Really nice atmosphere and vibe. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful, kept a close eye on the tables ensuring we were looked after. Food was delicious, came out really quickly. I got the roast chicken dinner, chicken was really tender and flavourful, mashed potatoes were really creamy and veg was al dente! The Irish garden cocktail is a great choice if you’re looking for something light and refreshing. Will definitely be back again! 🌟

Charming gem Davy Byrnes is a real gem in the heart of Dublin. The place has heaps of history and charm. Highly recommend popping in whether for a swift beverage, or as in our case, a very leisurely lunch. They have an impressive menu which caters for pretty much all tastes from steak to vegan options🌱 and a lovely wine menu too. The team here are really welcoming and friendly providing exceptional service. Special thanks to Monika and Sarah for making our visit so excellent, for the craic and of course the generous bread mountain. Look forward to visiting again soon!

We had an AWESOME lunch here (served by the incomparable Tommy!) An array of dishes (and various pints of Guiness) were all absolutely fantastic (the soup of the day was a special standout) and the atmosphere was equally great. Next time we’ll try to reserve a table out front 🌞

Went here for the first time last night, an unplanned visit. Shared chicken wings for starter they were tasty but would have preferred them crispy. Fish and chips for Jen and burger for me which were both delicious, chips were also very good. Service was great, thank you Monika.

+ Excellent Dining Experience, Tommy and Linda are incredible and wonderful people, thank you! Tommy as it was said, you could open a training school. Seriously, Dublin's restaurants need more of your kind. + Delicious, fresh, rich, amazing range of meals, always well prepared with perfect seasoning. Congratulation to the chef and to all responsible for the cooking staff. Everything is always so tasty and so well presented. Specials of the days are well chosen. + Definition of selection of wines and drinks is top class and recommendations by Tommy are priceless. + Strong and rich coffee, ideal to start or finish your dining experience. + Wonderful atmosphere due to charming, friendly, well-spoken, classic manners and highly professional team and tastefully chosen type of music. + Very good pricing for this so well-managed restaurant. + Spotlessly clean. + Location in heart of Dublin, suitable so well for tourist and locals. + Great for lunch, brunch, early bird, and late dinner. + Vegan, Vegetarian options are available and the steak is served as ordered. I highly do recommend Davy Byrnes. Looking forward to returning soon. Regular customer. ________________________________________________________________________ Consumer Rights Law and GDPR do apply. My goodness, this place is impeccable! Fully restored as if James Joyce visited yesterday. No details should be missed as each is amazing. Venture all the way back to Molly's Room to see an original copy of Ulysses, check out all the artwork, busts, sculptures and wall/bar adornments. Food, service and atmosphere was perfect! We sat at the back bar and had wonderful trout with tempura cauliflower and a Guinness pie. Both went well with a Cab and Zin. Need to return to ring the Nice Whiskey bell!

We stopped in for a quick lunch and were pleased with our meal. Our food was made to order and came out relatively quickly. Service was fine and the general ambiance was nice. For lunch, we were dressed casually and did not feel out of place.

Our experience in Davy Byrne’s was greatly enhanced by the kindness, knowledge and patience of our server Monica. We took her advice on everything from the seafood starter, sea trout special main, our gin aperitif, bottle of wine and the cheese board with port. Monica thank you for helping us make the right choices; for explaining the ingredients and connecting us with the undoubted talent of your chefs. Highly recommend this fantastic Dublin restaurant.

oh my God, the lamb in the beer was amazing! Our waitress Valentina was incredibly attentive, polite and kind. She noticed that my husband had not been at the table for a long time and offered to warm up his burger herself. All the staff were very friendly, gave excellent advice on food and drink. I definitely recommend this place to all tourists to feel the Irish hospitality!

This culinary gem stole our hearts and taste buds, offering the best dinner experience we had in Dublin. Despite no hope for a reservation, the ingenious staff welcomed us to the classy curved marble bar with open arms. The Cod Croquettes were fried to absolute perfection, setting the bar high for all future croquettes we'll taste. The Guinness beef pie was a delectable delight, but the true star of the show was the lamb stew; a taste that left us saying "wow" with every spoonful. The staff's attentiveness and warmth made us feel right at home in this historic establishment. As we kicked off our first night in the motherland, we couldn't have asked for a better dining experience. And the ambiance – it was truly magical. The atmosphere was filled with an old-world charm, and the lovely decor added to the overall charm. We were captivated by the unrivaled hospitality that Davy Byrnes has been perfecting since 1798. The food, the service, and the location – all exceptional! Davy Byrnes is undoubtedly a place to indulge in the finest Irish cuisine while basking in the rich history of Dublin. This legendary spot has earned its place as a timeless destination for locals and visitors alike, and we left with hearts full and taste buds delighted. If you're in Dublin, do yourself a favor and experience the unmatched quality of food and drink, surrounded by an ambiance of genuine warmth and charm at Davy Byrnes. You won't regret it!

a caesar salad in which there are no tomato cherries and quail eggs.. and the sauce resembles mayonnaise diluted with water, not Dijon mustard, anchovies, egg yolk and so on. I didn't like it. There was no iceberg in the salad, just some unpalatable burdock

Sweet find. Excellent service, selection of local fare and the decor was easy on the eyes and tasteful. A must if you want to unwind a bit from the city and enjoy. The Odssey, James Joyce's book is also on display.

We both had the steak and ale pie which was pretty good. Tons of beef and good flavor inside. Nice and hot. Top was a bit tough. Drinks were just ok. Service was good. There was a performer who was playing the oddest choices. It was like old school American wedding music ( Billie Joel, frank Sinatra etc.).

Good, friendly service. If you are interested in literature, James Joyce's death mask and a first edition of Ulysses are in the back room.

We stopped in here, already knowing they were booked for the night, just in case something had opened up. The lovely hostess was so wonderful, she indulged my begging and got us a table despite the packed house. Our server Monika made us feel comfortable, and never rushed us. We loved the authentic Irish food and the quaint and lively atmosphere. A must (if you can get in!)

Atmosphere of a morgue This used to be a pub as referred to by the great James Joyce. Now it has become a cold semi restaurant with no atmosphere whatsoever. We ran out and enjoyed the nice warm atmosphere of the Duke

It's was just perfect for lunch. Wish I could have stayed a bit longer. The staff were friendly and helpful. It's a busy spot not surprising.

Neighborhood gem, can be tricky to get into at peak times so make reservations in advance. Cozy feel inside or out, prefer inside vibe unless you want to people watch. Great Rose here paired with tasty appetizers. Lovely place for couples. Very attentive staff. Will definitely return.
