A
disappointing
twist:
Hyderabad
lamb
Biryani
at
Istanbel
kebab
house.
I
recently
had
the
opportunity
to
visit
Istanbul
Kebab
House,
drawn
in
by
the
promise
of
their
Hyderabadi
Biryani.
As
a
lover
of
authentic
Indian
cuisine,
I
was
excited
to
sample
their
take
on
this
classic
dish.
However,
my
experience
left
much
to
be
desired,
especially
considering
the
steep
price
of
19.0
euros.
Upon
entering
the
restaurant,
I
was
greeted
by
a
take
away
style
ambiance
but
not
a
classy
one.
Yet,
the
ambiance
is
good
and
welcoming.
The
staff
seemed
friendly
and
attentive,
which
initially
gave
me
hope
for
a
memorable
dining
experience.
After
placing
my
order
for
the
Hyderabad
Mutton
Biryani,
I
eagerly
awaited
its
arrival.
When
the
dish
finally
arrived
at
my
table,
I
was
immediately
taken
aback
by
what
I
smelled.
The
biryani
is
packed
with
aromatic
spices
typically
associated
with
Hyderabad
biryani.
The
presentation
was
done
well
with
the
vibrant
colours,
coriander.
The
portion
size,
however,
was
quite
generous,
but
unfortunately,
quantity
alone
cannot
redeem
a
dish.
As
I
took
my
first
bite.
I
was
disappointed
to
find
that
the
flavors
were
nowhere
near
what
I
expected
from
an
authentic
Hyderabad
Biryani.
The
rice
lacked
the
fragrant
blend
of
spices
that
usually
permeate
each
grain,
and
the
meat
was
tough
and
overcooked,
devoid
of
any
tenderness.
The
absence
of
traditional
Hyderabad
biryani
ingredients
such
as
saffron,
and
fried
onions
further
detracted
from
the
overall
taste.
The
absence
of
authentic
flavors
was
disappointing,
particularly
considering
the
significant
price
tag
attached
to
this
dish.
Moreover,
the
service
was
a
bit
lacking
in
attention
to
detail.
It
took
a
considerable
amount
of
time
for
the
food
to
be
served,
and
the
staff
seemed
preoccupied
with
other
matters
and
they
failed
to
serve
to
you
table.
While
the
atmosphere
was
pleasant,
it
did
not
compensate
for
the
lackluster
food
and
service.
