The food is great and the wine is exceptional. It's a lovely place to spend a lot of time but very easy to part with a lot of money. I'm sure there are more budget-friendly options on the menu but, for a special occasion, I was very happy with what I had. So glad they're open again!

Has this place changed ownership? Went here a couple times over a year ago and loved it. This time overpriced/undersized meals with veal ribs lacking actual meat and charged $13 for a slice of cheese. We were offered a glass of "free" prosecco because it was my birthday; only to find after we had left we were charged $14.50 each for this. Only saving grace was one young girl who gave very nice service, the other guy was rude and disinterested.

I have always loved this place, great service, amazing wine and good food. I went in last night and the food was still great as was the service but the portions were tiny! I had the red mullet which was lovely but three small fish without anything else for $32!! I hope that someone looks at these reviews and adjusts the portion size! Very disappointing!

Couldn't recommend Bar Nonno more highly. We were struggling to get a dinner reservation and Dave invited us in while they were fine tuning the menu a week before they opened. I've never seen hospitality like it! The food was exceptional. The arancini and papa al pomodoro are a must!

Excellent food, wine and service. It's been hard to get in with everything happening with lockdowns, opening, bookings and all that but I still enjoy coming in when I can.

Superb food, great atmosphere and service and killer wines. David and his team are fantastic, whether it's for their Friday night $1.00 per freshly shucked oysters and a glass of exquisite french champagne, or perhaps the slow roasted beef cheek. The popularity of this place is growing by the week so best to make a booking.

The eponymous ‘Nonno’ purchased this building back in 1938 to sell fruit and veggies, since then the family has gone in two complementary directions, grandson Sergio Carlei is a winemaker while great-grandson David is the sommelier and restaurateur at Bar Nonno. The wines for serving and to take home are predominantly certified organic and biodynamic, many not available elsewhere as they make and import so many of them. The restaurant’s European menu embraces wine matching and doesn’t forget the vegans. With a capacity for 100 Bar Nonno is much bigger than it first appears; understatement is their style. Stay for dinner or call in for a bargain glass of Grand Cru Champagne.

Went as a party of 4, half full on a Friday night. Impressive service, polite and helpful. Tasting menu was delicious and if we had all ordered the 4 courses this would be a 5 star review. Unfortunately, 2 ordered a-la-carte which was very disappointing. Lamb cutlets were literally all fat, no meat to be seen. Linguine was tasteless and gnocchi went half eaten. Despite the bottle of spirits getting broken and becoming unavailable, no replacement was offered and we were charged for a drink we didn’t really want. Shame, as the wine, atmosphere and tasting menu were 10/10.

Absolutely amazing. Italian food, and in our case wine as well, with French infusion. I don't often give feedback... But this place, and it's chef, deserve it. The way the chef cooked the octopus was my favourite to date. The mains were also amazing. The attention to every single detail on the plate was commendable. The staff were caring about the culinary journey and contributed to the great experience. My wife and I were surprised about the choice of background music for a restaurant, eagles/the cure/etc, but concluded that it actually positively influenced the conversations. We'll be back.

Wonderful place, what a fantastic dinner! The staff was great, very helpful and polite. We had the set menu with the wine matching, it was a perfect combination. Also great value for the price!
