The Hausmannsturm is a tower in the old town of Dresden and the oldest surviving part of the Dresden castle complex. There's not much to see in the tower. The tower has a clock and inside the tower, you can see the mechanisms of the clock, which is actually quite fascinating. The height of the tower is over 100 metres and the views are amazing, especially as you can get a close up look of the sculptures on Dresden Cathedral and a bird's eye view of Theatreplatz. I entered Hausmannsturm as part of the combined ticket for Dresden Castle and it's well worth the effort for the views.

The views from the tower's balcony are truly amazing. The entrance fee is included in the ticket for the castle.

Nice tower. My favorite thing was the clock mechanical movement and the views. It seems many tourists did not know about this tower as we had the tower mainly to ourselves.

The main tower of Dresden Castle is a focal point in the old town.

Took the walk up to the top one crowded day. Walking in a long line, but still very enjoyable. It's amazing to be able to walk around in such a nicely preserved castle. Very nice view of Elbe, the opera and towards Zwinger from the top.

Beautiful view. Use your ticket from the museum to go up to the top. There are quite a few stairs but they are well lit and incased. I am afraid of heights and it wasn't a problem climbing up. However, it can be a bit windy on the observation deck and the fence isn't too high. You are not allowed to take bags or drinks with you.

Amazing views! Rather comfortable stairs but no elevator available. Real cool 360 degrees panorama of the city. Since there is no elevator, there are very few visitors and we had the place to ourselves for most of the time. You can also observe the tower clock mechanism as you go up. Highly recommend!

The best vantage point in the city with views over the Zwinger, the Semper Oper and the Frauenkirche. It's very modern on the inside, the climb was rather easy and very rewarding
