphere. Great spot for a cocktail. Hamish was a legend and whipped me an espresso martini with tequila upon request. Definitely pop in there for drink, some food and a yarn.

White Oaks is one of my favourite locals - I go all the time for drinks and if I’m feeling peckish, I always get either one of the chickens, mac and cheese, the chimichanga or ribs. The bartenders are great and really know how to make a mean drink, I love getting a pina colada or the thyme and apricot sour.

Best staff I’ve encountered - Tom and Ebony make this place what it is. They are professional, friendly and they make the best drinks I’ve had anywhere outside of the CBD. Always welcoming, always excited to see us we visit minimum 2-3 times a week and will continue to do so. Food is great if you’re looking for some Mexican fusion. Fish tacos are🔥

Ubereats order so can't speak to the atmosphere but the food was average. $82 order and for the quality should have been $45-50 order. Jalopeno poppers were a good size but not great. Chicken pieces were less than average. Crab cakes were alright. Mac and chees7e was awful. It was grainy in terms of chunks of powder. Its really bad. 2 is generous for this review. Best little saloon around! Food is outstanding (we had the buffalo chicken, southern fried chicken and cajun fries). Great selection of beers and cocktails (we were there for happy hour). Service was excellent! Friendly and attentive waiter and barman, food arrived piping hot and fresh. Music is eclectic and cool (Ozzie, The Doors, Yardbirds, Stones) Everything was perfect. Great spot right on Greville street. This place is an absolute gem 😍

So much good stuff on the menu, from drinks to food, and a lovely ambiance. The only things that takes away from this intimate southern American style experience is the lack of acoustic design creating a bit of a social battle of which table can talk the loudest - just add alcohol. Menuwise, anything that ends in taco is mucho delicious. I only wish the cornbread had American style whipped butter to accompany (a stiff cold slice of butter is really only suitable to serve to a frying pan). Overall a big double yum and would definitely come back in the summer for the streetside experience.

This cozy little hive is always a winner, boasting great service and atmosphere. Ebony and Tom and the dream team here at White Oaks, delivering great service, delicious drinks and always good banter. It’s no surprise the bar stools are never cold here!

If you're after an American BBQ and whiskey, look no further than White Oaks Saloon! The ribs melt in your mouth, and the Jack Daniels sauce complements the steak. Will be heading back today try the crab cakes and sliders next.
