Very disappointing, definitely not worth the three flights of stairs walk up. Staff had no sense of urgency and showed no interest in providing even the most basic level of guest experience. Despite having a reservation, and there only being 3-4 other tables with guests on them, we were seated on a table so small we needed to ask to be moved to a larger table when the food arrived so we had enough space for the plates. The sandwich was good, but the salmon was dry, unappetising and appeared to have been sitting out for hours. After one drink and a few bites of the food we decided to go elsewhere. Upon paying the bill, the audacity of the staff to ask for a tip was both amusing and delusional. For some reason later in the evening I received an email from OpenTable letting me know my booking had been cancelled by the restaurant - despite having already dined. Maybe to avoid paying the booking fee from their end? Overall a terrible experience, would not recommend. It’s really disappointing to see a once great Melbourne venue decline so greatly in both quality and service.

Former brothel perched turned bar above Bourke St. Finger food was ok service good and view great. Stairs are not for the fitness~challenged.

Madame Brasserie has been probably one of the best discoveries here in Paris. We spent an absolutely epic moment watching the sunset over Paris, enjoying an A1 menu for a unbelievable price, where the lovely host Alex and the amazing garçon Hassan took care of us on such friendly and professional attention that we can only say "Thank you so much Mme Brasserie ❤️ We will be back" You just got a happy couple who spent probably the best moment in Paris because of you. Highly recommended

Don’t come here for the cocktails. The Gin & Tonic was made in a long glass so watered down you couldn’t even taste the gin. Really nice rooftop space though to take in a sunset but the overall atmosphere is lacking. It almost felt like a Japanese maid cafe. Significantly older crowd than other rooftop bars in the area. Would recommend nearby Carlton Club, Loop Roof, Good Heavens or 1806 for a better vibe.

Cute venue and even cuter waiters and waitresses. Great place to have a cocktail and bite to eat and chat away with good friends. There are vegetarian options on the menu and wide range of cocktails and alcoholic beverages. A bit hard to find as the front entrance is marked with a small sign on the door.

What an amazing place to spend a Sunday afternoon. Sadly we missed the brunch but it looked fantastic! I recommend a Sunday or ANY DAY at this venue. Try Josh’s Gin Fizz!

Madame Brussels bar is a hidden gem in Melbourne, the renovation and owner change is exactly what this place needed. The atmosphere is amazing and the staff and service are second to none. I'd recommend this place highly if you want a night of good vibes and amazing drinks/food!

Was ok. I had a great afternoon with the girls. Great weather and we were seated outside at the top level. Service could have been better. We waited a while for drinks. The table needs to be set first before bringing the food so people are not waiting around for plates.

This is a rooftopbar where you want to go for the vibes. The drinks are amazing, the staff is friendly and you can take insta worthy pictures. I would really advise going here!

As part of a tour, we were taken to Madame Brussels. After climbing 3 flights of stairs (warned to avoid the lift that could only hold 2 people), we arrived and had a table set up outside (not the rooftop). Unfortunately the tree triggered heyfever and sneezing attacks made it harder to enjoy. But, the staff were lovely and service was relatively quick considering we all had cocktails. A tad pricey for the size of the drinks, and although they were ok, we've had better. But it's worth visiting this iconic Melbourne bar as it's cute and quirky with a cool history.

What a cozy rooftop bar overlooking the fed square. The warm mulled wine on a wintery night is just droolworthy.

Popped in for a couple of cocktails, great vibe and service. Beware of elevator warning ⚠️😂

This is such a unique little bar spot. It’s a rooftop bar that’s all pastel and cute themed and all of the servers are dressed in tennis fits. It’s so cute! There are a wide range of drinks and food to choose from that change seasonally and it’s just such a great vibe. We’ve been here many many times because it’s just a great little spot that you definitely should check out! Make sure you get a bowl of chips here too. I still dream about them.

What do you say about a restaurant that has a fantastic staff, great drinks, and some lovely snacks.....Bravo. This was such a delight at the end of a long day. Let's start with the staff, attentive and friendly. Many passes by the table thru our stay, keeping us well lubricated and happily fed. Everyone there was a pleasure to talk to, and we absolutely had a great time. The drinks were amazing from the sangria to their specialty drinks. The only complaint was I just wanted more and more as they went down very smoothly. Now, to the snacks, we had the scones and some olives. The scones were made in-house and were amazing, coming out warm with whipped cream and berry compote were absolutely perfect. The experience was like going to a friend's house and having a lovely evening on the patio. Well done, and thank you!

My favourite bar in Melb hands down. One-of-a-kind 50s rooftop patio, with lovely, friendly and helpful staff to make you feel like you're at a party in the Hamptons in 1955. Love it.

Goodness gracious what a venue. Jacob looked after us so well. The carboni coup was so bloody good I couldn’t believe it. I’m coming back next bloody chance I get.

Goodness Mme Brussels would turn in her grave, this place has really gone downhill. The menus were dirty and crumpled, table hadn’t been wiped down (and it wasn’t busy) waitress was unfriendly and disinterested and spent most of the time with her head in the cupboard on the terrace leading us to speculate if her phone was in it. When the cocktails came they were good but had to beg for service that was unwilling and lackluster in the extreme. It was a special occasion and we were there to spend and have have a great time but it was awful. Empty tables on a warm night said it all. Won’t be going back!

A cute and quirky retreat from the busy Melbourne streets! Great cocktails and food (only tried the fries) and cool staff. Josh, the owner, had put on a Sunday BBQ and it was a hit! It’s a must try Melbourne CBD rooftop bar!

Atmosphere and energy is always amazing here. It’s the perfect hidden gem in the cbd with a view to die for! The staff are some of the friendliest people who provide genuine service and make everyone feel cared for (especially when picking drinks). I’m a big fan of the dainty decor and the pastels that are consistent through the venue. It’s a super quirky place full of character and good vibes. Highly recommend for groups drinks ;) shoutout to julian for the fun and prompt service, you’re a legend!!

Australia needs more kitsch bars like this. Feels like I’m on the sideline of some 1920s tennis match with the decor. Super friendly service and a great rooftop bar I. The heart of the city. Huge drink menus and plenty of options to sit in or outside. Be careful with the elevator - it is very temperamental so obey the signs

Great view. It’s better to book ahead if you want an outside seat. Sunday afternoon is very occupied so service is quite slow. But all staff are very friendly. Drinks are fine.

Such an underrated bar, the rooftop and vibes are awesome, and basic but delicious cocktails. Always able to get a seat here.

Friend tried booking a table for high tea and bottomless brunch, but was told that they could only do one type of booking, and for some reason wouldn't allow multiple bookings. This caused a lot of confusion when we all got here. I've been here once before for drinks and it was great but this was a very disappointing experience.

  • 1/5 Rachael B. 1 year ago on Google
A disappointment Booked the bottomless brunch over a month in advance for the bottomless lunch, paid and confirmed we had a guest with allergies and was assured a meal would be made available. On the day no!!! We paid $70 for a toasted sandwich!!!! Drinks we’re nothing that exciting and neither was the meal.

Great place to meet. Nice food, good drinks. Roof top setting. Can be hard to find. Sean one of the staff also made our evening fun and helpful.

Such an intimate rooftop outdoor and indoor space. We just went up to have a drink and relax for a while after a show but the staff were so attentive. Great place!

One of my all time favourite roof top bars in Melbourne CBD. Cool decor and retro wait staff attire. The only down fall would be the fact that it’s table service and it can take some time to get served during busier hours. Also the food and drinks menu is a bit limited and pricey for what you get. But I guess for the cool location you have to pay for it!

cheese platter was p good, drinks were a bit watered down for the price - a bit too much ice. service was great! just take note you’ve got to walk up 3 flights of stairs (lift doesn’t support more than 2 people). prefer the outdoor atmosphere! should sit outside if you head there (:

Drinks were extremely expensive and were so weak in alcohol. I feel like I sobered up here whilst I lost all my money….. Sometimes when we went to the bar they would say no it’s table service but their table service is very slow. They should just accept service at the bar all the time. Disappointing. Also whilst we are sitting outside on the second level you are not allowed to vape.. only on the third level outside? Which is the same build but half the space. Wouldn’t recommend

😐 Food tastes great 👍 they sure love their spices and I like the kick of it. Fish and pork tacos were great but chorizo taco wasn't good because of the rubbery texture skin. It was unpleasant to eat. Corn chips were a bit stale and guacamole was bland. Service was okay. We gave the feedback to a sta...
